My cell phone fell off the tailgate of my work truck and was smashed. Took it to Jimmy, and fixed it in a few hours, its like brand new!!! Thanks Jimmy..Excellent service. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I took my iPhone 17 Pro Max here to get the screen replaced a few days ago, and they completely ruined my phone. Before the repair, they mentioned absolutely ZERO risks. The moment I got my phone back, Face ID was completely broken and stopped working. To make things worse, I had to travel out of town for two months right after. Because this travel period happens to exceed their warranty window, they are now refusing to fix it! The issue happened immediately after their repair, so it is 100% their fault. They broke my phone, took my money, and are now dodging responsibility using a technicality. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. Save your money and your phone--stay far read more

Very satisfied with the service from Jimmy at iFix. He gave me a fair quote (much lower than another local business) to replace the shattered screen on my iPad. And finished the job on time, actually a day early. Nice guy running a family business. I will be giving Jimmy my business again if needed. read more

I wanted to support this family run business, but they sold me a used phone with no battery charge. I couldn't charge the phone and connect it to my iCloud without first purchasing the phone. Once I had done all that, the phone had absolutely no storage to even download two apps. I deleted everything except: settings, phone, camera and texting. I still couldn't download an app such as Amazon. There wasn't any space. I took the phone back the next day to ask for a reimbursement, even half and the owner wouldn't change his mind. I've done previous business with this owner and I wanted to continue to support his business, but he wasn't interested in that either. I'd rather drive to Roseville than deal with this business again! What a really horrible experience. That phone wasn't worth $5. I was taken advantage of, but I'm never going there again. I forewarn those who might choose this business in the future. read more

My review is for iFix Electronics on 603 4th Street, Davis, CA. The owner is a young man who has had the business for 10 years. He is so kind and thoughtful. I came in because I was visiting and my MacBook kept shutting down after I started it up. I went to the store. Other people came in and stood in line. I told him the problem and he did diagnostics on the spot. And he told me what I needed to do. He refused payment. I told him I would write him a review. Some people really know what customer service means. This company knows it. He took the time with me, knowing he wasn't going to charge me, while other customers were in line. Time wasn't money to him. Honesty is money to him. What a great guy! read more

I walked in with some headphones to repair and as I put them on the counter, the owner (I assume) says "No headphone". He couldn't be bothered to form a full sentence or even respond to my question of "do you know where they might repair these?" It was a very odd and rude interaction with him. read more

The staff here is very helpful, they saved me a lot of money. Thank you for all your help!

Great customer service and fast repair!!! Thank you Jimmy for helping me put together my gamimg pc. Will definjtely coming back for more service. Highly recommend!! read more

IFix Electronics - Electronics Repair Near Me - Davis, California

They fixed the problem I went in for. Unfortunately, my computer is old and developed further issues.

I just needed a very urgent repair on my granddaughter computer She is doing a very important summer class working on the computer every day till late at night This morning the computer was showing no battery and no taking charge I was in front of IFix at 10 am I told them about my very urgent problem,I left my phone number, and I went home waiting to be called Around 11 am they called me- the computer is fixed and for a very reasonable price I can not ask for more, because they did it PERFECT! Thank you guys very, very much! Mike read more

Charged 50$ to unscrew my laptop and tell me my motherboard was not working, proceeded to try to keep my laptop unless I paid. Finally gave my laptop back to me after hours of arguing. This is a scam shop and you are better off going to a REAL technician. Dude is just a scammer read more

Solution oriented, professional and reasonably priced. I've been back to them for various things. Highly recommend. - JC

The facts: 1- Asked to pay $40 for a diagnostic, after being quoted $30 on the phone, 2- They don't answer emails, even the urgent ones, even when ahead of times you explain your phone will be temporarily down, 3- There is a 30-day policy that stipulates that, if you don't complete payment for service, they will keep your device. They will make good on that, no matter what your life circumstances are at the moment, and no matter what emergency you're dealing with, and as stated above, will selectively ignore you when you contact them (because they've told you their policy). The advice: take your business elsewhere. I'm usually loyal to businesses, especially the local ones, but this one broke my trust pretty hard. It seems there was a change of ownership over the years? I hope they communicate and provide better services to their customers in the future. read more

