For health reasons, our family was looking for healthier eating options and the first restaurant…read morethat came to mind was Dr Grubb's in Claremont. From the moment we stepping into Dr Grubb's, we felt genuinely welcomed by the owner! As first time customers, he greeted us with a warm smile and generously offered free drinks and cheese bread. The cheese bread is a MUST try!! The bread is toasted to perfection and the melted cheese added extra flavor to the delicious sauce that it came with! The owner's hospitality immediately set the tone for an unforgettable meal. What truly impressed us was how he took the time to recommend the best dishes for our family of 5, patiently explaining the ingredients and recommended flavors to try. Every single dish he suggested came out perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor! The portions are generous too, no one in our family left without feeling stuffed! Everything tasted freshly made to order, nothing frozen. The blackened shrimp was perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The salmon we ordered was seared with a crispy texture, and seasoned with the perfect amount of spice to give it a more flavorful taste. The steak was tender and well seasoned. The jalapeño sauce was our favorite, it was spicy but not overbearing. Beyond the owner's culinary guidance, we couldn't help but admire his hardworking demeanor, leading his staff by example. Humbly sweeping floors, cleaning tables, and managing orders all with genuine kindness and a positive attitude. It was evident he cared about both his staff and his customers, creating a clean, spotless, welcoming, and well-run environment where families can enjoy a nice meal. This isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience! Thank you sincerely to the owner and his staff for a wonderful dinner and top notch service! We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!!

You can pick from an assortment of bases, proteins, and sauces to make the ultimate dish. I never leave feeling bloated or sick. The service here is amazing, the food is just as good, and the feeling after is the best. There is indoor and outdoor seating, you grab a number and they'll bring your food out to you. My personal favorite is the blackened salmon with the penne pasta base. Sauce is always hard to choose and I end up picking a different one every time (haven't been disappointed yet!). Overall, Dr Grubb's gets an 8/10, with a 10/10 on the post-workout meal scale!

The bread was soft and delicious, and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. The staff was friendly and quick, and the whole place had a clean, welcoming vibe. Service was fast but still attentive, which made the experience even better. If you're looking for a good sandwich spot with great quality and service, I definitely recommend this place. I'll be coming back for sure!

Came through and had to leave a review. I ordered online and the process was actually pretty smooth…read moreand easy. No issues, no confusion and I was in and out. Walking into the establishment, the atmosphere was clean and organized. It didn't feel chaotic even though they were a little busy. There wasn't much of a greeting when I walked in, but it wasn't a big deal they seemed focused on getting orders out. Pickup was simple and straightforward. Now let's talk about the food. The lobster mac was the highlight. They were not shy with the lobster with generous chunks throughout. That was a major plus. Nothing worse than ordering lobster mac and getting tiny flakes. This one actually delivered. Creamy, rich, and the lobster pieces made every bite worth it. The clam chowder was creamy and had a nice texture, but it was a bit mediocre overall. Mainly because there weren't enough clams in it, and it came without oyster crackers which feels like a must with chowder. Flavor was decent, just needed a little more substance. The sourdough bread, though? That was a treat. They were not stingy with it. Nice chewy texture, fresh, and flavorful. It definitely elevated the meal and honestly might have been my favorite part alongside the lobster mac. Overall, solid experience. A few small things that could improve, like more meat, but the generous lobster and that sourdough bread make it worth coming back.

Some Crust on the Claremont Village is still my go-to place for specialty cakes…read more I ordered a 65th birthday cake for my coworker a week ago Tuesday in person. Devin helped me to fill out the order form. It's a 9 inch round black and white cake, with raspberry jam filling and buttercream frosting. My coworker is stylish and always has her hair makeup and nails perfect so I thought elegant with pink and white roses. (The gold Happy Birthday candle I added for 3D effect and was not included.) I scheduled for 7 a.m. pickup today. There was the usual morning rush at the bakery but I was still in and out of there within 15 minutes. It turned out great!! My coworker was super happy and as always the cake itself is moist and delicious, not overly sweet. Well done, Some Crust, and thank you!

We had the absolute BEST experience with Some Crust Bakery for our wedding cake and desserts…read more Everyone we worked with was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they truly LISTENED to what we wanted. They sent us several mock-ups with colors and design styles throughout the process so we could see and approve of every little detail. We did two rounds of tastings (one at the shop and another at home) and coordinating the second round to finalize our flavors was super easy. Also, they coordinated directly with our florist to incorporate live flowers that perfectly matched the butter cream florals on the cake and the flowers on my dress. Another bakery (Cucamonga Cakery... yikes) told us this would be impossible and tried to make us feel dumb for wanting it. Some Crust made it happen EASILY. They brought our vision to life and the cake was seriously stunning! And the taste is so light and fresh! Special shoutout to Gabrielle for her quick responses, positive attitude, and overall amazing service throughout the entire process. She took care of us every step of the way. Thank you!!

The space is fully covered, so you can enjoy being outside without the sun hitting you, perfect vibe. A few people in our group ordered sangrias and other drinks, and everything was great. But the real standout was the Peruvian ceviche such a hidden gem. Super fresh, flavorful, and honestly one of the best dishes we had. Our server was attentive and really helpful, and the food came out quickly, which we appreciated. I just wish I had taken pictures of everything because it looked as good as it tasted. Definitely coming back.

A little older on style but quaint. Im sure at night with fire-pit nearby and giant lamps on, wonderful & cozy Service: 8 / 10 Attentive, checked on us, offered suggestions that worked out. Surprised us with birthday cakes!! ( Mother in-laws & mine) Food: Duck Tacos - 8 / 10 Surprisingly great flavor and would order again for quick bite if I came back Tuna Tartare - 5 / 10 Happy they chose to pair with wonton chips, but the sauce and the flavor altogether just missed the mark. Shocked to say that Lime & Salt & even Yard House blew this app out of the water. Manila Clam Chowder: 7 / 10 Chunky, creamy, but too Salty. They added bacon not chopped up in the chowder, but instead thrown on top as if it fell onto the bowl on it's way out of the kitchen prep (see pic) Calamari: 7 / 10 Basic breading and could have been better if sauces paired were complimentary but they were not. They offered 1 sauce that just tasted like a watered down Zested shallot, the other I think is like a thinned out marinara. Both did not enhance the app, but actually made it less appetizing. Fresh Pappardelle w/Chicken: 5 / 10 Great portion of protein to pasta, but heavily lacked flavor. I've had pasta with no sauce, just simple olive oil, but this dish...not like those. Unfortunately, tasted bland. Wild Alaskan Salmon: 8 / 10 It was crispy but not sure if that was what they were going for or it was a tad overcooked. But the flavor was great, quinoa pairing worked. I get the need for colorful presentation too, but they could have gone w/less tomatoes and instead more of the mangos & perhaps added cucumbers for a more fresh & colorful approach Chilean Seabass: 7 / 10 Description was "Pepper crusted..saffron Asparagus Risotto...Orange Glaze w\Vanilla Bean cream sauce" First bite was like a basic white fish. 4 bites later, then I finally tasted a hint of pepper crust (not all over as I hoped because it enhanced the flavor so much!) The Asparagus risotto base was a huge disappointment--I would have enjoyed this fish more with roasted veggies, because I was hyped up to experience an 'Orange glaze w/Vanilla bean cream sauce " in the risotto, but instead tasted like bland porridge with 2 bits of asparagus chunks that I think they could have left out. It was a shame, I also did not taste any orange glaze anything. *For such a high price point on these main entrees and salads-- I had expectations for their dishes to be refined & elevated. This would work best at a $22/plate experience not the $50+ range they are charging.
