I've read many of the previous negative reviews about this store, but, I must say that my experience exceeded all expectations. A Verizon rep at this store location, by the name of Matt, was extremely helpful in a quick and courteous manner resolving the issues that I had with my phone. Verizon, the corporation, was at fault for my cellular service issues. The employees at this store were not only helpful, but gracious. Dont support this store at all!!!! don't pay your bill here or even buy your phone here go everywhere but to this location the morning manager is nasty asf and rude they hate there job and they selves clearly as nasty as the attitudes are. they are a bunch of crooks in there. They added a line to my account without my permission inflated my bill. When I went back to the store to show it to them, they would not adjust it. I called the Verizon customer service. They fixed everything and why they do this is because when they add a new line, they get commission on it. I filed a fraudulent account with Verizon and also with the Better Business Bureau. Do not trust them they are thieves. they added so many things to my husband's account that he would never use. He went into the store just to buy a flip phone. They add to my account without my permission I am the account another line which I never asked for they added travel pass for 3 days insurance for $120 flip phone never had in his life. They just kept adding things to inflate my monthly payment. When I got the email from Verizon, that's how I figured this all out. when I went back to the store for the third time, they literally dismissed me and told me I had to wait for the next billing it's only an estimated bill which I know they were full of baloney. It is very inviting everybody comes in and they are told this is free. That's free. You get an upgrade for free and then there's a $40 installation fee and a $10 monthly fee and you go ahead and you except everything. All of a sudden your bill jumps up $180 the representative cannot explain the cost we go to cancel the new watch and the new iPad and then we're told there's a $50 restocking fee per item. Have to go back to the place you got it from. Also, sales person upgraded the service for this phone even though we told him no. Would stay away from this place. We went to ask information about the plan. We ended up purchase 2 iPhone 14 Pro Max because of the great customer service that provided by Erick. Erick is very caring and taking his time to explain and help us through all the process of changing the carrier. Not only that he also helped us to install the screen protector. WATCH OUT!!!! They leave with your ID and disappear into the back. I know where to look if I have identity theft. They will only try to sell you the latest model because that's what they earn the highest commission on. They will tell you there is no other options. I was also told to go to a competitor because unless I wanted an iPhone 16 there was nothing he could do for me. Do I understand where these 1 and 2 star reviews on this page are coming from? Sure, I can see their perspectives but I have to say, my reason experience here was a 5 star one. The location of the Verizon is located within Bay Terrace, which is right off the Cross Island and soo close to the Throgs Neck Bridge. I was meeting a friend at the movie theater but he canceled about 30 minutes before the movie started (I wasn't too annoyed because I had done something similar to him accidently a few months ago... things happen!). Since I was in the area, I figured I should at least get my phone checked it, as it's been acting up lately. On a daily basis, perhaps even 10x a day, it will have a mind of it's own and acts as if a ghost is controlling it. The place was pretty packed, as expected, but the gentleman near the entrance (kind of like a restaurant host really), put my name down on his ipad and said they would call me when ready. While I waited, I got a chance to play with some of the newer phones and I have to say... androids are really nice! Some of them really seem to blow the iphone out of the water and are a fraction of the price! Ok so back to my customer experience. When my name was called, I showed the repair guy my phone and he quickly asked if I had bought it here. I assured him I did but embarrassingly enough, I was confusing this phone with the one I bought for my dad! It's been a long week and I didn't have my coffee, woops! In fact, I had actually bought this one on craigslist about a month ago and he kindly pointed out that it was, unbeknownst to me, a refurbished model. Turns out, the guy on craigslist wasn't being 100% honest with me (go-figure.. right!). Well he told me not to be embarrassed, as that happens all the time. He also commented to me (at a low volume), that while they could fix it, it would be cheaper for me to either fix it myself (which I've done in the past with older iphones, really not that hard, it just can be tedious) or I could wait until the iphone 11 comes out very soon, as the current models will drop in price when they do. I appreciated the honesty and took him up on option A. What I really loved about this location was that no one tried to get me to upgrade phones and lose my grandfathered unlimited phone plan. I went to Verizon corporate store at 23-70 Bell Blvd, Bayside, NY, 11360. I was having problem activating my new Android phone with 3 verizon customer service reps over the phone & went to the store to get help since my old phone was deactivated as well. Manager Randy was extremely helpful in fixing the problem. My new phone was activated & all the info were transferred from my old phone as well. I did not have to wait long. The store have 5 representatives to help customers that day. Randy is friendly, patient & he can multi-task. If I need a new phone in the future, I will visit this store. read more

