MyronI have been a loyal customer with Verizon for about 12 years and had an issue with returning my IPhone 14 and my purchase of my new IPhone 17 online. Myron listened, read notes on my account, and called customer service to initiate a plan to resolve the issue. He ordered me a new IPhone 17 which arrived the next day and had me return two days later to complete my purchase. He took extra time to explain my transaction and set-up my IPhone 17. As he transferred my data he was very conversational with me. I have been a flight attendant for many years and I know what good customer service is and Myron was at the top of his class. If you like being ignored, transferred endlessly, and hung up on after waiting 45+ minutes, boy, do I have the company for you: Verizon. I came in with a simple issue -- one that should've taken maybe 10 minutes to resolve. Instead, I was treated like an inconvenience. Store reps shrugged me off, laughed at me, customer service agents passed me around like a hot potato, and "supervisors" were mysteriously always unavailable. Amazing how fast they disappear when a problem isn't easy. Promises were made ("We'll call you back." Spoiler: They didn't.) Apologies were mumbled ("Sorry for the inconvenience.") but nothing was actually fixed. I left more frustrated than when I started -- and that's saying something. Verizon, your phones aren't the only thing that's wireless -- apparently, so is your accountability. read more

Went in to upgrade phone. 4 people working, all looking at their cell phones. No other customers. No one greeted us. After 2 minutes a man asked what we were in for and I said to upgrade phone to newer I-phone. He offered almost zero assistance while leaning against the counter. Zero personality or energy. Zero salesmanship. We chose the phone we wanted and asked him to transfer the data. He didn't ask if we needed any accessories. We wanted to purchase screen protector but he said they didn't have any for the 14. Waited quite a while for the data to transfer while he was back looking at his phone. Finally we took the phones with us and let them transfer at home. It wasn't terrible, we did walk out of their with mission accomplished as far as a new phone but I would not recommend this store to anyone. Now I know why Verizon pushes to upgrade online and have a phone sent to you. They do not have the customer service they used to have. read more

Verizon offered me $800 to trade-in my iPhone XR. I sent the iPhone XR back to Verizon and instead of issuing me an $800 credit towards the new phone, they are giving me $22 a month for 36 months. If I want to switch from Verizon to AT&T I lose my credit even though they have my phone and promised me $800. I contacted customer service and they said there was nothing they could do for me. I would only receive the $800 credit monthly for 36 months. Beware of shitty offers from Verizon. I could've sold the phone out right for the same amount. I've been a customer for over a decade and that's the service that I received. read more

My mother got a new iphone 5 and then came back to the store 2 days later when I was in town to add on an iphone 4 for me which is "free" but you still have to pay $35 which isn't bad. The guy who waited on us Aaron , when I said I wanted the Iphone 4, he said "You mean the worst phone in the store?" He also added when I said no to a cover for my phone, "Oh so you're telling me your buying a glass phone, that's easily going to shatter and not getting a cover? So, first he told me the phone sucked, and its my first Iphone, even after I learned from him that the only difference between a 4 and a 4S is that I would have to pay $100 and could then use my phone in the Caribbean and Europe, would have a "better" camera and more memory. When it came time to ask me about insurance, when I just said I wanted the phone, all of a sudden the phone had a lot of value "this phone retails at $450 you really need insurance", not such a bad phone now is it? My entire experience at this store was terrible. We made an appointment in advance so we could go ahead of all the people waiting in the "lobby" to be seen. It really is like buying a car used to be when car salesman had power. If I hadn't been coached before I went in I would of bought stuff like a schmuck and ended up with a cover and screen protector, and a car charger ( I don't drive) for "the best deal in the store right now", said Aaron, $50! Screen protectors on Amazon are less than $4, sometimes less than a dollar and I can get a cute case with it all for less than $10. If Aaron had been nicer, I may have gotten something additional or been able to walk away with a positive experience and felt good about having to go back to the store for something. Seriously, this was worse than going to the doctor. Also, when we got there a guy was talking to us with his IPad, i.e. we were being waited on/ checked in, and the guy helping u\s just mid-sentence stopped and helped the guy behind us which I thought was extremely rude, his name was John. There were people in the store, but it wasn't very crowded, and no excuse for him to stop what he was doing and help someone else. I think the whole, we are just standing here with an IPad and not behind a desk thing, makes people not able to have order. They need lines to follow the rules. Also, there is nothing vusially appealing or interesting to look at in the store. I feel like verizon should hire a designer to make their stores user friendly for the girls and the gays. I went to the Cunningham Drive location to look for a case and a charger for an iphone 6 and was very pleased with the salesperson, Dezmon. He was helpful and kind. I chose this location (Glenway Plaza on Glenway Ave) because it is a corporate store and in the past that meant better service, at least when your looking buy. Not the case here. Initial wait time from the guy who jumps on you at the door (kudos to this location for not holding his physical handicap against him) until I was assisted was less than 2 minutes. Maybe the emptiness at 5:45pm should have been a clue? So I tell John my situation. That I'm shopping for my elderly father who is mostly deaf and did not like the smartphone he had. Based on all the criteria I provided John said they has 2 options. Limited sure, but I expected that to be the case. So John drops me off at the display for choice #1 and goes to get choice # 2. So here is my real complaint. After explaining I needed to COMPARE and TEST the phones he said it's not possible. That choice number # would have to be purchased and activated to try it out because they didn't have one on display. Oh, and they were sold out of option # 1. Never offered any further comment, just walked away. I went to him and asked about another location naybe having more choices tgat could ve TESTED. Nope. John says I dont know, and stands there just looking at me like if I let yesterday it would not be soon enough. I totally felt like I didn't matter now that he figured a sale (in that store) wasn't likely to happen. So I called the other location to see for myself and after about 5 minutes on hold with the automated system I timed out and "they" hung up?!? Okay, so I ask John about that specific store, said I heard they had a decent selection but didn't answer my call (just on hold) thinking he could look in the system or call from one location to another. NOPE, John just looks blank faced and stans there, no response at all. Do I leave the store l, walk about 15 feet and go back inside. I walk up to John, who is still behind the counter, and told I felt like he was blowing me off. So he gets defensive (pure sign he was blowing me off) saying I just don't have a phone to offer you (I guess the two options were a figment of my imagination)! I asked why he didn't offer to check with the other location (I had mentioned the 30 minute drive when I told him they hung up on my call). Again, defensive saying they won't take my call either! My entire experience at this location took less time than it did to write this review and yet it qualifies as one of the worst interactions I've had in at least 10 years! I know my review won't capture the fealing I had while John "helped" me with my mobile phone needs but if I could express it in words I can promise you that you would not visit this location, and if you did visit it you would run out the door if you were lucky enough to get John to help you too. read more

