I went here on Saturday with my family. We were treated well and left satisfied. I bought a new flip phone (my last one fell on the floor and broke in such a way that I had to laugh- my wife saw a piece later and thought that it was a LEGO). I know that I'm a dinosaur and am okay with it (beautiful women even like me when they're drunk enough). I'm glad that we were the only customers (3 young guys showed up right when we were leaving). We were here for about 75 minutes (my wife had some questions that took about 15 minutes to answer). There were two Sales Persons (I'm using the term found on the receipts). The second man was very knowledgeable, but he was outside half the time. The seats are comfortable enough, but my son chose to stand the whole time. Both employees were friendly and casual. The hours are pretty good. Sun 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Mon-Sat 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The parking lot is weird, and there are only about 10 spots. (On a side note, there are 4 lanes of traffic outside the store, and we got stalled heading home because my wife didn't move over enough.) The store was renovated months ago. My wife went here a few years ago and commented on the changes. The store is more spacious now, and there is less to view. (This is really a Victra store where new employees are trained. The training room was pointed out to us.) Our sales person did a great job overall, but he has only worked at the store for 3 months (he needed some help from the other man). He was also too pushy at times (our cable bill was suddenly asked about, and it kind of annoyed me). I was ready for pitches to be made, and so I quickly said no to a package that was mentioned (my wife thought that I was rude in that moment, but not having our time wasted was one of my top priorities). The first 10 minutes were awkward. It largely had to do with my wife's phone needing to be upgraded (a text with a link that quickly expired had to be sent 4 times). I give our sales person credit for how he handled things. Paying right away saved me some money. I also saved some money by not placing an order online. Instead of $120 for the phone (a TCL FLIP Pro), I was charged $100 (why I was given a second discount is hard to explain). I was also charged $29.99 for Set Up and Go Service (outside of a store, the activation fee is $35). With tax, my total was only $142.89. There is something to be said for any business that actually shows they care about customer service! I left Sprint because after 16 years of loyalty I couldn't even speak to a real person if I needed help. Verizon is where I landed. I had a bad experience and they reached out not with just an apology, they fixed the issue! The manager phoned me and set a time I could return for a resolution! He was sincere and I felt like I really mattered! I listened and watched as other customers were helped and it proved the old saying, one bad apple does not ruin an entire orchard.. Kevin was a great help in the lengthy process of upgrading my phone, adding my mother to my plan and home internet. What took the longest was transferring all my photos and crap but he was warm welcome and knowledgeable. My only reason for not giving a 5 stars was he waited until 1/2 way thru the transaction to let me know I'll be paying the taxes off the full retail value of the phones ($1200 and $800) and not my trade in value so we had to come out of pocket about $400 that we weren't expecting. So my only suggestion is start with that and be up front about it. But other than that it was fine. His phone cost was to be added to his bill. When I checked my dad's bank account, Victra had already taken the $406 out of his account. When I called this location to inquire why and get an accounting of the charges, Bradford wouldn't let me speak to the manager or inform me when I could see the manager. I came in to try and get back one of my old phone numbers that I had recently changed do to absurd amounts of unsolicited calls (I didn't realize that my old number was tied into my bank accounts, emails, etc). Every Verizon store that I went too said it wasn't possible until I stopped by this location. Ben, who was my rep at the time spent hours on the phone with customer service over a course of 2 days to make sure that I was able to retrieve my old number. DO NOT SHOP HERE! MANAGER "OMER" STEALS THE PHONES AND DOES NOT SEND THEM IN FOR TRADE !!! I came in about over a month ago to upgrade my phone. First of all, I found out the value of my phone was higher than what I was told. Since then I have been calling Verizon daily to find out if my trade in device has been received. And it has not !!!!!! IT DOES NOT TAKE over a month for a device to be shipped. This is not my first time doing a trade in. I went to this Verizon store on Tuesday to upgrade my phone from the iPhone 6S Plus to the iPhone 8. As soon as I entered the store I was immediately welcomed by Mustafa. Mustafa was very helpful and attentive to my needs. He let me know about the current deals Verizon was offering and was able to answer all the questions that I had. He also told me about the current deal for the 6th Gen iPad. I've been meaning to buy an iPad for a while now, so I took the deal and walked out with a new phone, accessories, and iPad. THIS IS NOT A VERIZON STORE!!! I've been sitting in this fake ass store for at least 30 minutes. There is one person working here who is setting up a phone for a customer. It's taking a while. There are no other sales people. The sales rep shouts over "what are you here for?" My wife responds, "we're here to just get a new screen protector. We purchased one and the sales rep told us if it cracks to just bring it in to have it replaced." This guy seems to smirk and says, "do you know who it was?" Does that matter? I have the receipt right here. I registered the product. It cracked without being dropped or anything, almost immediately after I bought it. Not to mention