If you ever need any camera help this is the place to go. I have to drive an hour here but it is incredibly worth it. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They have amazing rental prices, as well as prices on gear in the store. read more

Great customer service very knowledgeable staff, it's great to go to a camera shop where they know what they are talking about. Have had some prints made and they are of the best quality. 5 stars read more

The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend for all your camera needs.

So impressed with their customer service. We were traveling through and found that they were the only store that carried a particular camera bag that we were needing. We calculated our arrival time and realized it was going to be very close to their closing time. We called ahead and they very kindly offered to stay open a little late until we got there. So grateful for their flexibility and awesome customer service! read more

Even more the are honest and you will leave completely satisfied. I went there to get a remote, ended up trading in my camera for a upgrade and got a remote. Got home tried the remote there was a issue I went back the next day, they remembered my name and fixed the issue also hooked me up with a few extra accessories. I will definately go back, they are stocked with EVERYTHING you need. He also said that they do rental gear. Check them out and support your local business. read more

Focal Point Photography - Oregon sunset photo - Photography Stores & Services Near Me - Dallas, Oregon

Huge inventory, expert, knowledgeable staff (a rarity these days) and great prices. What else could you ask for? They sell new and used cameras as well as just about any part or accessory you could think of. I bought a used Sony mirrorless camera and couldn't be happier with it. read more

What can I say about this place? For starters it is an independently owned camera shop. Not corporate and stiff. I got a great feeling the moment I walked in the door. The owner works there and is very hands on. He took the time to listen to me, find out what I was after and get me into something I could not only afford, but something I could grow with. I absolutely feel great coming back again and again. The selection and range of gear while impressive, is well thought out to provide everything from bags and storage to lenses and bodies. The fact that they rent the very expensive lenses and bodies is an added bonus as well. Beginner to pro. They have you covered. I have to think that the biggest think that sets them apart is that they ARE photographers. Not only that but they will sit with you and talk to you about photography and how to do things you are aiming for you. They will happily share not only their gear advice but their knowledge... That is rare indeed. They will not steer you wrong. read more

Incredible gem of a photography store, this place carries all the main camera bodies, new and used, and a lot of lenses. It's really a hidden treasure here in rural Dallas. I was impressed by their knowledgeable staff. I was easily able to find what I was looking for and discuss issues of comparability and strategize my setup with the employees. In addition to camera gear, they had a great assortment of support items. Most of their stock was based on portability, so if you are looking for studio strobes the selection was more limited. But they had something that would make any photoshoot go fine. They also carried plenty of speed lights, speed light gear like magmod, light modifiers, flash trigger systems, tripods, plenty of bags and backpacks to choose from, and more. They even had a lot of film and developer products for running a dark room. I was impressed. And I know parking in Dallas isn't a challenge but they have a large parking lot. What a fun place to visit! It's more than a store, it's a hangout for photographers. If you are reading this, drop by. read more

I bought my first camera here when I was attending OSU. They were immense help and shared knowledge about other cameras that I later went back to them to get my second camera, tripod, and a few lens. They are amazingly fair on trades, love sharing knowledge, and gave away accessories to assist in my journey - even remembered who I was. A great selection in photography equipment. Now that I've graduated and live farther I haven't found a store like it, so I make the hour drive because its a worthy trip. read more

They have EVERYTHING! The staff was so amazing and helped me out for an hour! They took the times to cater to my every need and helped me understand the product the I was buying. This place is an amazing stop for the beginner to experienced photographers. read more

A friend recommenced this shop to me, and I couldn't be happier that she did! I recently got into photography and the people here where incredible and spent hours teaching me about how higher end cameras work and how to use them. I am quite poor due to some IRL misfortune, and have to stretch every dollar I have, and they have an AMAZING section of used gear. I ended up walking out of there with an older camera(It was a $1200 camera 10 years ago LOL) for 200 bucks(The Nikon D7000) and a nice lens, and I ended up taking some excellent pictures! The store employees are all photographers themselves, and they will let you try equipment instore and really help you find the right fits(Or bang for you buck, in my case LOL) for what you want to do! Im not sure if I would of gotten into the hobby like I have if it wasnt for their time and help. They also have a very generous return policy where they will take anything back if you simply dont like it within 30 days, and I did end up swapping to a SUPER nice used d810 before the end of the 30 days on the D7000(The D7000 was a damn incredible camera for 200 bucks). If you are looking to get into the hobby or are already an experienced shooter, I think this store will absolutely fit your needs with their expansive set of new and used gear and excellent personnel. Thank you guys for everything :) Here are some pics I have taken within my 1st month! (All using used equipment I got from them!). They needed to have their quality reduced some to fit on Yelp though hahah read more

