Located within walking distance of the Hilton Lake Las Vegas, Luna Rossa is a charming Italian restaurant with a beautiful lake view and romantic atmosphere. Our service was impeccable. The staff was very kind, and we were greeted and seated immediately. We were given bread with a delicious pesto sauce to enjoy while we looked over the menus. They offer an impressive menu, and we honestly had a hard time choosing! We ended up with the Tortellacci Ripieni Brasato Di Manzo Al Tartufo Nero--braised short rib wrapped in fresh egg pasta with a creamy Alfredo-style sauce. The pasta is made fresh daily, and my BF could not stop raving after every bite that it was some of the most delicious pasta he's ever had. It really was mouthwatering. We also ordered the chicken Caesar salad and did not expect the portion to be so large! The chicken had a nice char and was a little dry, but overall, paired with the Caesar dressing, the flavors blended really well. The restaurant looks out toward the lake and greenery, with patio seating that would be beautiful during cooler weather. There's also a floating stage nearby with live music on Saturdays, which you can enjoy from the restaurant. Inside, there's a small bar with seating, and the overall atmosphere feels romantic and upscale. We noticed quite a few couples enjoying dinner. We visited in early August, which is definitely the off-season at Lake Las Vegas. MonteLago Village was pretty quiet, and when we arrived around 5:30 p.m., there were only two other couples in the restaurant. Over the course of our dinner, though, almost every table inside filled up. I can only imagine how busy it gets during peak season, so I would recommend reservations in advance. Even during the summer, it may be worth checking ahead if you want an indoor table during prime dinner hours. Wonderful service, fresh pasta, generous portions and a beautiful setting. Luna Rossa Ristorante 15 Via Bel Canto Henderson, NV 89011 (3 Stars) Thankfully, the food was above average because the drive to Lake Las Vegas--and the hike to the restaurant--is absolutely interminable. Whoever designed this promenade was either a rookie architect or exceptionally evil. There is essentially no convenient parking. The available parking is downhill from the restaurants and shops, which means after you've parked, you're rewarded with an uphill hike. From September through May that's merely annoying. At 115 degrees... It's punishment. In fact, I think I've figured out why this place is so empty. When I arrived, I honestly thought I had stumbled into an abandoned ghost town. I was the only person walking anywhere in the entire village. I finally made it to Luna Rossa, desperately needing water. Thankfully, my server Julia was quick on the draw. She had water in front of me almost immediately, and I probably drank half the glass without taking a breath. I ordered the Caesar Salad followed by the Veal Piccata. The Caesar started with a minor disappointment. The croutons tasted like Pepperidge Farm's best, but thankfully the lettuce was crisp, fresh, and the dressing was flavorful enough to pull the salad back into respectable territory. The Veal Piccata looked a little murky when it arrived, but looks can be deceiving. The sauce had excellent flavor, the veal was tender, and overall it was a very enjoyable entrée. I seriously considered ordering a cocktail. Then I remembered I still had to survive the hike back to my car in triple-digit heat. Hydration won. Besides, the female bartender looked very...very...very...miserable. Maybe it was the heat. Maybe it was the ghost town. Maybe that's just her personality. Either way, she wasn't exactly inspiring me to linger over a drink. Big Boy Says... The food is above average. The parking is terrible. The walk is worse. Between the lack of convenient parking, the uphill hike in the Las Vegas heat, and an atmosphere that felt deserted, this simply isn't a restaurant I'd recommend making a special trip to visit. My experience at Luna Rossa was disappointing. My first impression when walking in was not good. There was an unpleasant smell, similar to a dirty restroom or a general lack of cleanliness. The service was basic at best. During our visit, there were only two occupied tables, and the staff consisted of one server and an assistant, so I expected a higher level of attention and service. As for the food, we ordered a pizza and a pasta. Considering the prices, I expected much better quality. Both dishes tasted and felt like processed food rather than something freshly prepared in-house. The food simply did not justify the cost. What bothered me the most was the automatic 20% gratuity added to our bill, even though there were only two people in our party. I understand the importance of tipping and would have left a gratuity anyway, but automatically adding 20% for a table of two felt inappropriate and left a negative impression. