Absolute worst experience ever at a Verizon store. I went in simply to activate cellular service on my Apple Watch (which I bought elsewhere). The rep piled on a Verizon activation fee, an extra "store" activation fee, some random other charges, AND signed me up for a protection plan I explicitly said I DID NOT want. The Watch STILL isn't activated properly. I can't make calls or send/receive texts independently - it's completely useless for cellular. They basically stole my money for zero service. This feels like straight-up scamming: sneaking in unwanted add-ons and fees, then failing to deliver what I paid for. Verizon's "customer service" is a joke read more

It's rare to none that I leave reviews for non-food spots but this was a MUST. Alright, so the situation was that my iPhone 14 started going berzerk at random. I work from home, so the phone stays on the desk all day long. But the screen went lime green, flickering, and static. Within 2 hours, I had been talking with two different agents through the Verizon app/site and the customer service number. They were both kind and informative, but at the end, they just were not helpful enough. So this is where I'm told that I gotta hit the nearest location in order to just replace my phone, it's an emergency since I'm leaving the country this week. I gotta drive from Orcutt to Buellton, feeling mad stressed, but Andrew was incredibly patient, sympathetic to my situation, and took care of everything for me. He let me hang out to ensure everything transferred over okay through iCloud since I couldn't access the old phone anymore to see when the last backup was. Got me straight with all the accessories I needed -- he kept things as light as possible with the amount of erratic stress I was probably giving off. Brennan was also the other person working and was really nice to converse with while I was trying to get it all done and taken care of. So, MAJOR shoutouts to Andrew and Brennan. Went into store to have my cellular capable small tablet enabled as a phone. The listing on Amazon showed it can be used as a cellphone. Guy there said it's impossible and cannot be done. I only went to the store to appease my spouse, who thought they were PROFESSIONAL. Well, NOPE! Went online and found out all I had to do was switch the SIM card, it's in the card slot with the memory card. Check online FIRST when you need help with your phone. Wow, what a Big waste of time with Sam, an employee with the retail outlet at Verizon in Buellton. I was told by a Supervisor at the Corporate Office that I could bring my old phone in for trade with my new phone. Sam was immediately RUDE & told me to go to the store I bought it from. (The Supervisor at Corporate told me to bring it there/Buellton and they will see the notes on trade in information) Sam continued being rude and told me he wouldn't take the phone because he couldn't turn off Find my phone on the device. (It was actually quite easy to do when the corporate office assisted) What I didn't learn until I called Corporate back, was that most of these locations are only retail stores trying to sell the most items for little effort, because they earn commissions on the sales. (They want the commission but have *****extremely***** limited access to your account) The boy needs some training in customer service. I would have Fired him immediately if he treated any of my customers like he did me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND: Always contact the Verizon company 800-937-8997 for any help with purchasing a phone or establishing new service! The RETAIL store has about 5% access to help you within your account with the service or sales. PLUS, you can get better deals on items contacting Verizon directly. Sam refused to do his job because it didn't include a commission, he was rude and obnoxious as if I was wasting his precious time. (The guy was playing on his phone 90% of the time I was there) Thumbs down for the Buellton retail outlet. Ugh Shut them down and put a sign on the door with Verizon business phone number. I popped in to the Verizon store in Buellton this morning in search of a charging cable for my Apple Watch. Unfortunately, they didn't have this particular item. When I asked if they had any thoughts about who might have one, they suggested Lompoc, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara. Since I'm just in the area this weekend for a wedding, I couldn't drive to any of those distant locations. Turns out the T-Mobile store across the street had just what I needed. So disappointed that they didn't even think to suggest a competitor. read more

I took a friend into the Buellton store looking for help with an unusual request, get voicemail off an old phone and Nicholas and Gabriel, two very clever and patient salesmen, helped us. The old phone was on a Verizon plan. They helped us archive the voicemail. They should be commended for their diligence and smart problem solving. This is an excellent store. I was a bit concerned about getting a new phone and having to learn everything all over again. Also, there was much I had never learned. But these two guys were excellent in every. Way. They were very easy to work with and exceedingly patient. The new 15 is wonderful and actually easier to use but there are new features that are different from hold 8. Bryce and Nicholas made this a totally pleasurable experience. read more

Just went in today 05/1 the guy in there was so rude to me and made me feel so small because I was unfamiliar with prepaid plans and the different payment options. I couldn't wait to get out of there because I felt so embarrassed and stupid. I didn't want to be rude so I continued to be humiliated by this guy. Worse customer service ever! read more

