Years ago, tried to upgrade my son's Gizmo watch. Employee sold me a new watch, told me as soon as you take it home and connect it to your WiFi, services will transfer to new device. Had to return to store to have device activated and connected. More recently, my brother-in-law, who is on my account, upgraded his phone. Against my advice, decided to "UPGRADE" his package, cancelling his previous unlimited package with perks, to a new unlimited package with "pay as you go". Long story short, his new package costs more and they screwed up and cancelled my wife's phone service. After returning to the store and spending a total of 3 hours, I was able to get my wife's legacy plan reinstated and my brother-in-law's more expensive plan activated! In July we traveled out of country and added international calling on our package, at the cost of $100 per line for 1 month, an additional $500. After we got home they tried to charge us an additional $500 per month as a recurring charge. I called and made sure they cancelled the international plan as it was only needed for 1 month. My November bill, they doubled up my international plan and charged me an extra $1000! WTF, how does canceling a service get you charged double??? After hours on the phone, I think it may be corrected, only time will tell. read more

I was sold a 5G home internet box along with a 2 phones on a plan. I found out that my house never qualified for 5G. My address isn't in Verizon's 5G area and when they sold me the 5G they pinged my house to a house that is in the 5G area. They basically lied to me and told me Verizon to sell me home internet. The manager there is a complete asshat who tried to talk his way out of it. I wouldn't go there if I were you unless you want to be swindled out of your money. Edit: Nobody is escalating this. Totally useless. I pay for 5G which seems like a lot of money. I get only 2 mbps. If my WiFi goes down I need to give myself from the phone (Google Pixel 6) and 2 mbps is nowhere near enough. When I ask Verizon for help, like most companies they try to make me buy another phone "for only $1 a month more" ($1/month more but for 35 more months than I would be paying for current phone). When my Wifi is down they suggest sending me a signal enhancer to get better signal on my phone. This signal enhancer requires wifi to work. Are these reps completely clueless? read more

I've been a Verizon customer for a little more than 20 years and the service at this store is unacceptable. I went in today to purchase a new Pixel 7 or 7Pro (I wasn't sure which I wanted and was looking for some knowledgeable advice/insights). When I walked in. someone took my name and said I was "next in line" for service. I thanked the associate and went over to the Pixel devices. After standing there...and standing there...and standing there, I looked around and noticed I was the only customer in the store. But there, on the other end of the store, were three male associates --including the STORE MANAGER--just standing around watching the football game on their in-store TV. One of the guys, while turning to make sone innane comment about the game to the manager, noticed my cold stare, and poked the manager, who finally came over to me. I asked if I could hold the phones, so get a feel for weight, etc., (The phones, because of the security devices, could not be pulled more than an inch off the pedestal--which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get a hand-feel for the phone. While continuing to keep shooting glances at the all-important TV and the game, he mumbled that, for security reasons, I couldn't hold the phones. I started to say that I would probably go to Best Buy before making a final purchasing decision so that I could get a feel for the phones. (Best buy has security cords as well, but you can pull the phone out about two feet from the pedestal, making it much easier to feel the weight of the phone, and test for one-hand operation.. But all I got out of my mouth was, " I think I'll go to Best Buy so..." The manager, still looking at the TV, didn't even acknolwdge me and said, "Okay" and started to walk back to his buddies huddled around the TV. When I said I was sorry the game wa smore important to him that my business, he said, "Oh...I just heard Best Buy." Well, that's all you HEARD because you DIDN'T LET ME FINISH MY SENTENCE. These jokers are pathetic. I DID end up going to Best Buy where not onlky one, but two associates assisted in answering my questions, looking up additional specs, telling me about the issues reported by other customers (apparently the Pixels overheat) and were more than helpful in telling me which Best Buy stores had the phones in stock in the color I wanted. This store basically told me that they couldn't resolve my issue because "they have no power" and let me leave the store without any resolution. I am paying for a phone that I never received and they told me there was absolutely nothing they could do to help me. They even went to the General Manager of this store and this was his response too. So I am paying for a phone that I don't have and even threatened to leave Verizon after many many years with them and they said "ok". I've been here several times since getting my phone and frankly the experience is all centered around who you deal with. Sadly the person who I actually bought my phone from apparently didn't know what he was talking about. I got a Google Pixel which among other things he said the battery would last for 3 days. Even when it's fully charged it estimates 1 day 13 hours. Also when he wrote down the breakdown of my plan he just