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the location in Lake Las Vegas, which is beautiful. Luna Rossa is a lovely dining experience in Lake Las Vegas. The ambience is elegant and quiet, with an old school touch. I adored the large mocktail menu- as someone who has been exploring more non-alcoholic options recently, I was so excited to see an espresso martini option on the menu! It was also delicious which was a huge plus. I would go back just to try more mocktails. The appetizers we had were incredible. Our salad was amazing and the Gnocchetti Fritti were yummy as well. We were not the biggest fans of our main courses: my husband's steak was tough and my Tortellini di Pollo was a bit bland and I really didn't want to eat more than a few bites of it, but I would try more appetizers or perhaps a different pasta dish next time. Service was not the most consistent but I do understand that during the slower season that we came, January, the restaurant may have been shorter staffed. The service here and the great portions of food is why I gave this place 4 stars. Everytime we have entered the restaurant we get hit with that bar back smell temporarily. The service is always excellent. Everyone is super friendly and attentive! The food portions are not skimpy, especially the pastas which is always great. Came here to meet a girlfriend for lunch on a Monday afternoon. They open up at noon and at 12:30. It was extremely quiet. Very elegantly designed inside, the staff was friendly and quick to get the table some water and take our wine order. Great lunch specials on their lunch special menu everything from meatballs, Caesar salad, salmon, pasta's, and several different protein or vegetable dishes to choose from. Where it all began! Here under the lights of Luna Rossa. So many many years ago. We went back, back to the beginning! Have you ever had a "first date!" That one time to make or break it. When my beloved took me here for the first time, little did I ever realize that it would trigger a wave of events that would forever change my life. Here we sit yet again. Across from an individual that I cherish and I still cannot find words for the moment. The butterflies churn but here we sit still. The restaurant is something wonderful. It's a beautiful little nook where you can see one another and be in each other's presence based on the ambiance of the restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing . The staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and even can pronounce the Italian wording of what looks good. Roll the dice and have something new . It's Italian you can never go wrong with it. As we sit and eat it is delicious. The taste of the food literally makes you melt as each bite comes into contact with your tongue. Then after all that you need to have dessert. The taste of what we enjoyed was absolutely amazing. It was chocolate something. As you sit here we have a perfect view of the lake too. We found this restaurant when my boyfriend surprised me with a quick trip to see the lake. It looked closed at first but we wanted some pizza so we stopped in. It seemed to have just open since it was us and one other table pretty much the entire meal. The waiter was attentive in the beginning but we did not get any bread in the beggining of the meal. That was nothing to fuss about since I didn't notice until the pizza had already came out. The food was good, not the best I've ever had but definitely above most. It wasn't until the end of the meal that I felt awkward and wanted to leave. They took our dishes and left us sitting for a while before giving the check. Overall the checkout experience just took a long time considering at that point we were the only table in the restaurant. Overall with atmosphere, food and service into account I thought it was 4/10 the view of the lake gives you the opportunity to people watch which I loved. Boyfriend here/ really nice looking spot but I hated the service & have had better at an IHOP. Our server being on FaceTime while talking to us in his pocket, to the other gentleman getting flustered while getting us the bill. We split a sausage pizza which was $42. This place is amazing! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with shaved truffle and added shrimp, and it was absolutely incredible. The sauce was so creamy and flavorful, and the truffle wasn't just shaved on top, it was mixed right into the pasta, giving every bite a rich, decadent flavor. They brought my friend a tiramisu for her birthday with a candle and even sang happy birthday to her, which made the evening extra special. We sat out on the patio because there was live music playing, and it was the perfect atmosphere. We watched people cruising by in golf carts and walking their dogs. It was lively, fun, and full of energy. All of the servers are Italian, which adds to the authentic charm. Our server was fantastic, super friendly, attentive, and had a great sense of humor. For Mother's Day, my family and I had dinner at Luna Rossa. The food was delicious, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, our