Clam Chowder ($18.00)
Chris V.

Best place to celebrate a 49ers victory, am I right? San Francisco Bay Restaurant is an interesting little spot on Russell and Pecos in that vaguely east side-ish / Hendo region of town. Boasting a bar, plenty of seating, and some TVs of questionable reliability, they do have a happy hour that didn't feel interesting enough. My friend and I were focused on some of the regular menu stuff anyway though. It was basically a party for me, so I went for the Cioppino ($39). This is absolutely the bounty of the sea, with plenty of crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams, fish, and bay scallops to fill your belly and time. It's probably better to share this or order it in parallel with someone since the crab legs are very time-intensive to crack and pick through (tools provided). The tomato-based stew is delicious, and the proteins are all cooked nicely. The only note is that they only provide one slice of sourdough, which had great texture and flavor but just doesn't feel portioned right. My friend had the Clam Chowder ($18). It comes in a sourdough bread bowl, which invariably is more than enough bread. At least the bread seemed crispy on the outside and fluffy inside from the piece I tried. The soup was very hearty, although I must have missed the bacon he reported as adding maybe a bit too much salt. I did get a complimentary cold water (clean, very icy) later on, but I started with a Passionfruit Lemonade ($4.00). As with most lemonades, it is pretty sweet, but it does clearly offer the passionfruit flavor which is required when you customize it that way. The service is pretty standard. The decor is roughly halfway between standard office and seaside shack. The music was all some sort of smooth jazz but with a lo-fi beat. It makes me wonder whether they were going for a specific San Francisco Bay Area jazz radio station vibe. The parking could conceivably get packed if they ever fill up, but there were plenty of spaces. I got the feeling that a lot of the customers probably live pretty close by. San Francisco Bay Restaurant is a nice spot for the seafood favorites you'd expect to find. Check them out if that's what you're in the mood for!

The vibe: Nice place to go for casual seafood. Either solo or with a group. They also have a bar. What I ordered: - Salmon and seafood pasta with a glass of wine The drinks: Standard house wine. Nicely chilled. Service: The place was nice and clean, and the service was fast. The food was hot and delicious. The staff was friendly. Price vs. value:Good value and good food! Final thoughts: Will be back again. It's about to be bread bowl season, and I need that clam chowder!

Great experience at SF Bay Restaurant! I have always passed by this place and finally got the chance to stop by for a football game! It wasn't too packed when we stopped in but there is plenty seating for a full house as well as bar seating. Everything came out hot and fresh, my favorite dish would have to be the calamari! It was more meat than breading and was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The shrimp/crab roll was PACKED to the top with protein and was a great bite with the crispy fries. They were out of oysters- which I was a little bummed about, but just gives me another reason to come by again!

We had a great experience at San Francisco Bay Restaurant! The clam chowder in a bread bowl was delicious, and the fried snapper was just as good. Our server, Johnny, provided great service and helped make our dining experience even better. We really enjoyed our food and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal!

Ashley was a good server who refilled waters 2 times on a hot day. Great octopus and ceviche. Only one toilet and a light was out. Good late lunch with leftovers for two came to $61.

Grilled octopus, shrimp ceviche, seven seas fried rice

The food was delicious. Best grilled octopus I've had in Vegas. The restaurant was chill and Johnny was very attentive. Will definitely come back.

First time coming here around 7:15pm this evening The service started off well the staff was very welcoming when we walked in, and the restaurant was clean. A male server took our order without using a notepad or pen. I've had servers do that before, and 99% of the time they've remembered everything without any issues. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer, the Seven Seas Chowder, and the New York strip steak. There was a bit of a wait, even though it was just my husband and me, and the only other table was a family of five who had already been served. After about 20-25 minutes, our food finally arrived but only the chowder and steak. No crab cakes. I asked if we were supposed to get the crab cakes first since they were the appetizer. Our server looked completely shocked and realized he had forgotten to put the order in. He apologized, and we told him it was okay because, at that point, we already had our entrées and weren't about to wait even longer for an appetizer. After that, he came back once to ask if we were good he never came back after.. no refill check.. none As for the food, it was decent. If you're someone who enjoys a good steak, you'll probably understand what I mean. The steak was well seasoned and had good flavor, but it was clearly a lower quality cut. There was a lot of fat, and it was pretty chewy. The seasoning helped make up for it, but only to a certain extent. The Seven Seas Chowder was actually very good. It was flavorful and packed with seafood, so that ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The bill came to a little over $71. I still left a 16% tip because I felt that was fair, although I normally tip 20%. Looking back, I honestly regret even leaving 16% because the service really wasn't it. Would I come back? I'm honestly not sure. If I do, I just hope I don't get the same server! or at the very least, I hope he starts carrying a notepad and pen to make sure orders don't get forgotten.

