This is how the owner talks to his customers. As the owner, I must reiterate that we are appointment-only and not open to the public. Today's slots were booked in December, and we cannot accommodate walk-ins or same-day requests. I have already provided approximately three hours of uncharged work in good faith. Our hours, availability, and policies have been clearly communicated multiple times. Continuing to argue or challenge them needs to stop. If this continues, I will need to begin charging for my time, and I may have to discontinue our engagement in charge you for the time spent. As the owner, I've already informed you that your item will be ready for pickup on Monday. If you continue to contact me or pursue this matter further before then, I will begin charging for the approximately three hours of uncharged time I have already provided. You have been warned. Any reply to this message other than "Sounds good, see you Monday" will result in me instituting that charge immediately. Please respect this boundary. I would not recommend anyone to use this company ever.

Who probably underbids himself a little and is more concerned with making sure his service is affordable. His business reminds me of that old phrase "they don't make them like that anymore". Really if your experiencing a computer issue and you need real knowledgeable help from someone who actually cares about the quality of the service being provided as well as making sure that he is not taking you to the cleaners then I would definitely bring your computer here. I live in California but I can tell you Im not going to ever deal with any other computer repair place even if all of my future business is by mail. Really its an exquisite experience and a pleasure everytime.

My college-age daughter spilled salt all over her MacBook keyboard and was unable to fully fix the…read moreproblem herself, so she called Corvallis MAC Repair for assistance. Unfortunately they did not adequately inform her of the fee structure, which is $149 for the home visit and then an additional $149 for each hour (billed in 1 hour increments) to repair water damage or $199 for each hour to repair non-water damage. The tech arrive at her residence promptly (which is why they get 1 star instead of 0) and after doing a few things with the computer for about an hour, informed her that he would need to take it back to the shop for a $450 repair. As this was probably more than her old computer was worth, she declined. She was then informed that she needed to pay $348 for the service visit ($149 base fee + $199 for an hour) which was "graciously" reduced to $298. Feeling completely overwhelmed and frazzled, she went ahead and paid the bill (with our credit card that she has for emergency purposes, which is why I feel entitled to write this review.) The next day, after the dust had settled, she reached out to them by email and then by phone to let them know that she had been under the impression that the tech was coming for a "free diagnostic" because they hadn't explained the fee structure to her when she made the initial call. They did not feel they had done anything wrong and would not reduce the bill further. For all I know, Corvallis MAC Repair might be excellent at repairing computers, but they need to do a better job of communicating the potential cost of a visit beforehand. Had my daughter known that it was going to be $298 minimum for the house call, she would have looked into other options. Lesson learned.

Awesome quality of work for the $ and responsiveness from Simeon and his team. Was making the…read moredecision to retire or repair a very old gaming laptop (MSI 2 PC Apache, ~2015) with a cracked screen after its getting knocked over. Was afraid for its age and brand, that no one in town would even be willing to take a look. Simeon offered a great initial price (I'm forgetting the first quote. $40? $60?) to look at repairing the screen, and soldering the hinge back into its socket. He noticed some motherboard damage (water spots, etc) while working, which was not unexpected for its age and wear. While in the shop, he also installed a keyboard I brought in, that I had bought myself but failed to DIY install. Ultimately, even after investing the labor in repairing the laptop, the internal damage was severe enough that it could not be made to boot. Simeon gave me the option to pay the original low cost quote for the substantial repair work, which allowed me to now extract the RAM from my damaged machine (prev impossible w broken hinge), or that for an out-the-door cost of $200, he could upgrade my system by moving my data over to an similar year, upgraded-SPEC ASUS gaming laptop. The laptop is indeed a quality upgrade in game performance for the price I paid. What's more, Simeon's coming up with the refurbishment solution for the cost spared me having to shop for a modern rig at modern prices ($1000+) for a while longer. My SSD was not an exact fit to it so I am still transitioning some of my documents etc data over -- they had trouble finding a usb to make it possible to do this in the shop. This is a small hassle, but doable. The laptop came home ready to plug and play, but the guys warned me that it badly needed a new battery and couldn't hold a charge (shutting down when disconnected from power). Simeon offered to help source one for me, but that they could be expensive and that he would call back with a price and wouldn't pull the trigger to order until he spoke with me again. Had a minor miscommunication w other guy at front desk, where I thought the battery had been ordered before speaking to Simeon again, which surprised me, but didn't think much of. Turns out Simeon was waiting for my go-ahead, though, so I accidentally waited a little over a week with my bum battery without having to. The guys are very nice, so I would say to learn from my experience and not be afraid to follow up more readily than I did if you're curious for an update. When I took it in for the battery pick-up, everything went very smoothly. Remember to use debit and not credit, expensive $2 surcharge for my not paying attention and putting it on the wrong card. Very pleased w the work here, and found pricing very affordable, would absolutely return.
