Fred was referred to me by a neighbor; I had a long list of Honey-Dos (which keeps getting more added to it), but as there is no one to do the work (except for myself), I hired Fred: We've had our ups & downs, he'll not only explain how/why but most importantly he listens to my concerns, ideas & objections and will work with me to find the best solutions.. He worked with the plumber I hired & he's currently looking for a glass man to repair the broken glass panel on the front door... Fred hung a new screen door, moved a heavy keg planter, put window film on a glass door, fixed the toilet tank flap, installed light fixture halos, converted a hanging ceiling lamp to a hanging swag lamp, repaired a bathroom exhaust fan, secured a drooping tree, rewired a blown vintage lamp plug, filled patio cracks, removed some extraneous doors, drilled a concrete hole to secure a gate, drilled a drainage hole on a ceramic planter, cleaned out a clogged trap (that a plumber supposedly couldn't), removed flooring for a plumbing job (we both learned a lot about that), laid/repaired some cement foundation..... And I still have a list of more for him to do. His pricing is more than reasonable and I really appreciate the work he does for me.... I contacted Fred via email, and he responded about 20 minutes later. I explained the job via email and he said he had done a similar project before, so I gave him my address and met him at a prearranged location. Fred came up to my apartment, and I was fully expecting him to need an hour or more to do the job (this was removing a chair piston from an office chair). Incredibly, Fred had removed that piston in literally less than 10 seconds. This job, which I was struggling with for hours, was over, and we agreed to a fee that was much less than I had imagined. We've called upon Fix It Fred's services twice know. Mr. Fred was in the Navy for 20 years and served with the Seabees. He's changed hats and now is a dependable handyman. No "Leave a message after the beep" junk! This man actually answers the phone. Most recently, in a pinch, we needed a number of drawers readjusted and he comes promptly within the hour. He is friendly and at the same time professional during his visit. My kids are inquisitive creatures and he responded to them each time without a hint of irritation. Fred has done 2 jobs for me. He replaced a faucet the first time working quickly and efficiently. The second job was replacing baseboards in 2 bedrooms and a hallway. They looked great when he finished. He cleaned up all of the sawdust so I couldn't tell he had been sawing wood in the carport. When I went to pay him he reduced the price by $100 from the quote he gave me because my son and I had done some of the prep work - painting the base boards and moving the furniture.
