I'm eating the Japanese Stir-fry & Shrimp as I write this and it's TO DIE FOR. Truly, so happy to have found this company. One of the solutions were meal preps. I wouldn't have to decide what to eat for lunch every day and had someone else prepare it for me. Well fast forward to 2021, the scenery may have changed (I've been working from home since March 2020), but the issue still hasn't! I still don't cook for myself every day and sometimes have to make myself something from our freezer or just a sandwich. We were introduced to Meal Prep on the Fly this year. They're family owned and their meals are all low calorie and high protein. The way they work is that you have to put in your order by 11PM on Mondays in order to secure your delivery for Friday that same week. They are based out of Upland and their delivery areas are mostly within the IE, but they do delivery to cities like Monrovia, San Dimas, Pasadena so check their website The delivery service is pretty good. I usually get a text message on Friday morning stating what time my delivery is planned to arrive (1 hour timeframe) then I'll get a second text saying that my delivery driver is on the way and finally a confirmation text that my delivery was completed. We leave a large cooler outside by the front door and they place our meals inside it. Our absolute favorites so far are: ================================= *Blacked shrimp (served with brown rice, black beans and an avocado pineapple salsa - the salsa is so bomb!) *Chicken Cutlet Salad (baked chicken served alongside brussels sprouts, turkey bacon and goat cheese on a bed of mixed greens paired with a honey Dijon vinaigrette - everything about this salad is spot on! LOVE it.) Their meatballs are also really good and we love how they have a variety of different cuisines; they even have Pad Thai and Pancit.

On ambiance, Tastee's Donut (La Verne) is comfortable and clean. The location looks outdated, but it's maintained. There's about four interior tables. And the location felt standard enough. I'm getting a dozen next time. You bet I will. Glazed twist and cinnamon round also made it in the bag. They were very fresh and moist. Not ultra sweet which was good. Size was adequate. Tiffany (the chef) is so reliable and flexible, and the turnaround time is so impressive (no waiting until a certain day of the week to guarantee delivery, unlike other meal prep services). She labels each meal with the name of the dish and calorie count and cooks it all from scratch, customized to your needs - and I've noticed that they keep in the refrigerator for a lot longer than food from other places because of this! I'm a health nut who has one of these meals every time I'm too tired/lazy to cook, and knowing that the food is healthy and made by a local small business is SO much better than getting takeout from Subway or other "healthy" fast food restaurants. Plus, I've never gotten a meal I didn't like. I especially love that I can mix and match plant-based vegan meals with healthy seafood and meat options. Some of my absolute favorite meals are the Cajun shrimp and sausage when I want meat, and the Thai Green Curry when I want something plant-based. All of Tiffany's omelets are also SO FREAKING GOOD. I've been recently looking for a local meal prep shop to help with me eating healthier while saving…read moretime and money and FMD popped up on yelp with overall good reviews. I'm local and I'm all for supporting local small business owners so I decided to give them a try. At the very simplest, FMD does a perfect job of giving you basic, simple meals that are healthy with your macro count. While the pricing may seem a bit on the higher end, I feel like it's nearly perfect for the amount of total calories/macros you get. And remember, at the end of the day, it's all about macros and eating loss (so you can maintain or lose weight) and of course, you are paying someone else to cook. You can order in house at their store, but you can order delivery like I do. FMD's menu is small, simple, and overall, all the entrees are tasty and worth getting over and over. The chicken alfredo and sirloin steak are my two favorites. I do wish the veggies came flavored in someway, like sauteed or even lightly spiced/flavored, or at least the option to. A couple things that make me knock off a star: - Delivery is way overpriced at $10. No local shop that you buy food delivery remotely charges close to that nor are tips even upwards at $10 for local delivery, even on delivery apps like Uber or DD (unless you are a very generous person on delivery apps). I would understand if delivery price changes based on distance/location, but it's a flat fee. - Despite the website stating weekly subscriptions get a discount, it doesn't. I've reached out to FMD via email in the past but haven't heard anything. - I really do like FMD's sirloin steak. It's basic, the flavor is good, and it is the right cut of meat, but somehow, it always seems partially overcooked/burned on the edges. The inside is always tender. It's just the outer crust always comes burned/black and you can taste it. - I do wish that the main entrees (chicken alfredo, Penne Bolognese, etc) came much higher in protein over carbs. For example, a few more slices of chicken and less penne pasts in the chicken alfredo. It would be a much healthier option can cater towards the "fit" aspect of dieting where we should be consuming much higher proteins over carbs. I really do like FMD and I hope at some point some of my feedback will make some changes.
