I love this place! I love that its still around. After reading other reviews, i am shocked. Never had an issue eith Mr. Video. In fact I got text saying i owed a few dollars in late fees. Text sounded a little snarky .I responded to him right away and a told him I would come pay the fees the next day- I told him I was terribly sorry for the oversight. I got a response right away saying thank you for my understanding. If you have a late fee - just pay it. It might not be much but if everyone owed a dollar it would add up real.quick.. The organization of the movies is odd to me... BUTT....you can ask an employee to help and they are always willing to. Like I said- I love this place! read more

This place is amazing. It's also a relic left standing as a reminder of a better time. Sure you could stream your movies, videos, and games on services like Netflix or gamefly, but if you're anything like me it's just not the same. I need to see the box. Look at the pictures on the back and really weigh my options. That's why I love this place. I can rent games for all systems. I can rent DVDs and blue rays. I can choose from a physical selection instead of virtual. They have it all and its close to home. Hello instant gratification. The real bonus isn't the selection and gratifaction. It's the prices and customer service. The employees will bend over backwards for the customers. Reserving games and movies to make the customer happy. The prices are so affordable. Rent a game for $4 for 3 days. And for a dollar a day after that you can re rent for two days. This place is amazing. I can only hope that it weathers and stands 20 years from now. read more

This store is organized horribly. I've been in once, and as others have said, the organization system is awful. It's organized alphabetically by the most popular actor in the film. If you're looking for Kingsman, as an example, you won't look in the 'K' section, you go to Samuel L. Jackson's section, then browse through there and find Kingsman. It's a fun idea on paper, but in practice, it just makes for an exhausting search. I'm glad movie rental places (full-on shops, unlike Redbox) are still open, however, this one isn't the best example. I think it'd be great if the organization system was changed, it was overwhelming to walk through that store. It hindered the experience, unfortunately. read more

Just moved here, was happy to see a video store, went in and looked around , the set up is horrible , the selection good, although I did find several movies in the new release section that were not new releases. So my first visit was ok, the next visit was ok except for the 2 young men at the counter, I swear the one looked so depressed I wanted to offer him an anti depressant and the other was so unfriendly I had a hard time even approaching him, VERY unhappy with the customer service. I will try one more time, hopefully those two will not be working. read more

My husband and I love this place! Reminds us of the good old days browsing the isles for movies. We've seen so many movies it's hard to choose sometimes, but the man that's usually working there is great with the recommendations. Friendly staff! We recommend. The staff is wonderful and I love the amazing movie selection that they offer. We love the chance to have a great family movie night at incredibly reasonable prices. They sell movies too which is great for us because we can buy our favorites that we've rented, or pick up a copy of that movie we've been missing in our collection. read more

This douche hates Trump and all Trump supporters. So if you're anywhere right of satan himself, he looks down upon you. Most of Their dvds are garbage and you will not be abke to watch due to the scratches. Good luck finding a darn movie, the movies are not in alphabetical order, it's horribly set up and the workers are rude..not to mention there are lot of titles both movie and TV they do not have or that have not been replaced that were stolen or damaged. read more

Never in my life have I even been so attack. My daughter returned our moves 2 days late she was questions on why she was not paying the late fee for the movies. When I called to talk to the owner I was lectured that they need that money to be able to pay their employees and pay their bills mind you my late fee was $10. The owner would not let me even talk about the fact that he should have called or questions me not my 15 year old daughter. When I tried to explain to him why it was wrong he would talk over me. So when I came into the store to pay my late fee the owner attack me verbally in front of his customer. Wanted to know why I had a problem with him wanting his money. My problem is if he is talking to me like this no wonder my daughter came out almost in tears that he was so mean to her. I ask to close my account and he says don't worry about it I put a do not rent to on there. This guys is one great guys wonder if he treat all females this way. I left so bad for his daughter standing there wanted to hand her my 10 change and say this should cover at least one hour of your wages. read more

I wanted to like them, I really really did. Blockbuster and Hollywood Video both went out here so this is the closest thing we got. It's local, so that made me want to support it more, but unfortunately I have to come to grips with the fact that I can't go here anymore. I will say there is one good thing about it and that is that the selection is bigger than Redbox across the street. If you're into renting movies longer than a day this will work better for you as well. Here are my cons though which are far outweighing the pros: -5/6 times (that could be an inaccurate number, but the ratio is correct) I have not found the movie that I wanted. I wander around the store before I finally ask and they say they don't carry it. Happened to me just tonight. They carried the first movie, but not the sequel. -The organization in the store is HORRID. I don't use that word often, but I can't think of any other word to describe it. The new releases are supposedly in alphabetical order at points, but it seems to start over more than once so you have to wander around to try and find those even. The rest are categorized by genre, but here's the kicker, they are sorted by actor/actress, not alphabetical. It leaves me wandering around in confusion and irritation before I finally give up and ask. -The check out is in the back of the store instead of the front. Why, I have no idea but it just makes things awkward because they don't have ample space for lines to form. -When you want to return a movie, there is no quick return about it especially if there is a line, because there is no drop box, you have to wait in line to return it. The place that was there before it had an outside drop box that was perfectly useful...they should use it. -This con could be just me, but I feel like with Redbox and all that, they should have more rental options, like $2 for 1 day or something. For me personally, if I'm renting a movie I'm going to watch it then, and then return it. I don't want to keep it for 2,3, or 5 days or however many they rent them for. -I don't like the way you have an account. They put a sticker on the back of your license which I think just makes it seem tacky, plus with use, the number will rub off after awhile. So at the end of the day, I personally wouldn't recommend them but the people are fairly nice I suppose, but I doubt I will ever be back again. I'll just look for it online or something. read more

