I'm writing to share my concerns about my experience at the West Salem Verizon location this afternoon. A couple of weeks ago, we upgraded two of our devices at the Market Street location, and the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the process easy. Based on that experience, we returned today to upgrade a third device. Unfortunately, the experience at the West Salem location was very different. The sales associate assisting us used an extremely high-pressure sales approach and repeatedly tried to sell us additional products and services we did not want. Comments such as, "If you want to make a smart decision," "I've never had anyone come in and not get this--seriously," and, most concerning, "How old are you?" felt inappropriate, condescending, and offensive. After we declined the additional products and services, the associate completed the purchase but provided virtually no assistance with setting up the new phone or returning the previous device. We were told that we could not return the old device that day and would instead need to turn it off tomorrow. This was particularly confusing because, at the Market Street location, the staff handled the phone setup and return process for us on the same day. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the store was not busy. There was only one other customer in the store, and there were two sales associates working, so it did not appear that a lack of time or staffing prevented us from receiving proper assistance. The other sales associate, Josh, ended up coming over and assisting us and that saved the experience. Josh let us return the device that same day. He was super helpful and kind. Many thanks Josh. Overall, this was a very disappointing customer service experience. The high-pressure sales tactics, inappropriate comments, and lack of assistance after completing the purchase left us feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. We have been Verizon customers and have had positive experiences in the past, but this interaction has seriously made me question whether I want to continue doing business with Verizon. Customers should be able to decline additional products or services without being pressured, judged, or made to feel uncomfortable, and they should receive consistent and professional service regardless of which Verizon location they visit. read more

I made an appointment and was greeted at the door. I worked with Savannah (sp?). She was thoughtful and helpful - I really feel like she took the time to ensure i made the best choice for myself with regard to my purchase. For future issues I might make a point of driving all the way back to the store even though I don't live terribly close because she was not helpful Thank you Savannah I appreciate it! read more

I called to pay my bill because my bank account changed, i have paperless billing and the account is just for internet. with that said i was greeted with a inhuman voice that wanted my phone number, this did no good because my phone is thru another carrier. next i was asked for my account #, I had nothing from Verizon that has an account number so i said connect me with a human after waiting for some time a voice as announcing in a language that is not from here. Now i am pissed. I worked as a phone agent for a long time and was successful. If you cannot communicate with your client, or your employees babble instead of talking. The company is saying F%*# you that is the way it is. Not anymore Fu%*# Verizon and i encourage all who agree with this message to send the same message to Verizon. You want to do business with me an American speak it. Shame on those who employ people who are unable to communicate. they are put into a no win situation which is abusive. thhe company announces to their customers that they don't give a shit about them. Verizon, if you do not take care of your customers, someone else will. It is not Rocket Science you greedy bastards. RM. read more

I would suggest if you need help call Verizon. They are actually more helpful. I walked in and was referred to Jennifer who said she didn't know anything about my product and then she called Verizon headquarters. The lady on the line wanted to do all kinds of troubleshooting. However, since I brought it in there was no way to do that. I left and went back home and after about an hour or so on the phone it finally worked again. I think if you want to buy something they are more motivated. read more

we inquired about switching from our previous phone carrier to Verizon to get better/more reliable service at home because we both work remotely and rely on good service for our businesses. Verizon was quick to promise better service than our previous carrier, and sell us a plan- YET the associate never did his due diligence to check the coverage Verizon provided our neighborhood. We discovered the hard way that we live in a DEAD-ZONE in S Salem. After many dropped calls, attempting WiFi calls and being refused a booster, we cancelled our plan with Verizon. I wish we could be compensated for the 6+ hours spent in the stores, phone calls to customer support, and embarrassment we felt not being able to answer important business phone calls in the last week. absolutely pathetic customer care. 0/10 would never recommend this phone company or sales reps competency. read more

