I am a non-techie person and having to transfer info from an old phone to a new one is awful. I ran into the Paramus Verizon store on Rt. 4 and had the best experience with Jay. He told me there would be a small charge if I chose to do it with them (which I knew). He patiently walked me through the process seamlessly. While we waited for all the info to transfer, he went back and forth with other customers and checked on each of us like a maitre 'd at a fine restaurant with ease. He answered each of my dumb questions with grace and made the process a snap. He even helped a newish employee when she had her own questions. Thanks so much Jay for your help and patience. The worst retail experience imaginable. Staff in this store will lie about available plans to close a sale. The salesperson Shaka told me there would be no change in my monthly bill after upgrading to a new iPhone. When the bill came and it was $75 more the previous month I went back to the store only to be told "Too bad, that's the plan." The manager, who refused to provide contact info, couldn't care less. This store is completely and utterly unprofessional. My father went in on May 31 to upgrade 2 devices (his phone and my mom's). He was told by Cristina that a jet pack was free and she insisted he should take it since it would cost him nothing. Of course he agreed because who doesn't like free stuff? Anyways fast forward to today when my father received his phone bill. Well it turns out Cristina had added a line and signed my dad up for a 2 year contract for the jet pack. My dad called the customer service number and they said he could take the jet pack back to the store and have everything reversed. Well my dad did just that. He dealt with the manager, Vinny, who my dad said was completely rude to him and who also did not rectify the situation. Anyways, I was so livid that someone would take advantage of my father, especially since he doesn't speak great English and also because none of us even knew what a jet pack was. It had been sitting in the closet up until today. I spoke to a sales person, Steven, who was very nice, but unfortunately could not do anything to help the situation. Steven ended up giving me a phone number to contact about this mishap - more on that later. Anyways, as I am about to leave, the manager, vinny, came out from the back pretending to be concerned and also acting like he would be helpful, but no. He just looked up the account and basically sent us on our way. Thanks to Steven I was able to call the number he provided me with and a whole wasted day later, they ended up disconnecting the line, waiving the $175 fee, AND refunding another $69 the store had charged us which I wasn't even aware of. Liza, is a con artist. Most of the associates are nice on the outside, and pure scammers on the inside. We were sold on a plan by Liza, and were charged much more than originally signed for. When asked about the additional charges, Liza played dumb. She was very disrespectful and rude. I do not know how she made it to her position (General Manager) being so insincere. I picked the blackberry because I was feeling nostalgic but the associate never told me about the lack of apps available on the phone. A few days later I returned to swap the phone for something else. I ended up with the iPhone 5. I had a different associate but was met with a similar flat affect. Ugh. Every two years I dread going to Verizon Wireless to upgrade my phone. Between the pushy sales people and the over priced accessories, I go in thinking it can't get any worse. Well, this past week I upgraded to the iphone 5. When I walked in, two people bombarded me at the door like they were competing for who could get to me first. Well, Gabe won. Gabe was not what you would call a pushy salesperson, he was more of a cocky salesperson. I told him I wanted the iphone 5 - I was a simple sale. He kept offering more data, a higher priced model, etc... and I kept turning it down. Then he said, "Ok - while I go get the phone, you go pick out a case and accessories"..... Go pick out a case and accessories? Is it free? No. So why would I just automatically pick out a case and accessories? Whatever... When he came back out - I told him I wasn't interested in those other items because Amazon offers better deals. I told him I would be interested in a screen protector that they could apply for me, but that was it. He responded, "A Zag?" -- I'm sorry, what is that and why do I have to ask what it is? Shouldn't you be explaining this to me and trying to sell it instead of assuming that because I'm at the store I'm going to buy whatever shit you tell me I should buy? Later on, after I didn't agree to the screen protector, I paid for the phone and took my receipt. The $20 screen protector was added in. I asked Gabe why he would do that without getting the ok from me, and he acted confused. Whatever... I gave up and wanted to leave. I told him to just apply the screen protector so we could be done with this. He took my phone, came out 10 minutes later with a phone that had tons of bubbles under the protector. He said it takes 48 hours for it to "settle" - well, it's been more than 48 hours and while most of the bubbles disappeared there is still a large one that hasn't. UGH. SCAM ALERT!!!! Do not go here! I upgraded my phone in September 2016. I dealt with the manager (Sayd) who was friendly during the long wait. He offered a free gift - first a tablet, then the car tracker device, then a mobile hotspot. I didn't want either but he insisted "it's free so why not?" That's exactly what he said. Of course, it turns out it wasn't free. He created a new number in my account , which I did not approve. This 'free gift' came with an activation fee, monthly charge, and early contract deactivation fee. HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!! It has taken me hours to deal with this through Verizon wireless, and I'm stuck paying for 2 years or paying the deactivation fee. This store COMMITTED FRAUD! I waited for an hour and I watched as the manager gave these 'free gifts' to many customers. He knew what he was doing. Never go to this store! read more