They do not observe their posted business hours. This means that if you're counting on getting your very important device back, you might show up to a closed shop with a telephone that rings endlessly but does not allow you to leave a message. You may have to track them down to get your device back. This caused me a massive amount of aggravation and to lose income during my work day. I sincerely regret giving them my business -- they overcharged as well, for some of the worst customer service I've ever had in my entire life. read more

Great to deal with. True professional and definitely knows his stuff my 10 year old machine (an i7 6th gen) now updated (i5 12th gen) and no loss of any of my data. Thanks for all your assistance and advice. read more

Horrible. Tried to charge us $70 to reboot a laptop. We asked, "what else are you planning to do besides reboot it? We could do it ourselves." The guy smirks and avoids the question saying "fine you do it if you know how. Otherwise, I do it. $70" like what kind of scam is that? I'm glad I was with an IT friend otherwise they would have scammed because I would have thought they were doing something that I couldn't. For FREE. I'd take my money elsewhere. What really got me was that condescending smile. Trust me, consult elsewhere before blowing your money. Consult with my friend even! He'll hook you up with genuine help. read more

Thought I spilled some water on my laptop but when they went ahead and opened it - there was a drop of it. I still got charged $60 for it which was extremely unreasonable. I recommend you ask for the price of "looking at your device" before you hand it over. read more

Jimmy, from iFixit, is awesome! We took a 2009 MacBook into him that had been so full it stopped working (and updating). I was fearful because I had 12 years of photos and family videos on the computer, the oldest of which hadn't synced with icloud. Jimmy was able to back up my computer and install the photos and videos onto my new MacBook Pro. In addition, he wiped my old computer clean so that it now functions as a new laptop again. Jimmy was kind and patient throughout the process. This was the second laptop Jimmy has helped us with in the past five years and we will be back! read more

The owner charges $40 to remove three stripped/broken screws! When I asked him what was going to be his process for taking out the screws. He told me he was going to use a special tool...A special tool that I found out costs $8.99 on Amazon! read more

I always use yelp, but made an account just to write this review. I had high expectations for this place considering all the reviews raved about the customer service. Unfortunately, I did not have that experience. I dropped off a computer that had my entire life on it Saturday. There was absolutely no sense of urgency when I dropped it off. They called to tell me my hard drive was bad and a quote to replace it. I agreed. Now, I'm sure that a lot of people would realize that this means all their data will be lost... I know nothing of computers and did not know this. Regardless it was extremely poor customer service to never even mention that my computer would be a blank slate when I got it back. Luckily I was at work and someone else informed me of this. At this point I called this business and asked what would happen to my data. They stated that they would pull what they could from the hard-drive and reload it onto my computer once the hard-drive was replaced. However when I pick it up they weren't ready on time and said they just started working on my computer, so I don't think they even tried to get my data. I have since had someone else do the data recovery (in less than 12 hours, a 1/4 of the time these people had it), so that's fine but I would never take anything here. I would have been better off paying someone else in the first place, and would have had my computer back sooner. This place has abysmal customer service and needs to work on their communication big time. Who really thinks it's OK to return a laptop wiped clean to a customer without ever giving them a head's up? Completely bogus. One further note: I emailed the company before I posted this and after I picked up my computer. I expressed my displeasure at the situation and lack of communication, and told them I was going to review them. They didn't bother to even respond, so that pretty much sums it up right there -- they already had my money and they don't care about customers. I wouldn't go here if you have any type of serious problem with your computer, and I wouldn't go here at all if you want to be treated with respect and courtesy, Shameful, really. read more

Friendly, fast, competent, and reasonably priced service - the young man fixed my messed up charging/headphone port in less than an hour while I did a few other errands. I think it was a pretty straightforward issue, but I appreciated how quick and easy it was to finally get my phone fixed. read more

