Should I start with the terrible business practices? Or the mediocre food? We'll start with the business practices. Communication is terrible. I made about 4-5 different trips to the pick up location and left with nothing. The delivery is ridiculous. The communication is ridiculous. I had contacted VMP after my payment had been processed and they took a full two business days to respond. This time it was a webmaster issue. The issue the week prior was that their van overheated. It's now two weeks since I should've received my order and I haven't received food, haven't received a refund, and haven't heard a peep from VMP. Even after I escalated the issue via PayPal. This is $171 dollars we're talking about (which after ordering from prepLIFE I find to be ridiculously over priced for the amount of food you get and the quality). The meals are OKAY. The turkey chili is dry, the steak "upgrade" is chewy. Not quality meat. The chicken adobo and Caribbean jerk chicken taste the same except the Adobo has more cilantro. Also, be prepared to have mashed sweet potato with EVERYTHING. VMP's saving grace is their blackened fish which was pretty good. Except it wasn't blackened as opposed to smothered in spices. Still waiting on a response. And still waiting for my refund. read more

I am so happy with our experience so far! Our family wholeheartedly recommends VMP @vernsmealprep. They have a great variety of options in their menu, very healthy and delicious. I'm typically a very positive Yelp reviewer. If I have issues, I go directly to someone in person to help resolve the manner. After multiple attempts of trying to do so, to no avail, I think it's important to inform future customers of my experience. With that said, I will break this review into two sections: 1) for those still willing to give this company a shot, despite the poor reviews and 2) for those who don't want their money stolen. 1) Upon receiving my order, I noticed the macros listed seemed amazing but a little bit of a stretch based off of what I could see. I decided to weigh my food out to verify. Every container had about 20-30% less protein than described and therefore 10-20% less calories than claimed. It was no wonder I was hungry all the time. For those of you who count your macros or depend on food labels for caloric intake, DON'T here. You will lose all of your muscle mass in no time, and might starve along the way. You're also not getting what you've paid for. 2) On May 10th, I excitedly purchased a number of items from Vern's Meal Prep. 10 meals, Protein Cookies, Panna Cotta and the Skinny along with $20 for delivery. On the day of my scheduled delivery, I waited at work from 8:00AM-8:00PM in fear of missing my delivery and spoiling my food. I made multiple attempts of contact to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. Finally, I decided to head home in hopes it would show the following day. On May 11th, Vern arrives with my order and tells me there was a "server error" so they couldn't get my contact information for delivery. (obviously a lie, as I left multiple messages). She also let me know that the Panna Cotta, and the skinny would need to be delivered the following day, as she forgot them (also due to the server being down). It's now May 31st and there still has been no contact of where the rest of my order is and when I will receive the remaining items.That is, what I believe to be $70.00 of my stolen money. I will contact my cc company in hopes to receive a refund. read more

Let me start off by saying not all meal prep companies are created equal. Especially in a sense when it comes to customer service and food quality. Vern's Meal Prep is bar none one of the best! If not THE BEST meal prep company out there in my opinion. I am a current competitor and with the constant changing diet week to week I needed a company I could rely on for my meal prep needs. I found VMP and saw they offered "Protein by the Pound" and I thought to myself perfect! I just needed a company that could prepare the protein for me for the mere sake of time. So, when I can gain that back it pays dividends in the long run especially when it's quality time spent with the family. VMP has truly gone above and beyond my expectations in respect to their customer service. I have not heard of a company that actually checks and follows up with their customers to see how their order was or how the food quality is. VMP actually did this personally for me right from my very first order! As a company, dealing with a high volume of customers and by taking a few moments out of their extremely busy and hectic day, just to check how everything was is nothing short of exceptional customer service! The food quality is exceptional. I order 15 meals for my wife, which she loves along with their breakfast. As for me, it's the white fish and filet mignon in bulk till the conclusion of prep. BUT yes you read that right they offer FILET MIGNON! Cooked perfectly btw. The pricing is good and very competitive with other companies around but if it were up to me, hands down I would refer VMP in a heart beat to anyone looking for a great company with great customer service and food! First time trying out for a meal prep service and the overall experience was not so great. 1. I went to my designated location to pick up and was told the food were not delivered for me. No phone number to reach them at and had to send multiple emails instead to get this sorted out. Then had to make a second attempt (out of my way) to pick up the boxes. 2. the boxes they use are extremely tiny meaning extremely small portions with too much carb and very little veggies. It doesn't justify for the money I paid for (nearly $10/box). 3. The food taste very whatever. You can tell they don't put it into heart when making the meals. I see a little bit of spinach (a few lonely pieces) laying on the bottom of these boxes. It barely meets my required veggies intake per meal. Although they did offer me 15% for the missed first delivery towards my next order, I would not go back. read more

This was my first time ordering with a meal prep company and really wanted to believe that it was going to work out. I ordered my meals 20 minutes passed the deadline but Vern went ahead and added my order to this weeks list. When it came to pick up day (Monday) she texted me saying that there was a delay in getting my meals to my pick up location. She said I will have my meals by Monday afternoon and that she would keep me posted... never did. I had to text her multiple times to see when my meals were ready and finally Tuesday afternoon she replied and said they were ready for pick up. In a prior email she mentioned that the macros are included with each meal but weren't noted on the label. I texted her to see if she could send them to me and she said she will... never got them. I've texted her twice and still no response after two days. It's been a bad experience, even though I tried hard to love this company since it was conveniently located near work. On top of that, I paid an extra $15 for a ketogenic meal plan and from what I could see is that she sprinkled sunflower seeds all over my meals to add "fat". If I'm paying extra for keto, it should be incorporated into the meal not just slapped on top and called a day. read more
