Horrible customer service from top to bottom, spent 5 hours just to g egg an Apple Watch activated and was told they are closing and they can't finish the job, was extremely upset about that but the sales person told me she would call me in the morning so we would not have to restart all over. Come next morning they never call me, and I still have an unusable Apple Watch. When I called 611 for help the people were running into glitched in there system and instead of figuring it out, 3 separate tech support people decided to hang up on me as it was to much work for them. They wouldn't even transfer me to a supervisor, just kept getting hung up on. This is also a business account that has20+ lines on it, and they trusty did not care at all about customer service. Still extreme mad the sales person never called me back!!! Oh, and on top of that you can't even just call your local store! Only corporate sales team people will answer if you call the store after 20 min of waiting. Awful experience all around. My family plan contract was up and I needed new phones for myself and my parents. I walked up into this store properly greeted by the manager and was checked in. I told them it's hard for me to see my parents and this was the only time we could all get together to do this 'trade-in' deal, I already had my number switched from a different carrier to verizon AND my parents where there with their old phones AND the new phones in hand from a different Verizon store prior to this visit. All i basically wanted to do was switch the old numbers from the old carriers to the new phones with verizon. I already had the new phones in hand. Literally, all Maria did was take the new smart phone turn it on in front of us and take it to the back and had us wait ONE WHOLE HOUR. with no notification of time or how long or what was even going on she just kept walking to the back. My dad had asked the check in how long, they said 30m...i would expect her to take the phones to switch the phone numbers to the new phone buuut nope. The way this store is set up is that they take the phones to the back behind the door, then come out with everything...well, they didn't come out with anything done and i had to walk out because it should have not taken that long and i was going to be late for work. I walked up to the manager to complain and he phones Maria to bring the phone out. Another person comes out and says it would take 1-2 hours ... and that she could call maria out to explain why it would take 2 hours...at that point, to me, it did not matter,...because my time was wasted and was terribly handled by management. whuuu....ok. not even an apology from the manager of how frustrated we were. I get to work and notice that all the phones have no internet or could not make any calls....i went to the original place to where i got my phone, and they handled it. it did not take two hours... but i had to take phones away from my parents. which was very inconvenient because they do not live with me. idk, maybe they didn't care because I spent money at a different verizon location but they should have not treated a new contact member this way. I would expect the service to be consistent....i'm very patient and chill about a lot of things.. it takes a lot of effort for me to go out and complain about a company so..here it is. don't go here. go somewhere else. read more

Service at this location has gone way downhill. The girl who was behind the counter today with the ugly tattoos all over her arms and chest was a real gem. She was dishonest with me and the look on her face was like she just ate a bowl of crap. Sour grapes mixed with POOR customer service. I thanked her on my way out (for nothing) as that is what she did, then went to the Verizon store on Victoria where I was treated kindly and I bought a new I Phone from that location. I will not return to the location on Mills after today. I have been a Verizon customer for over 12 years and bought multiple phones at this store but it's over and done. Visited this place 3/19/11 to check out the new Thunderbolt, was helped by a nice young man who's name started with an A. "A" was very helpful, informative, professional, and polite -- he patiently went through the pros and cons of the device and helped me size it up against the soon-to-be-released Droid Bionic. What's more impressive, when I really started grilling him on high-end nuances of the device, he never once said "I don't know," -- he instead said "I'm not sure about that but let me find out," and then he came back in minutes and gave me the answers I sought. That degree of humility and motivation is rare in a world of retail apathy that we live in. Then after that he painstakingly helped me purchase and set up a pre-paid cell phone I needed to buy as an adjunct to my current smartphone for business purposes. We had to do all sorts of activation, calling, autocharge setup, etc., but A did it patiently and with a smile on his face. This is the kind of stuff that really sets VZW apart from the other carriers, keep up the good work! read more

FRAUD ALERT!!!!!! Reply or post your experience if it is similar to mine experienced at THIS location. Verizon customer for over 10 years and never have I seen this before. The employees or salespeople here are not to be trusted when receiving a new phone or a new plan. They promised that I was on their new "phone leasing" program and I could exchange my phone at anytime. After calling Verizon 3 months later, turns out it is not the plan for which I am paying. CALL VERIZON, DO NOT GO INTO THIS STORE. Just to give the store and consumers an idea for which I am referring to: "The term 'fraud' is generally defined in the law as an intentional misrepresentation of material existing fact made by one person to another with knowledge of its falsity and for the purpose of inducing the other person to act, and upon which the other person relies with resulting injury or damage." I will find out if other customers from this location have had the same or similar experience because the "negligence" is not a defense for employees - in fact, the law protects consumers against negligence from salespeople on behalf of their employers just for cases as this. read more

I love this Verizon Store. The associates all seem incredibly nice and are helpful. My husband upgraded my phone to the iphone 4s for Christmas at this store and they were helpful to him. He was told that when I got the phone and after Christmas to swing by and they would transfer my data from the old phone to the new no additional cost. Well, after Christmas, we just swung by the other Verizon store on 4255 Ventura Blvd. and the guy there was a total jerk and told me I had to pay $35.00 to switch the info over and that it would take about 15 minutes. (We went to the store on Ventura Blvd. since it was closer to our house.) We then headed over to the 488 S Mills store and there were no questions and no additional fee. They kindly switched over my data in seconds. Definitely recommend this store to go to!! read more