I gave this place 5 stars because I thought I was getting the best customer services ever. Until my bill came and I notice the other lines that I wanted added on was never added on. So to make this review short as possible everything I said in the prior review never happen. I wanted to add additional lines and those lines was never added. I already had HUM before it came to Verizon so I switched to Verizon and I was told I needed to buy new boxes and I couldn't transfer over my old boxes. HUM told me this was not correct and I could have, now I have to pay activation fees and paid for the additional HUM boxes. After speaking with a Verizon representatives I end up saving nothing and spending more money. I can't believe I was lied to. I will never step foot in that place again. read more

She has no phone right now and lives alone, she's been a Verizon customer for years but I'll be making sure she changes carriers after this. I bought a phone today at the Bay Terrace location and I have only great things to say about the experience. First, I had accidentally scheduled 3 appointments and Cree, a Verizon store representative, called me to clarify. I arrived at the store 30 min after she called me and I was warmly greeted. Cree helped me with every aspect of phone selection and setup. She clarified all fees and charges that I will be seeing on my upcoming bill. She really went above and beyond. She was very kind and knowledgeable. Shout-out to Andy too for his valuable insight. Cree made a very daunting experience more tolerable. Thank you so much! read more

They need to learn A LOT about Customer Service!! Got a new iPhone 15 couple days ago and was having trouble pairing the phone with my headsets, Smart Watch, etc. Went to the Verizon at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center and explained the problem to them. I was told "You need to bring in the headset". Okay, I got the 2 headsets and returned. 4 GUYS at the store! So, 1 guys takes the headset and tries to pair it up. Unsuccessful. "It's a bad headset" was his response. Really? He replied, "Somehow you have to reset it." Okay, moving on...I asked about the Smart Watch. "Yeah, you have to delete and start over again". I asked how do I do that. The response......."If you go on YouTube it will explain how". I looked at the other guys and they ALL had a blank look on them. I'm trying to get through! I'm trying to get a solution. That is why I went there int he first place! I tried again, "What do I do? I mean, both headsets are no good? I drive a truck, I need them for work". And I get the response, "Nothing we can do." I left, went to the Verizon store located at 40-04 Bell Blvd. What a DIFFERENCE!! Night and day. Walked in "Hello Sir, how can I help you?" I explained the problem. we sat down. He started with the Smart Watch. 5 Minutes later, it was done. Ran a diagnosis test on the phone. Have no idea what he did....within 10 minutes he paired BOTH SETS OF HEAD PHONES!!! Went back to the Verizon at Bay Terrace Shopping Center and told the guy "You all have a lot to learn about customer service". His response...."Uh Huh". I got annoyed and another person who was trying to act like a manager asked him whats going on? He said "I don't know". And yes, I blew my top, "What do you mean you don't know?? This is my third time here this morning". Again with the Blank Look! Useless. Unreal! Instead of the phone being free they tried to charge us 800 dollars. After long fight with manager they gave us a different phone for 500. Mind you we were told the upgrade would be free. This was my go to store. For years they were terrific - great customer service, knowledgeable etc.. As of yesterday, that totally changed. I went in to exchange a phone - simple exchange. I should have known when that seemed to confuse everyone I was in for trouble. Just awful. First they activated the phone we were returning. ??? Then told me I had to pay my bill which wasn't due yet. ??? Then they spent three hours trying to figure everything out. ??? At the end, no new phone, a lot of money spent and probably a brand new carrier. Not sure what's going on with Verizon - maybe just this store but steer clear unless you want your pocket picked, your patience gone and your frustration level to grow. read more

This Verizon Wireless store visit was one of the most unpleasant experiences. There were only four customers with three employees. Two of the employees were obsessed with helping one customer, who was clearly making a big purchase. The other employee was left to help the remaining customers. I was the second customer on the waiting list. By the time my turn came (after 45 minutes!), the single employee who was helping the customer stood up and said "I'm going home". I was left to wait another 10 minutes! Finally, it was my turn. All I needed to do was to get my new phone activated. The staff tried to activate my phone, and after about 10 minutes of trying, he told me I had to call technical support. I walked out with no result after spending almost an hour in the store. They need to get training on customer service. They are only concerned about big buyers, do not care about people who need customer service. read more