Oh WOW! I Went To This Horrible Place Because I Needed Help Concerning My Phone & It Was Closest To Where We Live. I Walk In & This Rep Holding Their Check-In Tablet Approaches Me. I Explain The Issue With My Phone. He Then Proceeds To Tell Me That There Was Nothing They Could Do For Me Except Find Me Another Phone. He Said Hopefully I Still Have A Warranty On The Phone. He Never Had Them Even Try! Maybe The Boss Has Zero Confidence In This Guy To Troublshoot Problems & That Is Why He Carries The Tablet! He Is Basically An Usher With An Electronic Device! I Could See Him Holding A Flashlight In A Dark Theater Showing People To Their Seats. They Tried Him Behind The Concessions, But He Kept Burning The Popcorn. They Won't Allow Him Around The Money After He Gave Someone A $20 Bill For Change From A $10 Bill. He Wouldn't Even Let Me Talk To The Smarter People. Insecurity I Guess. All He Was Trying To Do Was Make A Sale! I Wondered If He Makes A Quarter To Put In His Piggy Bank For Every Sale He Does? So I Went To The Market Street Verizon Store That Actually Has Good Customer Service! After Explaining The Problem To Those Great Guys, I Asked, "Do I Need To Get Another Phone?" One Guy Said, "No!" He Looked For The Problem & I Was Out The Door In 20 Minutes With No More Problem. So, If You Are A Verizon Customer & Are Having An Issue With Your Electronic Device, DO NOT Go To The Commercial Street Verizon Store & Get Shot Down By The Door Boy Holding A Tablet! Take The 10 Minutes That It Will Take To Get To The Market Street Verizon Store. Those Guys Give You Great Customer Service & Know How To Fix Problems. Hope That The Commercial Street Verizon Store Fixes Their Biggest Problem. The Doorboy. read more

While the staff is nice and it is clean, Verizon has many policies that do not allow for adequate customer service. I was driving by and needed a quick question answered so popped in. Asked them what the travel policy was and included. He told me how much it was but then told me I would need to call customer service to determine how it worked. I then asked wasn't he customer service he said no I'm a sales rep. This means that this rep can't give customer service and is not fully trained in the products he sells. When I called him out he tried to tell me that it doesn't take that long to get a hold of them. Not the point! read more

Just saying Verizion is ehh. I bought (with cash) what was suppose to be a new Apple Pencil. I never read the receipt and they just handed me the box and receipt, which I outright paid cash. Bunch lazy guys standing around with their mouths open want $50 of a restock fee if you return something Rip off. Not taking $50 of mine to put something back in stock on a shelf and a keystroke or two to put it back in their system get real. There was like 4 of them just standing there with no customers. Hmmm, I wonder why Rude customer service too. I'll just go to the Apple Store from now on. Online they don't specify new or certified pre-owned. The piece of poo they sold me wouldn't work after charged. So they could give you a new or certified pre-owned. 14 day return policy, with 2 kids and being busy. The $30 stylus's from Amazon works way better. Lol good thing it was a pencil and not a phone Ill just keep it whatever. Just saying check your return policy before you do business with them. read more

Verizon - Return policy - Mobile Phones Near Me - Salem, Oregon

My son's Gizmo stopped holding a charge in the first 60 days (under warrantee). I go into the store on a Wednesday afternoon. Salesman says a replacement will be shipped and arrive the next day... day after that at most. 4 days later, waited 30+ min in the store and they provided ZERO customer service. I am now pissed off. I ask them to call and find out where the order - that they submitted - is. They promise to text me. Skip forward 4 hours. No text. The manager said he was on hold 2 1/2 hrs, on a busy weekend with the roll out of a new phone and got transferred 3 times (HELLO, WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF THE CUSTOMER!!!). He said they have none in "replacement" stock. I asked why I cannot get one in another store in town... (gonna love this)... because those are only available for new sales. News flash: Verizon and Apple want the sale, but are not at all quick to help the existing customers. I suggested that as the manager, he should escalate his frustration with the customer service experience (2.5 hrs) up the ladder!! Moral of the story? Shop somewhere else. They want your money for the sale and don't give a rats $@& about fixing their equipment after he sale is made. UPDATE? They never sent any replacement! They never contacted us about it! Seriously HORRID customer service. read more

Worst experience with Verizon. Sierra "helped" by continuously walking off. Started helping a customer before she was finished helping me. I'm fuming. About to leave Verizon after this horrible experience. If you don't want to help customers get another job. read more

The customer service is horrible. This is more than once we have found this. The fat man is the worst. Better off dealing with Verizon on the phone. read more

Bret at this location was awesome! I had to deal with 5 different people on the phone because my business phone died. I wish I had just gone into the store who ended up helping. You might have to wait just a bit but it is worth it. From now on I will only go to this location for anything dealing with my phone or its service. Again, in these time to find kind customer service is refreshing and appreciated. read more

