First they raise your internet rate every couple months with no explanation. Then when you go to cancel, they suddenly are willing to work with you on lowering your bill and give you the run around so you won't cancel. Then when you cancel in a billing cycle, they don't send you a statement for what is supposed to be your last bill. They just send you to collections. Then when you call them out on it, they try to gaslight you saying they did send you statements by sending you one in the middle of the call that somehow gets through to your email when all the others in the past failed. The worst of the worst! Run! Was told by another spectrum store and phone customer service that we can return brand new unused equipment to any spectrum location. We are new customers and we were shipped new equipment but it never arrived so we went and picked up other replacement equipment. We were told that once the other arrives by mail to just bring it in to any spectrum location. We got the original equipment in Eastgate, OH. Went to the Madison Road location to return. I was carrying an extra large box with heavy equipment and had to stop to balance the box to open the door. When I walked in I saw 5 spectrum service people just standing there watching me struggle to open the door. I walked over explaining the situation and placed the box in front of a spectrum employee who again just watched me. Don't offer to help life the box. He then refused to help open the box. Then refused to help me take everything out of the box, then refused to return the items telling me I have to take it all back to the Eastgate store because it's from their inventory? This is not a franchise, it's a spectrum corporate store. So I'm attempting to take back spectrum equipment to a spectrum store. I ask for a manager. None. Asst. manager. None. Then another female employee opens her mouth and starts to argue with me, demeaning, and disrespect me. I politely told her I wasn't dealing with her and I would appreciate that she not interfere with what was happening. She kept arguing with me and told me that, "she can talk if she wants!" I then had to package everything back up on my own and pick up that very heavy extra large box while they all watched with smiles on their lazy disrespectful faces and tried to muscle it back to my car. I recently moved from one place to another and needed a cable run in the new place. Everything went according to plan and I even got new equipment. The downside is, I had to take the old equipment back, but that only took five minutes. Spectrum has really changed since the old days when you had to wait 30 minutes on the phone to even talk to someone. I have not had to wait at all. read more

HORRIBLE!! I can't even watch a 45 minute show without the internet going out for 5 minutes and then coming back. Literally every 5 minutes the internet goes offline and I have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to magically come back. I'm at the point I'm searching for other providers because it's frustrating when I'm watching a movie that takes 1 and a half hours to watch takes 3 hours because spectrum service sucks. Yeah, I am nursing a 20 year grudge. Back when they were Time Warner, I saw that my next-door neighbor was getting service set up. I gritted my teeth because I KNEW what was going to happen. Sure enough, my service stopped working immediately because the techs were notorious for somehow disconnecting me by accident. So I called the center to see if they could get somebody out. I was informed that this would take a week. I asked why. The service rep was blunt: Fight packages were being sold on PPV, and the priority was to get those customers hooked up for the fights. I was not a priority. I told the rep they were the ones who unhooked me by accident. Then the rep said "Sir, that is not my problem." And hung up on me. So every time I see a pushy Spectrum salesperson at Kroger, for example, I see red like Homelander having flashbacks about the furnace room. They made no attempt to make things right, and I indeed waited a week just so I could check my email. And from all the 1 star reviews, they have not changed in that 20 years. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I had been with Spectrum for over a decade. When I moved to my new house, my service came with me. I noticed a substantial increase in the amount of times my service was affected, and there were many times my Internet would be out when there were not any obvious reasons for it. Since I work from home, the reliability of my Internet is extremely important. I also noticed an increase in my bill when whatever promotion I apparently had ended I believe I was at the 400 tier for my internet. I noticed that spectrum had a lot of great deals for new customers and so I called a couple times asking about having my bill lowered. As a loyal customer for a decade, I assumed that something would happen and I could perhaps get a marginally lower bill. At least something comparable to what they are giving to new customers . When I spoke to the agent, I believe the second time I called, I was told that I I was "given" 600 for the price of 400 and apparently that was something I should've been grateful for. I asked about a different billing price comparable to what new customers were getting since I have been a loyal customer and was told that it just wasn't a feasible option for me. When I said that I would probably have to then shop around for new service, I was told to go ahead and do that. After this call along with the unreliability of the Internet, I did just that and I have just switched to a new Internet provider. I was originally told by the worker and the spectrum store that my final bill would be approximately $209. This was me paying for two months of service one I already paid for and one I have not yet gotten. After hearing this I went to an online agent and was trying to figure out how I was being charged for the bill. The worker in the store kept stressing to me. How spectrum is a "prorated" company, now I understand a word can be used in many ways, but it has always been my understanding and experience, and according to Webster dictionary, pro rate is that you are not charged for what you don't use. I explained to the worker online, that I had paid my balance of $104.99 up until September 25 so my final bill should reflect September 26 until October 3 because that is when I canceled my service. I was told that I have to pay up until October 25 and pay for service that I am not getting. If spectrum is telling their employees to tell us they are a prorated company, then my bill should be prorated. I shouldn't have to pay for the entire month. I have no problem paying for the days I used, but I should not have to pay for what I do not use and I do not understand how this is legal. I know I am a nobody to spectrum and they will not care that I'm having this issue, but it is extremely unethical to do this to your customers who have been loyal. I would've stayed loyal to spectrum but was told that a new customer was more important than me. I will never use Spectrum again in the future. I will never recommend Spectrum and I will warn anyone I can to stay away from this company and their shady practice. To anyone out there, considering using this company, DO NOT DO IT!!! if you have to pay a little more to get a different Internet provider than do that! It will be worth in the end, instead of being betrayed by this company. read more