Absolutely love Nate. He has a full supply of anything you may need. He also takes trade-ins and has a large selection of used cameras and lenses. It's my go to store! And his prices are the same as on-line stores. So, buy local! read more

I called Focal Point out of sheer desperation, not in need of equipment but I was in need of Photoshop help. Nate was happy to help me get out of the black hole I was in. I will use them in the future to order photos or buy equipment. Excellent customer service, he went above and beyond to help me out read more

They spent over an hour helping me decide on a camera. I ended up getting a great camera for my personal goals. Their price matched B&H. It's a bit of a drive from Corvallis but well worth the drive read more

I ordered an adapter for the Canon RF system that was out of stock at the big online sellers, but Focal Point had them in and were very friendly and shipped the same day!! Thanks again. Next time my first place to go is Focal Point. read more

I have been buying (and browsing) at Focal Point, off and on, for close to 20 years. I have always found the owners and the staff to be knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They will take whatever time one needs to decide on some item of gear, and remain patient and helpful through the whole process. I'm not sure whether I should broadcast this to the general public or not, but it's their policy so here goes -- they allow browsers to paw through, pick up and examine any of the hundreds of used, high-end cameras and lenses they have sitting out on the counters. They trust us, and I trust them, implicitly. read more

This is actually my second review of this shop. I just can't say enough good things about these folks. I don't review businesses online, I was an executive chef and have seen the ridiculousness of online reviews. However this place deserves every amount of praise. This is how you do it, I feel attended to every time I do business here, and I live in Seattle! That is right I live 230 miles away and, I do all my camera gear shopping here. I am most likely their furthest away regular customer. In this moment it is buy local or bye local. This is the perfect example of a place to patronize in these times. They have a great prices and even if you can save a fraction of the price online, Focal Point more than makes up for it customer service. I can honestly say that I wouldn't be as far as I am in my photography journey if it wasn't for Nate, and his staff. Thank you for everything guys!!!! read more

Focal Point Photography - Photography Stores & Services Near Me - Dallas, Oregon

During the past two years, I have bought two DSLRs, several new and used lenses, and assorted other items from Focal Point Photography in Dallas, Oregon. I also got my passport photos there. On Saturday, I stopped in just to check out what lenses they had in stock and wound up buying one. Even though I thought I was just browsing, they were attentive and informative, taking time to show me a variety of lenses that might fit my needs. It was past closing time by the time I finished my purchase, but they didn't mind. read more

This business is in a small town but they have a huge inventory and they provide good prices and service. They helped me help a friend who was looking for a particularly camera and lens. They had several to choose from and gave a good price and a 1 year warranty. I will be taking some of my extra lenses in to trade and plan on doing more business with them. read more

I absolutely love the people at Focal Point. As a professional photographer who has increasingly changing gear needs, the owner goes out of his way to guide me in making the right lens and camera choices based the type of photography I'm doing. I always go in with a budget, and am carefully guided to select the best quality gear in my price range. read more

Owners seem to have a chip on their shoulder, seem personable but somewhat "cold". Focal Point continually suggest sub-par equipment from what I request. An example, I shop for a Nikon lens and they try pushing a cheaper non-Nikon model on me. Why do they try selling me something I did not request? I do like shopping at a locally owned store and try to give them my business. However, Focal Point makes it difficult to shop there. Another example. I wanted a specific color of a camera bag and ordered it in April. The owner wrote down my contact information. A week later I showed up and they had not ordered the item yet, but the owner stated it would arrive soon. Two weeks later I stopped by and the workers tell me it is not in yet. I suspected it had not been ordered at all. Once more I stop by and there is no bag. Here it is October and I have not heard from Focal Point. They could have been honest with me in the first place and stated they could not get the item, or did not want to order the item, or had other difficulties. I now remind myself to NOT shop here even though it is tempting to give the place some business. Try Shutterbug at several locations in Salem. They are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to assist you and your purchases. In addition, Shutterbug always matches the lowest price of the item listed on the internet. read more

