OK we went for my sisters birthday and this food was so good! I am so impressed with this I am going to tell you exactly what I ordered so you can personally request this special I had UNREAL "Pan seared mahi mahi lightly breaded topped off with crab meat served over potato dumplings tossed in garlic and olive oil served with fresh spinach and JUMBO shrimp and drizzles with creamy miso sauce" need I say more? We had a reservation on July 4 and we came few minutes early to check in. Noticed a lot of people waiting and tables empty. We had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated. Asked hostess what was the hold up she explained they were still seating people that had reservations 20 minutes before ours and the computer tells them who is next. Got to outside table 108 out there and finally got water 10 minutes while other people seated after us got drinks and bread. Dinner was ok my husband had seafood and some of the clams were not open sign of bad clam no pasta with dinner they should of not served the non-opened clams daughter's pasta was fine sauce was good, I had lemon chicken and chicken was fatty. Asked for bread sticks never got them. Also outside there were steamers and they were so overpowering we couldn't see and my daughter got really wet. read more

I had the field greens & the eggplant rollatini. Hubs had the chicken piccata! Both good. I think my favorite part was the garlic toasted bread sticks though! Great view @ night. We went for lunch. read more

I went there with my wife and was really concerned about salty food, bad service, high prices and other things mentioned in Yelp reviews. Boy were they off-base. Our server, Danielle, was great and let us order at our pace - though there was no real wait after giving the order. She helped us through the menu looking for lower salt foods and made really good suggestions.I ordered the Risotto Pescadore and my wife the House Fillipino Special (chicken, shrimp, risotto and vegetables with some brown sugar effect.) This after splitting a Warm Spinach Salad (split in the kitchen at no charge.) My dish was a surprise since it was so loaded with clams, mussels and calamari swimming in a light tomato base sauce/soup to make it comparable with a Boullliabase from the south of France. My wife loved her dish. If there could be a complaint it was that the size of the serving was larger than either one of us could handle. Next time we go through the courses and split each one. Then the bill came and it was completely reasonable. Surpise, Surprise after all the Yelp reviews calling this place expensive. If you really think that then you should stick to the buffets and their steam tables or to fast food restaurants. I think that Ventano's is something special. read more

Stopped in here a few nights ago simply driving down Horizon and had never known it was there. It was kinda late and my husband went in and asked if we still had time to get a hot meal and the hostess was very welcoming and told us no problem. We were seated right away and our server was just delightful. I really wasn't expecting much to tell the truth, but WOW. Being a transplanted New Yorker with some Italian roots I was very pleasantly surprised. This was some of the best food I have had in a very long time. The Calamari was so delicately breaded and tender, I had the Eggplant Parm and it was so cheesy and delicious, with wonderful layers of beautifully seasoned eggplant and my husband had the Linguine and white clam sauce that he said was succulent. I can't wait to go back and try EVERYTHING on the menu. read more

My wife and I went to Ventano on Christmas Eve for Dinner. Even though it was fairly crowded, we got seated on time(7 PM) by a window with a great view of the strip. Our waiter was a personable gentleman called Xavier who turned out to be excellent. We started out by sharing a Calamari appetizer which was served as a very generous portion. The Calamari was lightly breaded and quite tasty. For the second course my wife had the chicken parmigiana and I had the cioppino. The chicken parmigiana was a quite a large piece of tender chicken breast covered with ample cheese accompanied by linguine. The cioppino was outstanding with a very tasty broth and had clams, mussels, shrimp, fish, and calamari. Our waiter Xavier made sure we had enough hot french bread to sop up the broth with. The food portions were so generous that we just didn't have room for desert . Overall a great dining experience. read more

The food is very good here. Sometimes a bit packed but service overall is good. A little on pricy side for a neighborhood place. I always order the ribeye with peppercorn sauce. It's to die for! Actually I call ahead and if it's not on the menu or they can't make it, we don't go. The only con of what I've had is surprisingly their Alfredo is VERY, VERY bland. But everything else is full flavored and delicious. Go figure. read more