The worst internet provider I have ever dealt with, almost nightly outages that last 3-4 hours with no explanation. Trouble connecting more than one device, when you call and finally talk to someone after over an hour they tell you to unplug the equipment and plug it back in, that's all they can offer, no discounts for not having the service that we pay for, no other options to help get the premium service that they promise. Spectrum is the worst! We had issues with our tv and internet for a month. 5 service calls and the problem was not resolved. I cancelled the service on the 20th of January and went with another provider. I received a bill for service from Jan. 1- Feb 16 for $144.00. When I called Spectrum customer service to get a credit on this amount since we only used the service for 3 days and those 3 days we were still having issues with our tv and internet, I was told that I am obligated to pay the full amount due to cancelling within a billing cycle. I spoke to a supervisor and was told that I had to pay this bill. I had been a customer for years with Spectrum, since it was Time Warner. I always paid my bills on time, etc. This is how they treat customers. I will NEVER use their service again. I was told if I don't pay this bill, it will go to collections and of course mess up my credit. This location is a HUGE improvement to the Highland Avenue one. I made an appointment online, and there were plenty of slots available. Arrived to an empty store, was helped and out in 7 minutes flat. That has never happened at Highland Avenue, I'm pretty sure I've spent hours of my life in that joint. This store is brand new, looks and smells clean, and the associate was super nice. Glad someone will read this review: 20 year customer who didn't like the on-off internet service so shopped, had new service installed w Altafiber, cut bill $49 a month + increased MBPS by 200. You can add higher speed, buy phones + get lots of other services on a weekend - but to cancel internet - you need to call 1-833-267-6094. So I did + was sent to their RETENTION dept. Sadly MONIQUE answered + started out soft + nice. When I advised her I just wanted to cancel + not hear the pitch on a lower price, then she tried selling me cell service. 23 mins she kept me on hold (I can see on my cell), and she was rude, curt and put me on hold often. SUCH A POOR CUST EXPERIENCE esp a 20 year customer - I should have left 19 years ago! True colors flying high with MONIQUE + Spectrum as if you are leaving - you are NOT treated well at all. cancelled eff 12-22-2024, she stilled tried to let it run to next bill ---NO. And new price she tried to pitch - $40 a month for 100 less MBPS than Altafiber. Just RUN away! read more