Walked into the store this weekend to greet their "helpful" customer service. As soon as I walked in, the greeter in a suit realized I wasn't in there for a sale, but instead I was there to return my phone because it was defective, he motioned to the back with a grunt noise. Didn't fill out my full phone information so the repair guys never had it on file and my name was spelled wrong. I was a bit confused and replied, "I'm sorry where is it....back there? Was it the counter over to the right or the left?" .....no response.... "I'm sorry, is it to the right?" .....grunt affirmation... Ok then.... The first guy "fixed" the button to my phone, but my dad was pulled away to their Fios salesmen. I sat there waiting...pushing the button of my phone (which sometimes worked, sometimes still didn't). Went back to the greeter (who was replaced by a lady). She properly entered in all my information and told me it was quite alright my phone wasn't working and assured me they will take me again. Took my phone to a new guy who tried the phone out for a few seconds and granted me a new phone thanks to my warranty (oh and I have insurance too....what's the big deal!?). Albeit convenient, I will forever cringe going into that store and I hope that miserable sales guy gets demoted because he needs to learn how to treat people with respect. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. I have NEVER given a one-star rating on Yelp, so this is special. I came in today to talk about upgrading my device. The sales person who helped me was Joseph. I told him specifically that I wanted to keep my same exact plan and purchase a new phone with a 2 year contract. I felt like he was ignoring my requests in favor of trying to convince me to upgrade to a more expensive plan that I did not need. Long story short, I decided to upgrade next month when the new iPhone is released. I come home to find an email confirming my new plan. Lol wut? I thought it was spam until I called Verizon and learned that it was not. I have never felt so violated as a customer. This man went ahead and activated the plan that HE was pushing us to get without our consent. This should NOT have happened. Went into this location on February 14 to see about changing my cell plan. Salesperson (believe his name was Abe) was very helpful in explaining our options. We changed our cell plan to a better one for less money. He then asked if we wanted tablets. We asked what the charge was and were told $20 each to purchase and no charge to have them on our plan. I asked at least twice more what the monthly charge was and was told that there was no monthly charge. Well, looked at our current bill today and there is a $10 charge . Would not have bought the tablets if there was a charge. Hopefully we can turn them in with no cancellation charges. UPDATE: If we want to cancel the tablets we will have to pay a cancellation fee of $175 EACH. We were also told that we would be credited with the $40 activation fee on our 2nd bill. Well, we have not gotten a refund on that $80 either. Stay away from this location and if you do go make sure you get everything in writing. read more

what a horrible experience. Last month i needed to stop into the store . Billing question. Gentleman at the counter helped me out . Then told me about the JetPack offer they were running. It would only cost me $1.00 .Not knowing what a jet pack does . He explained to me that it was a hot spot no cost and that if used it would just come off of my allotted plan gigs. so this month I get a bill for a new line that they set up without telling me. I go to the store. The manager was absolutely no help. His hands were tied. I explained the dishonest nature of the initial No Cost to you. No help whatsoever. I called Verizon. within minutes they took off the charges. Took off this months charges and then are sending me a a return slip to send the unit back . They apologized profusely . I was there this weekend during the snow. I figured it would be less busy. Because anybody that has ever Been to verizon store knows that it's an all day commitment for the smallest thing. For some reason even though they have 4 times the amount more staff than customers it still moves at a snails pace. I must be all the important meetings the staff seems to be having when the are huddled up together ignoring the customers. There was two people in the store and three employees while I was waiting for the first 30 minutes a forth employee walked in. 10 minutes later my 4 yr old needed to use the restroom. We were told we couldn't but they would take him back there while i waited up front. After deciding whether or not to hit the man or curse at him I decided life was to short and went home. We should all learn and switch to another company and give the big red machine the finger as they care so little about there customers. read more

