I would highly recommend Juan and his guys after the fine work they did in my older home. At first we contracted them to tile a bath and to seal up some old skylights. This guy Juan strung me for over a month and shame on me for believing the good reviews and trusting him. I had some termite damage to a ceiling and door frame which Juan promptly came out to give me an estimate. He said he would charge me hourly which was fine since I needed it done before I could paint and do other things for the house. We agreed on a date for a few weeks later for the work to be completed. The date came and went and he never showed up. After texting and emailing he finally responded and said he wasn't sure I wanted the work done. What? Weird? We agreed on a date, price, what else do you need? I should have ended it there. But he said he would do it the following week. Ok. Maybe a miss communication. Again. No show and now of course no returned phone call or text. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this guy. I agree with the earlier reviews, and would add that Raul Lopez is also an accomplished carpenter. He trimmed a new door for our pantry, both in height and width, so perfectly that trimming is not detectable. He and his assistant Ozzie installed a new wood railing on one side of our long stairwell, and matched the stain and finish to the existing railing on the other side. He also moved a light switch around a difficult corner and patched the hole well, and fixed a spot on the ceiling that had once suffered a leak. Raul and Ozzie did it with no fuss and cleaned up every work area. A bonus is that Raul also has an eye for design and suggested a couple of helpful changes. All for a very fair price. read more
