After a software update, my monitor would only display black (aside from a weird "sleep" message). PC turns on, monitor does display the sleep language but nothing else. Computer Doctor answered my call and told me I could drop computer off. I did so, and within a couple of hours, he let me know he was working on it. That same evening, he then texted me to let me know it was fixed (it was!). Thank you very much, and highly recommend Computer Doctor. SUMMARY - Laptop isn't fixed. - Still paid the full amount. - Got cursed at on the phone after I PAID HIM and posted the initial review. - He accuses me of "blackmailing" him for his precise yelp reviews & ratings and for the "precise," "valuable" $37. TO THE COMPUTER DOCTOR: You can say anything you want about me, "Computer Doctor." This is the SECOND yelp review that I've ever posted and the FIRST bad one. So people can judge for themselves whether I'm trying to get the money back or just had a HORRIBLE experience at your store. I remained respectful to you this whole way through. And what did you do? Reconsider your business policies, your ethics, your attitude, your way of treating people, and probably your career, too. This one star, you EARNED it. It took me about 6 months to write this review becuase "the computer doctor" runs a small business. I brought a prebuilt gaming pc to him to get a motherboard upgraded that I bought. I wanted to go from ddr4 to ddr5 and it was working perfectly when I brought it to him. He told me the next day it should be done. Besides the fact that it took 3 days, he damaged 3 of my products. He bent the pins on my stock motherboard, and my new motherboard that he installed. I noticed the bent pins on the old motherboard as soon as I got home from his shop but figured these are old parts anyway. After some instability issues I decided to switch from a Intel 14900k to a amd 9800x3d and when I removed the processor to check if he also damaged this one, I discovered that the pins on the new motherboard were also bent, which can definitely cause the instability issues I was having. The 3rd part that was damaged was a perfect working condition ssd nvme drive that I asked him to install into the new motherboard. And of course he said it wasn't responding so he didn't install it. I asked him to take care of some of the cable management and it was a nightmare back there. He didn't even re activate my windows key. If you have an expensive gaming computer find a gaming computer expert not just a computer shop. And he was a smart Alec everytime I had a question. He sent me a picture of the computer being worked on at the time and his bench was a mess which is what I think caused the bent pins like something falling onto them. Still paid the full price and didn't even call back until I met a fellow pc gamer off of Facebook marketplace who also had issues with the computer doctor. read more

My computer has been thinking about turning into a toaster for a couple of months. He was fast to respond to calls, texts, and emails, and he went above and beyond to make sure I had a working rig. My computer had a pretty complex, intermittent issue, and I was probably over there multiple times in the past two weeks. He only charged me $25 for the initial diagnosis and then subsequent tune-ups, which was amazing--I really thought I was going to need to pay more. A life saver! My MacBook was destroyed when my apartment flooded while I was living in the south. Tried to recover my data in New Orleans but everybody wanted 200+ dollars and it would take them days or had to send the hard drive in. Luckily I moved to driving distance to the computer doctor! The computer doctor is the REAL DEAL. Don't waste your time looking for rates or help elsewhere. You'll get your best work done here, efficiently/honestly/affordably. I've come to him for help twice now. The first time i had an older MacBook Pro. I believe it was a 2011. I called because I was wanting to sell this laptop, but It wasn't in selling condition. I told him my situation and mentioned that i was trying to resell it and he told me he would clean it out and make it workable for the next person. I called him maybe around 4-6pm (i don't remember) but he answered and said he could get it done later this night! He was very efficient with the process and helped me tremendously with selling this product. And for wiping the laptop and updating the OS System, he charged me a lot less than I thought. Maybe because I've been through a lot of other places who charge an arm and leg to just merely LOOK at things. This has also swayed me from getting things fixed. But because of the computer doctor, these feelings have changed. Fast forward and my own laptop was having problems. I have an early 2014 MacBook Air and I was having space issues. My photo library would never open, I could never save documents, I basically was just browsing the web. I couldn't REALLY use my laptop. I was getting real tired of this so made a call to the computer doctor. It was really close to closing time. I called him about my problem and he said I could bring it by that night!!!. Once I brought it by, he totally understood my problems and said he would have it done the next day! I brought an external hard drive just in case he needed to make room for my laptop. turns out, i didn't even need the external i had plenty of room in my laptop. I spilled water on my laptop AGAIN and the sound wasn't working. Requested a quote on Sat late afternoon through the yelp questionnaire thing but it didn't seem to work so you have to just message him yourself. I dropped it off that night. Just picked it up Sunday afternoon. It was $45 and everything is working fine! Awesome customer service, super nice guy, and really fast service! As he has stated multiple times on yelp and his website he doesn't clean the motherboard so I'll just have to wait and see and hope for that part. I was in Davis to visit my daughter, but had plenty of work I needed to finish. When I arrived at the hotel, my laptop's battery had suddenly become detached...it was such a strange experience because I had no idea what had caused this to occur. I then compounded the problem by trying to fiddle [and push in] the battery. I called James at 320 pm and he said he thought he could fix it although he had a 4 pm appointment. I drove right over (he works out of his home at the end of a cul de sac...I thought I was lost at first. He not only was able to use his tools to address the problem (which I had made worse) so that the battery slotted right back in, but charged too LITTLE! He was extremely pleasant to boot.
