Brought in 2 laptops to be repaired. One was something that they couldn't fix because the laptop was a but old, fine. My problem with my other laptop was the GPU fan had stopped working. I asked for a quote before anything was done and they told me $150. I seemed hesitant and that's when the other worker from inside the office (owner or manager?) came out and tried to convince me it would take a few hours of labor and they would have to apply new thermal gel(I later found out this was not a huge deal). This seemed a little fishy to me so I told them I would think about it and left with my items. Forward to a week later, I ordered a new fan from amazon, costed me $16 and VOILA!, problem fixed in about 40 minutes. Moral of the story, do your homework before you take your electronics anywhere to get fixed to avoid getting hustled. read more

Awesome service, knowledgable technician and honest business. I was in the middle of a phone crisis. My iphone was on the fritz, the screen was cracked and it was totally out of commission. I feared the worst and thought I was going to need a new one, but decided to give Repair Sharks a shot. I didn't know exactly where it was and didn't gave the GPS. The shop is located in an office building on a rather quiet part of Northern Blvd in Great Neck. I actually spotted Chris in the parking lot and wanted to ask if I was in the right spot. He took me in 5 min early, turned on the lights to the shop and helped me immediately. He took apart my phone, explained the process, explained the risks and the possible solutions and was able to fix the phone at a very, very reasonable fee. He offered advice and his expertise and was friendly and helpful. When I got home, there were still issues. I called Chris who responded right away and assisted with more support. I cannot express how grateful I am for his assistance and personalized attention. My wife's iPhone 6 screen was cracked again, this time severely Since it was out of warranty, I surveyed the Yelp hinterlands and found Repair Sharks. I requested a quote and owner Dan replied in kind. Taking it the next day, Dan's business was quite brisk, but he had time to answer phone calls and a couple of customers while working on the iPhone. These guys are really awesome ! My iPhone 7's screen went blank after I dropped it on the floor. They took the phone apart right away and within 20 minutes they diagnosed that it's not fixable so I had to go through insurance.They didn't even charge me for their time! Daniel fixed my Macbook with a hard drive upgrade and a new keyboard and he even gave me a good discount, making the entire price of the repair job very reasonable (and affordable). He even fixed my LCD screen a few months ago, and although it was expensive, my screen has never looked better (it was expensive because Apple does not manufacture LCD's for my particular model of Macbook anymore, so that factored into the price). I have an iPhone 7, which was in need of a new battery. I really didn't feel like spending $800 on a new phone, so I thought I'd give Repair Sharks a try. Dan was amazing! He's extremely knowledgeable and honest. He replaced my battery and screen, which had a small crack. He actually tried to talk me out of replacing the screen, since he was able to remove and reattach it in one piece. I figured as long as I was there, I might as well make the phone look new. Dan detected a problem with the phone sensor, which he tried to replace. He realized, after several attempts, that he would have to order a new one. I brought the phone back and he didn't even charge me for the replacement and the time he spent repairing it. My phone works like it's brand new. I highly recommend giving Dan a try. I stopped by at Repair Sharks today as my Iphone would not accept a charging cord and the receptical was pushed inside the phone. Dan, the owner who has helped me with phone repairs a number of times in the past was busy working on another customers repair. Angel, an employee took a look at my phone and told me that he might be able to fish out the receptical without having to take apart the phone which would be expensive. He was able to do it using dental tools and bursts of compressed air while behind the counter where I could observe everything he did. He then tested the phone for about ten minutes in order to make sure the problem was resolved. The entire repair cost me $20.00! I have used this shop a number of times in the past for everything from a bent Iphone with broken front and rear glass to a broken screen. Very poor experience. They ordered a part for my Smartphone and were going to call me when it was in. They didn't (I had to chase after them). They said it was going to take one week to be delivered, and it took nearly three. Then, when they were installing the part, they were going to contact me when it was ready. Didn't. The worst part, though, is that the part was of inferior quality, and was even the wrong color for my phone. It would be difficult to get more elements of a job wrong. On the positive side, they were cheap. So, if you like inferior parts paired with poor customer service, this should be your go-to place. Not recommended at all. read more

