Wow! I have been looking for a local Computer tech person for years, and I found one. Chris, who owns Need A Tech Guy, is fantastic. He communicates back to you quickly and keeps you informed of progress when working on your computer. If you are not local to him, he is able to work your problem online. He upgraded Windows 10 to Windows 11 on my desktop, even though the Microsoft Health check said my computer didn't meet the requirements. Chris got it done in the same day. He also assisted me with getting programs reinstalled and was very easy to work with. Not only is he better than the Geek Squad, but he is also more reasonable. I recently purchased a new desktop after 10 years. I needed some assistance to transfer over and configure the new system. I contacted Chris who promptly returned my call and setup an appointment. He came over at a very convenient time for myself and was able to accomplish this in a very reasonable time. He was a pleasure to deal with and his knowledge and suggestions about backing up were very much targeted to my usage. I had a Dell that wasn't too old but was inexpensive and running terrible. i'm a Teacher so i need it for classes. I brought it to Chris and he recognized right away that the hard drive was failing. I didn't really have a lot of money to get a new machine but he managed to source a refurbished high quality laptop through a program of his and then transfer all my data to that unit. It took only 7 days to get and he gave me a loaner laptop to use in the meantime. What a life saver. I contacted him via his website on Sunday night to see if he could make a house call to see why my mom's computer was showing a strange error message -- he answered me by email first thing on Monday morning, called me up to learn more about the problem, and by Monday afternoon he had driven over to her house, fixed the problem, did some additional cleanup of her system, and then called me back with useful technical information about the cause. He answers the phone when you call, if you leave have to leave message he calls right back, he is always prompt and will be there when he says he will be there. I always think before I call that it will be a several days without a computer and he has always had my computers back to me if not the same day then the next day.
