My phone broke suddenly and I needed a new one. I found Victra, open and conveniently located just to the left of Target in Davis in the shopping center there. Buying a new phone is always cumbersome and long, but my experience felt like it flew by. My Verizon representative Chris helped me enormously, generously offering advice and etc. I walked away feeling truly served and with a beautiful new phone with all the right accessories, all set up to use, and a greatly discounted iPad for my son who needs it for school this year. Excellent service. Friendly staff. Just a great store where you feel like a human being interacting with other human beings rather than just a customer to be dispatched as quickly as possible. I was treated very poorly by an employee this weekend. He was rude, aggressive and had very limited knowledge about the products and services. He would cut us off in conversation. He never spoke in full sentences. It was difficult to make out what he was saying. After an hour of trying our hardest to purchase what we needed, we had to abort the process because of the amount of difficulty he was having in trying to complete the sale for us. It was really disappointing to have wasted so much time there and gotten nothing out of it but a really annoying evening. Why does a company like Verizon do this to its customers. Now, I have to drive to Vacaville to try and do the same thing all over again. I called and shared my concerns with the manager but it sounded like he was good friends with this employee and that he felt his staff performs at their expected level. There was a deal that was good and a couple days later he called me back with a better one he had come across. When I went in all data and apps were transferred without a hitch. Awful service. I just needed a new sim because of a faulty one in my existing device on my existing Verizon acct. They ended up closing my existing account and creating a whole new one without saying a word and added the new sim in my old device to this new account. So all my existing billing (and plan) got changed and it has taken me nearly 3 hours on the phone with REAL Verizon to try to get it fixed. I would have saved time and frustration by driving to Sacramento or Vacaville to a REAL Verizon store versus the short trip to these dishonest and unethical hacks to make what should have been a very simple and routine sim change. I would not go back to these guys and if you want good customer service and honest dealing, you won't either!! read more

Came in the day before Thanksgiving to upgrade to iPhone 7 from iPhone 6 due to a battery issue. The manager, Luis, was super helpful with successfully transferring my dying phone's memory to the new one since it's been a while since I backed up my phone. He was extremely patient with me and helped me make a bunch of phone calls to make me a primary account holder so I could make all these changes as well. He's also very thorough with information, stating that he just wants to make sure I know all my options, even if they're out of my budget. Overall, I had great customer service and would recommend going in. read more

I stumbled upon this Verizon store when my phone was dead and needed a quick charge when I wa dropping off my daughter at UC Davis. As they charged my phone the manager, Luiz took a look at my phone plan and made several recommendations on how I could save money and get more data . I come here to get our phone upgrades. Horrible experience! I was talked into getting a "free" tablet because overall my phone bill would be cheaper. They didn't have any in stock but I could pick it up the next day. When I went to pick up the "free" tablet, it turned out to be a $100 rebate while the total came to $143. I should have canceled it right there. However, I sent in the rebate taking pictures of all of the information. That was May 2nd and it is now the end of August. For the last month, I have been on the phone with Verizon 7 times trying to nail done the problem. Apparently the departments don't talk to each other. I have been bounced back and forth, promised to be called back etc between Verizon Wireless and their rebate center. After I finally got found the "right" person to resend the documentation too, they told me I had the wrong department and someone else handled Kindle rebates. It was no secret during any of these phone calls that my issue involved a Kindle. The new number I was given went to a Gold Buying line. It is starting to feel like a scam. I called Verizon back to relay this information and the person was down right rude and not very understanding of the hassle this has been. I have been with Verizon for 10 years. Great service for 8 but a lot of challenges these last two. I don't recommend this store location or Verizon itself. Once our contact ends, we will be looking for new service. read more

I walked in, tried to buy a $35 screen protector and was treated quite poorly. Nobody wanted to help me make my purchase (I picked it out on my own and asked around to get help checking out). I got the impression that they don't make commission from a screen protector. I told them I was leaving and they didn't try to stop me to make things right, as a result I'm not shopping at Verizon again. Also I'm about to switch carriers and I was going to go to Verizon but this gave me a taste of what to expect from customer service so I'll just go with someone else. Horrible service. Upsold my husband into buying a more expensive tablet than I wanted by telling him this tablet had a rebate. We have submitted the rebate twice and it keeps getting denied. I went back to the store for help and had to walk through smoke as the employee stood right outside the front door smoking a cigarette. Still not resolved. I brought in an old flip phone to activate for my daughter. After Salesperson activated the phone, she told me that there is a $40 activation fee and $15 "set up and go" fee. I expected the activation fee from past experience. When I questioned the $15 fee, she quickly offered to take that off. Couldn't really explain to me exactly what that fee is either. When I called Verizon Wireless directly, they said the Set Up and Go fee is for service like transferring your photos and contacts. None of this was needed for me since this is a new line. Very fishy business practice of not telling me what the charges are up front. Will not come back. read more

