My phone's screen was not responding and they fixed it super fast! So happy with their help

Awesome quality of work for the $ and responsiveness from Simeon and his team. Was making the decision to retire or repair a very old gaming laptop (MSI 2 PC Apache, ~2015) with a cracked screen after its getting knocked over. Was afraid for its age and brand, that no one in town would even be willing to take a look. Simeon offered a great initial price (I'm forgetting the first quote. $40? $60?) to look at repairing the screen, and soldering the hinge back into its socket. He noticed some motherboard damage (water spots, etc) while working, which was not unexpected for its age and wear. While in the shop, he also installed a keyboard I brought in, that I had bought myself but failed to DIY install. Ultimately, even after investing the labor in repairing the laptop, the internal damage was severe enough that it could not be made to boot. Simeon gave me the option to pay the original low cost quote for the substantial repair work, which allowed me to now extract the RAM from my damaged machine (prev impossible w broken hinge), or that for an out-the-door cost of $200, he could upgrade my system by moving my data over to an similar year, upgraded-SPEC ASUS gaming laptop. The laptop is indeed a quality upgrade in game performance for the price I paid. What's more, Simeon's coming up with the refurbishment solution for the cost spared me having to shop for a modern rig at modern prices ($1000+) for a while longer. My SSD was not an exact fit to it so I am still transitioning some of my documents etc data over -- they had trouble finding a usb to make it possible to do this in the shop. This is a small hassle, but doable. The laptop came home ready to plug and play, but the guys warned me that it badly needed a new battery and couldn't hold a charge (shutting down when disconnected from power). Simeon offered to help source one for me, but that they could be expensive and that he would call back with a price and wouldn't pull the trigger to order until he spoke with me again. Had a minor miscommunication w other guy at front desk, where I thought the battery had been ordered before speaking to Simeon again, which surprised me, but didn't think much of. Turns out Simeon was waiting for my go-ahead, though, so I accidentally waited a little over a week with my bum battery without having to. The guys are very nice, so I would say to learn from my experience and not be afraid to follow up more readily than I did if you're curious for an update. When I took it in for the battery pick-up, everything went very smoothly. Remember to use debit and not credit, expensive $2 surcharge for my not paying attention and putting it on the wrong card. Took my laptop in today, thinking I'd have to have it wiped clean to get rid of a problem that just wouldn't go away -- Simeon tried this, that, and the other until he found the solution. I took my phone to spinware and the did so good I would take my phone back to get it fixed

I called and they quoted me $110 over the phone for my iphone screen, I immediately made the drive -I drove 20 miles with 3 small children and a baby, then told the price was actually $330 in person. Not only did I waste my time, 2 hours round trip which is very hard with toddlers + a baby, but also my gas and my small window of time(anyone with kids understands this). If they could just give accurate quotes and not waste people's time that would be great read more