Food is so delicious and the service is great too! When I walked in, Luis greeted me immediately. The deep-fried snapper is my favorite thing; it reminds me of food that I have when I'm on vacation in another country. It's seasoned to perfection. The side of rice was also good, and the salad was so fresh. Luis was an excellent server. The portion sizes are large. If you want good authentic food, this is the place to go. The prices are affordable. Parking is available right in front.

Yum yum yummmmmy! I have been to this restaurant several times and the food does not disappoint! Every single dish that we've ever ordered has been delish! Good service! Quality food is not fast, but if there is a small wait, it's definitely worth it! Open and comfortable feel in the restaurant. The place seems like it would be great for a family dinner.

We loved the one in New York, so it was a very pleasant surprise. We were just walking the promenade before a show at the sphere and struggling to find an option that wasn't super busy but also not very expensive, so this was perfect for us. The pizza hit just as perfectly as the one in New York. It was cooked with just the right amount of crispiness without burning the top. Served hot and quickly; maybe 10ish mins after ordering. It's still pretty big for 2 to share, so we took a couple slices home; which thank god we did because it was just as good reheating on a pan. It's really cute inside also. Definitely a fancier pizzeria vibe. The staff was attentive and nice. I definitely think this is a great option when you want to park it for a bit away from the busier areas of the promenade.

The dining room is huge, clean and reminiscent of a classic New York Italian joint. We had a 16 inch mushroom and onion pizza and a salad to share. It was enough food for 3 adults and there were only 2 of us, so we took two slices home. Prices were expensive but on par with other places on the Strip and less of a rip-off than nearby competitors in the Canal Shoppes. An excellent choice if you want to stay in the area.

Yes, I could tell you exactly where Secret Pizza is. But that would ruin the fun. Half the charm of…read morethis place is earning your slice, so here's all you get: it's in the Cosmopolitan. Look for an unmarked hallway lined with old record albums. Picture Sinatra-era crooners, a Godfather soundtrack and some Jackie Gleason mood music all staring down at you while you wonder if you're about to get pizza or get recruited into something. Honestly, it isn't that hard to find. Just follow the people eating pizza in a hallway and the line spilling out the door. This is New York-style pizza. I'm a West Coast guy, so I can't confirm it with a New Yorker's authority. What I can confirm is that the crust folds the way it's supposed to: thin in the middle, puffy and blistered at the edge, with a little chew and a crisp underside that holds up to the toppings. You walk up to the counter, look over the glass at a lineup of slices that should be illegal to display to tired people, and choose. Grab a couple of slices or commit to the whole pie. Fair warning: the line moves at its own pace, and a whole pie gets made fresh. If you order by the slice, they take a slice from the display, add whatever toppings you want and put it back in the deck oven to reheat. Either way works. The one rule is to eat it immediately. This pizza is a sprinter, not a marathoner. The pies: * White pizza: This is the specialty, and it earns the reputation. It's a creamy blanket of melted cheese with golden, leopard-spotted bubbles, streaks of herby garlic oil and flecks of green. The crust is burnished and crackly at the edge. It's rich, garlicky and quietly addictive, the kind of slice you swear is your last right before you take another. * Sausage and pepperoni (my personal favorite): Big, glossy pepperoni slices curl at the edges into little cups of seasoned grease, the good kind. Generous hunks of browned, fennel-y sausage sit on top. Every bite is salty, savory and meaty in a way that makes you look at your friends and nod slowly without speaking. * Supreme: This pie is covered edge to edge with pepperoni, sausage, black olives, green peppers, onions and mushrooms. It's the everything bagel of pizza. It's heavy and loud in the best way, and somehow the crust still holds it all together. Seating, sort of... There's no official seating. You might borrow the waiting area for a neighboring restaurant, or stand at outdoor tables (no chairs) that belong to someone else. Again, it's all part of the experience. You're not dining here, you're on a mission. The verdict: Nine of us finished three whole pies at 2 a.m., standing up and laughing, with sauce on our fingers. That's what Vegas is about. If your night doesn't end in a secret hallway with a slice in your hand, did it even happen?

One downside: they get BUSY, and the tables don't always get wiped down as quickly as they should. I also wanted to make the healthier choice with the vegetarian slice, but the toppings looked a little sparse. Still, for quick, affordable, late-night Vegas pizza? Came out fresh from the oven! Along with Fernando, there was another gentleman that also brought some of our food out - the wings and pizza served hot and our salad chilled.