put numbers and didn't write what any of them meant, so when I went to turn in my old phone a few days later I asked a girl then to please look it up and clarify his numbers; she could not recreate his number breakdown exactly so I don't know where he came up with them! It will be interesting to see what happens when I get my bill... A few days later I went back to this store because I was trying to determine (again, going on what the first guy had said about "battery lasting for three days") why my phone seems to die so fast. I dealt with a different person who was very competent; he looked at the apps I'm using (I've turned off the things that tend to drain battery), and eventually asked what my old phone was, then determined that my new phone just doesn't have as big a battery capacity as the old one. Okay, that is helpful to know. Still, I would hope that a brand new phone can last for a day...And this still doesn't explain why the first guy said it would last for three?? Yeah, I can return it but there's a restocking fee (which frankly should be waived since I bought the phone on disingenuous information). Halle.F*cking.Lujah! After 5 months of my Blackberry being a FishMongerBastardBerry and not uploading pics to Facebook, Adam (Verizon Wireless Superstar) and company finally fixed my phone. Something the sh*teous Bolingbrook location couldn't have cared less about while they practice their swing on the in store putting green. Adam greeted me right away and listened carefully to my ongoing B.Berry problem before assessing the situation. He even stood by patiently and attentively while I took some time to b*tch and moan about that Godforsaken Bolingbrook location. Thanks, Man. I REALLY needed to unload my frustrations somewhere. It took about 45 minutes to get everything fixed but Adam kept me updated the whole way through and never left me hanging while I waited in their uber comfy seating area. The only awkward moment was when I was looking around and saw an add on their wall for a phone that had a big Yelp logo highlighted on the phone. It was at this point that I remembered back to yesterday when I was hauling off on the Bolingbrook location via yelp and had my review synced up to Facebook... where the crew here could see everything I had written (including calling the B-Brook location a "poo junket") while they try to fix my phone... cover = blown. I highly recommend visiting this Verizon location. My fiancé and I went here yesterday so I could join his plan and get a new iPhone. We were helped immediately, by Santo, who provided 10/10 service and was extremely helpful in explaining the different types of iPhones available and answering all my questions. The process was quick, and I ended up purchasing the iPhone 6s rather than the iPhone 6 because it was being offered for the same price, and I also received a Verizon Tablet, screen protectors for the phone and my tablet, and wireless speaker, for FREE! I am very happy with my switch to Verizon and the excellent customer service we received at this store. I went in to this store to upgrade my I phone. My husband also got a new tablet. I was told to pick out a new case for my phone. He put it on along with one of those glass shield protectors. I saw the price tag of $40.00 for that and $50.00 for the case. He reasured me they were free because we are "valued customers" and that this Verizon's way of saying thank you. However I got my statement and voila, $75.00 plus taxes for these two items were on there. After playing phone tag with the store manger for a month, he told me to come in and he offered to take 20% off the items. I said no thank you, they were supposed to be free. Long story short, he took both items off my phone, having no packaging for themHe said normally you have two weeks to return items...unbelievable. I normally try to avoid phone stores at all costs but this store is great, some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. I dealt directly with Santo and he was great, very informative and is really great with customers. He was fast too I felt like I was in and out for the most part, I went in towards the end of the day so was the only customer there and the rest of the staff was super friendly as well and left with a few laughs. I don't remember who I worked with last year, but when I went in on Black Friday this year I worked with a young woman who's name was either Diane or Diana. She was very enthusiastic through the whole process of me getting my new phone, was very thorough in explaining how the bill would change and what bundle options we had, and even took some extra time to help me find a case I really liked for my new phone, even though it was very busy due to Black Friday. HELL YES. This place killed it. Well, Marrissa did. My boyfriend got me an iPhone 4s after me being up in arms with android for a year. So back to the iPhone it was. He purchased it at the Apple store which is where it gets fuzzy. He called customer service to make the switch/port the numbers over from my Thunderbolt to my iPhone. They screwed it up and didn't understand what we wanted. Off to the store we went. We walked in, annoyed to pieces about what customer service had done to our phones when my counterpart had called in to make the switch and headed straight up to the counter, angrily, to explain the situation at hand. She was super calm with us even though we were dealing with three phones and wanted different plans switched and numbers thrown around on them. After about 20 minutes, all problems were fixed. I walked out with an iPhone that carried my number and my counterpart was fulfilled with his request of changing up numbers to different devices and switching data packages along with it. She did a great job of doing what we asked and explained to us what was going on through the whole process. I cannot even fathom going through this process on the phone, it would have been 10 x more tedious and we would have gotten nowhere. I'm glad the people in the store have way more of a clue than the people who pick up the phones for their customer service. If you have any problems with your phone, take it over here. While I was in there I noticed other customers were really pleased with their service as well. