Wow. And a huge thank you to manager, Hanud! I went to Switzerland and when I arrived, I wasn't able to make or receive calls, send or receive texts. I spent HOURS on a borrowed phone with Verizon customer service who were useless. Had to buy a Swiss SIM card to use while there. As soon as I returned, went to the Verizon store in Hoboken where Hanud quickly diagnosed the problem and knew what to do to get my phone up and running again. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. I rarely have to head into a cell phone store but it is nice to know I have locations close to me. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the store which helped move things along faster. Even though I had no insured my phone the Verizon employees were very helpful. I had a cracked screen and they easily referred me to the proper screen covers I would need to keep my phone together. I am confident that I could return here and easily accomplish whatever I need. read more

Came in to buy a new phone using a deal I had seen online and CONFIRMED would work in-store with a verizon customer service agent I had spoken with on the phone earlier that day. As soon as I mentioned the offer, the sales guy in the store tried to play a shell game with the monthly and full prices of the phones, trying to alternately tell me I misunderstood the offer, the offer had already been applied to the price, and that it just didn't exist. (just a reminder, I had confirmed this offer with a Verizon representative on the phone before I went in the store) Once I showed him the deal WAS real, and that I HAD confirmed it, he claimed it was only an online deal (it said this nowhere and he checked with no one about this. It was just his pride talking) and wouldn't try to help me out any further. He was completely unhelpful, and is either inept at his job (best case scenario) or a snake oil salesman trying - badly - to con me out of a deal his company was offering (worst case scenario). You're only as strong as your weakest link, and this store suffered because of him, I walked out. Apple can take my money directly, no need to deal with a Verizon store... Avoid this place at ALL costs, unless you want to get swindled. read more

I had a horrible experience at this store. The girl assisting me as I bought my iPhone XS never transferred my number over from my new phone, and just told me to wait a few hours for it to work itself out. After being off the grid for 3 hours, I ran to grand central Apple store in the city and they fixed it within minutes. I'm done using Verizon besides paying for my phone bill - they just try to push their products, and merchandise and this Hoboken store in particular were filled with staff members who cared more about chatting with each other instead of helping out paying customers. WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

When I first got to the store, I was being helped by a lady. Everything was fine , the lady asked for my ID - there were some issues there because I had lost my ID and was trying to open up my temporary one. As I was trying to get a hold of my ID or provide any sort of identification, the ENTIRE time the other older man working at the store kept talking over the lady who was initially helping me. He was loud, obnoxious, he kept repeating whatever the lady was saying in a demeaning tone. The older man was extremely rude and didn't provide any help whatsoever. He kept repeating the same thing over and over again to the point where I had to tell him he is not providing any solutions for me. I didn't have my account information and tried to call my mom who was the account holder - and as I was speaking with my mom the older man KEPT interrupting me, talking over me to the point where I could not hear what my mom was saying on the phone. The whole situation could have been resolved if he just stayed quiet and let the lady help me. He should just mind his own business next time because he just made matters only worse, and on top of that solved NOTHING. As someone who works in this field who talks to clients all day, I'd recommend the older man to fix his attitude or work somewhere where he does not need to speak to anyone. Rudest encounter I've ever had. NEVER GOING BACK, and I don't recommend ANYONE coming to this store. read more

This place is awful, AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CAN. As it's time for my upgrade, I went in thinking it would be easier than purchasing online. Boy was I wrong. I walked in, and this site did not have an iPad for you to sign in and wait like the other VWs I have gone to. I had to wait for a rep who was already working with someone ask what I needed help with, then she added me to their sign in sheet. I waited for about 15-20 minutes and had 2 reps ask me if I was being helped. I said no and that I needed an upgrade, and they walked away. The original rep who added me to the sign in sheet walked over to me with a phone for me. UM, I NEVER EVEN TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. This easily-confused team thought I was the woman behind me. When I was finally able to tell her the phone I'd like, she told me they were sold out, and their system could not tell me which VW stores nearby had it in stock. HORRENDOUS! read more

Avoid this Verizon store at all costs. The sales representatives here are completely useless. Especially this guy named Lou. Avoid him like a plague. Given the fact that we needed to tell him how to do his job, speaks to the mediocre quality of people they hire here. Its also quite disconcerting that the manager Ahmed wasn't even quite sure how to activate the phone. Activating a phone is not rocket science, the fact they make it seem like its the most complicated process in the world. I've had some good experiences here in the past. But its amazing how in 2 months time the quality if their personnel can degrade so much. If this is ur only option. I suggest u come into the store with a whole lot of patience as you waste away your precious time waiting for mediocre people to renew your phone. You have just lost a customer for good. read more

I bought a new iPhone here this week, and it was an excellent experience. Everything went smoothly--even transferring all my data from my ancient iPhone SE to the iPhone 12. Lou was amazing. He showed me what all my options were and didn't try to influence my decision. He was a pleasant and knowledgeable professional. I got my iPhone 6 plus here last night. Sure my wait was longer then I wanted, but overall it was a pleasant experience. The employees in here are great and intelligent when it comes to the products. I think it's gotten better here the last few years in here. I'm not the biggest fan of Verizon stores in general, but overall, this store is the best one of visited. Points for that. read more

