I went in first thing in the morning on Sunday morning, and although they were a little behind on calling me back, they made up for it with the most exceptional service. Out the door spent $150 total to replace my charging port which was very fair and a turnaround time of same day before they closed. Not only did they fix my issue, but they also cleaned out my camera and so now my pictures can take clear photos of my ugly mug that I will be able to use AI to Photoshop now that I have my phone back! They don't offer refunds so exchanged for a different case (even though I hated all of the other cases) and it's doing the exact same thing. A couple of weeks ago, we upgraded two of our devices at the Market Street location, and the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the process easy. Based on that experience, we returned today to upgrade a third device. Unfortunately, the experience at the West Salem location was very different. The sales associate assisting us used an extremely high-pressure sales approach and repeatedly tried to sell us additional products and services we did not want. Comments such as, "If you want to make a smart decision," "I've never had anyone come in and not get this--seriously," and, most concerning, "How old are you?" felt inappropriate, condescending, and offensive. After we declined the additional products and services, the associate completed the purchase but provided virtually no assistance with setting up the new phone or returning the previous device. We were told that we could not return the old device that day and would instead need to turn it off tomorrow. This was particularly confusing because, at the Market Street location, the staff handled the phone setup and return process for us on the same day. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the store was not busy. There was only one other customer in the store, and there were two sales associates working, so it did not appear that a lack of time or staffing prevented us from receiving proper assistance. The other sales associate, Josh, ended up coming over and assisting us and that saved the experience. Josh let us return the device that same day. He was super helpful and kind. Many thanks Josh. Overall, this was a very disappointing customer service experience. The high-pressure sales tactics, inappropriate comments, and lack of assistance after completing the purchase left us feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. We have been Verizon customers and have had positive experiences in the past, but this interaction has seriously made me question whether I want to continue doing business with Verizon. Customers should be able to decline additional products or services without being pressured, judged, or made to feel uncomfortable, and they should receive consistent and professional service regardless of which Verizon location they visit.
