I'll never do business with these people ever again. I bought a Noko lithium battery for my four wheeler that was 200+ dollars and a five-year warranty. The battery barely made it one year and is completely dead and will not take a charge. I contacted them about this and they told me I was gonna have to go directly through Noco and they wouldn't do anything about it. So now I'm stuck for however long it takes for no code to get back with me and send it in then they're gonna have to diagnose it and then send me a new one back so I'm gonna be going weeks without a battery in my quad that needs to be running on a daily around the farm. If it's gonna be like this, why even bother using the storefront and not just go directly through the manufacturer to buy it or whatever. Hell Amazon has better customer service than this. Make sure you ask questions like who's gonna warranty your battery if you have issues before you buy it through them because if they're not gonna warranty it or take care of you then avoid them. read more

They sold me a hard-to-find battery for my DR Field and Brush Mower for $48, considerably less than Country Home Products, which makes the mower, wanted for a new battery. And after I foolishly fried the first battery I bought when the large connectors on my battery tester touched as I was adjusting them on the small mower battery, one of the Battery X-Change guys told me a story about how he had a similar mishap that caused a much larger display of light and sparks (which made me feel better) -- then sold me a second battery for $30. NEVER AGAIN After almost 20 years of doing business here and many referrals,,,,never again!! NEVER AGAIN!! After being stranded by a faulty battery that was purchased here 4 days prior, dealing with several days of transportation chaos, having to be rescued late at night, borrowing a friends car to get to work, bumming a ride to a different repair shop where i was located. I was met with an attitude that was worse than the faulty battery. Rude and total disregard, refusal to refund or apply in store credit and claiming the battery that was just recharged by the other shop was just fine. Stopped by Battery Exchange on Center St in Salem to get a new battery. The manager Armando Nino got me in right away, put my new battery in, and I was back on the road in less than 20 minutes. Additionally, I needed some extra work done on my battery cables and called Armando the very next morning. Without hesitation told me to bring it back in when I could and he would take a look at it. I purchased a refurbished battery from them in September with a one-year warranty. Three months into using the battery in December, the CCA(cold cranking amps) of the battery was so low I could not even get the engine to turn over without a jump. After three separate failures to start in the cold, I took the defective battery back to the shop for an exchange under warranty. The manager did a couple quick tests on the battery(which was warm, therefore, working) and stated since it was fine now he couldn't replace it. When I tried to reason with him, he started giving me a big run around of bullshit excuses. I feinted ignorance while he misidentified my coil/alternator and blamed all the starting problems on oil from my leaky valve cover. He continued to defend that the problem was my car and not the battery, despite the fact that the it charged fine while running and it had zero voltage leaks/shorts(which I saw him confirm but fail to mention). On top of that he also played dumb to the idea/concept that the Cranking Amps were fine but the Cold Cranking Amps were shit (there wasn't even enough to power the headlights). I finally asked him what the problem was in swapping another battery in since he would be keeping the one that is "fine." He then switched gears and said that he didn't -have- any of those batteries now BUT he would generously allow me to upgrade to one of the expensive batteries if I paid the difference. To make the whole transaction even better he warned me that since he was doing me such a big favor by allowing me to buy a more expensive battery(instead of honoring my warranty) that he would not replace this one for the same reason, despite the new warranty. Don't get hustled like I was. Avoid this place. read more

I had to wait about 2 hours to get my car towed to a repair shop and in that time the sweet guys who work here were trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. Our car battery light came on while driving down the freeway on vacation. They replaced the alternator, and at our request, the battery as well. They were busy, but when they found out we couldn't leave it overnight because we were traveling, they fixed our car quickly, the price was reasonable, and they replaced the battery holder arm (not sure of exact term) for free because it had corrosion and they wanted to be sure the battery didn't get damaged if traveling on rough roads. Oct 2018 I went to Battery XChange to learn if I needed a new battery or an alternator. Both Armando and Andre helped me. The test showed I needed a battery, so I bought one, Andre installed it. Andre ran the tester again but now it showed the alternator was NOT recharging the battery. These two gentlemen tested every alternator fuse and connection, which all appeared normal. They stayed open an extra 1.5 hour to work on this. I took the vehicle home and returned the next day to test one more connection, underneath the alternator. Now the test showed the alternator was recharging just fine!!!! Armando suggests that I return in 3 or 4 days to retest the alternator to assure it is still in order. I was only charged for the new battery, NOT for all the time they both worked on my problem!! Their customer service is EXEMPLARY, the old style, like in the 50's ! These guys are terrible. I got off work and had a dead battery so I called these guys up around 5 pm to see if I could come in and buy a battery, they told me no problem and to come on by. I got there in 10 minutes (about 5:10 and they had told me they close at 5:30) and the place was closed and everyone had gone home.
