Buried into the mini strip mall that has been created on the corner of Lancaster and Auburn, lies a…read moretiny cellphone store we all love to hate (or hate to love) known as T-Mobile. Like most cellular stores, the places are limited in space and can get really boring after 5 minutes of aimless shopping. When the lines get busy, the wait can get long. Almost too long. Such is the case with every visit I've ever had to pay to this store. The guys who I worked with were for the most part nice, but terribly slow at their job. People would be wandering around the store, attempting to do something as simple as bill pay and the associates would be so overwhelmed they'd essentially "shut down" and begin working on one menial task at a time with no sense of multi-tasking. Often times some of the phones available online won't be found here in the store. Expect only the generic phones, the hottest selling phones, and a handful of inventory that barely trumps most mall kiosks. "We'll have to order it" has been a response I've heard one too many times. Finally, I just switched to another company. No dropped calls or customer service snaffus since.

I went back in and they made me pay for the replacement screen protector. They don't offer refunds so exchanged for a different case (even though I hated all of the other cases) and it's doing the exact same thing. So basically paid $60 to have to pay $10 a week to get my screen protector replaced because it gets so dusty. Also very hard to push buttons on the touch screen in upper left and right corners because of how it bubbles.

I'm writing to share my concerns about my experience at the West Salem Verizon location this…read moreafternoon. A couple of weeks ago, we upgraded two of our devices at the Market Street location, and the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the process easy. Based on that experience, we returned today to upgrade a third device. Unfortunately, the experience at the West Salem location was very different. The sales associate assisting us used an extremely high-pressure sales approach and repeatedly tried to sell us additional products and services we did not want. Comments such as, "If you want to make a smart decision," "I've never had anyone come in and not get this--seriously," and, most concerning, "How old are you?" felt inappropriate, condescending, and offensive. After we declined the additional products and services, the associate completed the purchase but provided virtually no assistance with setting up the new phone or returning the previous device. We were told that we could not return the old device that day and would instead need to turn it off tomorrow. This was particularly confusing because, at the Market Street location, the staff handled the phone setup and return process for us on the same day. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the store was not busy. There was only one other customer in the store, and there were two sales associates working, so it did not appear that a lack of time or staffing prevented us from receiving proper assistance. The other sales associate, Josh, ended up coming over and assisting us and that saved the experience. Josh let us return the device that same day. He was super helpful and kind. Many thanks Josh. Overall, this was a very disappointing customer service experience. The high-pressure sales tactics, inappropriate comments, and lack of assistance after completing the purchase left us feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. We have been Verizon customers and have had positive experiences in the past, but this interaction has seriously made me question whether I want to continue doing business with Verizon. Customers should be able to decline additional products or services without being pressured, judged, or made to feel uncomfortable, and they should receive consistent and professional service regardless of which Verizon location they visit.
