Shelves, wash station cart, and workbench

Juan has been a godsend! I was looking to replace some flooring and was lucky to have found Juan. The team is knowledgeable, efficient, and at a great price point. I was extremely happy with the job- After Hours is now my go-to. They have painted, installed shelves, made a wood workbench, and other miscellaneous things that needed to be fixed/upgraded. The most recent project he has worked on has been my pottery studio. He works within my budget to bring my studio to life. It brings me a sense of relief to have found someone that I can trust to care for my home.

I had a couple backyard projects and of all the people I collected quotes from, Juan was the only person who didn't just pick a number out of the air. He promptly provided an itemized quote including details of exactly the scope of work to be done, the materials to be used, and the cost. I found that to be so professional and avoid misunderstandings. He was also the most reasonably priced! He is clearly passionate about his work and seems genuinely excited and interested in his projects. I really think that's why he does such wonderful work. He's very responsive and communicative during the project planning and execution. I'd highly recommend him to everyone and he will be my first call for all future projects. Update: Juan also redid our poolside shower. It looks amazing! Update: Juan also built up our chicken run fence to a full enclosure. Fantastic work.

Juan and his crew did a wonderful job building a deck. Juan was prompt with sending an estimate and was able to start and finish the job quickly and efficiently. We were really impressed by the craftsmanship and the professionalism. We will absolutely use him and his crew again for future projects .

Juan did an amazing job installing tile and vanities in two of our bathrooms. I highly recommend him.

Bought a house in Camarillo and it needed renovation before I moved in. Pretty much updated everything. Juan was recommended by a coworker in the area and it was a great experience. I had a lot of work to get done and After Hours Handyman tackled it with fair pricing and honesty all along the way. Anything that went wrong they were up front about and made sure it was done right. What project goes perfect? But I can tell you Juan was on it. He even points out when things might not be quite right and jumps right in reworking it. Even with it being a very big project there wasn't much for mistakes along the way. I think you will be happy working with these guys! Overall, it may have took a little extra time (that always seems to be the case with these things) but in the end I am so happy with the outcome!

I called After Hours Handyman and Juan quickly answered. I need to connect my washer and dryer in the garage and Juan and his team were up to the task. They reconfigured my water and gas lines without a problem. I highly recommend Juan to family and friends. I will mostly definitely call them on future projects.

Honestly, I've had so many not-great experiences with various handymen over the years, that I…read moreprocrastinated looking for yet another one. But when we needed to change out an old bathroom vanity for a new one, we knew we had to get serious about it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.

I communicated with them through yelp and then we took to contact by phone/text. They were super communicative and prompt on setting up a date for repairs. They worked around my schedule which was appreciated and followed through without issue. I had them work on an outdoor electrical/lighting fixtures and Patrick did it with ease. He came with all his supplies and was prepared, he swapped out my old, ugly lighting fixtures and put in the new ones no issue. He was careful but prompt with getting this task complete. Very nice guy and someone you could trust and who did a honest thorough job. Aside from doing great work and being professional, the price point was also very reasonable compared to ten other quotes I got (yes, I do my research). They are affordable, professional and most importantly they did a great job. Even my neighbors watching from the outside were impressed and came over to take some business cards. I know I'll be locking them in for some more appointments and repairs in the near future. Great work and happy to have a trustworthy handyman in the area.

Work performed was not up to code and was unsafe. I had to have a different electrician (Conejo Services - they are the best), remove this man's work and redo it and was told that the potential existed for me to be electrocuted as the 805 Handyman did not install the panel correctly. He said the job would take 6 hours but after spending 12 hours on Thursday removing the old panel, he left and my family and I were in the dark (literally - he could not restore power as he had not completed the panel install). He came back the next day (Friday), and asked for $200 so he could buy a tracer from store. I gave him the money figuring I would deduct it from the estimate after the job was complete. After another 6 hours, we had power. As the job was still not complete, he returned on Saturday and, after realizing he did not have the expertise to complete the job, told me to hire a "professional electrician" to finish. Then he insisted I pay him anyway. After going back and forth via text message a few times in which I was insulted, told was "gaslighting," him and "messing with his head," this is the message I received: "All I know is you're a f*cking cheapskate son of a b*tch and I don't like the bullsh*t that you're coming up with adding more sh*t on top of it every f*cking sentence. I think you're a piece of shi*t n*gger.... it's rich a**holes like you they got too much money and you go around ripping the small guys off cause you're a f*cking wanna complain about this and complain about that. Yeah the electrician is gonna charge you way more than me and you knew that that's why you went with me then you just decided to rip me off keep my tools and f*ck me out of some money and everything else. You're a real piece of work. I hate your f*cking gut you n*gger... go f*ck yourself you piece of sh*t Please note that Conejo charged me only $500 more than 805 Handyman and I told 805 Handyman twice he can collect his tools at his convenience. At this point though, after receiving a message like that, I do not want him anywhere near me or my family. I have attached the estimate and pics of his work. The entry door, he locked after I clearly told him, I do not lock my door (I was only in the HOA patio for less than an hour): His response was: "You didn't say that you don't take the key"... Having no phone (it was in the house) I broke the window; His suggestion that replacing the door would be cheaper than replacing the glass.... I should have just paid the $425 to replace all of the glass, that way I'd still have a door that fits, instead of this new unfinished door. The old door has been discarded, so there is no going back. The door is level, but it is still wonky at the top left, the right side overhangs the jamb on the inside, & the door & top lock sticks... It still needs sanding/painting & the privacy window film put on. I haven't heard from him, and I'm not going to call: I have a few other jobs, but hey... I'm tired. I'm heartsick about this and every time I look at this door, I just want to cry.... UPDATE: The flaming door.... Fred offered to pay for the door, as being locked out was the cause of my breaking the window, but I declined. Instead he said he'd install & paint the door at no cost. Fred insisted that the door I wanted was only $300 at H.D. The door he showed me was not available at the local H.D. (but a $628 door was) which he didn't accept, Fred then showed me a screen shot of the particular $328 door, which was listed only at Burbank. So I ordered the door from Burbank. Burbank H.D. REFUSED to deliver the door to me or send it to their Oxnard store (even after Oxnard staff called & requested the door be sent to them) as they are not in the same area. Which was why Fred went to pick it up.... Fred didn't show up the next day as he stated in his comments to right the door..... and I haven't called, because at this point I'm tired too and don't want to deal with anymore of the stress & angst that this has caused me.