I just wanted to take a moment to say how impressed and helped I felt when I appeared at the Salem, Oregon Lancaster St store for assistance. My senior citizen sister is visiting in Arizona. She lost her phone. I used the find my phone app to locate it. She thought she had left it at a store but the search showed a personal residence. I went to the store to try to get more information about the location. I was immediately greeted by Yshar who worked to help me. He helped me get a little closer and then Marcos A. joined Yshar to help me try to lock her phone. I did not have enough information to make that happen. They gave me great information and guidance on how to proceed. I felt confident we would be able to help my sister 1000 miles away. By the time I contacted her she had gone to the address, which turned out to be in a good looking neighborhood, with hopes of a positive result. The person at the house thought she had dropped her own phone so she picked up the phone which belonged to my sister. The phone is back safe and sound and all is well thanks to find my phone, Marco and Yshar. I so appreciate the service I got at Verizon today, Please recognize these great employees. read more

I was on the phone all day today trying to find resolution for a phone gifted to my by now my ex bf. I had been calling to make sure my phone would not get disconnected and was assured it would NOT! ( I asked the rep: " Are you sure?") in which she replied yes... today, I was told they could not release it until December 31st. NOT on contract, phone bought as refurbished phone on Amazon. Blasted them on FB, I'm not thru... word of mouth works! I would rather send smoke signals than use their service! I lost my job, put the number on all job platforms, including my resume on the day I was on the phone with them to assure service would not be interrupted! Horrible company. could care less what happens to other humans! Their service and signal was not the best! T-Mobile here I come! never never will I use this company. 4 reps and no resolution! Dear Corporate, release my phone! it's not yours! thieves! oh, but they asked if I wanted their service! If I could give zero stars, I would! read more

Horrible customer service experience. We came in to change our account info and even though we were able to create all of the account setting in store, apparently we have to wait on hold for an hr with another department to make any changes. We are taking our business elsewhere. read more

We had an iPhone bite the dust during the early stage of the stay at home order. Chris Buol bent over backwards to get a new phone sent to our home swiftly. He also fielded at least 3 different calls from us to navigate some user error issues to swap out the phones. He went up and beyond, was so patient with our limited tech abilities and ensured we were off and running with a new phone in a single day. I've always appreciated the customer service at this store and Chris surpassed our expectations. read more

Went into your store today to purchase a new phone charger and to find out about your new unlimited plan. The store was very busy so I waited at the front of the store for a worker to become available. After 5min of waiting and nobody greeting me I decided to take a look around myself. I found the chargers and other accessories but still wasn't acknowledged by any of the employees. After it was obvious I wasn't going to get any help I decided to leave. As I approached the door I noticed 2 employees standing near the entrance engaging in conversation, I guess they were too busy to come ask me if I needed help or to tell me that someone would be right with me. This crap service really pisses me off. BTW I went to walmart and bought the charger I needed. read more

Terrible service! We are new to Oregon and had our phone numbers switched online. Unfortunately this created a problem with my husbands sim card that required we visit a "corporate" store. The woman at the front desk, Sierra, was very confrontational because I was taking too long to put on the mask offered. While I appreciate certain stores are still requiring a mask, I was unprepared as the mask mandate in Oregon has ended. I don't know why she was in a reactive state but I was putting the mask on willingly with no argument. She was just rude. My husband had a similar experience with the actual sales person in the back. I believe his name was Justin or Jason. My husband extended his arm with the phone in his hand and stated that his phone was not working. The sales rep got very confrontational and stated that he would not serve my husband because he was "throwing" the phone at him. My husband, who tends to be passive, stated, "the phone is here in my hand and my arm is extended. There is no "throwing" going on here, are you going to help me or not? Eventually, he got the minimal amount of service required to get his phone operational again. What the people in this store need to know is that consumers have multiple options and do not have to tolerate hostile service. We WERE going to upgrade my husbands phone at this visit and the sales rep could have gotten credit for a sale had he had a better attitude. Instead, we are considering terminating our relationship with Verizon. read more

We've had great service at this Verizon. The sales people are knowledgeable and very helpful...and patient with all my questions.

Worst customer service ever! My 84 year old mother was tricked into buying a plan that she didn't want or need. The sales rep lied and the store manager did nothing to help resolve. Do not use this Verizon store! read more
