I normally enjoy fixing the issues myself with my very bad hardware knowledge, but because I was busy moving, I decided the help would be worth looking into. You never know what kind of experience you're going to have with a technician. It can be hard to trust someone with something that's important to you and contains personal infomation. I've had bad experiences in the past, but this place set a whole new standard for me. Plastech IT is what every IT service should be. The technician was incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and knew exactly how to handle everything. If you're in the Corvallis area and need your computer fixed I cannot recommend this place enough.

His honesty literally cost him business as I decided the machine was not worth fixing when parts and labor could easily approach the cost of a new one. I think it's important to share how Tim has been nothing but professional,extremely knowledgeable, but most importantly honest. My computer crashed when I was preparing for a lecture. My plug in no longer worked, and multiple viruses slowed my computer to a hault! With the lecture only two weeks away. Tim repaired my computer and replaced the entire screen and shell of the computer because I damaged mine. But instead of having to buy a brand new item. He had a refurbished laptop frame that was practically brand new at a steal of a deal! His honesty is what I value most. When I came to pay for the cost, it was less then what he estimated !!! So i get my computer back a week later , and I accidentally sat on the laptop and fractured the monitor! Lol, but seriously , Tim rushed ordered a new screen in two days and installed it for me for free. I just paid for the screen itself! Now that's honesty! This is how the owner talks to his customers. As the owner, I must reiterate that we are appointment-only and not open to the public. Today's slots were booked in December, and we cannot accommodate walk-ins or same-day requests. I have already provided approximately three hours of uncharged work in good faith. Our hours, availability, and policies have been clearly communicated multiple times. Continuing to argue or challenge them needs to stop. If this continues, I will need to begin charging for my time, and I may have to discontinue our engagement in charge you for the time spent. As the owner, I've already informed you that your item will be ready for pickup on Monday. If you continue to contact me or pursue this matter further before then, I will begin charging for the approximately three hours of uncharged time I have already provided. You have been warned. Any reply to this message other than "Sounds good, see you Monday" will result in me instituting that charge immediately. Please respect this boundary. I visited Verizon today because my bill was wrong- Verizon continued to charge my husband and me international fees, despite the fact that we canceled those charges 5 months ago. (Three years ago, they did this to my daughter and her husband as well, and those extra charges were over $100 a month and very hard to resolve.) I was also charged a $32 monthly fee for an iPad, when I was told the charge would be $10. I bought a $50 protective cover for the phone which immediately cracked. I replaced it (why??) and the 2nd cover also cracked. The staff member said Verizon doesn't make the covers they sell and put on our phones, and it's not their fault. And they have a lifetime guarantee. Which made me wonder why the person who sold me the 2nd one didn't point that out. I would have been less annoyed and I wouldn't be writing this, my first negative Yelp review, if the employee had been more helpful, less irritated, less in a hurry to be done with me. If they'd acknowledged the company had made mistakes, instead of acting like the problem was the fact that I bought them to their attention. My family spends about $500 on our Verizon plan. My daughter said this is the way they are. Press hard to upsell and make it complicated to fix problems. Once our phones are paid off, we'll be looking for an alternative.

He explained everything in detail so we could understand (we had lots of questions and he was extremely patient)... We had a good laugh! He called later to let us know of a killer promo deal that was so good my sister and a few of us on our family plan upgraded as well. From start to finish he went above and beyond. My college-age daughter spilled salt all over her MacBook keyboard and was unable to fully fix the…read moreproblem herself, so she called Corvallis MAC Repair for assistance. Unfortunately they did not adequately inform her of the fee structure, which is $149 for the home visit and then an additional $149 for each hour (billed in 1 hour increments) to repair water damage or $199 for each hour to repair non-water damage. The tech arrive at her residence promptly (which is why they get 1 star instead of 0) and after doing a few things with the computer for about an hour, informed her that he would need to take it back to the shop for a $450 repair. As this was probably more than her old computer was worth, she declined. She was then informed that she needed to pay $348 for the service visit ($149 base fee + $199 for an hour) which was "graciously" reduced to $298. Feeling completely overwhelmed and frazzled, she went ahead and paid the bill (with our credit card that she has for emergency purposes, which is why I feel entitled to write this review.) The next day, after the dust had settled, she reached out to them by email and then by phone to let them know that she had been under the impression that the tech was coming for a "free diagnostic" because they hadn't explained the fee structure to her when she made the initial call. They did not feel they had done anything wrong and would not reduce the bill further. For all I know, Corvallis MAC Repair might be excellent at repairing computers, but they need to do a better job of communicating the potential cost of a visit beforehand. Had my daughter known that it was going to be $298 minimum for the house call, she would have looked into other options. Lesson learned.

We had no idea that a really knowledgeable technician like Jay would save us at least a week of waiting for our authorized service place to even look at it and then begin with 150$ charge for diagnosing.