The staff at this location are extremely friendly and helpful! I had an issue with a phone screen protector bought there the other day where they made the entire process stress free by helping me resolve the issue. The staff was even kind enough to help put the screen protector on my new phone as well which was great since I had issues! Our initial visit was very pleasant and the staff was very attentive. We went to get my husband a new google phone. They were running a buy one apple get another free. We took the deal and added a third line for my old apple phone. We also bought an apple watch, car charger, two cases, two pricey screen protectors and a compact portable charger. Our Verizon is pretty high right now. The car charger broke, defective not mishandled, after 3 weeks. We were traveling and had to buy a new charger on the road. When I went by today there was a completely different crew. There were about to give me a new one with this "older" sales rep took a look and said "you broke it and that's not under warranty". We have one much older car charger, plus the new one we bought on the road and they are doing fine. We KNOW how to use a charger without breaking it Vinny!!...but even so..we just spent hundreds of dollars at the store and will be paying a higher bill. BAD customer service.. read more

Made an appointment to activate my new phone that I purchased directly from Verizon. When I walked in, the older gentleman that was supposed to help me acted annoyed that I was even there. He told me that he couldn't help with the activation because their Wi-Fi was not powerful enough and it would take 2 hours to transfer all my data from my old phone. He further mentioned that they stopped helping with activations because of COVID and even Apple stopped helping with activating phones (later confirmed that this is completely false). Not really sure how activating a phone is associated with COVID but I guess if you don't feel like doing your job, you'll come up with any bizzare excuse. I've been with Verizon for 9 years and have been getting iPhones almost every year and never had this problem. He told me I should go home and connect to my wifi and activate the phone myself. Knowing that this just did not sound the least bit acceptable, I was able to go to a Verizon store in NYC and they activated/transferred all my data in literally less than 30 mins. If this store can't help with activating/setting up new phones they should take it off their website so customers don't waste their time coming in for an appointment. My mom is a Sr. she stopped in the store last Thursday with her friend. Arlene a Verizon rep. showed her a discontinued phone in a box & said they had 3 of them in stock. I called to ask the model, spoke to a nice rep Chauncey. On Sunday early afternoon I went to the store, Rachel said they don't have the phone, another rep Ahmed who I later found out is the Store manager got up to open one drawer, he was sitting next to her. She went on line & said I could buy it from Amazon for $150.? I explained the basic phones have bad reviews & my mom needs a reliable phone. Ahmed & Rachel could care less. As Ahmed started telling me there is no LG basic phones in the store, Rachel moved on, got up & started helping someone else like I didn't matter. I said thank you for nothing & walked out. As I was walking home I called customer service, explained the situation, they called the store, Ahmed said they didn't have the phone & forgot to hang up. My agent heard him making fun of the situation & joking about it, saying NO we don't have the phone BYE?! THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD, WILL NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS STORE! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH VERIZON WIRELESS! Thinking of changing companies after 15 years. I purchased a new iPhone last week. The head phone adapter is broken. Per the staff, it is necessary to go to an Apple store to have the equipment exchanged. Why is it that the store can accept the customer's money for a new device, yet if there is a problem, the customer has to spend their time and more money to have a defective item replaced? The fact that it is an Apple product is regardless as Verizon sells the product, so should replace it if it is defective. It is up the the companies to be prepared for this. I would have contacted the store directly by email to discuss, however, there is no way to do so. Very poor customer service. read more

If I could give this store a zero, I would. I have been here twice with a malfunctioning phone. The first time, they told me there was nothing they could do unless I could replicate the issue in the store. Since I could not, they sent me away. I ended up going to another store and they told me that I didn't have a software update, and fixed it for me. Something the store in Hoboken should have been able to notice. The second time (with the same phone) they insisted on a hard reset, which means I would lose all my settings, contacts, applications, etc. Though I was unwilling to do so, I agreed. The salesman I was working with was really nice and backed up my contacts on the computer in the store just in case they didn't sync when they restarted my phone. Then... another worker went by and messed up the computer that all my contacts were on while my phone was updating. Didn't apologize. When my contacts didn't sync back and I called the store to ask if there was any way to get the missing contacts, the guy who messed up the computer told me that there was nothing that could be done and that it wasn't his fault because the salesman I was working with didn't leave a note on the computer (even though we were standing right there!) HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID THIS STORE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE read more

It's a Verizon store. What can you expect? I went in to get a new phone, knew what I wanted, simple sale. Was going to trade my iPhone in and had difficulty clearing the contents. Bruce & Garcia helped me for literally hours on the phone with apple support to get the issue resolved. I then forgot my wallet there after the fact and they called and held it for me. Super nice and helpful. Only reason I gave it a 4 was because it is Verizon and obviously was up sold into buying a case, screen protectors and extra chargers.. I'm a sucker. read more

