I thought man this place must be bad. But when I needed my fork lift towed from Norwalk to Santa Fe Springs,to my new location, It made practical sense to call them. I experienced, nothing but polite good service, from the Vernola's driver. Prices were about the same as anywhere else. The woman Lisa quoted me on the spot and when the receipt came is was exactly as quoted. So I have no complaints. This towing company is extremely difficult to deal with and very unreasonable. First, they towed our pickup truck without leaving any notice at the parking spot -- we had no idea where the vehicle went. Second, the registered owner is my father-in-law, who doesn't live in California. The company required a notarized release letter from him, which he promptly did and sent with a wet signature. However, they refused to accept a scanned copy and insisted on waiting for the original mailed document, which caused unnecessary delays -- all while continuing to charge daily storage fees. Third, their business hours are extremely limited -- only open on weekends from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. If you can't pick up your car during those two hours, they keep charging you more storage fees. In the end, we were forced to pay over $1,000 just to get our own vehicle back. There are way too many negative reviews here so my review is gonna be a drop in the ocean. But the way they systematically set up their policy is to get money from desperate people. 1. They have two offices with different office hour if you call them at a certain time, for example in the morning when people are the most desperate to get to work, you would have to go to their headquarter at a different location completely not walkable just to pay. Then you have to go to another location where they keep the car for release. 2. I took my husband's car and the registration is under his name, but I'm also the authorized user on our insurance. They require that you have a hard copy of notarized letter saying that I can pick up the car. I'm here briefly for a business trip and my husband is in a different state. In this case. There is no way to retrieve your car in 1 day. The notary comes obviously which will take us several days if not another day to have your car in the towing company, which then they will incur another charge. 3. I have all the paperwork to show them such as my marriage certificate my name change petition from my maiden name to my current name. I have hard copy of my ID. I have a credit card that supports that I am a legitimate person trying to release my car. It's very unreasonable how they only require hardcopy of notarized release letter. If you're extremely unlucky, and if my husband is out of the country to support all this document, I would have no other choice, but to give up the car to this company because the daily charge will surpass the value of the car eventually. I'm pretty sure other reviews will support my claims here, and this is beyond any reasonable business policies and what they're doing is clearly frivolous. Called AAA and this was the towing company who answered the call for a flat tire. Very unprofessional, more than 45 minutes late then made up his own rule. He left without towing the car. My 17 yo son was driving one of our cars. Got a flat tire and called AAA. VERNOLA'S came more than 45 minutes late from estimated arrival, then told my son I needed to be physically present for him to tow the car. My son showed the car registration which had both my husband and I's name but he still refused and insisted I be present. I asked to be transferred to his supervisor but he just got off the phone and left. I called AAA for another towing provider but unfortunately there was no one available but Vernolos. I drove over 2 hrs so I can show my ID to the towing company so he would tow the car. Pls do not use this company. They are unreasonable and lack common sense. They are not friendly nor reliable. I was towed by Vernolas last August when I totaled my car. The police called them, and they did show up promptly but then left me on the side of the road during a heat wave of 105 degrees after blacking out and smashing my face into the steering wheel. They didn't ask or offer to drive me the 4 miles home before taking my car to their lot. I had to walk and made it about a mile before almost passing out at a Carl's Jr. To top it off, when I went to retrieve my personal effects from my car, they sat there with a timer and told me I had 15 minutes to grab everything from my vehicle. They then made me carry everything in my arms to the front of the lot while their employee sat in an air-conditioned van driving alongside me. The accident was bad enough. Guys! (Guys= Everyone reading this lol) my car was stolen a few days ago and was found this morning at 2am. The place where it was towed to was Vernola's Towing. I called at 230am (right after the police officer informed me my car was recovered) and the person that answered said I had to wait until 8am when they opened. Nooooooo! I wanted my car now! I was excited and nervous to see in what shape my baby Ruby was in. BUT I had to wait. So I got there at 7:50am. The window opened at 8am. I provided the person the police report and my driver's license as she asked for it. She has me wait. Then comes back and tells me I have to go to the Norwalk Sheriffs station to get the release paperwork! Really? They couldn't have told me that over the phone to avoid me having to go there only to be sent somewhere else to then come back!? Ugh. Anyway I went and got the release form (which btw is literally my name and license plate number and who handed me the form with that information. I was like I could have wrote that myself!) Anyway. I had to pay $182 to get MY car that was STOLEN! This is so not fair. They only had it for a few hours aaaaand they are part of AAA so if they towed it and we're charging for the tow why couldn't I get a discount since I have AAA for 5 years!? They illegally towed my motorcycle from my apartment. Broke the kickstand and damaged my fairings. When I told them about it they denied it. I haven't registered the bike but I had the pink slip. They made me register the bike and come back. When I came back they told me I couldn't take it out I needed someone with a valid M1 license. It's 125cc you don't need a M1 for anything 125 and under. It was a Honda grom. So they wanted to keep it, the lady then told me they can drop it off instead. So I agreed (I live 1 minute away right around the corner) they charged me 300 for the bike release and 250 for the tow. I spent just around 900+ that day registering my bike and getting it out. I went through hell to get my bike and got it back damaged. The lady in the front is rude. They illegally took my bike out of MY parking spot at MY home. On 10/21/24 I was involved in a traffic collision requiring the use of a AAA towing service. Vernola's tow was dispatched and driver, Joshua, arrived on scene. Joshua arrived on scene with an angry demeanor and demanded to see proof of AAA membership prior to providing any assistance. Joshua asked if the car was drivable to which I explain to him that the car only drove forward and back, but could not physically turn due to damage from the collision. Joshua then purposely parked his tow truck at an unreasonable distance and angle from my vehicle before telling me to drive my damaged vehicle to the rear of his tow truck. I explained that this action would cause more unnecessary damage to my vehicle and I was unable to move the vehicle to his desired location due to where he parked his truck. Joshua became very upset and sat inside of his truck and began communicating via his in truck radio. Joshua then came out with an ipad in hand and said that more money would need to be paid (an additional $12 per mile) because the desired destination was behind the 7 mile, free drop off limit. I and the members in my group had ran various different routes to my house, all requiring less than 7 miles of total travel. Joshua was explained that I would not need a tow beyond 7 miles to which he rolled his eyes, scoffed and stated that his ipad said otherwise. I showed him the map on my phone to which he returned to his truck several times then reluctantly agreed to tow the vehicle. After being involved in a traumatic collision that resulted in injuries, I found his behavior, commentary, attitude, and service absolutely unacceptable and demeaning. My family no longer felt comfortable with him being in possession of the custody and care of my vehicle and requested that I wait for another drive instead of leaving my car with him. When explaining to him that I would rather wait for another truck, he laughed, said "okay?" and radio'd that I no longer needed his help before speeding off through the parking lot, almost hitting several pedestrians. They stored it for 10 days, meanwhile I still was not notified that the trailer was there, NOR was I allowed to pick it up, as per the Sheriff, since it was stolen and needed to be processed. When I arrived to pick it up. Vernolas hit me with a bill of $993.00 for towing and storage. This is not only price gauging, it's a completely unethical business practice. My car was towed by this place and I had my keys on me during the time and the tow truck driver messed with my transmission and my car keeps getting stuck in neutral now. I have a fairly newer car and my car has NEVER had issues with shifting gears. Even when I picked up my vehicle it was stuck in neutral and it wouldn't get out of gear. They had to call someone from their team to assist with fixing it.