I found out after calling Verizon that she did this. In addition, she seemed rushed and did not explain the next steps for activation. Every time I buy a phone, Apple Watch I make it very clear that I don't want any mobile protection, no insurance no extra tacked on stuff. They look me in the eyes and say, "yes sir, I understand" then here comes my bill jacked up by fees and unauthorized charges for total mobile protection. I am sick and tired of Verizon's unethical sales practices. I am filing a formal complaint. It is clear the company supports this. Nothing is ever done or addressed. Upgraded new phone and package in May. Bought a bundle with a few accessories and sales person kept trying to sell me bundle that included a "hot spot". I kept saying I didn't need that a I have no idea what a "hot spot" is and why would I need it if I have unlimited data? Bought a new phone on Saturday ($600) plus $100 worth of accessories. It turns I didn't need one $20 USB cord, so I went to take it back. The new salesperson informed me that voided the credit given to me for turning in my old phone. First, waited 2 hours on hold about changing plans. Gave up and tried services on line which said they would call me. Never did. Sent emails that were not answered. Tried calling again and finally spoke to someone after 1 hour 45 min. who seemed nice, but the connection was bad so I gave up. In between made an appointment at the Ventura store for 10 days later. After doing some research, decided to switch to Spectrum. (They answer the phone.) Tried numerouis times to cancel my appointment at the Verizon store and was always routed to the same customer service number which doesn't have an automated appointment cancel choice, so more waiting. Their email reminder also doesn't have a cancel option and sends you instead to your online account. Mine said there were no appointments scheduled... Finally talked to someone who patiently listened to me complain. People, when you finally speak to someone, are all nice enough. Too bad the company is failing. Don't trust the sales team at the Verizon Wireless Store in Ventura, CA. The tactic of offering to pay for your early termination fees with your current provider in order to lure you to go with their 2 year contract is a ball face lie. They make these promises and once you sign your contract with them, they tell you that you will get a credit for the early termination fee that you have to pay your old provider. When the bills come in the next few months, nothing is given back to you. We had this happen to 5 business iphone lines that we switched to Verizion from AT & T. The manager at this store Mr. G. is very well trained on ignoring your complaints and is a very very rude person. He should not be given the position of managing people. Rudeness is not a good quality for a manager. Oh my gosh! this manager just called me chewed me out for yelping about their bad service. He is out of control. He won't stop screaming. This store has some of the least customer focused service staff I have ever met beginning with the Manager, Ricardo. I bought a Verizon Samsung "Smartphone" in this store some months ago and I have grown to hate it. I took my "Smartphone" in today to get a new Samsung Gusto model flip phone. I was told by the sales clerk when I bought my Smartphone there that even if I went past the 14 days within which I could return the phone, I could always upgrade to a flip phone using the renewal provisions of my Samsun tablet when it came available in February. When I went in today to do what the sales clerk had told me, I was informed by Ricardo and a subordinate of his -- Frank -- that I couldn't do that any longer. Then they wanted to charge me full retail price for the flip phone and have me establish an entire new phone line and phone number at an outrageous cost. I left vowing to try and avoid all further personal interactions with this store full of salespeople who cannot be trusted to tell the truth or even uphold the promises of an employee. Whatever you do, avoid this store and Ricardo and his merry band of henchmen (and women) On the other hand if you enjoy dealing with a bunch of "associates" who would better fit in at a cheap used car lot, make sure you go to this store. Have been shopping here for years and have overlooked the poor customer service because, let's face it, Verizon has the best coverage by far. Yesterday I returned to buy a new phone cause mine turned into a brick. I was eligible for an upgrade so I chose the new Samsung Galaxy s5 and accessories. Then the sales clerk says "You're not on this account, I can't sell you this phone". Me, "check agin, my husband added me and I've purchased the last 4 or 5 phones for my family here without my husband present". Him, "I could lose my job if I sell you this phone". So I came home and bought the same phone on the Verizon site and I'm done, will never shop here again and won't bore you with all the previous poor service received at this store. read more

Went to upgrade son's phone to iPhone 5 with his contract upgrade. Didn't think to shop around. While these guys were working on transferring son's data, I went upstairs to Radio Shack to buy an accessory. They had the iPhone 5 for $50 less. Went back down to see of they price matched and they said no and that to cancel now would cost me a $35 restocking fee. All said it was $200.47 out the door at Radio Shack. It would have been $267 out the door at Verizon. Nice guy at Verizon that is apparently handcuffed by Verizon corporate. I would recommend shopping around before assuming costs are the same on this service. read more

They told me to drive to Santa Barbara to the Apple Store. I left pissed and ready to cancel my account completely. I will not pay money monthly to a company that treats people so poorly. My boyfriend and I went in to get me a new smartphone and Amanda was incredibly helpful from the beginning of the process through the very end - she even stayed past the end of her shift to make sure we were all set. This has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a consumer. The employees could care less about customer service and the manager is equally bad. No one cares and no one does anything. In addition, they appear to be so engrossed in doing nothing that they give bad information to the customers. I was told I had purchased the wrong type of phone and it would not work with Verizon. The next day I took the phone to the Verizon store on Victoria and was happy to find out there was nothing wrong with my phone. The only thing broken is the team at the store on Mills Street. After we purchased our phones at this store we were told that Verizon does not help customers set up their phones anymore. You have to do it yourself. Well we tried to set them up the next day with help from two customer service agents for two hours on the phone without success. We were told to go back to the store as they are supposed to set them up for you. Bad bad service! we may as well have bought them online with the lack of assistance from the store.
