The gelato is velvety & soft with prominent flavor profiles. It's tasty. (Important Note: Bring cash. Card has a small additional fee, about 3.5% extra. Also, there's no flavor sampling.) I arrived at Il Gusto (West Covina) on Monday (around 7:29pm). This location shares the busy parking plaza by 85 Degrees (West Covina). Fortunately, it was easy to find parking this evening. Staff is professional and helpful. Staff worked quickly, and staff answered all my questions. Line went very fast despite a group being ahead of me. As mentioned, I ordered the Medium Cup (2 Scoops - $8). I selected a milk chocolate scoop and a cookies-flavored scoop. Portion sizes are fair and adequate for its quality. The flavors are delicious. The milk chocolate scoop reminded me of rich, dark chocolate milk. Its consistency felt very velvety, and its strong chocolate flavor almost teetered towards chocolate brownie territory. The cookie-flavored scoop was very tasty as well. This scoop flowed smoothly, and I happily enjoyed the soft cookie chunks within. This had a milder taste, but it felt very satisfying. This gelato was not icy; rather, it had delightful flavors while flowing like chilled silk. Concerning ambiance, Il Gusto (West Covina) shows genuine effort. The location is very clean and well-ventilated (refreshingly chill). I also enjoyed the Elvis Presley music. However, the music was occasionally drowned out from the loud electronic buzzing/humming sounds from the kitchen's containers. Also, some portions of the walls and floors looked scuffed with black marks. Il Gusto (West Covina) is also fairly small. It has three reflective tables inside; customer-only restroom; and three nearby shaded tables outside. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Il Gusto (West Covina). Its prices are adequate, the gelato is a good quality, and the staff is hardworking & helpful. If nearby, I recommend. 4.6 out of 5

The best gelato I've ever had was in Europe. This was pretty close. Super smooth and not too sweet…read more Tastes very natural. Staff was very friendly. I'm bummed that they didn't give samples. Establishment was very clean and inviting. Great place for dessert!

I must have done something great with my life since these worldly spirits know just how to treat me and cheer up me up. Now I have a go-to sweets place during my lunch break or as a after-work treat. Deliciously Freedom USA definitely lives up to the name because yes sir reeeee yes I did feel freed from all my worries after I took a bite of their delicious funnel cake. I got their classic strawberry glaze funnel cake (thats how I always gotta do it) and made a friend try it with me since their portions were huge. Now I understand I have to act like a lady (I was at work during my lunch break) and even though I have the appetite of a small bear going into hibernation, I did restrain myself to only eat half of the funnel cake. And lemme tell you, it looks just as good as it tastes. The crunchy texture of the fried funnel cake exterior, to the fluffy, light, and almost heavenly pile of whip cream, with the sweet tartiness flavor of the strawberry - this is another reason for me to looovvvve life. They make the best funnel cakes here, even better than at the county fairs - yes I said it! Even. Better. Than. The. Fairs! Yes. Delicious Freedom USA - you have earned a loyal customer who will always be planning her return and trying to convince more friends to share the delight of your funnel cakes. Thank you and I will see you soon!

The ice cream probably is fine, but the açaí smoothie definitely is not it. Came out lukewarm &…read moremostly milk and they used an unripe banana basically as far away from any traditional açaí as possible. Not quite what I would expect for a $10 smoothie 100% would go to Jamba Juice any other day and I hate big chains, but at least they can somewhat respect what things are. It makes me feel borderline offended for all of my family in Maui. Also, this is not the fault of the person who made my smoothie. He seemed like he was doing the best he can, but had to follow the recipe and had a manager breathing go for his back the whole time I asked about adding some passionfruit to it because we were already so far away from a standard açaí smoothie. And just to add a half scoop of passionfruit they were going to charge me another five dollars plus tax making it a $16 smoothie which is basically just açai flavored milk that's not even frozen. Also keep in mind this was ordered in late July in the middle of summer. You'd think they would try to make a cold drink for that time. It honestly makes me scared for the quality of their açai bowls. They also refused to do half scoops of ice cream additions into the smoothie as I was just wondering if they would again because this smoothie is not what was advertised. If we were in Alabama, that would probably be OK. The problem is this is California and there's a lot of people from Polynesia and Hawaii and other areas where proper açai bowls and the smoothie used for an açai bowl exists. *update* I went back and begged the manager if they could please just add some ice and blend it up considering it 100° outside and I didn't want warm açai flavored milk and she refused to help me and just called the person who made it who was on his break so it took several minutes for him to even get back and he didn't even re-blend it he just threw like five chunks of ice like barely a scoop of ice on top of it, even though they had three Pro blenders in the store and we're already using one of them for other things so it worked for sure. It felt like pulling teeth asking to have my $10 smoothie re-blended with ice.

We're always excited to try new flavours and figure out our best personal combinations. The people there are so smiley, and helpful! I admire how enthusiastic they stay even during evenings when there is a long line. I'd have to say there's always a very faint stranger odor in the place. Almost like spoiled milk. It's damp, warm and very faint. The fan that turns on when someone opens the door is obnoxiously loud too. The last time we went, we had lemon and grape nerds in a quart. Brought it back home for our weekly snack. Unfortunately, I found pieces of plastic in the lemon part. I thought it'd just be a single piece so I continued eating, and realized they were spread throughout. I also thought it might be the skin of the lemon. So, we washed it, pulled it and it definitely did not break like lemon skin, but stretched like plastic. Other than that, love Rita's
