I've dealt with this Verizon location three times in the past month related to issues around the death of my father. My father was a longtime Verizon customer, though he was very old school and would often pay his bill monthly in-person by check. It has been fun trying to track all of these payments down. Oy. A couple things to note - first of all, this is an actual Verizon shop. It's company owned. This makes things easier if you're doing actual major account work (like the death of a loved one). I'd originally gone to the location on Lake Plaza (71st & Binford), however, it's a licensed location and can't do a lot of major account stuff. So, they sent me here. Visit 1: Nice fellow who took me through the closing of my father's account. As should be the case, this requires producing the death certificate unless you're already on the account. I wasn't. However, it's a pretty easy process if you're organized. I was able to resolve it in one visit with the awareness there would still be a final bill. The wait was a bit long and the employee in question had to ask a coworker a couple questions, however, everyone was courteous and helpful. Visit 2: A question about my own bill - I'm also a Verizon customer. I'd recently changed my plan and my bill was more than expected. This was a relatively quick visit. I got the answer I needed. That bill just got paid, so hopefully the answer given is correct. Visit 3: I came in just after the work day. It was definitely busier and wait was definitely longer. It seemed like only one of the three working had experience as she kept answering questions for the others. I wanted to pay my father's final bill to make sure his debts were resolved. She looked things up - thrown off a bit since the account was closed. Once I got service, I'd have preferred a focus on me rather than repeatedly multi-tasking with the others. However, this is a minor quibble. The issue got resolved. In terms of accessibility, this location is in a strip center with curb cuts at both ends. I actually tend to park at the opposite end as it's a better situation and easier for a wheelchair. I think all three times I came in, an employee saw me before I hit the door and opened the door for me. That was nice. Overall, this was a solid and I would even say supportive experience at a hard time for me. This last time, a fellow customer was there who'd also recently lost her mother. So, there was almost a spirit of camaraderie here. It was pretty cool. I do wish the wait time was a bit less. It's hard to focus on one customer (as evidenced by the reviews, wireless customers can be a moody lot). However, I'm very comfortable saying this has consistently been a good, not quite great,experience three times in a row. I'd definitely return and because this is a Verizon-owned location I can resolve a lot more here than I can in some locations. read more

I went into the store because I needed to upgrade my phone. I had been contacting Verizon multiple times and they said to go into the store so that I can upgrade my phone. I can't tell you how how rude and disrespectful their staff is the person I spoke to did not have a name tag on refused to give his name. He said that there were no notes in my file regarding changing phones only notes that he said he thought were about using the protection plan. He said that I was lying about what Verizon had told me over the phone so I called Verizon while in the store they confirmed the offer and the upgrade. The person on the phone even stated that they get complaints about that specific store so obviously Verizon corporate is aware yet has failed to take care of the situation and to ensure that their staff treat everyone with respect and dignity one thing I want to reiterate is how Verizon said you are a loyal and valued customer with 14 years and eight months subscriber but after the way, I have been treated I took my 14 years and eight months and changed my plan to another cellular service. I also noticed that there are multiple reviews at state how terrible this particular location is. I wonder how many people have actually gone and switched carriers because of how this particular store treats their customers. read more

Lazy and inexperienced. Due to personal and extremely horrific events my phone broke and ID was lost. These people at this store would not help me despite being in absolute tears and seeing a picture of my ID. Manager even said "I can see that's you" but refused to service my phone. But somehow over the phone they can help me without seeing an ID. Despicable and lack of human compassion. Even the service associate over the phone could hear how traumatic this whole thing was for me, but not a single employee helped me while I was on their phone. Let me walk out without even an apology. I hope they receive training in compassion. read more

I am switching from sprint and they were able to give me a great discount on the unlimited plan! i have been with verizon before and am very happy to be back in the family . As Tommy said to us "welcome to the family, although we aren't as crazy as the ones you see on holidays!! he was very personable and helpful. he gave us his number and said we could text or call any time if we needed help. he wrote it on a piece of paper and apologized because he said he just transferee to this store from fort wayne. i will definitely be going back to this store if i need help with anything else! read more