If an Italian restaurant can't serve good to great gnocchi I will not trust them ever again. I came in tonight with 5 coworkers, two from Japan and was very disappointed with my food to the point that I couldn't eat the very tough textured gnocchi. They tested like they came out of a very old freezer. I have been eating gnocchi for over 55 years made by my Mom or myself, so I do know what they should taste like and these miss by a mile. read more

We made reservations for Valentine's Day 3 weeks in advance and when we checked in with the hostess 10 minutes early we were told in a not so nice way that we would have to wait until our reservation time to be seated and to wait over by the Oyster Bar which we did not know where it was. We saw a bar but no indication that it was a Oyster Bar as it had at least 50 dirty wine glasses stacked on it. Once our name was called which we were identified by incorrectly we were seated by another hostess who too was not very nice. When she showed us to our table, there was no place settings. The hostess then slammed down the place settings which included a dirty bread plate. When the busboy came by to bring us water, I showed him the plate and requested a new one. No problem. While looking at our menus a "runner" came to our table with another table's salads trying to give them to us, we informed him that we had not ordered yet. The busboy then came by to check on us and realized that we had not ordered, he then called over the waiter. The waiter came and took our drink order and brought it to us, then took our dinner order. That was the only time we saw our waiter until I requested him at the end of our dinner to show him that I had foreign object in my wine glass that had came out of the carafe. His comment to us was that it must had come out of the "machine". Based on what we saw when we came in at the Oyster Bar, I am assuming he used a dirty carafe to pour my wine into. He offered a new glass of wine at no charge, but by that time I was pretty grossed out. When brought the new glass of wine he also brought our check, no offer of dessert. It was like hurry up and get out of here. While eating, we noticed a table behind us who had been seated before us that had not been served until after we were and they too complained stating that they would be leaving if their food did not arrive in 5 minutes. We also noticed that none of the candles were lit on the tables throughout the restaurant. This was Valentine's Day and we and others were treated as it was not a special day, which it should have been. When walking out, we overheard a couple of patrons mentioning that they too were not happy with the food and service. Overall, the food was mediocre, nothing special, over priced and the staff with the exception of the busboy were rude and not attentive. We were highly disappointed in our experience as we expected a nicer restaurant with great service and food. I highly doubt that we would ever come back to this restaurant based on this experience. There are far more Italian restaurants in town that are better to choose from. read more

Ventanos was one of my favorite restaurants until this New Years Eve. Since it's opened our family has celebrated NYE with an early dinner at Ventano's. This year made the same reservation. We got there and the restaurant was not full. We were seated in the banquet room on a small dance floor. I asked if we could move to the restaurant and was told no. Those tables were reserved. Yes, I had a reservation too. The floor was very slick and the table was very unsteady- as it was a folding table. The food was okay. The servers were very accommodating. There are so many choices for restaurants. It's a shame we won't be returning to one of our favorites. read more

How bad can a restaurant be? last night a group of 8 of us went to try and have a decent meal to this so called Italian Restaurant, Ventanos. Entering the bar we were rudely told the by bar tender that all tables were taken yet two were empty and not used. with some stupid remark he told us to sit down and then ignored us for the evening. 20 minutes after our reservation wa set for they allowed us to go into the almost empty dinning area. With over 7 employees standing around for most of the evening we waited over 45 minutes for the so called head waiter to take our order and then 30 minutes for the order to arrive. Unbelievably they served 2 plates then 10 minutes later another 2 plates and then the balance 5 minutes after that. The serving waiter had to stop and have a conversation with his buddies at the bar area so for him there was no rush in serving the cold food. So those who were served first to be polite held their food which was cold any ways and ate the same after 15 minutes. They never did come back to us and ask if we wanted more wine or anything like that. I ordered the lamb medium rare which came burnt and was lying on a slop of cold vegetables and so called roasted potatoes. It was served with cold gravy which had no relationship to gravy other than that is what they called it. The parmigiana dish was just slop with a thick cheap cheese that tasted like cooked dishwater and the spaghetti and meat balls was just a large bowl of slop. How could they ruin a filet mignon I guess by buying some off cut that was perhaps near the tenderloin and then using cheap seasoning. How people can call this food good, is beyond me as the service was lousy, the sauces were cheap and just slopped on and the food was cold. I guess if you have grown up at fast food outlets and Arbies this may be acceptabl What a joke. Why are American restaurants so bad well just to to Ventano. NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Just mad at myself for waiting so long to try this spot. We went on the Friday of Valentine's weekend without reservations, and had no issue with waiting 15 minutes to be seated. The server was very attentive (sorry for forgetting his name) throughout our meal, and we split an appetizer and each had a pasta entree. Food was piping hot and not from a heat lamp (huge plus), and portions were such that a bunch came home with us. Will absolutely return and bring visiting friends and family. read more

Great place! Quiet, peaceful atmosphere, and delicious food! One of the best views in the Las Vegas Valley. Don't miss this hidden gem!