I bought 2 charging cords and they wouldn't work very good on my phone. I could use my husband's charging cord and it worked fine so I knew it wasn't my phone or block because I would use his cord with my block but they said there was nothing wrong with thw cords and there was nothing could do for me. Pay attention to the bad reviews! If I could get negative stars I would! Had a quite bad experience with this company. It was bad. The worst I have had in decades. Some people are chronic complainers. I am not. My son's Android phone had a screen go bad so you couldn't see the screen half black and half white. There were no visible cracks. I have insurance on the phone and started to do a claim, then thought I would try to support a local business and chose this one. Big mistake. I took time off from work to drive to Albany store in the mall because they didn't have the part in their Corvallis store. I was told it could be fixed while I waited in less than an hour. I dropped the phone in there went for a walk for about 30 minutes. Came back asked if it was ready and the guy told me we're still working on it. I could see he was not, he was talking on the telephone. To me if you're working on it you will have it on your bench in front of you and it was not. I left for another 15 to 20 minutes came back again ask again if it was ready and was told again, we're still working on it. Again I could see he was not. I finally decided I would come back and just wait in the store hoping that would get it done quicker. The guy finally came out and with the phone being dead had to plug it in to see that the screen will light up and it did light up. I paid the $90, and brought the phone home to my son and gave it to him only to realize that they had done a factory reset on it somehow. Which lost all his recent photos . We tried a phone call to find out the mic and the speaker were extremely garbled too bad to understand. I took the phone down to the Corvallis store told the girl the problem. She said I have to take the phone back to the Albany store and I said I was not prepared to do that. Knowing nothing about the problems, she instantly blamed the problems on me. Granted the girl was young and OBVIOUSLY inexperienced at handling customers, especially fielding problems. She continued to blame the problems on me and the conversation got more and more heated. With an inoperative screen, how would one get several menus deep with those tiny buttons to factory reset it? When I would not accept what she was telling me she told me to get out - leave the store. I'm a very easy going person, not at all easy to anger, but I would not accept that we had caused the problem and asked for a refund. I told her I could just dispute the credit card charge, and she said no you can't, because you signed it. I happen to know better. She ordered me to get out of the store and got me so angry that I regrettably flipped her off on the way out of the store. I haven't flipped anyone off in 30 years, but she was that rude. I asked for the owner to call me in about an hour later he did. I began the conversation by immediately apologizing for getting so angry I flipped her off. Then proceeded to tell him what's wrong with the phone. He joined her in telling me it was my fault. I told him I thought I would like a refund, tho I would settle for half my money back. He said the only way I could get a 50% refund was to have them put the bad screen back in it. He also claimed another customer heard me cursing at her - AND - I NEVER SAID A CURSE WORD, and THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THE STORE! It was such a bad experience; I never want to go in that store again. I don't want to deal anymore with this company. And I don't particularly want to end up paying $45 to have the phone returned to its completely inoperative state. How ridiculous would that be? In my business, on the rare occasion that we get a complaint, we bend over backwards to resolve it, whether the customer is right or wrong, we will do whatever it takes to make them happy, including a full refund. We would NEVER blame the problem on the customer. We also would NEVER order a customer to leave. Customers are WAY too vital these days to alienate a single one. Had he accepted my offer to take a 50% refund, this matter would be over, and his cost would be covered. Also, had the girl known how to be polite to customers, it would never have gotten to this. TLDNR: Stay away. I haven't decided yet but still may dispute the credit card charge. read more

I was with a friend not to long ago and she bought a phone paid a lot for the phone and it not soon after didn't work well at all. She tried to return it and she was told sorry sold as is. I, my family, and friends have had a consistent positive experience at Spinware with a giant exception of today, hence the two extra stars added to today's 0 star encounter. I have been operating contentedly off of a 6S for a couple of years. Approx. a year ago my screen broke and my family member took it to Spinware for a replacement. The touchscreen following that repair was consistently unresponsive, so took it in a short time after that and screen slightly improved but still exasperating. Since I conveyed the issue and it only improved a bit, I assumed something was wrong with the phone from the drop and lived with it. If I needed to type anything extensive I'd use computer or Siri as keypad was unnerving as observed also by my son, who had kept telling me to replace phone. Fast forward to this week, I dropped and broke my screen. I mentioned in conversation that the screen had been previously not great following the last drop and repair. The repair today was made politely, professionally and quickly. I asked at pick up if they offer a military discount and she said just on cases, phones, etc. not repairs, but that when they do a repair they offer customer a 20% discount on goods which is better anyway than military. I didn't plan to purchase accessories, but found this to be helpful and reasonable information. Exiting the store, I stopped on a bench to catch up on messages and found the screen to be like new, perfectly responsive every touch. After debating, I stepped back in the store, and said I now realize it was an issue with the previous screen and repair they had done, twice, and not my phone, could they do some sort of discount on today's phone in acknowledgement of the year of aggregation. She told me no, a year was too long, I should have come in sooner, also they had changed screen suppliers so that might be why this one is better. I said I did bring the phone back in and it didn't fix the issue so I assumed it was my phone that was the problem, and now see it wasn't. She stood her ground and seemed pretty annoyed with me. I asked if I could talk with the guy in the back, and she said "the tech?!" In my past experience it was managers in the back but clearly this question didn't sit well. I said how about the manager, she said she's the manager. I said ok how about the owner, she said her Dad's the owner and doesn't work in Albany anymore, she's the manager. I said ok, I'll happily take it up with Yelp then instead and prepped to leave. She picked up her personal phone to call her boss (dad) made a point to say it was his day off but that she wanted to make sure she was doing the right thing. She started to walk away, I asked to be able to speak to him to give my story, she said "you are not speaking to my (dad or boss can't remember) on my personal cell phone!" It was her choice to call from her phone. She then walks to the back of the store (barefooted as she has been walking around the store the entire time), so I can't hear, and I ask to hear the conversation. She turns back, gives most of the info but I feel leaves some out. I ask to fill in the rest as it sounds like he is yelling and she is trying to talk him down, and he refuses to be put on speaker when she asks, (his prerogative and choice, I didn't call him on his day off) and so she repeats to him what I added. She gets off phone and says she can discount 15% but is clearly mad about the situation. I said, "great I wasn't looking for anything huge just some acknowledgement of the year I spent with frustration. Thank you for the discount but I don't feel like this was handled in a friendly or empathetic manner." She said she thinks it's rude and inconsiderate for me to ask for a discount a year later. Those are very close quotes if not quite exact. I feel she missed the whole point, could have ALL been avoided with a sincere "I'm sorry that happened to you that sounds frustrating," and on with our day. I have no idea if it's dad or daughter that chose to discount, and it's not about the discount. I was just going to stomach better having put up unnecessarily with a year of challenging keyboard usage that could have been avoided if they'd done repair or re-repair correctly a year ago, with some sort of consideration today. So here we have a discount given to no avail as customer still got scolded for not realizing it was their shortcoming a year ago. read more