I spend 3 hours on the phone with Verizon today...trying to get the POP server code for their email address...5 people and 3 hours later - I still had no POP code and they disconnected me. Never dealt with such stupid people. It was like i was speaking too, Clarabell with out the horns. Every time they put you on hold (20 minutes per episode ) and trade you off to another CRACK VERIZON employee they start over again the Acct #, Name, Address - everything but your hat size this company is a JOKE when it comes to customer service - but be 2 hours late on your bill and they're on you like a cheap suit. read more

I had a unique situation and they made sure they did everything possible to get it resolved- even waited for FOREVER for me to figure out my Apple ID (because I am terrible at remembering things) to make sure I walked out all set up and happy. 10/10 will/would go again. I just had the most amazing experience with April. I was worried that I was going to walk in to a long wait and the run around for the issue I was having with my internet plan, but I was pleasantly surprised that they took care of me right away. She explained in detail what services would work best for my account and I walked out with a free upgrade and a new ipad and jetpack. She even went as far as staying passed their closing time and connecting my ipad to the Bluetooth keyboard I purchased. I usually hate the customer service at Verizon stores but April was different. Maybe it's a South Florida thing? Anyway, this was a nice location and I appreciate Aprils great customer service. read more

This place has the worst customer service I've ever witnessed in my life. There are several people waiting and at least 2 sales reps walking around literally doing nothing. We were told wed have to wait 45 mins which is already absurd and ended up waiting well over an hour plus the 45+ mins it took to deal with the rep once they had time for us. I am very disappointed by the staff at this location. I entered and stood in the front of the store for 15 minutes and no one greeted me. Eventually I walked over to the counter and asked a question about my iPhone and the staff was extremely dishonest in order to persuade me to buy a new phone from that location. I returned about an hour later to follow up and the staff ignored me. I tried to catch the attention of a few staff members and the manager but they ignored me and walked into the back of the store. read more

I visited the store this afternoon with the intention of upgrading my phone. The sales associates demonstrated absolutely poor customer service. Three customer service representatives were seated at the front desk helping two customers. I waited for over 25 minutes to be helped or acknowledged neither of which happened. I've had ONE good customer experience at this location throughout the 5+ years I've been coming here and that was because the rep was someone I knew. The reps (ive experienced) are either not knowledgeable or just plain rude. I've worked in customer service my whole life so I know how hard it can be to deal with people, because of this I go out of my way to be polite. I went in today after a visit to AT&T (across the street) because I am considering cancelling my service with Verizon, but wanted to see what my options would be to stay with Verizon, upgrade, plan costs etc. I stood there waiting as all the reps were with customers... and waited ... and waited... and waited.... not one rep acknowledged I had even walked into the store. I continued to wait until an employee walked into the store and received a grand hello from the employees working. I don't mind waiting but at least make your customers .. loyal customers feel welcomed. It was very uncomfortable standing there being ignored so I left. I guess this was the omen I needed to make my final decision. Verizon may have good service but it's not worth the expensive plans and TERRIBLE customer service. I hate to even write this, but I feel the need to. Now, please keep in mind that I am writing this not to defend myself, but to reveal the arrogance of the staff expecially the gentleman that helped me. I had ordered a phone to be picked up. Yes, I did read that I needed to bring in a photo ID along with the card I used to purchase the phone.... long story short.... I forgot my wallet. I had the card on me that I purchased the phone with along with my husbands ID (who is on the account), my registration, insurance card, debit card, and my son with we. Now I get it... I did not have my ID on me.... again.... I understand that I did not have my photo ID.... as I was trying to convince them that I desparately needed my phone... I started to say that I couldn't even pay the parking meter..... I was then cut off by the man helping me who arrogantly said, "well it's not verizon's fault that you couldn't pay the meter".... I was completely taken back. Obviously I know that it's not verizons fault....I was trying to prove how desparately I needed the phone because it wasn't working for me to even pull up the app. Being spoken to like that is completely degrading and belittling as if I was suggesting that Verizon had anything to do with it. I was just in need of a working phone.... plus I had already paid for the phone. The other woman that was working just kept her head resting on her hand. Thank god my son was with me. I was able to keep my cool. I will never go back to that store. I got my phone and got the case I needed. Walked out and haven't been able to shake that feeling of being spoken to that way. This place is run by crooks. Upgraded iPhone 5 to 6s and paid the upgrade fee in cash. They also convinced me to get a "free tablet" which they claimed was a reward for being a loyal customer for 10 years. I told them that I don't need the tablet, but they said it's completely free with no fees at all and I can just give it to the kids. So, I took it. Next month I found out that the tablet carried at $10/month service fee. In addition, they started charging me $25/month for the phone claiming that I got it on a payment plan, when in fact, I paid the upgrade fee in full. The store says that I only paid $150 dollars, when I paid the full upgrade fee of $300 + $35 activation. Since I paid in cash, and they didn't even give me a receipt, I can't prove it. I wish I ordered the upgrade online instead and avoided these unbelievable crooks! Stay away from this store at all costs. All of their employees need to be fired. I like to believe that it's just this store and not Verizon in general, but I'll be switching to another carrier anyway. read more
