She then called the owner again to try my credit card this time and she was told no because my driver's license was from AZ not CA. I told her I'd never had a problem paying for ANYTHING with my AZ driver's license. I called the owner, Lisa, and told her I was going to report her to the Better Business Bureau for trying to scam people and for the way she's conducting business. My vehicle was removed from private property (22658 CVC) which was my fault and yes I need to pay the towing and the storage fees. I HAVE NO PROBLEM with that. What came AFTER is where this all gone wrong. I called them when I was on my way and outside of their business to confirm that I may pick up the vehicle under my company's name and my business partner's name (my business partner currently not available and my registration CLEARLY states Company Name OR Business Partner's Name). I was told yes but I needed a letterhead from my company. So fine, I went back to type up a letterhead but unfortunately with traffic and everything this place was closed after I came back. I called the next day while I was on my way and I wanted to make sure the letterhead is all I need and then I was told that my vehicle need current registration. They have NO RIGHT to require this since my vehicle was towed under California Vehicle Code section 22658 CVC. But they refused to allow me to take out my vehicle and required me to go to DMV to get current registration. They know that the DMV line is SUPER long and it will be impossible to get the registration the same day so they can rack me up on MORE storage fees. I went to the DMV and unfortunately the line was too long and by the time 5:00 PM came around the DMV office said they can't take in anymore customers and I will need to be back the next day. So the next day came and I got my current registration up to date. Okay so hopefully now I can get my vehicle. I go back and hand them my LEGAL STATE OF CALIFORNIA VEHICLE TITLE which I filled out with my information to transfer to as well because this legal document will have my name and well AND I have my company letterhead with my signature and myself as the CEO. Guess WHAT? They then come up with an excuse and said this document is NOT LEGAL and because I have placed my name there they will not give me the car because I am not the Company Name OR Business Partner's Name. Mind you I am the CEO of the company and a letterhead was signed and this dumb lady who denied my paperwork said you printed a letterhead and signed it yourself. WELL NO SHIT. I AM THE CEO and of course I will sign it myself. She said do I have legal proof to show I am the CEO? I don't need it because the LAW DOESN'T REQUIRE IT. Then she said well you started the vehicle transfer paper and it has your name but it needs to show on DMV. What a dumb lady, all paperwork with or without the title filled out has my company name and my name on it. She STILL DENIED IT. Argued with me and required me to go to DMV AGAIN! This place is SCAMMING people! ALSO they take cash only on transactions they want to take cash only for. I paid credit card. When I was there I heard someone else denied because they required cash. What they did was ILLEGAL. Per California Vehicle Code 22658(q) cvc it clearly states that a TITLE is sufficient enough to get the vehicle out. (A vehicle removed and stored pursuant to this section shall be released by the law enforcement agency, impounding agency, or person in possession of the vehicle, or any person acting on behalf of them, to the legal owner or the legal owner's agent upon presentation of the assignment, as defined in subdivision (b) of Section 7500.1 of the Business and Professions Code; a release from the one responsible governmental agency, only if required by the agency; a government-issued photographic identification card; and any one of the following as determined by the legal owner or the legal owner's agent: a certificate of repossession for the vehicle, a security agreement for the vehicle, or title, whether paper or electronic, showing proof of legal ownership for the vehicle. Any documents presented may be originals, photocopies, or facsimile copies, or may be transmitted electronically. The storage facility shall not require any documents to be notarized. The storage facility may require the agent of the legal owner to produce a photocopy or facsimile copy of its repossession agency license or registration issued pursuant to Chapter 11 (commencing with Section 7500) of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code, or to demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the storage facility, that the agent is exempt from licensure pursuant to Section 7500.2 or 7500.3 of the Business and Professions Code.). I used this tow service through AAA because my car got in a wreck. The good: 5 stars to the guy who towed my wrecked car. He was very nice, even dropped me off at a nearby restraunt because it was night and I needed a safe place to wait for a ride home. The bad: I went in today to get the rest of my belongings out of my car. The lady at the front desk was nice. But i felt that the guy who showed me to the car was really rude. I had a lot of other stuff in my car I needed to get out. He told me to hurry up because he doesn't have all day. I was trying to take my seat covers off and he said "dont bother, the car will be fixed". Well guess what Sir, I DON'T KNOW THAT YET. My car is smashed. Im still waiting on