We have had two iPhones with batteries that won't hold a charge. Rather than spending hundreds on a new iphones we brought them to iFix Electronics in Davis and they were able to fix them in about an hour! They charged $40 per phone and now the they are like brand new iPhones again! We were treated with kindness and courtesy and they even provided a 30 day guarantee incase the new battery did not fix the problem. In today's society of throwing things away all of the time, it is really nice to have a reliable place that will FIX THINGS!!! read more

* Unfortunately this business does not honor the 10% Yelp check-in discount they claim here in Yelp, so beware of that. * Also be ready for a 3-visit minimum. They require (1) dropoff (2) return at least 24 hrs later with your own hard drive and (3) return another 24 hrs later to pickup. * Additionally, note that they don't provide an estimate, so you just pay whatever surprise cost they decide at the end, and they never show you what they did/didn't recover (I found out when I got home). * Lastly be sure you recover whatever items you drop off. They kept my power adapter and usb connection cable. read more

5/5 stars! I should've came here from the start. I got my laptop fixed for free, since it was only diagnosis. The staff there were extremely nice and helpful. They fixed my problem within minutes, while other computer repair shops wanted to keep my laptop for a day or too, without diagnosing it on the spot. What happened: I accidentally uninstalled a program or hard drive, causing a defect in the network connections. Also, I was unable to restore my windows 8.1. Therefore, Tony troubleshooted it and hard reset it. Furthermore, he gave me the option to bring it home to finish restoring it or wait at the store. I am waiting at the store right now just in case if it still doesn't work. Tony was super friendly and professional, most importantly, he did not make me feel unintelligent due to my lack of computer knowledge. I highly recommend this place for fast and efficient repairs without costing you an arm and a leg. Also, location wise they are extremely easy to spot out on the corner of E and 6th. read more

The owner knows nothing about laptops and how they works. I was asking a few question about my hdmi connection and he could not answer any of those. It took like five minutes and he did not even look at my computer. He charged me 20dollars without telling me the fee beforehand. read more

I used to love this place but with the new ownership it's not as good. My Macbook Pro wasn't charging (my charger would hold the charge but not increase it) so he sold me a used (I chose used) charger. When I got home I saw the charger he sold me had the same problem! I went back and he said it was the battery, so I paid to replace that. When I got home I still had the same issue (did he even check that it worked?) and when I scrolled over the battery icon it said "need replacing." What? Meanwhile I realized my computer was charging with my friend's charger just fine so I ordered a new charging cable. Jimmy was kind enough to order another battery for free and also swap out the charger he originally sold me for one that worked, but still....my confidence was lost. I recommend University Wireless on 2nd street. I've had great luck there with cellphone repair and juts found out he repairs computers as well. read more

Great service! He knew what he was doing and fixed my computer keyboard for a cheap price!

Brought my laptop in to get the screen replaced. 500$ later i can't use my camera and the fan won't turn off. So it's blasting air at full speed for no reason. Brought it back in outside of their ONE MONTH warranty and they didn't even bother to say it was their fault. Nothing happened to my laptop i keep it safe and secure as it is a MacBook Pro!! They said i must have dropped it and that's why the camera won't work. Yea no. Terrible! read more

Okay so the customer service is good, and the price is cheap. HOWEVER they have a 30 day period to bring your phone back if something goes wrong. My phones screen lighting is way off 6 days after the 30 day period. I can no longer see the time, phone service bars, or battery. I called and asked if they can fix it they said all they can do is give me 5 dollars off the 75$ total. read more

They fix the issue you come in with but cause new problems to arise when they give your device back. I am extremely annoyed and frankly don't understand how someone so intelligent can make such a simple mistake and cause you to lose all your data. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

This guy is a complete rip-off... proceed with caution - look at all the one-star ratings and five-star ratings, notice there's no in between. These people overcharge on screen fixes, though the prices on everything else seem alright, problem is they ALWAYS leave your electronics worse than when you brought it to them. I brought my ps3 that had some trouble starting certain discs, they were supposed to clean it... and only clean it, afterwards I got a yellow-light-of-death and they refused to acknowledge their mistake. It's a shame really, I thought it would have been cool to visit this shop while visiting Davis, but my golly their little scheme practically ruined my vacation. read more

