Glasses I am beyond thrilled with the custom glasses Woods…read moreOptical made for me! I have astigmatism and needed a special pair of polarized glasses for fishing, since my regular glasses just don't allow me to see past the glare on the water. My normal lenses (made somewhere else before I knew about Woods Optical) are a progressive design which work ok for my daily needs but are far from ideal. They have very little peripheral view without blur, so I always have to turn my head to look at anything. Since they have three different prescriptions in them I also have to look down to see close or look up to see far without moving my head. I needed something for bass fishing with a wider field of view that would allow me to quickly glance around in the water to better spot fish or underwater structure to target. I was referred to Woods Optical by a mutual friend and quite frankly I'm amazed at the results! I'm not sure how he did it, but Dana was able to make a pair of glasses that let me see up close enough to tie my fishing knots, but also see far enough to spot birds and breaking fish, but here's the real kicker--I also have peripheral vision as if I'm not wearing glasses! He started to explain the special machine he has access to that can make advanced lenses other shops and optometrists cannot, but frankly it was too technical and these amazing glasses speak for themselves! Suffice it to say, Woods Optical can do things for you other places simply cannot, and you won't understand what you were missing until you have them make a pair for you. As far as how well these custom fishing glasses are working, I'm having one of the best bass fishing seasons of my life, and a good part of that is due to being able to see in ways I never could before. I wanted to give a big thank you to Woods Optical as I simply couldn't be happier!

I didn't even have the product in hand, yet I was told there was nothing that could be done. This was nearly a $500 purchase for a 12-year-old's glasses, which is a significant amount of money. What bothered me most was the lack of practical guidance. As a parent who was unfamiliar with the process, I relied on the staff to make recommendations that were appropriate for my child. Instead, I was recommended a $260 frame for a 12-year-old. I would expect an optical professional to consider the child's age, lifestyle, and the likelihood of glasses being lost or damaged when making recommendations--not simply present expensive options without meaningful guidance. I left feeling that my lack of knowledge about the process was taken advantage of rather than feeling that I had been properly advised as a customer. I understand that policies exist, but customer service should also include common sense and consideration of the circumstances. I would have expected more transparency, better recommendations, and some willingness to work with a customer who raised the issue almost immediately after placing the order. Wow, this review is long overdue…read more After moving back from Las Vegas many years ago, our family searched for and tried several other Eye Docs in our local area. Sadly, none of them were what are family was looking for in this type of provider. After searching again, we found Dr. Jury's practice! We have been patients of Optometric Vision Experience for maybe 9 years now: we could not be happier with Dr. Jury and his entire staff, from the front counter to frame searching, frame fittings and drop-in frame adjustments. His office and staff are always very accomodating for scheduling our family's annual eye exams and any appointments we may neeed for any type of eye/vision concern.
