Despite that, the business refused to honor the price because it was 'over a year old'. They then also refused to even take the job because I was frustrated over their false advertising. In addition, their listing on Google states "From the owner: Offering flat rate recovery with a 48 hour turnaround". So this company, who wants customers to trust them with private data, doesn't even update their Google listing for over a year. Finally, after I offered to meet in the middle at a higher price, I was still told to take my business elsewhere. They also told me that even if they did quote a flat rate that they would just tell the customer their data wasn't recoverable instead of taking the loss on that item. In other words, they are more than willing to waste a customer's time - and increase their frustration in an already stressful situation - rather than just run an honest business. Yeah, in the end, I am likely to pay more than that advertised flat rate, but if this company has just not done a bait & switch, I would have had my data by now instead of wasting yet another week trying to get local support.
