We have been long consumers of Meal Plans. Living a busy work schedule and not having much time to cook a decent meal was a disaster for our waist line due to eating out a lot. So we decided to give the meal plan a try again since we always have been successful in losing weight while on the plans. I understand that this a small start up business but they should have not only created a menu and put it out there and get reviews first to see what people think about the food that they make. We ordered lunch for our business and unfortunately I have to be honest the rice was hard and it looked like that rice you make in a bag it was just not in a bag the chicken was dry and you can tell that the vegetables of were out of a frozen bag. Our team was not pleased but maybe they got feedback and made this better today then two months ago . This review is so overdue! Forgive me! But I need to first start out by saying Rivas meals is amazing! Puma and his team catered our wedding back in August and did an amazing job at it. Their service and hospitality was amazing and the food was 5 star delicious! We have had family and friends that have told us (even months after) that it was the best wedding meal they've ever had! I've been using Rivas Meals every other week for a couple of weeks now and this has been my favorite meal prep company so far. In the past I have tried Fit Foods Redlands, Freshly, My Healthy Penguin, and Nutrifit (the family fare meals) - Rivas family meals (3 different meals per week, 4 servings each meal, for about $80 including delivery) are by far are the tastiest, most flavorful as well as the most cost efficient meals out of the companies I have tried. Each serving ends up being less than $7!! The servings are also decent sized - I have a huge appetite (eg I can eat a Chipotle burrito or burrito bowl in one sitting, no problem) but each serving, though doesn't make me full, does satisfy me. Also, what is different about Rivas is that they don't have an actual pre-made menu. You just let them know what ingredients/meals you dislike and they make sure to avoid your dislikes. read more

Rivas meals are amazing and a life saver. We started Rivas when my mom, who has Alzheimer's came to live with us. I enjoyed the food so much more than I thought I would. My favorite was the meatloaf with mashed potatoes! Omg! It was so delicious. Beat of all my mom enjoyed everything! My mom recommended this place. I live in Irvine and they don't deliver to my area but I figured I could visit my mom and pick up the delivered meals every Sunday. My wife was looking to eat healthier and tone up so we tried the Keto meals. Initially I thought they tasted real good but wanted to try other meal prep services. I tried Freshly and although the taste was good, they reminded more of TV dinner style meals or frozen meals you could pick up at the grocery. I tried a few other local services but ended up back with Rivas meals. The freshness is significantly noticeable. The quality and flavor is far superior then any other meal prep service. It doesn't feel like you are restricting your diet all. The variety changes each week. My wife loses about 1.5 lbs a week (2lbs if she's really strict). We enjoy having healthy options all week without the hassle of planning meals. With food delivery services charging fees that add up, financially this makes much more sense and is a much healthier option. read more

I received 3 "family" meals from a friend when I had surgery....the food smelled really good when it was delivered...you knew it was freshly made. I reheated the food when we were ready to eat them......all 3 meals were absolutely delicious (stuffed bell peppers and rice, pork roast with roasted veggies and mashed potatoes, chicken and pasta). I'm very impressed with Rivas Meals. Very convenient to order from. They don't have a set menu, but I don't mind. It's a nice surprise to see what I'm having for dinner for the week. I do the family meal, so I don't have to cook for the week. I just portion out meals for our lunches and dinners, and it works out great. Food is very tasty and similar to what I would cook, if I had the time. The meals are balanced with a protein, grain, and vegetables. This week, I had a tray of lasagna with, I believe, was ground turkey. They also threw in some spinach. 2nd tray had beef, couscous and veggies. 3rd tray had chicken breast, rice and cauliflower. It's plenty of food and very tasty. I used to use a couple of other meal preps, but it's still work and clean up. Here, all I do is package up my food in portions for the week. Very simple and easy. Also, Alex is great about delivering to my office, which is great. With some of the other food services, I was never quite sure which day my food would arrive and I was concerned about spoilage. read more