The first sales guy I got didn't know what he was talking about but then I came back the next day and got a better trained person (he didn't think we could use an iphone 7 on their plan!). She took great care of us and it was a complicated switch from AT&T with multiple phones/switching out some, buying new for other lines. They are always busy though but probably since Apple just came out with two new phones. read more

Gosh, my customer experience with Verizon certainly has gone downhill. I moved to Oregon for several years and decided to switch from Verizon cellular to Vonage landline, albeit keeping my 513 number. Alll I had to do was tell locals where I lived in the Southern edge of the Portlandian expanse that it was Five ONE Three instead of Five ZERO Three for an area code. Returning the the Nati two years ago, I moved back to verizon and shared a plan with a sibling to save money, but now that I'm moving to Clifton/Northside to pursue a second undergraduate degree in the arts with my GI bill we decided it's best to split the phone lines. Lo and behold, Verizon now nickle and dimes thee with a forty dollar setup fee. I should mention that I found this out at the Delhi location, which has no Yelp rating so far, and is actually a franchise of some type whereas the Glenway store is supposedly directly owned by the nefarious Verizon corporate behemoth. Anyway, I was going through the issues with my now somewhat archaic LG flatscreen phone, only two years old of course, with the lady on behind the desk who looked like the Mona Lisa, when the manager who looked like the Sailor who worked for me at the Kunia RSOC in Hawaii and wanted to get transferred to security as a dog handler (and I hooked him up too) told me 'you will be paying a forty dollar setup fee' and something to the effect that 'we're in the driver's seat here.' It had been quite a chore back at the homestead getting ahold of the assumption of liability department and such, and from there getting past the sales pitch for a new phone, data plans, etc, to the point where I just wanted my username and password set up so that I could set up auto-pay on my credit card and not have to worry about verizon anymore. This said, while I was keeping my voice down and all I wasn't setting the right tone for the next group of customers who were about to enter the store, so the manager jumped my case, big time. He informed me that I was being very disrespectful and was about to be ejected from the premises, most unfortunate as this would leave me without a Username, Password, or ability to pay my phone bill. He then inquired quite aggressively as to whether I'd even called the assumption of liability department at all (i.e. how do we know you own this phone) and demanded a password I was supposed to have received, which is rather odd since I'd provided my Driver's License at the beginning of the interaction to the other Verizon franchise employee. As I was trying to explain that It would help if we could get in touch with this assumption of liability department, and that the phone call was conducted on speakerphone with my sibling,, not me, he got rather hostile about it, though his associate/assistant said they couldn't really get ahold of them online as their internet was slow that day. At one point the manager asked whether the call was placed at the Glenway location, and another time just answered my question with a question of his own 'Huh???' all rather odd since I was under stated threat of being ejected from the premises. He then told me to sit down and relax and reiterated that at Verizon, they're in the driver's seat. I think the Monal Lisa lady took care of everything, and even downloaded Mozilla Firefox for me so I won't have to deal with Google Chrome and install Gmail on my phone (and having worked for NSA several times, that's a big relief I can telll you buddy). I was running errands with my next door neighbor who was driving and mentioned how odd the whole circumstance was and she asked if the manager was black and I thought, oh no, here we go with race relations in Delhi again, but then when I answered in the affirmative she immediately asked if he was thin. I said that he was, and she replied that he owned a sibling to her puppy Bindy, as apparently her Sister in Law was picking out a dog at the same time and had met him there too, whereby he explained he works at Verizon in Delhi. I think it affects people when I wear my old aircrew glasses from the late nineties, and yes I was an officer in the Navy at the spook NSA base for the Pacific region at Kunia Hawaii mentioned above, but these glasses were from my prior enlistment in the Air Force when I flew on the RC-135 signals intelligence gathering aircraft. Regardless, just like the dog-trainer/handler for security at Kunia he reminded me of, it probably got me out the door faster and at no additional expense to be given a simple instruction to sit down and chill out. But sure, verizon still sucks... read more