I have had my fair share of horrible experiences at Verizon stores and it is nice to finally breath a sigh of relief with knowing the associates at this store are on point with their service. I went in about two weeks ago to get info about an upgrade from store manager, Jesse. He was AWESOME and so helpful. They didn't have the iphone color I wanted in stock so I ended up buying one at the Arden location the following week-- WHAT A MISTAKE. The girl at arden completely messed up my back-up and didn't properly transfer my contacts, pictures, and everything else you could imagine. I went in to this location today with my brother to get his phone line set up (with my old phone) and also with hopes that they could re-back up/fix my new phone. Gwen went above and beyond to make sure we left happy. She fixed EVERYTHING and seriously had the best attitude ever and we loved her. The assistant manager was also very helpful as well. My wife and I stopped in to upgrade her iPhone today and were greeted by the new store manager, Luis. He was friendly, informative, and professional every step of the way, from getting us cold water when we walked in to opening the door for us on the way out. Luis walked us through all the details about our current plan, the options we had available, and the steps to take to upgrade her phone. We never felt like he was giving us a hard sell, even when talking about accessories like cases and screen protectors, which is a first for me in buying phones. Thanks for everything! read more

I had a very bad experience with an Elipsis 8 tablet from this store and with Verizon. My first experience with Verizon is with a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which was a 5 star experience because everything worked. When this store offered me an Elipsis 8 tablet at minimal cost, I took the bait. The Elipsis 8 worked for about a month. Then, the BIG defect appeared when the GPS would say that I was heading east when I was traveling west, would direct me to turn right when there were no streets to turn into on the right, and would have me traveling on the wrong road (show me on the frontage road rather than on the freeway, for example). I complained to Verizon and we reloaded all of the software, but It still did not work. Verizon agreed to exchange it, I sent it in, and they returned the same one with new software writing that it met all specifications. It still did not work. I cancelled the contract for cause (merchandize does not work), and Verizon changed me $175 to cancel. I am now out almost $300 for something that does not work, and Verizon staff are "sorry" that I am upset, but they are of zero help. This Verizon store in Davis is also of no help. I can only conclude that Verizon is not a reputable company as a reputable company would have made good on its merchandise. Here are two sad things that I heard from Verizon staff. One staff person suggested that I sell the Elipsis 8 to someone else. WOW! Today, a Verizon staff person told me that that problem with the Elipsis 8 is the Google software and not the tablet, and therefore it is not Verizon's responsibility. The assertion ignores the fact that the Google application in the Samsung phone works perfectly at the same instant that the Ellipsis 8 does not work. WOW again! This is a classic case of "blame someone else" by Verizon. In summary, I would suggest not doing business with this particular Verizon store and find some other carrier other than Verizon. Note that this Elipsis 8 experience is the only negative review I have written on the internet. read more

I came in to the store add a line and phone to my wireless plan. Things started off OK, but as we're setting up the phone plan the salesman starts talking to me about my Internet service and gives me the hard sell about switching from what I have (AT&T DSL) while never naming the company I'd be switching too. Honestly, I just assumed Verizon was now offering Internet in Davis. In this conversation, he swore that (1) the price for the new service would be exactly the same as what I am currently paying AT&T (2) that I would not need to buy any new equipment; (3) that the price he was quoting me was fixed and would not go up after any term; and (4) that the service I would be getting would be much faster and more reliable than the service I already have. Guess how many of these things were true? NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM. As we proceed with the transactions, he tells me that whoops, the Internet price is actually $10 MORE than his initial quote, but he swears that the service is so much better that it's totally worth it. I am uneasy but I reluctantly agree that I am willing to pay a bit more for an improvement in service so we continue. I ask again to confirm that I won't need any equipment and he swears that my existing DSL modem will work even though he must know full well that it won't as he knows it is a cable service (I still didn't know at this point that he was selling me Comcast Xfinity and not some Verizon service - I only found that out at the point of signing the contract). But he does say he will add on a modem rental to the agreement just in case, failing to mention that that will add another $10 a month to my bill. Then he shows me accessories for my new phone - I wanted a case but in addition to that he sells me on this glass protector thing. I assume it costs ~$10-15 bucks - my bad for not asking. Then he tells me that whoops, it turns out there *IS* an install fee of $25 for the Internet but he will throw in the phone case for free - I just have to pay for the glass protector. Which I find out, as I'm seeing the bill at the end of the transaction, cost $50!! There's no way I would have agreed to that had I know the cost. But by then he had already put it on so it was too late. In the end, the Internet service he swore was faster and more reliable ended up being slower and not working nearly as well as what I already had so now I've wasted hours of my time trying to get rid of it. BUYER BEWARE. I can see how every part of this transaction was designed to sell me something I didn't want or need without telling me the true price or what I was actually getting until it would be exceedingly difficult to go back on it.