Terrible customer service. I bought a clip on September 21, which broke. I was told that it was more than 14 days and I should send it back to the manufacturer, which by the way it is a Verizon product. I said i just don't understand 21 years as a customer dosen't mean anything. When i spoke to manger Bradley he told me he was both a customer for 15 years and an employee for 7 years and verizon wouldnt exchage the product. Let's put it this way, more went wrong that right in this transaction. First things first I'd like to mention that the duration of my visit was THREE HOURS! Honestly I didn't even waste that much time or hassle when buying a brand new car. The whole process is overcomplicated and multiple people getting involved in what should be a one person transaction just overcomplicates things further! I was opening a new two line contract and purchasing two new phones. Sounds simple enough right? We already researched phones and had visited other Verizon locations twice before deciding on the phones we wanted and we were 100% sure about them when we arrived to finalize our orders. This should also have made things go much smoother. We check in and place our name on the waiting list with Tan. We had several people ahead of us and even though there were about 10 employees on site at that time it still took nearly an hour for us to be seen initially. Finally Michael approached us to begin the process. Then we were introduced to the manager Jennifer. She went through an unnecessary overview of the phones even though we told her that we knew exactly what we wanted. They all were courteous but the process took a while because we were interrupted several times when the rep had to go in the back to get questions answered that he was unsure about etc. They didn't have the phone I wanted in the color I wanted. They told me I was getting the black one instead but this phone actually looks grey not black. They didn't have the exact model of the phone my husband was looking for either so he settled on a similar model. These were the first issues to arise. Then they said we couldn't do a trade in only to be told by someone else that we could. It seems like the answers vary based on who you ask. When it was time to do the actual trade it they said that they didn't have the phone in question listed in their trade in program but their advertising says "ANY PHONE" so they took the phone and said they will figure out how to enter it later because they claimed to be working with a new system for that process. (More on this later...) I kept my number and transferred it to Verizon. I am still waiting for the transfer to be complete. I can use the phone but when someone calls my old phone still rings. My husband was under the impression he was getting a new phone. Well the problem is when he opened the box and powered it up someone's old contacts and information etc. were already stored in the phone. We paid for a new phone but clearly that's not what he got. We will now have to go all the way back and probably wait a million years again just to get it replaced. I am supposed to get an employee discount from them. I gave them my employee discount card and they said they wouldn't take that because it was not a photo ID however they said they would take a paystub if I return with one at a later date. As far as I know a paystub doesn't have a photo on it either so that's just absurd. They weren't helpful at all with applying the discount. Meanwhile when I called their customer service # the rep told me all I had to do was confirm my work email and social and it would be applied. So simple yet I couldn't get this done by the reps at the store. We finally get home and register and log into our accounts. 1. My name is spelled wrong. 2. My email address is at ".con" instead of ".com" 3. We asked for paper billing but were somehow enrolled in paperless. 4. When we were provided with copies of our contacts we were given the same identical contact twice instead of one for each phone/service. 5. I was asked my for my information over and over again multiple times even though they were in possession of my ID and the information being requested was clearly listed on it. 6. They tried to tell us things were "part of the plan" omitting that they had additional costs but I knew better and made sure to clarify. The customer service reps on their helpline were far more helpful and knowledgeable than the ones at the actual store. While no one was rude to us they all seemed to have a huge problem with lack of communication with one another and streamlining their business processes. Getting conflicting information from several people at the same store just makes everyone look unprofessional. I have to go back and get all the remaining issues resolved but I am not looking forward to it at all. This new business relationship did not start out on a positive note. Honestly I could keep going but I won't bore you with the tedious details but I will say if you can complete your transactions with them online or over the phone definitely go that route instead of heading to one of their locations. I'm not sure if any of the other surrounding locations are any better but I chose this one because it has its own parking lot. Parking is very inconvenient at the Forest Hills and Jamaica locations. read more