We are HUGE fans of Mike and Focal Point and have been for over 15 years. Why? He absolutely knows his business! We have purchased all camera/equipment from Mike and will go nowhere else....ever. Easy to locate in Dallas (If you can find Abby's Pizza you can find Focal Point!) with a great inventory to choose from. Mike is fabulous and his staff always friendly and extremely knowledgable. Check it out!!! read more

This is the camera store I've been missing. The Albany/Corvallis area no longer has a good camera store. We have a small shutterbug but everything has to be ordered in from other stores and you can't see it before hand. Plus they have never worked with most of the equipment. Focal point has done the work and always has great advice and has a great selection of quality equipment. Both high end and economically priced. They always go above and beyond in helping. And are good on communication. read more

Mike and crew do a superb job og providing for customers photographic needs. The store is very well stocked. What I like best is that they stock a huge selection of used equipment. They provide a guarantee on used gear. In the days of buying everything online Focal Point is a Go To place for good service and exoert advice. Support local business! read more

This store seems very out of place in the little town of Dallas. WOW, do they have a LOT of gear. They have an entire wall of bags, new and used bodies and lenses, a large selection of high quality tripods, just an awesome selection. I am a digital shooter, but was impressed by the support they still have for film and developing also. The staff were all friendly and very helpful, laid back, and didn't pressure me. I HIGHLY recommend this shop. I live closer to Portland than Dallas, but won't go any where else when I want to make a purchase of any size. read more

This is a first class operation. Great selection, excellent service, very competitive prices. Why send your money to New York when you can get the best right here in little ol' Dallas. read more

Best Camera Shop in Oregon! Very friendly staff, outstanding expertise, and our preferred vendor over big box stores and mail order companies. Mike, the owner goes to far extremes to train, assist, and rent equipment prior to buying. Large inventory of accessories, used and new camera equipment and lenses. Plenty of parking and just a fun place to visit. I have been shooting over 50 years and Mike's background is second to none. Highly recommend a visit to "Focal Point" before you buy anything, they never upscale you needs. Mike and his crew have helped me so many times, I feel like they are family! read more

Awesome customer service! My husband stopped by this last weekend to get a sensor cleaned. They quickly cleaned it & told him to go have fun with his camera. We will definitely be back! read more

Living in Eugene, OR there are no local what I call full-service camera stores. Thank goodness Focal Point is where it is, otherwise we'd have to drive all the way to Portland to find knowledgeable photo folks who are also friendly and honest. These folks did not let the digital revolution pass them by and are always current with information that, these days, changes daily. I've purchased equipment and accessories from these folks for years and I'm darn glad they are there to answer questions, speculate accurately about rumors, (this is possible only with years of experience with vendors), but most of all I know they'll stand behind what they sell with no questions asked. They always take trade-ins at respectable prices, (try that at a big box store or an on-line purchase), and always know they can beat all competition with outstanding customer service before and especially after any purchase. Most of the hundred plus members of our local camera club know from experience that the folks at this store, especially Mike the owner for major purchases, will be the first and last people they need to talk to before making any equipment decision. These folks know all the details about the equipment they sell and will tell you honestly the strong points and weak points right up front to make decisions easy regardless of what kind of shooting you do. Five stars for these folks is not enough! Bruce B. read more

This place is a little out of the way and a bit hard to find, but it is so worth the effort. From the minute I walked in, I was treated like a valued customer. Nate went out of his way to show me many selections & variations of the filter I was after and even made suggestions for other filters I might like. He took the time to give a tour of their facility and show me all the services they provide. They have an EXCELLENT selection of good used stock as well as new items too. I will definitely be back!! read more