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. Bought 3 iPhones from this location. I purchased a I-phone, case and cover. The phone wasn't working correctly (kept shutting off). I brought to Apple in downtown Naperville where it was replaced but the plastic cover cracked. I went back to Verizon where I purchased the phone to get a new plastic cover. They said I had to purchase another. Even thou I just bought a week before. After trying to explain to the manager what has happen, he couldn't care less, even had a smirk on his face. Very rude, terrible customer service. I then called Verizon while I was at the store, they couldn't believe they wouldn't replace the cover but Verizon did mail me a new one at no charge. I was on a family plan with my wife, and we were under contract for another six months (until June 2015). When I started working at a new company, they paid for my cell phone usage and actually "assumed" my contract -- in essence, they split my line and my wife's lines apart. After verifying this assumption process had been completed, I logged into my account online and noticed our bill went down about $40 per month, but was still pretty expensive. Frankly, more than we wanted to spend. I went into the store over my lunch hour today to have someone there look at my account with me, to see what happened when our lines were split, and discuss potential options. I was greeted immediately be an associate named Kate. She was very helpful and patient with all my questions. I was intrigued by their advertised Edge plan for $45 per month, and she provided me with a detailed explanation of how they arrive at that price (in essence, it's very difficult to actually do). She advised me that I could lower our data plan (now that we wouldn't be sharing data any longer) and that would help a bit. It was still a lot more than I was looking to pay, though. I left the store with some information and was sitting in my car when I decided to get confirmation on another question -- if added my wife to the Edge plan, and paid for the phone up front, would be able to get that advertised $45 per month price (yes). Only, is it worth it to drop $600-$700 for a new phone up front? I was trying to calculate the ROI and see how many months it would take for us to break even if we did this up front purchase. A manager, Nicholas, overheard my discussions with Kate and volunteered to help as well. Since he was new to the conversation, he asked for details about my account -- how many lines, how much data do we use, etc... It was then when it was discovered that my wife was left in the same family plan (by herself) after my line was assumed by my employer. Switching my wife from a family plan to an individual plan would definitely save us a lot of money each month (which is what I was hoping for). Kate and Nicholas spent at least 15-20 minutes detailing my options and I was able to get my wife into a plan that is very much in line with what I was hoping for: $60 per month (plus taxes) for unlimited talk/text and 1 GB of data (the family plan we were in had 3 GB of data and was over $100 per month). Stopping in to visit the store and spending the time with the quality employees working there saved me over 40% of my bill every month! Verizon is relatively pricey when it comes to cellular providers but, as they say, you get what you pay for. On top of getting my wife set up on an individual plan where she can keep her current phone, Nicholas detailed my future options. Again, our contract is up in June 2015. We can upgrade her plan to an Edge plan at that time. By fulfilling our initial contract, we get to keep her current Galaxy S4 phone (which is great, by the way) and she gets a brand new phone at the time of upgrading. Our bill will go up by the amount of her new phone divided by 24 (e.g. $600 / 24 = $25) each month, but we will receive a $15 per month discount for being on the Edge plan (net change: $10 extra per month). Not only will she have the "latest and greatest" phone at that time, but it was confirmed that, on the 25th month after joining the Edge plan, that $25(*) per month charge would drop off our bill and remain off unless/until she decides to upgrade to a new phone again. At a high level, the new monthly bill for my wife will be $60 (plus tax). In six months, we will enroll her in the Edge plan increasing our bill by ~$10 per month ($25 for the new phone minus the $15 credit). In June 2017, when whatever new phone she selects is paid off, our bill *WILL* drop to that coveted $45 per month price. BOOM!!! Honestly, the only thing that would have made me happier about my experience at this Naperville location would have been if my wife still being in a family plan by herself was caught immediately (if I hadn't gotten out of my car to return with the additional question, this might not have happened). I finally divorced myself from my very old flip phone (yes, they still exist); and rather than rolling their eyes and treating me like