We had a recent family gathering as a celebration of life for our grandparents and wanted Italian food in honor of our grandma. From the first email and call to Michael I had no desire or need to check into any other places. (Most of the family was from out of town so we did not have any local experience w/ventanos) Michael was responsive and provided our quote in less than a day and another one with adjustments just as quickly. The day of pick- up the food was ready to go at the time promised and was delicious!!!! The meatballs were huge! The lasagna and a bruschetta style pasta were fabulous - I just wish I'd been there the next day for left-overs! There was a lot of food and the price was so reasonable. Thank you Michael for making this piece of our gatherings of easy! read more

I went here expecting to pay an arm and a leg for some good food and wine, but I was wrong, Ventano's has AMAZING chefs who put some serious love and care into their food. The price was perfectly balanced. I believe my total came to 140 for 2 appetizers, 2 entree's and 2 $35 bottles of wine and a ton of their delicious free bread. Not to mention the BEAUTIFUL view of the strip at night . It was an al around awesome experience and it all comes with top notch service, my gf cut her arm somehow and the waiter went out of his way to find the first aid kit so I could patch up her arm. Everything about this place just screams " we care about your experience and night out" if you're going out on a date for the first time or if you're taking your significant other out for just a night of fine wine, delicious food and a beautiful view, Ventano's is right for you! Trust me when I say the pictures do not do it any justice! This place was absolutely delightful. Top notch Chefs, waiting staff, bartenders and bussers, they were all so polite and amazing. Thank you for making our night out so special! read more

It's a challenge trying to find a local Itialian restaurant with both atmosphere and good food. Well, this is it. The service and the friendly folks who run this establishment make it worth the visit. Owner/Chef Arneauld makes a point of leaving the kitchen during the evening to visit with his guests. Try and get that at a Strip restaurant! The menu offers a great selection of fish, seafood and pasta. Their signature apetizer, "Shrimp on a Stone", is worth the trip alone. Specialty this past friday was Red Snapper served atop perfectly cooked risotto, a mild cream sauce with baby shrimp and asparagas. Each meal is prefaced by their bread sticks in a brown paper back with olive oil and balsamic vinegar - tasty. But don't fill up on the bread, Arneauld ensures his guests don't leave hungry. His entre portions are just right. Another nice touch is that no differentiation from te menu is a problem for them. Want capellini instead of linguini, butter and garlic instead of red sauce, whatever - it's not a problem. You goota love a place where the food id tasty, the portions are plentiful and the service is excellent. read more

I went here three times now, and twice was with two Groupons ($20 for $40 worth of food). I used the first one on February 22, 2011 and it worked fine. When I tried to use my 2nd Groupon, it got denied and they said, "It was already used on February 23, 2011." Our server on the 22nd is named, Marcos, and I strongly believe he stole my other Groupon because he saw on the list that only one of mine was used. I used to tip well, and thoroughly enjoyed this place, but now I am very spiteful with them. The manager, Mike, was nice enough to give me one of the Groupons back, but I don't trust the server, Marcos, as I believe no one else should. The food is alright, but if you can't trust your server any longer, why eat uncomfortably? read more

Best restaurant in ALL of henderson!!! Great service, great food and prices are not bad, plus you cant beat that city view.

