This is an area we are unfamiliar with and let alone we ended up pulling into this sketchy area as it was the closest off the freeway. It was so scary and we had to abandon our vehicle due to not being able to get roadside service right away. My family and I had to leave our vehicle behind an alley and run to find a safe place to find a tow company. I called a few places and they told them our situation and they were quoting $600+ plus to tow and drive us back to the Valley. I ended up finding Hawks via Yelp and decided to give them a call. I ended up speaking with a nice individual and he quoted us half the price. They came to our rescue and had to bring a flatbed due to the type of vehicle we had. He drove us all the way from Lynwood to the Valley. I was so impressed by the excellent service I received. The street the truck had to be towed from was a two way busy street in Downey on Downey Ave. I didn't know how the truck was going to be able to get towed since the traffic in the evening there never stops and the position the truck was parked made it seem it would be difficult. AM PM Towing gets there and Richard helps us, it took him less than 10 minutes to get the truck onto his tow truck. I was so amazed by how fast he did evening. He was very kind and professional. I am extremely disappointed with this towing company. My vehicle was involved in an accident, and…read morethe police department dispatched this company to tow it -- I did not choose or hire them myself. Although my vehicle already had accident-related damage, I noticed significantly more damage after it was towed. My vehicle flip over and their way to turn it into its normal position was by dragging it across the street . I am aware there is a special equipment to flip a vehicle to its normal position. However this company didn't care about damaging the rest of my vehicle. As of now my vehicle was declared total damage ( accident related PLUS the severe damage from dragging it across the street) My vehicle was a 2025 model. While it did sustain damage from the accident, I observed substantially more damage after it was towed. The damage resulting from how my vehicle was handled was extensive and appeared beyond repair. The entire side of the vehicle had its moldings broken and was scraped from bumper to bumper. Notably, this was not the side impacted in the accident. The damage was clearly distinct from the original collision. I have video evidence showing the drivers improperly handling my vehicle during the tow. The way my car was treated appeared careless and unprofessional. While they were towing it in my presence, we saw the driver struggling and next thing you know a second man showed up in personal car to assist( assuming it was the owner ) . my husband attempted to stop them . The driver dismissively told him to "let him do his job," rather than communicating respectfully or reassuring us. When I went to their office to address the additional damage, the receptionist. was rude and dismissive. Instead of showing concern or offering assistance, she told me to "just go ahead and dispute it with my insurance and that she has to leave already , than she preceded to walk into her cubicle office and literally let me standing . That response demonstrated a clear lack of accountability. I also submitted a formal written letter outlining my concerns. It has now been five months, and I have yet to receive any response. The lack of communication and follow-up speaks volumes. Since this company is partnered with the police department and was dispatched through them, I expected professionalism and responsibility. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. This Tow company is very careless . Not mention their fees was over $500 for one night . When I suggested the driver to tow the vehicle to my home and he mentions it would be cheaper to the towing yard . I strongly recommend documenting your vehicle thoroughly before and after any tow. Based on my experience, I would NEVER trust them with my vehicles again .