I had dropped my iPhone 5c and the screen was slightly separated from the body. They were able to fix this issue in 40 minutes for $30 (or $20 with the Yelp deal). The repair person as great at explaining this familiar problem and warning me about the very small chance of issues. Parking is a bit of an issue as the address had no spots under the building. The next door liquor store had a completely empty lot, but complained about me stopping there. I recommend driving into Lake Success, behind the address, and parking on the street, and walking a block. read more

I came here solely based on the great reviews for this place and I am very happy I did. At first, I was a little taken back by the old dingy building this company resides in. However inside is pretty decent. They have a tiny office on the second floor but who needs a lot of space to repair an iPhone anyways? lol I came for a cracked iPhone screen and within 30 minutes, it was all brand new and beautiful! The customer service was excellent, the manager, the tech guy and the customer service guy were extremely nice and helpful. Don't be taken back by the small, messy disorganized office. I got water splashed on my iPhone 5 and it seeped into the bottom right speaker, it worked for a bit before the touch screen completely stopped working. So what you're supposed to do is to turn the phone off when it gets exposed to water, but the problem was I couldn't turn the iPhone off without a working touch screen. I tried to get as much water as I could out (and I did all the things you're not supposed to do to a smartphone when wet, like blow drying it). After a couple of frustrating attempts, the touch screen worked long enough for me to turn it off and I left it in a bag of rice overnight. The next day, I was stupid to think there wasn't much water that could've gotten in and I turned it on--which probably short-circuited the phone because it worked for a couple of minutes before the screen turned white... and then black. I then searched on Yelp and saw Repair Sharks. Let me just say, they are my saviors! I wasn't sure if they did water damage repairs, but I had to give it a try. Turns out they have a whole process of fixing water damaged phones! I left my phone with them (still on at this point with a black screen) and prayed to the phone gods to give my phone a second chance. Fortunately, thanks to Repair Sharks, they were able to repair my iPhone even after all that extra butchering I did to it. Four to five days later I was down $100 but it was worth the expense compared to getting it fixed at Apple or having to buy a replacement. After their great work on my phone, I referred my father to get his no-hopes-of-resurrecting-old Macbook Pro laptop checked out (the computer screen stopped working and Apple no longer services the model). To my father's surprise, they were also able to fix that too. We both left Repair Sharks giddy and grateful. These guys know what they are doing. read more

A few months ago, I accidentally deleted most of the data on my laptop's hard drive while trying to install a program which I was not familiar with at the time. The data that got erased, unfortunately, included the computer's recovery partition. I went to Repair Sharks because they are rated quite favorably on Facebook and on Yelp. That decision turned out to be a horrendous mistake. About a week after I dropped my laptop off, an employee called me and said that the hard drive needed to be replaced, because I "corrupted it to the point where it became undetectable." The new hard drive they put in was an HGST HTS725050A7E630, which is around $35 on Amazon; Repair Sharks charged me $80 for it. Recently, I decided to plug in this old, "corrupted" hard drive out of curiosity. I ran Darik's Boot and Nuke, reformatted it completely using the DOD 5220.22-M algorithm, and installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Guess what? The so-called "corrupt" hard drive works perfectly. My experience in dealing with Repair Sharks leaves me with two questions: 1. Why wasn't Repair Sharks staff able to figure out how to repair the original drive (which only required reformatting and reinstallation of Windows 7)? If you're going to open a business and charge me a couple hundred bucks for a job like this, you should know what you are doing. 2. Why did they overcharge me for a replacement part that I didn't even need in the first place? The bottom line is that I got ripped off by a bunch of amateurs who have absolutely no business attempting to repair anything more complex than an iPhone screen. However, my biggest regret is not doing a little more research and rectifying the problem myself. Lesson learned - that will be the last time I go to Repair Sharks for anything. read more

My two year old threw my iPhone 6 and the screen came apart from the back. (Despite my lifeproof case that was supose to guarentee me shock proof from 6 feet high and water proof etc) A few days after, the front camera stopped working (for all parents out there who also take 5000 pictures of their kids, this was a big deal to me!). I knew i had to go somewhere to get it fixed immediately.