Less than 20 minutes ago, I left this Verizon store a much happier customer than I've been for a while. My family and I went here to purchase my mother a new phone because she had lost hers a week ago at a mall & we couldn't keep waiting for someone to return it. She was already very sad because there were pictures of my late grandmother on the missing phone & my mother didn't have the Cloud so the pictures and videos were all lost. We walk in & give our name. Usually it's a pretty drastic wait time, especially on a Friday--today not so much. My only complaint is that the first employee to assist us was incredibly rude to my mother. She has a very thick accent but speaks English very well. Sometimes she doesn't catch on to someone being rude to her but this guy made it very clear that he thought he had better things to do. First my mother laments about the missing phone and asks if there's any way to track the phone, to which the associate replies, "We're not the FBI, maybe you should call them." Then he proceeds to text on his phone the rest of the conversation & his only input is that she's going to have to spend $200 for her upgrade, which is totally fine but the way he said it was just unprofessional--like we were wasting his time so just cough up the money already & be on our way. At one point the manager came & told us there was an ice cream truck giving ice cream out on the house. Thankfully, while we were getting our ice cream, the rude associate began helping someone else. We came back in & were told we would have to be put back on the list. At that point we were about to just leave & deal with it somewhere else. I guess someone got the manager, Seun's, attention & he came over to us & actually spoke to us like we were valuable customers. He made a point to help us right then & there, giving us an amazing deal that made my mother so much happier. He gave her a new phone, case, car charger, & bluetooth headset at a very reasonable price & waived the activation fee. A new representative named Jeff began helping us. He was very personable & helpful--definitely an asset to the store. He set up the phone for us & put my mother's screen protector on. He made sure to answer any & all questions we had for him & not once did we feel like he was rushing us. Seun popped by to ensure that Jeff was helping us sufficiently & I have to say they both made us forget about the earlier associate & remember why we love Verizon. I really appreciate the care & consideration we were given after such a displeasing beginning. We will continue to go to the store so long as Seun & Jeff are still there. They made us feel like family & that's the kind of customer service that merits a 5-star review. Thank you guys so much!! read more

Had problems with my phone, the last store that I went took out my memory chip cleaned it off and then told me she lost all of my memory. I could not believe what happened and the sales lady told me she was sorry. I walked out in a daze and I drove to Verizon Wireless on rt.4 west in Paramus and was greeted at the door by Patrick. He told me that they would try to fix it and if they could not he promised I would walk out with a new reasonable priced phone. After 20 minutes of him conferring with the 2 managers Jose and Rey they decided to give me a new phone that was priced right for me. These guys were a unbelievable. My husband and I went into the verizon store .he had an iPhone and I had samsung s9..we sat with a salesman and he started his talk about getting an Samsung s10plus and get one free...I had a pretty new phone but he talked my husband into getting this "deal" I said let's wait and talk about it..the salesperson said we only have a day or two and the promo will end..well we did it...handed in our phones..walked out with 2 new phones...so far so good ..UNTILL we got our first bill..which charged us for 2 phones..phone call after phone call..excuse after excuse always saying they will call us back..with no return calls..then they came up with that there was no such promo at the time we got our phone..what a joke..do they train these sale people to lie just to get a sale....so my husband went into the store and they told him they have to speak to upper management..again no phone calls.. we called corporate and told them our problem .finally got rectify...no thanks to the store level that creative this problem... read more

I very rarely get help at any coreperate verizon locations. Keyword "corperate", privately owned stores are always great. I must say this store specifically has at least given them a fighting chance. From reading the other reviews I would totally agree that they are slow, sales driven, and somewhat don't care. But a salesrep named Adam is very good, he treats me like family everytime I walk in the door. If it's something small or a lengthy issue he's always there to help. I recommend shopping with him. Overall I cannot give it a 5 for the shear sight of seeing others wait, upset or unhelped. But, I can say with ease I was happy and will shop at this location. read more

I came to buy a cable to hook my phone up to my computer. My photos had mysteriously disappeared from my gallery but the storage reflected that they had to be on there somewhere, so I asked one of the people working here for help locating them. He told me that they were gone, like forever. I told him the storage reflected otherwise, but this didn't seem to register. I really don't know how you can work at a Verizon store and not understand this, but whatever. What a terrible waste of time. Syed the manager has a real attitude problem and was not clear about prices for the iPad's with service and worse the warranted. They sold me a special protector which was explained as A way of insuring against breakage and never explained that I had to register it with the company. They installed it and through away the box and misinformed me. What a mess. But the worst is the attitude of syed. I told him he wasn't being clear and I caught him in a mistruth and he denied it even though it happened right then. My wife heard it and couldn't believe it. He actually tried to get me to buy a new iPad for $375 even though I have insurance. What a scam. Verizon-you need to look at your personnel and think twice before you promote people. read more

This company is just straight forward hard to deal with. They will charge you every fees, hidden and bs, just to get their money. How do you charge your customer for a decade a termination fee? Every change in your service even though minute they will consider as a start of a new 2 year contract and will charge you termination fee if you want to leave. They will offer you HBO for free and will consider that as a start of your new 2 year contract. They offered it to my mom and he not knowing anything said yes. That's illegal cause the account was under my name. Then charge you if you forget to cancel it. Passing on your account to a family member was like pulling a tooth out too. They will forward a small bill to a collection company when they didn't even try to collect the bill themselves and it was an uncalled for bill too. Why am I still getting billed if I turned over my account already? Optimum internet is just as fast. As a matter of fact I don't get lag playing multiplayer games with consoles using optimum. With food I was getting lags and I die without even seeing my opponent. And that's wired connection fios too. With optimum I'm wireless and no lag. Tv and phone of course is preference. I don't want to deal with Verizon anymore. If I can help it I won't be going with any of their services. read more