Overall, the representatives are friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the phones. However, I am giving this store a 1 because of incorrect information that I was given by 3 different reps at this store that was misleading and a HUGE waste of my time. After I purchased a phone at this store and set up a Verizon account for the first time, the rep asked if I was a Comcast customer. When I replied yes, she said to call Comcast because they sometimes offer discounts on their cable and internet services to new Verizon customers. I called Comcast to ask about their deals. Comcast said no discounts are available, but I could have saved $10/month on their services if I would have purchased the Verizon phone and set up the Verizon account THROUGH COMCAST, not through a Verizon store. I WAS FURIOUS! $10 a month might not sound like much, but that's a savings of $120 a year. I called Comcast again and spoke to another rep to confirm. She told me the same information. I called the Verizon store to complain. I spoke to a new rep who assured me Comcast offers these discounts to their customers all the time. He gave me a confirmation number and a Comcast phone number to call. I called the number and was told again by Comcast that they can't honor the discount. I called the Verizon store and talking to ANOTHER rep. She sounded surprised and said that this was the first she had heard of this. She said that a customer had taken advantage of the Comcast discount that afternoon. However, I spoke to three different Comcast reps that disagreed with her. Moral of the story: Don't tell people they're going to save money when they won't be able to save money. That just pisses people off and makes them want to cancel their service. read more

I have spent a great deal of money at this store. We purchased new phones, protective cases, screen glass protectors. One week after it was installed the invisible shield cracked on its edge. Jake the summer intern was nice but not able to help. Eddie the manager told me I have to go to the company online and handle the replacement myself. He chose not to just swap it out in the store for me. He claims Verizon has no way to return the screens to the company. Somehow I am able to do something a billion $ corporation can't???? Marcella was very helpful but Eddie was not willing to go that extra step and help us out. Now I must pay for shipping to get a replacement and then ship the damaged glass back. There is another Verizon store closer to our home over on binford ave. When the other 3 phones on our Sprint contract are out of contract I'll buy the next replacements at that other store. What is the cost of a glass screen? Maybe $10. What is the profit on 3 new lines and 3 new iphones? I bet it is more than $10. I personally think Eddie made the wrong decision. read more

Went to this store to get help since my order online somehow got mysteriously cancelled. They talked me into promotions, and an iPad and $139 of accessories. One of which came out of the box broken. When I returned all of the devices and cancelled my plan they made everything so much worse. They didn't cancel the iPad at all, even though they took it into their inventory at the store. I traded in a iPhone 6+ and could not get that back. The clerk and manager said I would get a credit of $166 for it that I still have yet to see. The store screwed up both transactions and I am now dealing with this drama a month later. read more

Worst customer service (from the sales associates) that I've ever received. One sales associate made an error during the process of changing something on our account, and this prevented me from activating the $200 phone I had purchased. This associate left me on the phone in the store with a customer service agent for thirty minutes to correct her mistake, while she went off to make more sales. The customer service agent on the phone was extremely helpful, but eventually she needed me to get someone at the store to finalize the transaction. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to come help. Seems they are all too wrapped up in making more sales; since I had already paid for the phone, I guess they no longer cared to help me. After three times going to the front desk to ask for a manager to help, finally Dejuan the manager came over. Not a word to me about sorry for the inconvenience, nothing like that. He talked to the customer service rep for 10 seconds then told me to see Sean to finish up the transaction. Sean was the WORST! He did not understand what had happened with the account mishap and asked me to explain it again (at that point, that was the third time I had to explain THEIR error to them - something that could have been avoided had one single person taken the time to help me through correcting this issue, instead of passing me off to other people). I started to explain yet again and suggested that he have Dejuan explain the situation since a) he already knew what was wrong, and b) he would use the right jargon, since I apparently was not. Sean then cut me off, holding up his hand in my face to shush me. He was EXTREMELY RUDE. I was so upset, I really wanted to cancel the transaction, and cancel our service with Verizon. If my fiance had not already purchased his phone and signed the contract, I absolutely would have cancelled. I do not recommend this Verizon store AT ALL. Avoid at all costs. I am posting this review everywhere I can think of to help other people avoid making the mistake of using this store. read more

Super bad customer service. I was apply online application for a pick up in store so on the internet they said I had to put a down payment for a samsung galaxy s9+ for total of $100. So I came in to this place for pick up in store. When I came in the store there wasn't any welcome and the guy just walk up and giving attitude and ask us what do you need? Then we told him that we are here to pick up in store and he was like ID and your social so I gave him and he said we had to reapply for it and came up with a $190 down payment... waste of time. Unbelievable. Went to Castleton store this am and spoke with the store manager Andrew(?) about a promotion that was offered to me online for an iPhone 7 plus. After having issues with the promotion, Verizon 800 number told me to go to a corporate store. CASTLETON store manager said there nothing he could do. Drove down the street to NORA store.