my insurance to decide if it's fixable or not. I didn't even get to get everything i wanted out of my car, thanks to this guy. The driver did not wear a mask, almost fell asleep at the wheel, had to roll the window down in 90 degree weather to stay awake, complained the entire time about working 72 hours a week for minimum wage, complained about not getting a break or lunch. Told me he only had a apple and cookie to eat all day and it was 3pm. Just a warning these drivers are allowed to smoke or vape while driving on the job. Called the company to question their policies and the gentleman who answered said they don't mind as long as there isn't a customer present. Disgusting policy. I called AAA to make an appointment for battery service. I was given a certain time for the appointment, as I explained to the representative that I was coming from work and it would take me at a minimum of 40 minutes to cet to the auto repair shop where my car was. Today I had to call about 5 time before I would get help and when I was finally being assisted both women I spoke with were extremely rude and aggressive. When I called back the same person answered once again I start asking my question in regards to their operation hours and their protocols she begins to respond aggressively by raising her voice and she was not even sure herself on the questions I was asking. My car was towed here..I went down to pay the fee's of $331 to get my car out.Once I paid the fees I was told to go to another place to pick up my car..Once I got there I watch the guy they sent over to help me take my battery out my car then he came back to me and told I would have to get the car told off the lot for another $65. The workers are taking things out of people's cars before you get to your vehicle. I then call the Norwalk police station gave them my Vin number and on the police report it stated that everything was still Attach to the car accept the Cadillac converter so the driver took my battery I seen him put it in the back of his truck then I had to pay $65 after they took my battery out my car.Then I ask can I just go buy another battery and put it in the car I was told no I wasn't allowed to work on cars on the lot but I watched them have a car action and allowed ppl to put batteries and also have other cars a jump..but I had to pay them $65 to have my car pulled of the lot to the streets..This place needs to be shut down and I'm gonna report them to the BBB good luck to anybody car that gets towed to this lot read more

Stay away from this place at all cost! We paid our fees with our card, then we decided we needed to leave our van for another day at which time the lady told us cash only. I am pretty sure she wanted lunch money for the office. Once we told her we had just used our debit card she changed her tune. Additionally, my husband and I had to listen to one of their employees threaten and yell at one of their own drivers about getting in a accident in their truck. My advice: STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!! This company is run by thieves and crooks. We had a vehicle stolen from our property that was in PNO status, meaning we had not been driving nor planned on driving it. The LA County Sheriff found the vehicle and had Vernola's tow it to their yard. When we went to claim the vehicle they stated not only did we have to pay an outrageous towing fee of $486, plus $37/day it was in the yard, but we MUST take the vehicle out of PNO status with the DMV, pay to register the vehicle including any fines, and get the vehicle street legal to drive, including SMOG. I called the County Sheriff to ask if that was legal, and was informed it was not but that since it was now in was in Vernola's possession there was nothing they could do since it was now a civil matter. Vernola's Towing knows the likelihood someone is going to sue them over a vehicle is small, so they illegally take advantage of victims as well as non-victims. Vernola's breaks the law with towed vehicles. Vernola's Tow advertised a Lien Sale for 2/7/19 10 am. On 2/7/2019, Vernola's Tow refused to hold the sale or even allow review, violating CVC 3072. They said they don't hold public sales for old RVs, they just junk them. They make money hand over fist for vehicles towed for the government, but don't bother to follow the law for old vehicles. Just had a tow from Lester and he was one of the best tow drivers! I was already having a tough day and car trouble to top it off. He was so polite, friendly and super funny! Made me forget my troubles and made me laugh. He was the only person who ever asked for my special Volvo tow hook which protects it. Volvo's are unique cars to handle and I was impressed with how well he took care of it and knew what to do when others had not. We're 43 yr AAA members, so we've had a lot of experience with tow drivers. Lester is a true gem! If you need a tow, be sure to request him. Their policy is to only allow one person empty out the TOTALED vehicle. Really? Why? And if you forgot forgot something you couldn't go back the next day to retrieve it. Towing companies are bad news... If your car got towed however it's not their fault. Someone called to have your car towed :) My truck got towed there, they were however nice and reasonable price wise. Paid 220 vs 380 (last time I got towed by someone else). Car door was in good condition when I got to the car, they were gentle in opening the door, which is good.
