I wasn't a fan of Vero's prior to this visit, but I am now! This last visit was a whole new ball game! We ate in, and our sausage and mushroom GF crust as well as our cauliflower crust pizzas came out piping hot and fresh! I definitely preferred the cauliflower crust over the GF crust. The cauliflower crust was thin, extra crispy, and had phenomenal flavor! I do wish I didn't have to pay an arm for their pizzas, but I will definitely be back for the cauliflower crust!

Wonderfully delicious Chicago deep dish pizza! We had ours with sausage, basil, Roma tomatoes, and olives. We also had a side of meatballs with hot giardiniera. The crust was golden brown and somehow both crispy and doughy. The sauce was just a little tangy and not too salty - just right! Adding fresh basil as a topping provided a bet of herby greenness to the mix. The meatballs were pretty good and the hot gardiniera added a spicy pop - almost too spicy for some of my dining partners. If you're in Arizona and craving Chicago style pizza, this is the place!

A commendation from a friend told me to try this place. The recommendation was spot on. My gf got the deep dish pizza and I had the BYO Calzone with black olives, sausage, Canadian bacon and basil. It was all amazing. As we walked in there was nobody in the place as we walked in about 10 mins after they opened for afternoon service. The wait staff was amazing. She knew her stuff and her drinks and hit them spot on. Even other wait staff was helping out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole area was clean and in order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely be back. This place was amazing

Great family owned restaurant! Happy hour daily on food and drinks! Lots of parking! We had pizza and wings and the thin crust pizza was fresh. They also offer giardiniera peppers! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is about 20-35 seats in the restaurant and the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back!

Oh Vero, I'm so glad you opened this location closer to me! Vero has one of the top "Chicago thin" crusts in the valley - it actually reminds me of my go-to pizza growing up in Chicagoland! Nowadays, I need to eat the gluten-free crust and they offer two versions - a gluten-free traditional crust and then a cauliflower crust. You cannot go wrong with either, but I prefer the traditional crust. As I have said many times, great Chicago pizza comes down to three things - the crust, the sauce, and toppings! Vero has the perfect pizza sauce - absolutely love it! And the toppings - fresh, high-quality toppings that I double up on! My only wish is that they offered different sizes of their gluten-free crust because a 10" pizza is just not enough to share with anyone else, so I always end up having to order two pizzas... and that gets expensive! I will continue to order from Vero because it's so damn good! Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS***** Gluten-free rating: ****FOUR STARS****

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the feel of this pizza place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Except it's more than just a pizza place. The spinach ricotta dip and cocktails really kicked up my experience on my dougie-mama date (although I've been told my seven year old is officially too old to call it a date now). Regardless, the food was fantastic, the service was exceptional, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't wait to come back! I will definitely be getting another "it's a dry heat" cocktail and I can't wait to try a new flavor deep dish!

We've been in the valley for 11 years, only recently learned about Vero. We're recovering Chicagoans and grew up on some of the best pizza taste buds could enjoy but Arizona was lacking in tavern-style, thin-crust pizza, some came close but Vero is spot on. The flavor is consistent and I appreciate the fact that the sausage has fennel in it to give it a bit more kick. If you're looking for the real-deal, check out Vero, you won't be disappointed!

In the ten years I've lived in Arizona this is truly the best pizza I've had down here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This little place has great ambiance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the service from the ladies was amazing! Fast, friendly and attentive!

We ordered two orders of wings and a thin crust pizza for takeout. Unfortunately, the wings were disappointing--dry and clearly cooked from frozen, which affected the texture and flavor. The pizza, on the other hand, was hot and tasty. However, the cheese and toppings separated from the crust, lacking that satisfying "cheese pull" and cohesion. I'd rate the wings a C- and the pizza a B. I'd give the pizza another try, but I wouldn't order anything else from here. Deep dish is overrated, do not recommend.