As an update to my previous Verizon Wireless review, dated 9/21/14. The so-called "Manager" was incorrect. It was a minimum of $99 for the year, plus the cost of the phone. I found this out when I ran out of minutes, and money, three months later. Got customer service on the phone. The guy told me to add $10 and they would be able to extend the plan to August 2015. When I checked back a month later, it was set to expire in January 2015. They seem very good at stealing my money. As far as customer service....THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! Went to the Manhasset store for my upgrade. Much better. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. No one ever knows anything in this store. They tell you something and you are billed something different. There were services changed and added to my account that I didn`t ask for and when I went back they couldn`t help me fix the issues, they told me to call the 800 number. Now I'm back here 16 days later because they failed to give me the correct receipt in order to redeem the rebate for the new phone. I called first and the told me to come to the store and they will print it out, it should only take a minute. Well... its been 40 minutes. Not sure if they are hand writing the receipt or what.. This store has got to have the WORST customer service that I have ever seen in my whole life. No wonder why everyone shops online and gets rid of the middle man at the retail level. I went into the store on a Thursday to purchase a new phone due to my camera broke on my cell phone. After half an hour of working with "Matt" he offered me a Samsung phone list price $799.00 for $435.00 with monthly payments for about $26.00. GREAT I thought sign me up. Then he explains that the store is very busy now, can I come back on Tuesday and make an appointment to transfer my data the same time? I agree to save time. Then when Tuesday at 1:00 pm arrives and I'm in the store, they have no record of me being there and the OFFER that "Matt" gave me had expired and now the cellphone was at full price!! Like so many others who have reviews here, I was struck by the complete lack of courtesy and competence by all 5 employees in the store today. I walked in with the intention of buying a new phone because mine had fallen and shattered the screen. There was one other customer in the store, and he seemed to be being helped by one employee. Not ONE of the other 4 employees acknowledged my presence. They were all sitting at a table toward the back of the store talking with each other. Several had devices in their hands. I wasn't even certain. They were employees until I made my way back to the table after about 5 minutes of checking out phones. I asked if any if them worked there, and they all sort of snorted and said yeah and rolled their eyes. I asked about buying a phone and only then did one of them tell me that their system was down and they couldn't help me at all. I got no information about phones, no attempt to discuss my needs or my plan or anything. All four kept repeating that they couldn't do anything. Not one of them got off their seats to assist me or speak to me. I will never return! What a shoddy experience. was scammed at the Bay-Terrace Verizon Store by the Asain young lady that works there as a salesperson and her store manage observed the whole thing. That tells me he endorsed her action. It started with the desire to switch from Sprint to Verizon and all the wonderful cherries they put on top of the sale made it irresistible. Fastforward 4 1/2 months later, I owed Sprint $1700 because the salesperson or store manager didn't provide me with all the information necessary so I could make a sound decision for my finances. They make car salesmen look like nuns!!! I have spend over 20 hours on the phone with Verizon since November with their pathetic custom service team and frankly, I don't have the time, the energy because at some point, I have to go to work so I can pay for these charges and find adequate rest so I can function the following day and get rid of these extortionist ASAP. I leave you with this: If you ever go into a phone store and a salesperson approaches you with an offer to switch from one carrier to another and it won't cost you a thing, PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE and at least you got a punch in! Today I had a scheduled appointment at 2pm, which I was greeted by Louisa. She was extremely pleasant and went above and beyond. I am not a phone savvy person, and unfortunately needed help transfering my photos and videos onto a different SD card. Sadly, I have an abnormally large amount of photos/videos on my phone.  The process took about 2 hrs. She was beyond patient and even went the extra step to transfer other things for me aswell ( I felt terrible and told her I would do it at home, but she insisted).  Not once did I feel like a bother to her.  She was very down to earth and professional.  After all was done, I proceeded to leave her a tip which she refused.  Overall, I had a wonderful experience and was thankful to have Louisa assist me.