overall experience was overshadowed by serious billing issues. After our visit, my credit card was charged multiple times, and I'm still not confident that I ever received an accurate final bill for our dinner. I made several attempts to resolve the matter by phone and email, but despite my efforts, the issue was never properly addressed. In the end, I had to work with my credit card company to dispute nearly $700 in charges. It's disappointing because we genuinely enjoyed the meal itself, but the stress and frustration caused by the billing situation completely took away from what should have been a special family celebration. Family-owned by the Molli family and serving the area since 2010, it has that warm, classic Italian feel without being stuffy. We tried the baked lasagna, gnocchi in creamy tomato sauce, pepperoni pizza, and the salmon salad, and everything was solid. Had a mini staycation in Lake Las Vegas and ate here. Walked in and it had a bad smell of sewer... not the restaurant's fault but very unappetizing. Anyway, the food was delicious. Started with the calamari, thinner pieces, it was just ok. I'm used to thicker pieces. I had the short rib pasta and it was amazing. My daughter had the bolognese and it was great!! Due to our work schedules, this doesn't happen very often, so we decided to enjoy a staycation and spend a night at a hotel in Lake Las Vegas. For dinner, we chose Luna Rossa Italian Restaurant. As I've mentioned before, my husband and I both work in the culinary industry, and we love trying different restaurants whenever we get the chance. This time, it was Luna Rossa's turn. We walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately. I ordered sparkling water, but regular water was brought to the table. As soon as the server realized the mistake, she quickly came back and corrected it. To start, we ordered the calamari and fried gnocchi. Both were very good, but what really caught our attention was the sauce. It was delicious, and we could tell it was made in-house rather than coming from a jar. We also had the Caesar salad. It was a little dry and could have used more dressing, but after I asked for some extra, it was much better. For our entrées, we ordered a pepperoni pizza--my husband's favorite food--and fettuccine Alfredo. The pizza was excellent, and once again, the sauce stood out. The Alfredo was equally impressive. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and who could complain about fresh pasta? Overall, the food was great, and so was the service. Another thing that made the experience special was seeing so many Italians working front of house. It added an authentic touch that made the experience even better. Luna Rossa may be a bit of a drive out to Lake Las Vegas, but if you ever get the chance, it's absolutely worth the trip. Came to Luna couple of nights ago ordered a main course then asked for a sub substitute, waiter tells us they can not do that.. they say we would have to pay extra $14-$18. Which as you know, it's almost the price of a main course.. I asked for management woman walks up rudely saying that that's the way It is no matter who you are. Food mediocre price ridiculous. The eggplant / zucchini salad with goat cheese and balsamic dressing was perfectly crunchy, tangy and refreshing. My mom had ricotta ravioli, she's a retired French chef who is from Italian decent and she loved her dish. The bill was about $100 including tip for both of us with a sparkling water bottle, a salad and 2 main dish which is a great price for a great restaurant. All I can say is OMG! This place was perfect. I stumbled upon it during my birthday stay at Lake LAs Vegas and am so happy I did. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the server and sat down. I ordered a Caesar salad , Manicotti Ricotta E Spinaci, I added chicken and a glass of Cabernet. Everything was immaculate. You can tell the Cesar dressing was homemade, it was so fresh. The pasta was flavorful yet light . I loved every bite of it. But the star of the show was the bread and oil surprisingly LOL the waitress told me before she brought it out that it was amazing. I thought to myself how can bread and oil blow my mind. It did ! They add garlic to their olive oil mix and it really set it apart. There was so much flavor. From now on I will accept nothing less than. I also received a strawberry tiramisu and the waitress sang happy birthday to me along with a glass of complimentary champagne. 100000/10 birthday, service and food! Took some out of town friends here for lunch yesterday. The calamari appetizer was not only skimpy in its portion size but was undercooked and like nothing we had seen before. Bad. We are locals and we have had enough of this place. The prices are ridiculous and frankly, you have lost your allure. For example...ordering water. They try to be all fancy and make you order water like you're in Europe. Just bring us ice waters, please. Also, there were only three of us, on a work trip.
