Usually don't come to this location but tonight was a different because I was meeting a friend for dinner. Met up with him at 9:32 when they say they close at 11:00 p.m. on Google. Walked in and the host/server says they had already closed and shut down the kitchen at 9:30 and made last call. If you don't close until 10:00pm as stated by the kitchen should not close until 10:00. Very disappointing after planning dinner here and we won't be coming to this location again or be bringing any of our softball teams to this location. We'll go to the one to the south on SR50 where we haven't had any issues with staff or closing times. read more

We've been going here for years as we live across the street so, convenient neighborhood bar/restaurant. The new physical makeover made sense for the community and is fresh and more modern, but they lost the low-key vibe in the bar area. Too bright? Too open? The food is really hit or miss and seems to depend on who's cooking. Chicken caesar salad shown here for take-out: shaken parmesan on lettuce and a piece of just OK chicken. Honey mustard dressing given instead of caesar. Yuk. (Husband had another salad with honey mustard dressing. On the phone he was precise while ordering.) This brings me to the staff: If they don't focus, they won't get the order right as this kind of thing has happened before. We went to Velocity Wings for our first time last Saturday. We loved everything about it. Our waiter Randy was amazing and so nice. The menu had a lot of yummy choices. Our meal was so good. By far the most amazing grilled wings I've ever tasted!! We tried the spicy blue cheese and the pineapple habanero. All sauces and dressings are made in house and are incredibly flavorful. The wings were hearty and were a good size. We tried the street corn appetizer and it was somewhat bland but honestly, after the wings, i didn't even care. Equally as impressive as the wings, was the customer service. The staff at Potomac Falls were efficient and most of all friendly. It was nice to find a place where we didn't had to compromise taste for good service or vice versa. Atmosphere was great. Very clean and sleek for a sports bar . Drinks were fantastic and came out quick for a busy Saturday night. The only inconvenience was the women's restroom. There are 2 individual restrooms located in front of a service door and drink station. Because it was busy, as the line formed, I felt like I was in the way of he constant swinging of the door as the servers entered and exited often. I also noticed, and I'm sure this person was a "regular", there was only one men's room so because it was occupied, said male customer thought it was acceptable to visit the woman's side This is definitely my new go to wings place. Ordered 10 wings and steak and cheese egg rolls. What a ripoff. The "steak and cheese" egg rolls were hamburger in egg roll form and the cheese was a tiny thimble of nacho cheese sauce to dip them. The egg rolls were burned and the hamburger was dry inside. Awful. That's not how they were described. Ordered 10 wings as well. Mild and BBQ. Wings came plain and not tossed in sauce. Instead I again had two tiny thimbles of sauce that barely covered two wings. I didn't order take out wings to toss them myself. I also ordered blue cheese and got another tiny thimble of ranch. $40 plus tip for basically microwaved food where I had to do the work. Second time I've tried them and I won't be trying them again. There are better wing places who actually want customers to frequent them. Take your business to another wing place and pass up velocity wings. They spam the review site with positive reviews to get the number up. Do not believe that. The food is a step above dog food. The good reviews are a lie. read more

I met a friend here for lunch yesterday, and I've walked and driven past this place many, many times. So when she suggested coming here I was like sure I'm game to try something new. This place didn't disappoint. They have menu specials Monday-Thursday. I really wasn't expecting much but this place exceeded my expectations. My friend told me the wings were good with a choice of various sauces, and the burgers and wraps were good based on her previous visits here. I ended up getting the queso burger, and it was delish! Cooked perfectly to order, and it comes with a side of shoestring fries, which are the deliciously crispy skinny fries that I love and just the perfect amount of salt on them. My friend did tell me during evenings and weekends this place can get busy given it is a sports bar, complete with a TV at each booth. I was really pleasantly surprised by this place so much so when my husband came home from work I told him we need to go back and eat there. Certainly worth checking out. Very disappointed. We had a team party here the other day. Velocity Wings was told 16 days in advance. They only had ONE server taking care of our group of 30 adults/kids. I asked for a steak and cheese in a toasted wrap with jalapenos-- tomatoes and lettuce on the side. Everyone else at my table AND our whole group got their food. When I asked about my order, I was told that it would come out when it was ready. I think they forgot my order-- I had to wait an extra 8 minutes for mine. When I got the wrap, it wasn't toasted and the lettuce and tomato were not on the side, though it was tasty, but I was also SUPER hungry. Everyone at my table had something missing from their order, but they ate it anyway. We won't be coming here again for a group party. read more

I ordered seven orders of wings to go for a Super Bowl party at a friends house. I put the order in Friday night with a scheduled 4pm pick up on Sunday. The order was ready right on time, and what a hit at the party- the wings were fantastic! The wings have been getting smaller at a lot of the local places in Ashburn, not at this place.  The wings were large, meaty and perfectly prepared. Velocity Wings is a great improvement from Velocity 5 it is much more family friendly now and has an extremely nice design as well. The service is very good and the food is amazing no matter what you get, their burgers are extremely delicious and and their wings are even better! Every time I've went the manager has walked by and asked if everything was good, which in my opinion is great service. Went here on a lunch break with a group of guy's, hoping to get quick wings and beer. Kelly the waitress was pretty overwhelmed with everything and called the manager over. Manger (big Korean guy) comes out very threatening and hostile wanting to check all of our IDs and questioning why we are out of state. We have been coming here every 2-3 weeks for the last few years. We've always enjoyed the outstanding staff and great food. Although they newly re-designed the place, and it's beautiful, the new staff needs major improvement! This week we had a waiter that had the personality of a door! Every time we tried to ask him something, he would look at us, hold up his finger, say "wait a minute" and then turn his back on us. It was rude. We noticed that they now offer cards to order your wings on. So, I put our normal wing order (4 different flavors (for a total of 30 wings), some boneless and some bone-in) on the card. When the waiter looked at it, he told us that he was confused and simply couldn't put in the order. I tried to explain it to him, but he just told me that he couldn't put the order into the computer. We all sat there totally confused by his stupidity. He then told us that we couldn't order just 5 wings, it had to be in orders of 10. The menu clearly shows that you can order wings in 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. The menu also clearly has posted that you can make it a "Combo" by adding 5 wings! He then went and got a Manager to take our order. The Manager said the same thing. We then told him that we had been ordering this exact same order every 2-3 weeks for the last few years! He just looked at us and said "things have changed." When he walked away, we all decided that this would be out last trip to Velocity Wings! Wings come in a big bag, the cook can take out as many as he wants. If a customer wants an order of 30 wings with 5 of the wings a different flavor, give it to them!!! A friend and I had lunch this past Friday, 8/9/2019. The last time I had been to this restaurant was before it changed its name. I liked the place better before. Service was ok. The server was nice but she seemed very young and it was clear that she'd had little or no training. The hostess was wearing super short cut offs and was yelling to another staff person across the restaurant. She was nice but very unprofessional. The food was awful. We ate some of the pretzels because we were hungry. The boneless wings were so dry even the ranch dressing couldn't save them. The smothered tots were gross. I asked for shredded cheese rather than cheese sauce. It came drenched in sauce. The server was nice and took them back to the kitchen right away. The kitchen simply put the old tots on a new plate and melted cheese over the cheese sauce (the sauce was gross). Plus the pork belly that was supposed to be on the tots seemed to just be a light scattering of regular chopped bacon. The only good thing was the grapefruit Hefeweizen that was on tap. read more