Have been going here for years, and feel that it's one of the best kept secret places in the Vegas Valley, which is a shame! I tell everyone about this place! The view of the valley is incredible! I've never had bad or even mediocre service, in fact I think the staff is wonderful. The food is wonderfully prepared, and I even learned from one of my favorite waiters that I don't have to have my side of pasta with marinara sauce when I order my very favorite Chicken Piccata......just ask for it all in a bowl, or "same sauce", and the whole meal is done with the yummy piccata sauce. Couldn't ask for anything better. My brother who lives in Portland always insists that we go to Ventano when he's in town, and he has even passed on this "must eat at restaurant" to his Portland friends who visit Las Vegas. Highly recommend this place! Oh, and did I mention the Shrimp on the Stone is a definite must have? read more

Last weekend; Saturday night. There were four of us; we had a reservation. We got seated 30 min late. Then I had to physically go to the bar to get a drink ordered for our table. That was the start of the service. To make up for it the waiter offered am extra risotto ball in the appetizer. They did apologize. However the service was just the same. Not much attention. Almost like we were being avoided. Then it took forever to get the check - was waiting and our table was bused but no check. We had to ask a busier for the check and never saw our waiter again. The food was fine but the lack of service will keep me from ever coming back. Our reservation was at 7:00. We left at 9:11 and weren't trying to take our time. We were going to see a band after which started at 9:00. It was irritating. In hindsight we should have left at the 30 min reservation wait time. read more

I am surprised by most of the reviews on here about this particular restaurant. We visited on a Friday evening and waited with a reservation about 10-15 minutes before being seated and it was not busy. The food was good, I believe it was moderately over priced. For the price I would expect a more personal atmosphere instead of wide open space and the neighbors chair 6" off my back. The service was slow but courteous. I ordered the clam chowder, I would recommend a little less grit to it. My husband ordered shrimp ventana and it was nicely proportioned and had a good flavor. I would suggest asking how much the beers are so you are not stunned to find out they are $10 each. I was not impressed enough to spend $100 on a standard soup bowl of chowder, plate of noodles with 4 shrimp, bread and 2 beers again. read more

Sad mush for eggplant parm... thought that would be an Italian staple..also marinara sauce is boring at best. left a bad taste in my mouth.

Caprese is a quintessential Italian salad consisting simply of sliced fresh mozzarella (preferably buffalo) and tomato dressed with olive oil, garnished with fresh basil and finished with salt. I ordered Ventano's Caprese which adds a balsamic reduction to the classic recipe. Unfortunately, the tomato was inedible - anemic pink with the consistency of Styrofoam and not a scintilla of flavor. The mozzarella lacked the creamy texture and delicate flavor of fresh mozzarella. The fresh basil and the balsamic reduction did not succeed in rescuing the inferior tomato and the dry mozzarella from embarrassment. The service also was sub par. A youngish server failed as a sommelier - did not allow tasting before pouring and having poured the initial portions, did not return to offer additional pours. An attentive server would have noticed that I had barely touched the tomato and inquired whether the dish was acceptable - he did not. Our party was seated in a booth with a view of the city lights and the young lady who managed the bread supply did her job. Although my companions said their veal saltimbocca was "good," the presentation lacked any artistry whatsoever. Granted, I am a Caprese snob but, at a minimum, if the chef cannot serve a delicious tomato and creamy mozzarella, don't serve the dish. read more

I made a reservation for 6:15 at this restaurant. Arrived a few minutes early and was advised by the host that we would be seated closer to our reservation time. We waited. After about 15 minutes AFTER our reservation time (6:30) we asked how much longer it was going to be. The host informed us they were just waiting for occupied tables to leave. I asked if we could eat in the separate bar or the bar in the restaurant as we had a late flight out and were on somewhat of a timetable. She said we could. The bar in the restaurant was too full for the three of us so we went into the separate bar, where we then waited for menus. We had to go retrieve them ourselves. Then we were greeted by the bartender (after he had greeted another couple who came in AFTER us) and asked what we wanted to drink. He then disappeared for a few minutes then returned only to ask a person in our party if they were 21 (he was 20). We were then told we could not eat in the bar. So after all of this we wasted 40 minutes only to be turned away. POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I don't care if your food is excellent, if you can't be good to your customers you should not be in business. It costs you NOTHING to be nice! We left and will NEVER go back. read more

