When we walked in we weren't greeted nor did the employee ask us if we needed help. By the time we left she had a friend visiting her. Turns out the friend thought that my husband was stealing things and the employee came after my husband to accuse him of having stuff in his pockets. He of course didn't. By the way my husband is bald so why he would steal hair supplies is beyond me. The employee and her friend then called mall security. My husband and I confronted mall security after we saw her point us out to him. I am just appalled that an employee would make such an accusation. We'll never be going back. I guess white males aren't allowed to help out their wives in this particular beauty store. By the way your selection for different hair types is horrible. There is more than one type of ethnic hair. Why don't you figure that out? Latinas need hair products too. Not just black women. Gracias para nada.

I was busy preparing for a wedding so it was a few days before I had the time to style and really check out my hair. The front was fine, but the back looks like someone chopped off chunks with a razor. MANY CHUNKS! I went to the wedding like this! I only know Helen works on Thursday, and this due to the wedding and my work schedule is the first day I have been able to return to Perfect Look to repair my hair. I entered the salon and informed Helen I was not satisfied and my hair was missing CHUNKS she didn't even look at my hair. I told her I would have been in sooner but I was crazy busy with the wedding and this was my first day off since then. She asked me to wait while she finished her current client, 35 minutes I sat and waited patiently knowing Helen must've had a bad day the day she cut my hair and she would fix it no problem. SO I was shocked when I was informed it had been two weeks rather than 1 week since my hair cut and she would have to change me full price to fix it. SHE KNEW WHEN SHE SAT ME IN THAT CHAIR FOR 35 MINUTES IT HAD BEEN 2 WEEKS. I walked out the door dumbfounded and my hair is still chopped up. THANKS HELEN FOR TREATING ME SO DISRESPECTFULLY. When I chose Virgin Skin Laser, for hair removal, they were running a "half off" special…read more First, the "half off" price was $1,400 (full payment upfront for 4 treatments; areas treated: armpits, full legs, throat, and inner derriere). Second, when I started treatments there were two technicians working at VSL. Kym (the owner) and a younger lady (Kristen). Kristen did at least half my treatments. It's important to note that Kristen was also fired so Kym did my remaining treatments. Third, the organization of client records is terrible. My file was lost a few times, and even when they had my file I was always asked what areas I was having treated ... When you spend $1,400 on treatments, it would be nice if the technician knew exactly what areas you were having done and actually kept track of your progress. (Because of having 4 different areas to treat, I was advised to split up the appointments in "lower" and "upper" which meant coming in 8 times for the "4 sessions"). Fourth, once VSL has your money it doesn't really feel like they care if you are happy with the results. I often felt like they missed spots or didn't start up high enough on my legs ... and there were times I had to remind them not to forget an area because they were in a rush to get done and get me out the door. I was rarely asked if I was satisfied with the results and for $1,400 it is obviously important to me to see great results (the sales pitch was 99% hair reduction guaranteed). Fifth, when I asked about touch-up appointments and told Kym that I was unsure with the results I was seeing, I felt I was brushed off. Kym didn't seem to think I would need touch-ups and would not give me a straight answer on what the cost would be. On the first appointment, Kym insisted that I book my appointments 4 weeks apart "Or all of the hair will grow back". I did a little research on hair growth cycles, and while it is probably beneficial to do the first couple appointments close together, generally technicians start spacing out appointments to 8-12 weeks to ensure they catch the entire hair growth cycle. When I had my 4th session, I brought this up and was told that "All technicians do things differently" but Kym also admitted she thought Kristen might have used too low of a setting on me. In recompense, she offered to let me "model" her new machine for a single 5th treatment. Oddly, she offered to to do my legs and arms (as I had expressed interest in paying for my arms to be treated once the other treatments were finished, if the results were good). While this seems nice, I was frustrated that she wasn't more interested in making sure the areas I had already paid for were fully treated. Sixth, I did call and speak with Kym after the 4 treatments were finished and a couple weeks had passed. I was still getting spotty hair growth in all of the areas, with the inner derriere area being the worst with hardly any reduction. I told Kym I was uncomfortable modeling the new machine (Cynosure Icon) and that I felt the fairest compromise would be for her to use the equipment I paid for (Cynosure Elite) and re-do the treatments Kristen had messed up. At this point, Kym flip flopped and said Kristen used the right setting ... She also had many other excuses about hormones, some people being harder to treat than others (I am light skinned with super dark hair - so the easiest, actually), and so forth. I am not a pushy or outspoken person, and I feel Kym took advantage of that. She said I could book an appointment for the new machine "and we'll see how it goes". Seventh, when I showed up (yesterday: November 9th 2018) to do my treatment on the new machine, Kym did not seem happy to see me. She does not have the warmest bedside manner anyway, but I immediately felt very uncomfortable. She made it clear: "This will be your final appointment. If this doesn't work you should try electrolysis or something." Again, I am a very polite/quiet person, so I just nodded ... For the entire treatment she acted as though she didn't want either of us to be there. Eighth, the machines are very different. The Cynosure Elite: smaller spot size (and even Kym admitted it is superior to the Icon for hair removal), a hand piece that shoots out a quarter-sized orange/red light, and a tube that blows cooling air. The Cynosure Icon's hand piece is rectangular instead of round and it actually is pressed into the skin (the tip is cold like an ice cube). Both machines give you a painful zap - but I felt like the Icon was MORE painful (perhaps because you actually have something pressed into the skin versus only feeling the zap from the laser with the Elite). Kym seemed to forget that she was to do my inner derriere, and as I didn't really see how the Icon would work for that area I left without being molested by the machine... Ninth, there's a happy little sign at the front desk that says "NO REFUNDS" with a smiley face ... So that's $1,400 down the drain! :(

It wasn't what I wanted so I asked to go back in and get it fixed (no biggy). She tells me the hair had come out wrong because I had used the wrong descriptive language. So I just apologized and asked her to fix it because it didn't look like the picture I provided. She told me she would have to charge me $300 for a whole new service. I was so upset! After a few back and forth a she agreed to fix it without charging me. She then informs me I would not be getting a hair and makeup trial for my wedding because of the double coloring. I told her I wasn't pleased but that I'd like a refund for the missed trials (as I had already paid). She agreed stating she would refund me $120 for the missed trials. A week later I reached out regarding the refund and she stated "I thought about it and I'm going to have to stick to my cancelation policy". Meaning she wouldn't refund me the full $120 as previously stated, despite the fact that the cancellation had been on her part not mine. At this point I'm frustrated, my wedding was in a week and she was stressing me out beyond belief. As the days go by I continue to fine but decide to put it aside as I had already paid her for my wedding hair and makeup, and she had made it very clear I couldn't cancel and get my money back. TWO DAYS before my wedding she cancels on me. She makes it sound like she's doing me some big favor "I don't think you will be happy with my work at this point". My mind was blown at that point. I let her know it was unprofessional and incredibly rude and thoughtless to cancel on a bride that close to her wedding. She then said she'd transferred my payment to some other hair stylist and she'd be doing my hair that day. Katlin believed this was a suitable solution of bailing on a bride two days before the wedding. This other stylist was professional and kind. But I had never met her. What Katlin did and how she handled herself was unprofessional in my opinion. I do not recommend you work with her as she is unpredictable, and unreliable in my opinion.
