Ventura Home Repair has been my go to for more than 15 years. The quality of work is outstanding and every repair has held up beautifully. Sean does it all and on the very rare occasion, recommended an equally talented repair service (e.g. re-screening patio sliders). Trustworthy, thorough, great value, and pleasant to work with. I've recommended him to neighbors who continue to hire him. Christy is always helpful figuring out what is needed and scheduling based on your needs. read more

WOW! I foolishly tried to install an exhaust fan in our bathroom. Turned off all the power to the house including solar. I couldn't get the power back on though. Called Ventura Home Repair, they walked me through the reset and power is restored! They didn't even have to come out! read more

Sean and Christy are a great team and have helped me out at my vacation rental many times over the past 7+ years. Sean is very professional and completes the tasks according to local code. I recently asked him to help me label the circuit breaker to pass inspection. I expected "Sharpie" work like most other guys but instead got a neatly labeled breaker box. I am so grateful to have found them . Highly recommended and trusted. read more

Contacted Ventura Home Repair right before a move to help with a few small things needed before closing. They texted back right away to try and fit us in and really worked with our tight schedule. Over the past four or five years, I've relied on Sean at Ventura Home Repair for all sorts of home improvement issues - plumbing, wiring, installations, etc. When you call, you'll reach Christy, who is delightful and efficient, and Sean will do the actual work. He is knowledgable, highly skilled, and efficient, and will always have good advice on the smartest way to proceed, should you need his help. And when it comes to costs, the word "reasonable" isn't adequate! You'll always be shown what materials run to, the labor portion always makes sense, and you'll know in advance what to expect - far better than other quotes I'ver received elsewhere. A solid, reliable, honest craftsman. I can't recommend the business highly enough! read more

Sean squeezed us in to fix our dryer and frig after an April move-in. Very knowledgeable about addressing our problems and coming up with innovative solutions. I would recommend him highly. read more

Showed within 1 hour and found out the problem within minutes I would hire him for other thing that repairs thank you Sean.

I texted Ventura Home Repair about a leakage under the bathroom sink. The water kept dripping down even though I have already tightened the nut on the pivot rod. Sean, the owner replied quickly indicated the leak is due to the pop up assembly needed a replacement. He showed up on time, worked neatly and efficiently, and very knowledgeable. After Seam finished the repair I asked him if he has time to install a new kitchen faucet. He made time to do it. Due to the small cabinet space he had to remove the garbage disposal to make room for the faucet installation. He was patient, detail oriented, honest, and above all reasonable priced. I am very pleased with his service and so glad I found him. I would highly recommend Sean because he will work an extra mile to keep his customers happy. read more

Service is great, labor charge is high. I will probably use this company again, but transparency in pricing would be nice. Nobody likes surprises. read more

I have just moved into a new place, and Sean helped make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible! There were a few things that needed fixing, and he did pretty much everything from installing new toilets, fixing broken shower handles, paint touch-ups, re-keying a few doors, etc. and even picked up the items, as I was not able to take off work and do so myself. He was thorough and honest about what needed to be done and followed through with quality work and quality products to ensure that I won't be having any problems/expenses for a while. Highly recommended and will be the first person I call if I ever need work done in the future. Thanks, Sean! read more

Arrived on time! Which is always a plus! Came up with an easy and affordable fix to what could have been a pricey job. Friendly and informative. Will definitely call for more work in the future. Highly Recommended. read more

WARNING!!! Do not do business with Sean because he will rip you off! First impression was good. A husband and wife business. Originally we had Sean out for a quote on closet door track installation. He suggested new doors instead of using old beat-up track for various reasons. Ok, so we talk about some other possible jobs for him to possibly tackle another time among other various topics not on the subject of home repairs that were of a personal nature (no big deal because he is a friendly guy and trying to drum up some business). So, after him spending some time at our place I start to feel bad for him that he spent so much time chatting and wasn't getting paid, so I offered him a simple task that I did not feel like dealing with at the moment. It was a trial/test of the services before I committed to hiring him for a couple bigger jobs. I am glad I did because I feel that he ripped me off. I should have known he was crooked when the work was complete and he asked me if I wanted an invoice. Good thing I did. The simple task of running out and getting the materials to completing the installation of a tension shower bar and a tub spout we were charged for 2 hours and told that he cut us a deal on the time. Materials were $45 dollars but he provided no receipt of the purchase. When asked about a receipt I was told that I could return the stuff and get store credit, ok. So knowing this amount for material sounded high we went to the store and priced out the items. Low and behold the items with tax included did not come out to $45 dollars, busted! If you try and say Sean that the other amount was to cover your piece of sand paper that you ripped off a roll you bought prior to this job or the little dab of silicone grease you used from your personal stash of lube, then I would assume those costs were included in the $40 dollar and hour rate you charged me to drive home and pick those materials up. Consumers Beware! Your motto should be instead "Overpriced handyman with a contractors license". Hope it was worth it. read more

Highly Recommend!! "Quality Contractor Work at Handyman Prices" from his website is totally true. He's knowledgeable, thorough, efficient and tidy. We gave Sean a list of installations and repairs needed in our new-to-us home, including cabinet and pull-out drawer installations and two electrical repairs. He finished everything in a timely manner, even when I added 2 more jobs to the list. His work is excellent in quality and his fees are reasonable. Thank you, Sean! read more

I needed two custom kitchen blinds hung and I found "Ventura Home Repair" on Yelp. I left my number on their website on a Sunday expecting to contacted on Monday. Within 20 minutes I got a call back and after having a nice chat with Sean's wife ( I was so shocked to get a call back on a Sunday I forgot to ask her name!) about what I needed done, we scheduled an appointment for the following Tuesday. Sean was on time and very professional, and hung my blinds in a very timely manner. He is very good at what he does; my blinds are perfect! Very reasonable too. Highly, highly recommend!! I will definitely call Sean again for any handyman work I need done. read more

Last year I moved into a rental home that had many problems! The homeowner hired Sean at Ventura Home Repair. He repaired and replaced many things including the water heater and the kitchen sink, he addressed numerous plumbing issues, replaced all locking doorknobs with new ones and re-keyed them to all work with one key! Sean was professional and thorough and I felt comfortable having him work in my home. I would recommend his service to anyone in need of major or minor repairs! read more

The most DIShonest person I've ever worked with! Had a small plumbing job done and it was done incorrectly and would not return my calls to repair his work. The charge was ridiculous, in the end I had to call another outfit to repair the job. I would recommend you stay away from these guys. read more

This was our first time calling a handyman, and we feel like we got so incredibly lucky to have found someone so effective and so honest. Communication was forthcoming, handyman was knowledgeable and conscientiously completed all the work to our satisfaction, even cleaning up after himself before he left. Thank you Sean for repairing my sprinkler valve. You worked in a timely, efficient and professional manner.

If you are looking for somone to work on your house- I HIGHLY recommend this company. Over the course of the past year or so, I have had Sean perform many jobs on my house, including replacing the gas shutoff valve, performing electrical work, fixing a plumbing problem in my shower, and replacing all of my sinks and toilets. He was upfront about exactly what it would cost and was very timely with completing the work. He did excellent work on everything he did and unlike others I have hired in the past, I could tell that he really takes pride in his work- which is pretty rare these days! He really cared about my needs, what I wanted to get done, what the end results should look like, and that the work was done correctly so I did not have to re-fix something. I was very impressed and will hire him again in the future! Since he charges very reasonable prices, I will also look at hiring him for smaller type jobs as well so that I know it will get done right... read more