Great service and yummy pizza! I think I saw AZ foodie posted about this place and I had it bookmarked so my husband, son, and I came to try it out! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area was smaller than expected, only a couple tables and then the bar area, but luckily there was a table that worked for us![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was wonderful and they were super accommodating for our almost 1 year old! Love that the pizzas have fun Chicago landmark names, as that is where my family lives! We just got a cheese one this time and cheesy garlic bread. My husband wished we got the butter crust since he likes the cheese on top better, but we were still happy with our order. Crust is slightly salty which was yummy. I thought it tasted a bit plain so next time I'd get toppings. My son was real into the garlic bread. Pricing was super reasonable for the amount of food we got, brought a ton of pizza home. We would totally come again!

Ultimately I chose the Mesa store because it was the original and I wanted to see Mesa. We started with a basic garlic cheese bread appetizer and it was great. The calamari was tempting but we'll save that for next time. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and I ordered the usual Chicken Parmesan which came with a side of pasta. It was actually a harder choice than usual because I walked thru the restaurant before I ordered and so many dishes looked good, as did the pizza. But I went with the usual. Let's start with the wife, which truly speaks to the five stars because she frankly doesn't love Italian food. She eats it when I beg. And she loved it. She actually proactively mentioned she wanted to go back. That's like 7 stars right there it's so abnormal. I agree with her. The chicken parm was fantastic. Amazing. To top it off, our server was great and when I mentioned we were new to the area and it was our first trip she was so nice telling us the history of the original and the other stores, and the manager later stopped by to continue that conversation as the server told her we were new. I mentioned that I live closer to the Scottsdale store, and she said it's the same food and I'll like it just as much. I'll have a hard time deciding which shop to return to - it might be worth the drive to the original just for the ambiance, but I'll give the other a try soon because it was just that good! 5 stars. Or 7 if you ask my wife.

I ended up swapping the…read morebreaded chicken that normally comes with the meal for grilled chicken to avoid the oils from frying. I also subbed the sunrise sauce in and it was so delicious. My only complaint was the portion size for the price. Normally I would get to chicken pieces and have leftover chicken. I remember normally going in and being able to split this dish with my husband, but this time it came with one piece of chicken. This was a little disappointed for the price point and hoping to get more protein. The other really annoying part when dining at Vito's is parking. I circled around twice including the parking lot by the car wash and State Farm and called Vito's asking for advice where to park and was told Walgreens across the street due to a big party they were having in the basement. Lastly, Vito's has a happy hour menu, the discount used to be better in the past so lately I haven't ordered from it. However, the frustrating part is in the summer the only way to benefit from them is to sit outside on the patio. I wish they allowed for seating for happy hour specials during hot summer months to be inside as well.

The wait time between each varied, so there was about a 15 minute gap between the first and last orders. Not a big deal, but a bit of confusion when the last to order a sausage and pepperoni came out before the second to last order, which had the same pie type. The pies themselves were good size for one to two people and had lots of toppings. The carnitas was the standout and what I would go back for. Neither the pepperoni and sausage or cheese were memorable, but hit the spot nonetheless. Overall, the pizzas probably sit around a 3.5, with most of the group leaving the large doughy crust behind, but enjoying the pizzas. The atmosphere was a 4.5 and I am sure the beers are close to on par or would bring my score up- definitely for next time I come in. She immediately told us the kitchen would be closing in 10 minutes (we arrived at 7:19 and they close at 8), which already made the experience feel a bit rushed. We ordered a deep dish pepperoni and sausage pizza, a Caesar salad, fries, and water. The salad and fries came out quickly and were good, but we waited until 7:52 for the pizza. During that time, several staff members including what seemed to be a manager, were loudly yelling back and forth across the restaurant about staffing and schedules. With no music or TV volume, it was impossible not to hear, and it felt very unprofessional. Meanwhile, our water glasses sat empty. I had to ask three separate times for refills, and the third time I actually had to get up and find our server at the bar, where she was sitting, still discussing the schedule. When the pizza finally arrived, it was delicious. But basic things like Parmesan and pepper weren't offered. I had to flag someone down to ask. And even though we'd just received our food, the lights on the patio were turned off while we were eating, and we were brought a box very quickly, which felt like a not-so-subtle hint to leave. Overall, the food was good, but the customer service and atmosphere really took away from what should have been a nice birthday dinner for my daughter. Very disappointing experience.