Avoid this location. It is NOT Verizon corporate location. It is a franchise, which means you can't get the same deals you can get through Verizon corporate locations or Verizon online. I've been with Verizon since they were GTE (over 30 years with one of my phones). I went in to upgrade to a top of the line Samsung S22 Ultra. I had to wait 2 days to get a 512GB model, and an extra day due to flooding (not Verizon's fault). I paid $240 to pay off my old phone and another $178 from the old phone bill. All this was as expected. They offered me $800 credit for my old phone (as expected) toward a phone with a retail price of $1400. What they (employee Manuel Salazar) should have disclosed up from was that the store wanted another $138 payment (for tax) before I would be allowed to leave with my new phone. I had never experienced this before from Verizon in a dozen upgrades. When I asked for a justification for this I was informed that since the store was a franchise (rather than a Verizon corporate location) they couldn't include the tax to the monthly phone payment. They had also charged me an undisclosed setup fee but rescinded the charge when I objected to the undisclosed expense. I needed the phone for work tonight, but I was held hostage for a $10 balance on the taxes. They wouldn't accept a check or even my offer to leave another Galaxy Note phone with them until I could bring the $10 in tomorrow. The employee called the manager to ask if my suggestion were acceptable. The answer was a hard no. None of what Manuel did would have been illegal if he had properly disclosed the charges ahead of time. Enticing a customer into a sale or contract (and failing to disclose the full expenses) is known in legal terms as Fraud in the Inducement. It's a tort, with no limit on punitive damages. The manager could have saved my goodwill simply by not holding my phone hostage for yet another night for a $10 balance. He had discretion, which he failed to exercise. The store gets away with this practice of hidden charges (and dodges the legal consequences) by offering to reverse the entire sale (after files had already been transfered). If you want the best deal with the lowest out of pocket expense for a new phone, you can't get that here. And other companies appreciate the legal necessity of full disclosure and the prudence of managing expectations. read more

I wish there was an option to give zero stars for this store. First off they are not a real Verizon store however they have a Verizon sign outside. They are merely just a chain of retailers. I needed to get a screen protector for my new phone and they promoted and offered a lifetime warranty screen protector. It was insanely expensive at $43 and it ended up cracking within one day. I went onto the companies website for the lifetime warranty that they promoted and found out that it was $12 in shipping to get a new screen protector. How in the heck is that a lifetime warranty? I went back into the store and demanded my money back and they said they could not give it to me on a screen protector. I told them that they needed to stop promoting a lifetime warranty on a product when there really is no warranty. Bottom line is they refused to return it and I went right to my credit card and reversed all charges. They will get not one penny from me ever again. Don't bother going into the store. read more

The people that work here were not helpful whatsoever. When I walked in, One of the workers was on the computer while the other was drinking a blenders smoothie. I had a question about my phone, she didn't know the answer and told me to call the phone. I asked her, " can we call right now to find out?" She basically said I had to do. My parents bought a google phone online and went here to get some help learning about how to use it. Andres was rude and disrespectful to my parents. Said that because the purchased online they couldn't get help at this store. They went to Santa Maria after he practically shooed them out of the store and the staff in Santa Maria was very helpful and respectful. Very disappointing experience. read more

Although Verizon is one of the most duplicitous companies around, the people at this store are amazing!!! They really tell you in detail every option there is and are extremely nice and knowledgeable. I have had issues with my phone a couple of times and these guys always fixed it while at the same time made me feel happy I should up to begin with. read more

Ok, this is not the first time Andres has been awful to my mother. The female employee there currently is wonderful but Andres has problems...perhaps maybe he was hangry this time being that when my mom gathered herself and came back to discuss his behavior he was at lunch. I was with my mom the other time but not this time but he can be so rude to elderly people- this time for merely forgetting that checks are not accepted for phone payment. You do not need to berate and make someone who forgot that feel like a stupid child. Get a grip you are in customer service. Andres Lopez, the manager, is dishonest and disrespectful. He sold my wife a new number and then told her the following day that the line was already in existence and any new phone would be charged a premium. When I asked for him to undo the transactions so we could start over, he threatened to impose several fees. On top of that I found that I was already charged $30 on three occasions to set up one phone and one line. I had to lodge a complaint with Verizon over the phone to attempt to correct this "theft." Verizon the company told me they are indirect and operate without oversight. Beware that you will be charged far more than in a Verizon company store, and you will receive no customer service if problems arise. To make matters worse, the store did not have accurate records and were evasive with the Verizon phone rep. Very shady. read more