Great food but poor service. Been there many times but after Saturday 11/22 I don't plan to go back. We waited a half hour past our reservation time to be seated. Then waited another 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table, so a friend went to the bar himself to get our drinks. Eventually Manager Mike came over and apologized. We order an appetizer, and the manager offer to add a little extra to the plate. No complimentary appetizer or dessert for our excessive wait. Finally the waiter came and it got better. Food was great but we did not get offered drink refills. We finished our meal and the waiting began again. The busser cleared our plates but the waiter still had not come over. After 10 minutes we asked the busser for our check. Still no waiter or manager. No offer for dessert, no drink refills, just waiting. The busser took the bill and we walked out without the waiter or manager saying have a good night. A total disregard for customer service left a bitter taste. We will not be going back to Ventano. read more

This was by far one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. First they brought the bread to the table in a brown lunch bag. We opened it to find small long rolls, heated but with no taste. Then we had the bruschetta. It too had no taste. Lacked garlic and good bread. Next we had baked little neck clams. These also were tasteless except for the chemical taste the clams had like they were kept in a icebox that was just cleaned with bleach. Two of us ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp wasn't bad but the asparagus tasted burnt. My daughter had the Thanksgiving dinner and it was all bad. The turkey was too thick. The stuffing was lumpy and tasteless along with the potatoes. My girlfriend ordered a dinner which had to be sent back because the breading on the shrimp was burnt. My daughter got a choice of pumpkin or apple pie. She chose apple to go. When we got home there was pumpkin in the bag. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Awful!! I am from the east coast. This is definitely not an Italian restaurant. read more

Took our sons and 1 girlfriend to Ventano's after they arrived from New York on the 24th of November. It was close to 9:00 pm when we arrived and our waiter asured us that it was not a problem to serve us. I have unfortunately lost our receipt with his name on it otherwise I would mention him in this review. Wonderful service from a server who knows what he's doing and seemingly enjoys his job. There were five of us in the party, maybe he will be located in that fashion. Anyway, we ordered beverages for dinner including a bottle of Ca'Nani cabernet that was very delicious. I mentioned that two of us would be sharing a chicken parm dinner and a carbonara dinner. The others ordered either veal or chicken parm. When dinner arrived, the two shared plates had been plated with half of each entree on each plate. Now that's what I call awesome service from someone that paid attention. We all loved, loved, loved our meals. None of us felt pressure to hurry up and get the heck out, as it was past 10:00 when we were finished with our meals. The service remained terrific throughout the evening and the view was spectacular. We will definately be returning to this gem and if I have my way, it will be very, very soon. read more

great view. excellent food. nice patio. definitely worthy of the reviews and worth trying.

My boyfriend and I ate here on New Year's Eve and it was great. The place was packed to the brim but we were seated promptly at our reservation time. We were greeted by our bus boy Aldo who was very polite and attentive. Our server Austin gave great service as well. We had the Antipasto which was absolutely amazing. Everything was so fresh and house made even down to the roasted peppers which clearly did not come out of a jar. I had the Eggplant Parmigiana and my boyfriend had the Bucatini. We both loved our entrees. We also shared the Bananas Foster Pecan Ice Cream Cake which was like heaven on a plate. I expected service to be delayed on such a busy night but our wine and food came out at just the right times. We didn't feel rushed and Austin made us feel as if we were his only table the whole time. Great dining experience. Too bad I couldn't stay awake past 10pm because it seemed like they had a fun New Year's Eve party planned for later that evening. read more

I don't like to write bad reviews, so I save the bad ones for the places that are really bad. My husband and I went to Ventano for date night. Since my husband works 6 days a week and we have 2 small girls, date night is a rare occasion, we were looking to enjoy the neighborhood restaurant that we had never visited. The girl at the door quickly greeted us and was pleasant showing us to our table. We were shown to a table on the balcony. We sat there 20 minutes before even a server or anyone came to our table to bring us water. They said that our server would be right with us and he did come by and dropped off bread and said he would be back to take our order. He seemed rushed as it appeared that there were only two waiters in the place with an almost full restaurant. We could see our waiter through the large windows on the balcony. We watched him greet people as they came into the restaurant with hugs and kisses and taking their order right away. He did that to about two tables, which took another 30 minutes. We sat there for about 50 minutes without putting in a food order, eating stale bread and water. Enough was enough!!! We left and went to Settebello, which had much better service. read more