I've rented millions of movies from this store The two main guys that work the counter are the best you can figure who out who im talking about if you go more often. Best thing about the store is it keeps improving on its interior if they were to add a return box on the outside it would blow block buster and Hollywood video out if the water (and I rented from both frequently when they were in town). I'm not a big support local guy but if block buster or Hollywood video came back I would still rent from them. read more

Love this place!Not only do they have really movie knowledgeable people working there but now they have added a limeberry. I feel sorry for them though because its has been a rough start with the limeberry do to some breaker problem?And some customers just dont understand the people working there are doing the best they can.I will keep supporting local and eating whatever flavors you have to choose from that night!Keep up the good work! read more

So I saw an ad on Facebook promoting Mr. Video. It made me think of a couple not so great shopping experiences, so I told people they should look at the reviews. When the owner Terry Ricker asked me for specifics, I gave him the reply below. Next thing I know, my post is deleted from Facebook and I can't reply or post content on the Mr. Video page. So here I am, sharing my opinion in a place that it can't be deleted. I have bought over 75 used movies there. Kind of disappointing a business can't take the bad with the good. Anyway, here is my original response to the owner Terry Ricker. "I actually stopped renting movies and started buying used ones so I have not rented a movie since 2013. I have been in the store several times over the years to buy movies. My suggestion at this point would be for you to read the reviews that people put on Yelp and other sites, and listen to what they are saying. I would think that a privately owned business would have the ability to make changes for the better without corporate red tape getting in the way. Chances are, that if a bunch of people are saying the owner can be an a-hole, then he probably is at times. Doesn't mean he can't change though. The other big thing is finding a way to make it easy for people to find what they are looking for. For myself, I don't care that much. It's the only place in Keizer I know of that sells used movies, so I will continue to buy them there. When an advertisement popped up on my page for Mr. Video, I felt inclined to share my opinion. I love this video store. It is locally owned. They have a punch card (that never expires) for kids movie rentals. They have coupons on the back of store receipts. I rarely have to pay full price for a rental. The owners are friendly. I call ahead and have movies reserved. I like this store much better than the chain stores and I can shop local. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. I think the novelty of this place has got to be the only thing keeping it open. As mentioned in previous posts, the way the movies are organized makes it difficult to find what you need, unless you know how it's set up, which is a terrible system made up by the owner. Everything just looks run down on top of being disorganized. And here's the kicker, the part that really gets me is how terribly the owner treats his employees. He's the type of person that believes that his position of power means he can demand respect. That's not how it works - if you want to be respected, you treat people with respect. He's obsessed with the fact that he's "The Boss" and you better not try to give him any sort of criticism about anything. And he talks shit about his employees to his other employees, accuses them of stealing with no actual proof, and he lets his anger get the best of him. That's probably why he's lost 4 people in the last 6 months (and no I am not one of them). His wife Lana, is an absolute doll! read more

I recently became a member of Mr.Video. I was tired of renting from Redbox and wanted older movies. Plus blockbuster shut down and in Keizer and Mr. Video is the only rental place around. As I walked in I was confused with the rental process and nobody approached me to explain it. There are these small velcro numbers attached underneath the video display box that you remove and take to the counter. Being a new customer I was asked to fill out a lengthy application form. Then they asked for my id and debit card. Then the clerk behind the desk declares that he will be putting a sticker on my drivers licence with my membership number on it. He barely started putting it on when I told him I don't want a sticker on my id. Is that even legal??? You wouldn't think that you can tamper with a public id with and movie rental sticker. Seemed so bizarre. Then he agreed to put it on their business card. Overall I wasn't impressed by the layout and cleanliness. Cobwebs everywhere and very mom and pop. It's not Blockbuster that's for sure! read more

I was in the process of moving and becoming homeless. I forgot about some games I had and they got packed away. The owner Terry threatened to have me arrested for theft. After many weeks of searching boxes in my storage I finally found them and returned. Had to even buy one cause I couldn't find it. Then I'm told I have $200+ late fees. I couldn't afford that I was homeless and pregnant. If I couldn't afford a place to live how could I afford that. The lady who was helping me had an accent and called him. Handed me the phone and he told he'd take care of it and I shouldn't worry about them. I came a few weeks ago to have my account closed because I'm moving out of town and I get told the fees are still there. Terry then claims he never made such a deal. Calls me a liar and tells me I need to face the facts. He has poor customer service skills. How he is still in business amazes me. His employees sit there and tell the customers how terrible he is. A few of his employees are so much better then him. This may be the only rental place in Keizer but I won't go there. The owner is a just greedy prick who doesn't care about his customers he cares about the money. read more

Stopped going there a year ago. Can't believe they're still in business as rude as the owner is. The owner as much called me a liar when he said I had returned a movie a couple days late, and when I explained to him the day it was returned I was out of town, so it must have been sitting on the counter and HE didn't check it in (he informed me he was the one who checked it in). He said people do this all the time to try to get out of paying the late fees. I explained to him in the past if I had been late a day or two I did NOT have a problem paying the late fees; that was my fault and I should pay for it, unlike him, I take responsibility for my actions or inaction After the owner ranted for a while, I said fine, I'll pay for their error but closed my account (which I had had since they opened near Fred Meyer) and let my family and friends know not to go there. Unfortunately my sister didn't listen, and the same thing happened to her. Kind of makes one suspicious, doesn't it? read more