the guy up sold me on the thing. Charged $65 and said that it would never be a problem to get it replaced at any time. I asked as much and his response was that he'll help us in a minute. That store policies are always changing, that he is just the little guy. Another customer walks in, he helps her. Then we speak up, "hey we were here before that person!" He says, "oh she ordered in the morning." So now he's gonna do a whole other setup for someone else, another 20-30 mins. We were upset by then, not planning to wait again. As I left I asked if I could just have the new screen protector and put it on myself, he said no. Upon reading the receipt, the fine print says that we can return the screen protector within 30 days if it is found to be damaged. The liar who sold it to us is Jose I (if that's his real name). Great service at the La Playa store from Assistant Manager Shak. He transferred info from one phone to the other and waived the $19.99 fee as I signed up for an account. He also applied the screen protector to my phone. He gave me great service, over the phone before I went in, he asked me to ask for him and he would help me out. He was professional and friendly. The other employees were also on task, as Shak would prompt them if they were unaware. Firstly, I'm in customer service myself and as such I'm kinder and more understanding of customer service people than pretty much anyone. But... Over 1.5 hours spent in the store to simply replace my newly unresponsive iPhone X. I put up with a girl who had to ask her colleague Omer about each click on her screen (she had no idea how do anything or answer any question without asking him) rather than Omer just doing it and showing her. Neither displayed any regret for how long it was standing there. I was patient and at one point even asked Omer to please help her so I could get the phone and get out of dodge. After getting two signatures from me, Omer starts questioning my trade-in phone and saying that it was a stolen phone. I told him it was not and it was a replacement phone from the Apple Store for my last iPhone X who's screen also became unresponsive (the phone never had any other phone number associated with it, ever!). I'm a 50 year old man with a business account and 20+ phones with Verizon but, Omer's tone was as if I was a hoodlum with a stolen phone trying to get a $90 exchange value towards an $850 purchase. Yeah, apparently I'm not even a smart thief! At that point, even I'd finally had it and I said I'd like to just cancel the whole thing and I'd follow up with my business rep instead...I said "can I just leave and cancel this?" He said, "sure" and I started walking away only to hear him say to his colleague (and in front of another customer) , "what an a$$hole". I turned around, as you'd expect and demanded an apology. Never in my life have I had such an experience (and that's saying a lot in this world of poor customer service) and I feel sorry for Omer who doesn't understand the main purpose of his job and has such a lack of respect for someone twice his age if not even a customer. If anyone from the store cares, look at the footage on your cameras and I hope you have audio. This occurred yesterday (Jan 6) starting at ~2:15pm. I'm the only male customer in the store at that time (mostly standing patiently but slowly losing patience in body language) and I don't look a day over 49. Omer needs some serious training on his job in helping customers in a timely manner and not swearing at customers too...and the woman associate needs training in all respects including not continually being distracted by her own personal phone ringing and messaging while "helping" a customer. Oh! And just like Kenny L's review below, the female associate told me the exact same thing. A screen protector, case and battery backup were "included" with a purchase of a phone and I almost fell for it too. I'm sure the associates get rewarded for upselling (and I totally get that!) but in her case she's simply deceptive and in all honesty, lying to Verizon customers for her own benefit. ***Added comment after store owners response: Thank you. I just hope you will review the footage so you'll have a true picture of the experience that these two put your customers through...and not whatever they say. I rarely put out bad reviews...see my review history...I'm in customer service myself and I know that customers aren't always right and especially on Yelp and other review sites. Literally all of the people working there are useless. I'm so confused by some of the reviews that say the customer service was good, because, even as a loyal Verizon customer and purchasing a new phone, hardly anyone would give me or my fiancé the time of day. They are constantly texting, laughing and just hanging out. Not a workplace environment. On a whim, I went into this store because I consistently experience horrible customer service at the union city location. I was pleasantly surprised to meet Cameron, whom was super friendly and outgoing! He informed us at our pace of the changes in phone plans as we had not upgraded our plan in 3 years and were not aware of the changes. He was very patient with us and explained everything in detail as many times as it took for us to understand. Finally, we decided to change our plan and buy 2 new iPhones. Unfortunately, both phones were not in stock. I was not interested in waiting 2-3 days for the phones to be shipped to us, so I told Cameron that I would buy the phones elsewhere. That's when he went above and beyond! He went to 2 different locations to get our phones for us on his own time, and we were able to pick them up the following day. I am really impressed with all that he did to help us. The pick up and activation process was quick, simple, and exciting! Cameron was very upbeat and patient with my mother whom was upgrading from android to iPhone and was not familiar with the device. I will definitely recommend this store to my friends and coworkers.
