CHARLIE!!!!!!!! But seriously, most women who are OCD about their nails, like myself, will agree how difficult it is to find that beloved nail technician. My nail tech left the salon I had been going to for almost 2 years and unfortunately there was no one that could take his place at that salon. Thanks to Yelp, I decided to give Venus Nails a try. I recommend making an appointment if you're going to see Charlie, as he is the only one that does a pink and white gel fill. I walked in and told him my saga and how I needed a new nail man. He asked what I didn't like about my nails right now and I told him the lengths were uneven, the white part looked sloppy, and there were bubbles on the nail polish. AND then he went to work! Charlie took his time and carefully compared each nail length to make sure they were even. He also took the time to make sure the pink gel was perfectly aligned with the white. He also asked me along the way how I was liking everything (length, shape, white thickness, etc.). By the time they were finished, I was a happy girl to say the least. I have found my nail man!!!! In the first visit, i was so in love with my nails, but this time was not the same... different lady took care of me, I don't complain about the cleaning part, but the painting was a disappointment. I got a gel mani for $35 and that is what i got... super think and textured color... never had this horrible result before in any other place. I had nice long and round nails and i wanted a little trim, instead after the cutting and filing I ended up with toddler looking nails . I had an appointment for a manicure and pedicure on Monday, Feb 20th. I specifically asked if they used the "Dazzle Dry" manicure. I was told they did. I get the dazzle dry manicure at home, which lasts 10-12 days. My appointment was with Kim. She was very pleasant and I thought she had given me a good manicure and pedicure. On Tuesday, Feb 21st, several of my nails were chipping . I called and spoke with the manager/owner. He told me I could come in that day or the following day. I explained that I was unable to do so because I had out of town guests arriving. I asked if I could come in the following week and receive a manicure at a discounted price. He replied "No" and that he told me the "manicure wouldn't last very long." This is completely UNTRUE! This experience was very disappointing and I felt he would have been a good business man had he allowed me to come in the following week for a new manicure at a discount price. read more