My 4 year old MacBook Pro stopped working a few months ago and I put off fixing it as long as I could, not sure if I should replace it instead. In the end, I decided that was too expensive and brought it into iFix. They guessed it was the logic board from my description of what happened and quoted me a price to fix it. A few days later, they called to say it actually needed a new screen, which cost more. I gave the okay and it was fixed within a couple of days. It looked like it was working fine, but when I brought it home, it crashed again. I brought it back to iFix and they went back to their original theory of what was wrong. So I left it with them again and they again had it fixed within a couple of days. They didn't charge me for the 2nd fix (which actually would have cost me a little less in the first place) and also upgraded my Mac OS software and Microsoft Office, which was long overdue. I ended up with what was basically a brand-new computer for a few hundred dollars, making me really happy that I didn't just replace it! iFix stands behind their work, has a fast turn around and always called me promptly and kept me updated on what was going on. I would go back here again. read more

What friendly staff!! Definitely will come back if I have any other issues. So.. I dropped my iPhone for the n'th time, and it didn't turn on anymore. It didn't turn on while plugged in either! Brought it in to the guys here and I told them what happened. All they did was open it up and push down something that was connecting the battery! Only took 5 minutes, so ended up not charging me! read more

Thought I'd give these guys a review a job well done. My xbox suddenly stopped doing video-out one day. It RROD'd without actually getting a RROD. I brought it over to the buys at iFix, and they fixed it within 2 days. Got it back, and my xbox was working again. The same thing happened again in about a week. However, iFix has a 3 month warranty on their work. I dropped it off and got it back the next day. Just like new. It's been working fine ever since. Thanks for saving my xbox! Microsoft would have charged 2x as much and would have taken at least 2x as long. :) read more

Before I came in to iFix, I had asked my friend to fix my shattered iPhone screen and all was well until a week later, my LCD screen started to get messed up. So, I was like OKAY, Imma go get it fixed professionally. So, I brought it in to iFix and they just told me that the screen needed replacing again and that it would be done in and hour for $60. I came back an hour later, and they told me that a couple screws were missing and something was damaged. So i was like cool, but damn shoulda just got it done professionally. IT DOESN'T STOP THERE. Just last night, my stupid ass dropped my phone for the millionth time, and I picked it up to see that my LCD screen had gone insane again. So i was like daaaammmnnn. I went into iFix this morning to get it fixed again and told them i got my screen fixed here before, so they told me that they'd charge me $50 and it'll take an hour. So after work, I came back and the guy that fixed my phone the previous time had remembered me hahahahah. But yeah, all in all, these guys are pretty professional and very friendly !! And will def remember you when you go in twice in a month. read more

After 5 years it was finally time to kick Vista to the curb. Actually after 5 minutes it was time to kick Vista, but it took me until now to get sick of it. Tan's team did an awesome job upgrading my OS to Windows 7. They installed a good antivirus suite, too. My laptop came back cleaned and the wonky frame was tightened down. Definitely got it back in much better condition than when I dropped it off, and very reasonable price. Way better than any other place I've taken my place in Davis to. I came here to ask them to fix my hinge on my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 which also had a touchscreen. Tony was the one who helped me out and he took a look at my laptop and gave it the diagnosis. They let me keep my laptop for the time being while they ordered the necessary parts for fixing and replacement. He said it would take about 3-5 business days and he ordered them on Wednesday afternoon. We paid for a little over half the price as a deposit for the repair. I got a call on Monday morning telling me the part was received and that I could come in with my laptop for the actual repair. I came in around 3 pm and was helped right away. The repairs were finished in two hours, much quicker than predicted. The entire bottom part of my laptop was replaced and it feels like new. The hinge is also working perfectly along with the other functions of the laptop. Hopefully everything is fine with it now and if not, they have a thirty day warranty in case anything goes wrong.