iPhone screen installation, didn't put adhesive behind screen which most likely was the cause of my screen being partially exposed in my pocket and getting cracked in the upper right corner battery had to be replaced and it was replaced with a non-genuine battery Other than that they have great customer service/and are very polite. read more

Couldn't have been more disappointed with this place. I needed a new Bluetooth and when I arrived in the store I explained what I needed. There were so many chairs it was hard to get to the wall I was gestured toward. There were two Bluetooth earpieces as far as I could tell but I was pretty sure they were the same in two colors. I asked the girl working how it worked because I wanted to make sure I got a device that worked the way my old one did. She said she didn't know and they weren't allowed to learn but she was too busy answering a personal phone call and doing schoolwork on her computer that I doubt she would've helped me if she did know. I had other questions and business but I was basically dismissed by her and the other two people in the store. I left the Bluetooth on the counter and walked out. If she had been any help at all, opening up the package and helping me set it up, I probably would have bought it and the other items I needed. I would've recommended them and bought products in the future. But instead I will no longer be shopping here and I will not recommend it to anyone in my wide sphere of friends, coworkers, and acquaintances in the Albany area. read more

The tech here fed us a line of bull and lies about 100 miles long. I wouldn't waste my time with this store if you're looking to repair your electronics. Not even something as basic as a cracked screen. We went here to get the screen repaired on my old iPod and the technician took about a week to do that. When we got the iPod back, the screen was good but the power button didn't work anymore. Took it back. The technician took it back and kept it for a couple more weeks, we had to contact him to see if it was done even though he was supposed to contact us. When we got it back, it was a different color and he said he'd "stripped it out and put it in a new shell". Fine, right? No. Cause this iPod was 16GB and mine was a 32GB and the new one has none of the apps or pictures (this is relevant for later). My boyfriend noticed right away but the technician said take it home and check it out. Yeah, it was definitely 16GB. So we called him. He said he was ordering parts from the Apple Store, so we sat around for a few more weeks (not even kidding) and he never contacted us. We went in to see and he said he'd have it fixed in a couple hours... then a few days. He said he'd ordered a new one from Apple. Came back a week later, nothing. More promises that he would fix the original iPod. Another week or so, and he gave us both the "stripped out" 16GB iPod and the original 32GB which still has a broken power button and all of the original apps and pictures. So, you know, more proof that we'd been fed a long like of horse shit for the last couple months or so. He was supposed to try and get us a totally new one that had the full 32GB of memory, but he hasn't contacted us since (we are not surprised) read more