Zero Stars is pushing but I HAD to select a Star. This has been the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with a business. Depending on who you speak/chat with, the information varied. One agent told me that after the promotion ended, I could just take another available promotion. The next time I called with additional questions, that agent told me that promotions were only available to new customers. She told me that all I had to do was connect the equipment to my devices. When the equipment arrived, I realized from the instructions that someone had to install the connection line to my house, it was not a 'hotspot' connection! That service could not be provided for several days. Since this was becoming more problematic than it was worth, I decided to just cancel altogether. I canceled the service. Instructions emailed on how to return the did not include how to return the equipment so I called. The equipment arrived via FedEx but returns are to UPS! All I had to do is return to a UPS store and they'd handle it. Upon walking through the UPS store door, the clerk immediately asked if this was a Spectrum return! 'We get a lot of those!' She instructed me to hold on to the return slip like it was gold as it could not be reproduced and they could say I never returned it months after the fact. About two weeks after canceling the services, I received a bill via email. When I called about a full month's billing, I was told that I would have to pay even though services were never established and the account was canceled. I pressed for a supervisor and was advised to call the customer solutions department. Upon speaking to Angel, he notified me my account had never been canceled! He canceled the account, provided me a confirmation number and promised an email verifying the cancellation. I have yet to receive that email (20 minutes ago it was promised). The bill was removed, I was told, so I should be clear of Spectrum now. We will see. Everyone with whom I spoke with were very polite and courteous, but they were not all on the same page regarding information. This made me very leary of anything I was told. A duplicitous company - policy is to confuse on the phone, and use that to keep billing. Administrative erros on their side cost me hundreds, and made hundreds for them. All providers are difficult in my opinion, but the intentional deceit here was one I had to publish online. My advice is to 1) call customer service, ask for a manager, request a discount on your current offerings (with the real threat of switching). 2) Ask for a confirmation number for each transaction (such as cancelling or setting up service). 3) Keep all receipts for returns form carriers like UPS (take a picture with your phone) Spectrum will deny any ambiguity in the above - and keep billing you. read more

Rude office workers. Equipment guys and service are ok. Business workers/office only focus is on upping your bill and fraud. After trying to transfer internet service and having a rude employee be upset and confrontational for 45 minutes because I didn't want their cell service, found out service was never transferred.... And then went from having no service, to internet set up at addresses I didn't live at and being auto billed for it. Every time you call you wait on a computer for 20 minutes, and then no one seems to be able to help because "it's not their job" or "it shouldn't have been done that way". I have been a Spectrum customer for less that 3 days and have had 4 phone calls and 2 visits with them. When I called to set up service they were told twice that I lived in a mobile home community (where a fee for their service was being added to our rent weather we used then or not) but never once was I asked if I need to have someone install the service for me or did I have the right equipment. I was told the equipment would be sent to me and I can do a self install. um ok? The equipment comes the next day I attempt to install it but can't find a cable connection that is require. Place the 2nd phone call and rudely I am told I will have to schedule and install and wasn't his fault the customer service rep doesn't think to ask about it and do I want the appointment. Installer comes to my home today sets it up I connect my phone and all looks good. Not even 5 minutes after he leaves I have no internet. Make another call to Spectrum and after about 20 minutes of trying to get the modem to work properly I am told a tech has to come back out but they will come out tonight and I will get a call from a supervisor to confirm. Get the call from the supervisor who originally tells me they can't come back till tomorrow. After I state I was told they would come back tonight, he says I was told wrong. Then miraculously an appointment opened up for the evening. In 3 days I have had more contact with Spectrum than I did in 10 years with Cincinnati Bell. had a very concerning experience with spectrum this evening. Moved to Cincinnati and setting up new service and wasn't able to get our cable channels. And so it said "limited service " so I called and I was told by the person I spoke to at spectrum (I dialed the spectrum number through the spectrum app) that there was a hold on the account and she wanted a lot of very specific information about us to verify my identity and stop the hold, which she told me she had the exclusive power to do --And after giving our security word, and multiple previous addresses and my birthday, I was asked to either send or a copy of or give my drivers license number which I refused to do. ( we are talking about cable and not international banking, ). When I called spectrum back, I was provided with my Internet and cable connection and then connected to a manager who said that was the fraud protection branch and he couldn't say what their practices were. No, it was spectrum. I get CYA, but I believe one of the spectrum employees is involved in identity fraud. i'm probably switching cable companies, but be careful out there my friends. nobody needs that kind of information on you particularly so you can watch the news. And I hope the company is dealing with it aggressively, although they would certainly not share that with me. read more

We called constantly and if you are patient and can get through all the prompts to talk to a real person they give a standard boilerplate response that they are working on it. In reality they most likely are not. We discovered that although they claim to have 24/7 repairs the repair tech people only work Monday- frid 8-5.
