After being a repeat customer of several moves I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I spoke to Carmine on the phone and explained everything we were moving and the type of house I had with the stairs and he gave me a price. The day of my move Victor and his crew Showed up to my home, I walked the house with Victor and showed him everything that they were moving. The only two things that I had not mentioned to Carmine were a single twin mattress and a single full mattress (no furniture with those sets just mattresses) which other than the extra mattress pads it should have added several minutes to the move. I saw a change in Victors personality and I didn't underStand why because I was very nice and explained I was going to buy them lunch. My husband who had been making numerous trips to the new house with loose personally belongings comes in and I hear Victor downstairs instantly telling my husband this wasn't going to be a 4 hour job because I have him taking out garbage. Me hearing this, I'm completely surprised so I approached the situation and told him I never asked you to take out any garbage at which point his disrespectful attitude came in and he was arguing with me. Wish I could say the move got better, but his attitude was horrendous. The whole entire time being passive aggressive pounding up my stairs to which my 13-year-old daughter asked me what his problem was. When we got to the new house, his attitude didn't change either and got into an argument and was disrespectful to a family member and said she should have respect for the movers and get out of his way. She was accidentally in the past, but he could've easily went around her and he didn't have to be a nasty individual. But it was when I spoke to my neighbor that all the pieces of the puzzle came together because she told me that they were outside complaining how the office understaffed for this job and I'm not saying they didn't record because they did but I had the wool pulled over my eyes because the office understaff then and then hit me with a $400 overage at the end of the move. The movers left all my boxes in the living room , they didn't put my bedroom set together, so I ended up sleeping on the floor and all this aggravation and having to pay 400 more. Well, I'm gonna say is if you decide to use Verrazano movers make sure you have them come to your home and give you an estimate because they will wholeheartedly pull the wool over your eyes and financially take advantage of you. They've lost a customer and I will no longer recommend them to anyone. read more

I am moving in August and I called to get a in home estimate. They gave me an appointment for June 27 between 5:30 and 6:00 and they never showed up. I called them and they said oh can we change your appointment to Friday. Well I stayed home waiting for them and they never showed up why would I trust that they would be at my house to move me the day I have to move. I surely wouldn't recommend them because they were very unprofessional. read more

They were moving someone into my building today.....the movers using the elevator cussed residents out and parked in the fire zone.....very unprofessional.....when I move, or anyone I know moves, I will tell them not to use these folks. read more

The movers sat in their truck for 15 minutes before they left my house and they charged me for that time. Than they took 3 hours to go a 2 hour route because they stopped along the way. I complained about the extra charge so they called Scott the owner and had him on speaker phone and he told the man to set me straight and tell me the guy is there 10 years. He didn't know he was on speaker phone. He said it again and again. The owner of a business telling a first time customer " set her straight"? Oh no!! I tried to call and he never returned my calls. This was the first and the last time I will use this company. I only used them because half price movers was busy. Be weary of this place. Proceed with caution. I have been working for Verrazano for a few years now on the weekends. I am currently in the labors union local 79. The owner of this moving company is generous enough to let me come and go and work hard for him every weekend. I've noticed he goes the extra mile to make sure the customers furniture is always safe. What Do I mean by this? All glass pieces are wrapped with cardboard then saran wrapped, THAN a moving blanket as well. We used Verrazano Moving & Storage to load and store our Living Room and Dining Room furniture into a Pod. The Crew did an excellent job of packing and moving our furniture. When our renovation project was over we called them back again to empty the Pod. They again did an excellent job of unpacking the Pod and returning the furniture to our home.The crew was very professional and easy to work with. The job was completed October 8th 2021. read more