the phone Neanderthal that I was, the Verizon staff at 111 E. Ogden Ave. in Naperville were extremely friendly, helpful and patient. Michael, the manager, provide a detailed explanation of all of my options, and clearly outlined them on paper. When I returned that evening with my adult son (who was also changing phones) to follow up on my plans, Santo not only worked with us efficiently and patiently, but stayed long after closing time to complete our purchases and contract changes. Despicable and disgusting sales tactics. The sales representative told me that in order to activate my new phone, I had to call an 877 number, which he wrote down. He told me several times to call this number before using my new phone. The number lead to an automated message with fifteen minutes of advertisements. I foolishly listened, believing this was necessary to activate my new phone. At the end of the advertisements, the message ended with no phone activation. I was only able to activate my phone by calling Verizon customer service. This was a despicable, disgusting, and underhanded sales tactic that wasted my time. There are not enough curse words in the English language to accurately depict how I feel about this Verizon location. I have had several issues with then in the past which I won't bother mentioning. Just today I stopped in to pick up a bundle pack that I had priced on Wednesday. I had spoken with Iris on Wednesday and she had offered me a bundle which included a case, car charger and one of their higher end Blue tooth headsets for $100.00. Today when I went in Jose told me yes they did have that package and proceeded to offer me a Blue tooth headset, case and screen protectors for $100.00. I told him that when I was in earlier in the week I was told it was a car charger not screen protectors that came with this package. He said no and that the car charger bundle package was more expensive. I asked if their promotions had changed since Wednesday and was told that no they are in fact the same now as they were then. Like I said I have had problems with this location in the past, unfortunately they are closest to my house and I like Verizon as a cell provider. Their current Bait and Switch tactics have made me consider checking into other providers! read more

Will not go here again. The guy , who was working at the customer service help desk was insistent on getting the stupid Edge plan for a phone that actually ends up being cheaper on a 2 year contract. He was rude for looking over my shoulder while I was texting my sister for her confirmation on a decision for my mom's phone. He said that he couldn't transfer the upgrade from my sis' Ipad to an upgrade for my mom- even though we confirmed that through Verizon's customer service that we can. He basically was pissed that he couldn't get much commission off a basic phone already and kept wanting to gain money through the Edge plan. Then when it came to pay, he said "money." At least he had the decency to say bye and have a nice day when everything was finished and also transferred my mom's contacts to her new device, even though he said at first that he doesn't know if he had the equipment for the Motorola V3M- which was my mom's device. This was on 2014 Superbowl Sunday and he was Caucasian, bald and wearing a Bears jersey. I failed to get his card and name, which I regret and should've tried to get the phone for my mom from Verizon themselves as he suggested so we wouldn't have to have dealt with him. I think the most competent and polite ones are on the phone customer service representatives. Through my prior experiences with Verizon, there's only been about 2 people from the stores that have been helpful and nice. read more

i will probably never use this location again. As a whole, I'm pretty much fed up with Verizon. After going through 5 DROID X2 phones in 11the months I decided enough was enough. I was happy when Laurie and a manager decided they could replace me with a Bionic phone. I was pumped I seemed to have been dealing with a good store. They sent me the phone which came quickly but without a battery or back. Laurie said she would have both when I came back in 3 days. I got busy and returned 5 days later. To my surprise, they didn't have a back for the phone that I had been promised. (Why could no one call me???)and the manager offered to still activate the new phone (no battery cover!?) So he said was ordering the phone back which would arrive in two days. Normally, fine. But now I'm expected to go on iPhone 5 weekend to get stuff that should have been taken care of. I do not usually complain, but I can not help vent my frustration. I was told towards the end of Summer that I was eligible for a phone upgrade in October (4 months prior to my contract expiring). I was having issues with my phone, as it only works on speaker phone. So I wait 2 months, dealing with a phone that is very inconvenient. October comes, and I am told, they changed my date of when I can upgrade, because I missed the cutoff for their new policy (Even though im under contract). So now I have to wait until February. I went into the Verizon store to see if there is anything else I can do, or if I can fix my phone, and I have never felt more like "its your problem" type service than the today. He could care less and was absolutely no help. I can honestly say, in February, I will be upgrading my phone....and my service to another company. I would have easily signed a new 2 year deal if I was able to upgrade my phones (2 phones) this month like I was originally told, but theres no way Im waiting til February now and then upgrading.
