This is the second time I've been to this business. The first was okay. I had soup, which was good, and a couple of drinks. Someone else paid. The people at the table said what they got was good. We were in the main dining area and noise level was acceptable. One in our group was enamored with the chocolate martini. Move on to last night. I ordered two tanqueray and tonic and the appetizer empanadas. The empanadas were small, a little overcooked. I think mainly because they were frozen out of a package and they wanted to make sure they were thawed. They were ok and the chimichurri sauce was ok. My friends that ordered her craved chocolate martini was super disappointed. Her martini came in a much smaller martini glass than before. Apparently there wasn't room for much liquor since the chocolate had to be in there. She was not happy. Then comes the bill. My bill for two drinks and three small overcooked empanadas was $48. This included a gratuity of over $7 that had been added. Drinks were $24. I will not be back! read more

We found this gem during the beginning of Covid/quarantine. We ordered take-out, but were able to sit at one of the tables just next door. A gem indeed! Went in Thursday with a four top and had just about every tapas plate. We asked if they could make each dish with (4) instead of the standard (3) and they did so happily! Loved that. The drinks were fantastic and the plates were amazing! Each one of us had our own favorite dish wish made the experience more fun. Different plates at different times, kept our taste buds on their toes. My favorite were the lamb meat balls and the shrimp gambas. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!!! :) oh...always finish off with the Carajillo. Have been reading and hearing good things about this place. 5 Star reviews must be for the ambience, drinks and their Tapas which I hear were very good. Unfortunately we did not order the Tapas. We did order the Filet medium rare which came out Well done and dry. I ordered the Salmon which was bland with both items leaving a lot to be desired. Was hoping the place would have been better as we live in Bulverde about a mile away and very convenient to get to. May give them another chance to try the Tapas but then again maybe not. The owner(I guess) was sitting up front with some employees stuck his hand up and said Thanks without ever asking how our meal was. Good luck. read more

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but the end of our meal was ruined, by taking over 45 mins to get and pay our bill. We were out of food and drinks including water and no one around to help. The restaurant is small and quaint. Family owned and ran. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The Verdes Tacos and Empanadas were a hit. I wish there would have been a bit less of the cream sauce on the tacos because the meat was so good and tender. The Empanadas were full of meat which was great. The Blistered Shishito Peppers were really good and the siracha sauce wasn't too spicy. Next time I would pass on the Baked Brie and Chorizo Canepes. The Baked Brie wasn't quite warm enough and was just overall a bit too much. The Canepes had too much cheese and not enough chorizo and the wonton or fila dough was overcooked and too hard. The specialty drinks were great. I had the English Rose and my husband tried a couple of different drinks with tequila which he liked. We will definitely be back to try some other dishes. I would definitely recommend making reservations. read more

This is probably one of the most charming places i've been to in a long time. I went for Sunday Brunch with my whole family, we were the first ones as soon as they opened. The decorations are extremely charming, and we got the pleasure of talking to the owner. The details of the decor are modern-rustic and just beautiful! We ordered everything on the menu, and everything was so delicious! I got the Belgium waffles with potatoes and bacon. It was the best waffle i've ever had. It was topped with fresh blueberries, strawberries and homemade cream. It also had a side of a delicious jam sauce. The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone was super friendly. Great place to gather with family or friends. Fruit teas are refreshing without being pure sugar. Mimosas the BEST....had the waffle delisciousness, the empanadas i had never had with non fruit.....pizzas are made from scratch. If Zero stars was an option, I'd pick that. We made a 7:30 reservation for the Valentine's dinner. We arrived promptly at 7:20 only to wait until 7:45 to be seated. After being seated, we waited 15 more minutes without anyone stopping by the table to so much as bring us water. At this point we were beyond frustrated and walked out. I found this place doing a Yelp search, trying to find something close to home. The reviews, food photos and menu looked great. So, we were excited to try it out. It did NOT disappoint!! Food and service were amazing! We had the verde tacos, chicken bomb meatballs, pear/goat cheese/chicken pizza and cranberry walnut salad. Everything was amazing and all made from scratch! Most of their ingredients are organic. And they have the cutest bar with amazing hand crafted drinks like a key lime pie and tiramisu martinis! If you are a bourbon drinker, you must try their smoked bourbon drink! My husband ordered this and the smell was incredible! I'm not sure I want to post this because it might get trendy and be ruined! This new Bistro just had a soft opening last weekend. One of the partners is (at this time) the lead bartender at SoHo downtown which specializes in craft cocktails. This has carried to this new pub specializing in craft cocktails and small bites and tapas. Ruby our mixologist was wonderful. I had an Old Fashioned. She began with the usual sugar cube and bitters, but then used Topo Chico soda instead of the usual club soda. She then muddled the sugar, bitters and Chico in the glass then added the bourbon. (You can get Rye if you wish.) To top it off she bruised an orange peel, held it over a match (Ooooh sparkles) then rimmed the glass with it. It was the best Old Fashioned I can remember. My wife had a gin/cucumber martini which was refreshing. The make their own Bloody Mary mix. You will see the glass decanters behind the bar containing the home made mixes they use. The appeal is this serves amazing drinks and food in an un-pretensions atmosphere. If you don't want to drive north, that's ok, makes it less busy! Just happened to find this little gem last night because we got to another restaurant @ 7:55 which was 5 minutes before closing. A quick search brought up Verde and it was close by. I absolutely love this restaurant! The food and drinks were amazing! We tried the baked Brie appetizer and the pear pizza. I tried the lavender lemon martini and next was a strawberry lavender cocktail which the bartender customized because I don't like rum. They don't use any premade syrups for the drinks, it's all fresh fruit used in the cocktails. Wednesday is ladies night with $6 signature drinks. I can't wait to go back -- it's really THAT good! The service was equally amazing. Owners Oscar and Mari both came by the table to chat and thank us for coming in. They use only fresh ingredients and it shows in the good and drinks!