I KNOW THIS IS A LONG REVIEW, but please read it. Let me start by stating I tried very hard to refrain from writing this review. I thought it would be better to call the company directly and speak to the owner/manager about my issues, but after opening up my boxes and going through the rest of myself I felt I had to share this experience. Let me start my stating that Carmine & the manager are both very friendly & courteous. But that did not help my move. So, the movers walk into my home on Dec 18, (I was moving from SI to PA) & the first thing I get is "oh we have to move all this? This is a lot of stuff, we need more help, another truck, I have to call and get more help this is too much stuff." I felt terrible, I actually found myself apologizing for having too much stuff. I just didn't expect movers to complain about moving!!! However, to be fair, In discussing the amount of stuff I had from living in a home for 25 years with Carmine I did state if it didn't fit in the truck I would rent a U-haul the next day. Little did I know that would be easier said than done. So let's move on, they start packing the truck while on and off the phone trying to get a 5th guy to come help them, which they succeeded in doing. But please pay attention to this, my husband said do a good job and I'll give you a $75.00 tip. The leader of the group says "OH THATS NOT ENOUGH FOR A MOVE LIKE THIS, WE NEED AT LEAST $100. PER PERSON." And I know this is a practice of his. He tells you what the tips should be!!! Ok let's move on, so they continue loading the truck and I told them I had purchased many of those storage bags for the move, they come with handles. I said please don't lift them by the handles bc they will rip right off, did they listen? Nope, I found several with the handles ripped right off the bags. And they were so sloppy and careless the ones that had a plastic window they managed to rip the plastic. Those bags aren't cheap and I had planned on keeping the items in them stored in there. Ok so that was that. I digress, let's get back to the move, after a very long cold day we finally arrive in PA, they unload the truck so fast I don't even have a second to tell them where I wanted the boxes in the garage. Ok it's late they are tired we can let that go. But....as I start to unpack I get more and more aggravated. The boxes that were clearly and boldly marked FRAGILE on every side of the box and packed appropriately were found on the bottom with boxes on top of them, some of them even crushed. They didn't even take the time to read one word and stack the boxes appropriately. To date I have not even finished unpacking all my boxes but I feel I have enough damage to share with you to post this review. Here we go: 1. TELLING ME I NEEDED TO GIVE THEM A $450. TIP 2. I had a desk that was 2 years old that had a hutch on top, they needed to take the hutch off to move it. And they removed the backing. They totally destroyed the backing, chipped the desk on the bottom, basically broke it. My husband was able to put it back together with screws, but u see these screws that now hold the desk together & it's just not the same and it has no backing. 3. I purchased bags to cover my mattress, they taped it but the tape broke and they did not re tape it then proceeded to drag it on the floor and it got dirty which is what I was trying to avoid. 4. I had a chaise lounge which they did not wrap or cover and bc the outside furniture was wet from the snowstorm we had water melted onto the chaise leaving a water stain. 5. Don't know what they did to my beautiful coffee table but the wood on one side is all scrapped and chipped in the corner. 6. Remember the fragile boxes that were on the bottom? Yep, u guessed it. The crystal my mom bought me for my wedding in 1981 broken. Not all, but a few glasses, other glasses broken as well. And several other things were broke bc they could not read one word FRAGILE!!! I realize this is hard work bc we had to finish the job and it's not fun, but u are handling people's stuff that they care about and have sentimental value to them. To see your own things handled with such disregard is very disappointing. I'm sure I will find more damage and broken items as I continue my journey through the garage but I could not wait in writing this review any longer. And I actually tipped $450. for all this. If nothing else this company should reimburse me that tip money and the extra money they charged for the extra guy they sent to help load the truck. It would be the right thing to do, but who expects anyone to have integrity these days. And if they read this they will know exactly who I am. read more

From booking the appointment and confirming it day of with John to the overall move with Carmine and his crew, all was excellent. The crew was super careful with all of the furniture and the walls of course, no issues to complain about at all. The rates were reasonable and there were no hidden charges as John explained during initial consultation. do not use this mover. they smashed holes in my wall so huge that the new owner held money in escrow to fix it, they shattered my very expensive mirror, charged me for additional truck which wasn't needed, put stuff back in closets so they didnt have to move it and charged me double. the worst move ever. it took me three additional days stuffing my belongings into my cars to move. the biggest rip off ever read more

Finally had the chance to put a review after settling into my house. First, price was descently quoted. However, they sent 4 guys but 1 of them you can smell that he was hung over with alcohol. Very unprofessional and not much helpful with the move. Another complaint is they moved our fridge and it dropped onto our staircase railing which got very loose. We can see a crack on bottom of the railing. The movers didn't care to say much about it or offer to speak to the company for this matter. They just picked it back up and kept on moving. Now we just got quoted to fix this will cost us $500-$600 to fix. On top, at the end they specificaly ask for specific amount for tips per person. Honestly with 1 guy who smells like he is drunk i really don't think he deserve that tip. If I were to recommend this place, I don't think I will. read more

These guys were great with our move. Friendly, on time, very helpful, hard working and careful. The only thing I'll say is not all boxes were placed in the correct spot and all were clearly labeled. For example, some boxes that were labeled "2nd fl living room" we're left in the basement and so on. Needless to say this was a pain for us because we couldn't find things and had to lift heavy boxes up one or two flights (their job). Pleasantly surprised by what a great job this company did with my move. The team was classy and took care with my furniture, wrapping and the entire move. Jimmy the driver, as well as all the guys really were caring and attentive. I was very nervous because I booked the job over the phone, no one came to my house and gave me an estimate, I went with their hourly rate based on our conversation about how much furniture I had. I moved from one location in Staten Island to another on the Island. I've always heard terrible things about moving, I'm really glad I chose this company because they hired the right people who took great care of my furniture, taking it apart and carefully putting back together. I would not recommend this company! We were quoted over the phone a price of $1200 and by the time the move was over we ended up paying $1612! The owner John stated he was in business for years and the best price around... YEAH RIGHT! The price of the move was comparable to other moving companies who took the time to come to my house and give me a quote. Shame on us for believing the price we were quoted would be honored, you live and learn. Also he said he supplied the wardrobe boxes. Yeah he brings them that day and expects you to pack while the movers are there. So basically you're packing on your dime because you're getting charged an hourly rate instead of a flat rate. The boxes were all broken and you're expected to unpack and give them back once the movers are at your new location. Who unpacks the same day as the move?!?!?!I don't want to see this happen to anyone else so beware!