I usually don't like to write negative reviews but my experience was so bad that I have to. I went in to fix my iPhone XS Max (cracked screen). I paid $250 to have it fixed, and they got it repaired within about 30 min, so that was nice. But, once I got back home I realized that they somehow broke my back facing camera and it wouldn't work at all anymore. I went in and asked them to fix it, which they did. But, they didn't explain to me what went wrong, they just gave me back the phone and walked away. Once I got home again, I realized they didn't give me my phone case back??? Wtf? read more

Well this was a huge disappointment! I cracked my Samsung note 9 screen in the middle of moving and I didn't have time to go up to Sherwood OR for the OEM warranty repair so I gave these guys a shot. The screen was replaced for $300 dollars and everything looked alright originally. Then two days later the phone started to come apart on the back. I took it back in they slapped more adhesive on and three days after that my front screen was cracked again. No drops and in it's case the entire time. I went back and forth with the little inexperienced worker telling me I cracked it. I came into the shop the next day the manager could not refund my money via the owner being a greedy poor business owner that doesn't stand behind his product/repairs. The best he would do is for me to spend $200 (supposedly at cost) to repair something that wasn't properly done in the first place. It's tough pill to swallow throwing $500 at a phone that's not even worth that used anymore. I would stay far away from this place and I wish I would have listened to the warnings from folks that told me the same. read more

I went in and bought an adapter for my iPhone 7 a couple weeks ago. I took it back for a refund that night and the lady said she would give me a full refund. Two days later a charge for the same amount comes up and they took 19.99$ out of my account twice. They did not refund me. Now I can't find my receipt and they just yell at me over the phone saying they can't and won't refund me. This is a trashy company and they have terrible service. They are dishonest and thieves. Wow, My experience is / was simply Great! Smashed the screen on my i5. I called ahead, very friendly and responsive on the phone. Said they had the parts, quoted 30 minutes and $80 bucks. Since a new 6 or 7, from ATT was gonna be over $600. Let's give them a try... Dropped the phone, friendly and helpful staff, walked to Starbucks and back, in 20 minutes FIXED, just as quoted. They " fixed" my broken phone screen & the home button started getting stuck under the screen after three days the phone screen broke right by where the home button is. I took it back in & they would not replace the the screen and said that I must of hit or did something to break it, which was false. They do CRAP work and just want your money. Absolute worst experience of my life. Short and sweet the owner is a arrogant disrespectful man who doesn't know how to listen to a customer without interrupting every other word. While talking to him it was extremely obvious he was not educated in the industry that he's trying to make his living in because when I asked a question he would rattle off the same answer to a different question I asked. You could hear his employee in the background explaining things to him as he tried to explain it to me.... Seriously!? I hate having to get angry but raising my voice and telling him harshly to quit interrupting was the only way I could finish a thought. Sad that he thought whatever he had to say was more important then what his customer had to say. Which is no way to run a reputable business. They are ABSOLUTELY about making money.... and ABSOLUTELY NOT about having repeat customers. It's just sad because his employees were all kind but they can only do so much when their boss is money driven and NOT customer driven. I hope they know there are plenty of companies who would love employees like them. Mgr very rude about return, told us one accessory (which he had tinkered with) was not returnable, and he lowballed us on refund. Service is friendly and helpful enough but I'm sure I was scammed not once but twice. My fault for not taking the time to do more research or when I waited for an hour in the store for a phone to activate.. That ended up not working most the time. Paid 55 for prepaid cellular with 5g data and after two days and less than 1g data used and the phone didn't work for the rest of the pay period. Come to find out the phone has to be activated and a data plan added in two steps not one. That's why I waited an hour and it didn't work except for calls and text. Another time I took in a iPhone 5 for them to replace the screen and they tell me the phone does not work and that they are keeping it to use for parts. I did not get a credit either. I should have taken the phone elsewhere and I'm sure I would have come to find out the phone worked fine. Scammers. I'll never return and I had given them good business in the past.
