Caribbean Vegan Paradise. Juice bar and Frozen Food section as well as Vegetarian products like veggie burgers, organic pastas. Super nice helpful staff and lots of street parking available. What calls me here is the excellent hot food takeout available with a changing variety of dishes, Ital stew, Eggplant melange, Pepper "steak", to name a few. Small, Medium and Large portions up to $11 in cost. Vegan desserts too!

So I've been following a path to a new diet which led me to a vegan diet. After two months of cooking my own meals and buying stuff in the store, I needed to start venturing out and finding places that is close to my house to cook meals that are vegan friendly. I found a place close to my job via a friend who has been doing vegan diet for about five years now this place is amazing. To be honest with you I'm not accustomed to Caribbean or Jamaican Food but I was able to ask the server behind the counter which was what, as far as the hot food that was for lunch behind the glass. To my knowledge I had some curry pumpkin ,vegan ribs, rice and cabbage it was excellent the cabbage was a little hard but everything else was spot on. The vegan vegetable patty was amazing definitely going back there today.

Vegan whole grain porridge!!! Love that you can choose between sweet or unsweetened and even half and half

Block of breaded/fried tofu $2.25 Vegan Veggie Fritter Patty $1.10 Small Vegan Whole Grain Porridge $3.75 WHAT?!!! When do vegans EVER find prices this affordable!m?!! This place is a gem! They are very patient, efficient and kind! The porridge was tasty. I was able to choose between sweetened , unsweetened and "half and half". The small is filling! The block of breaded/fried tofu is perfectly seasoned. I ate it PLAIN and was blown away by how flavorful it was without any sauce or other additives!!! The fritter was a nice light, spicy kick. Not greasy or oily and very tasty too! A light crunch and little chewiness. Perfect balance! I am sitting here satisfied and delighted! The place was packed at 10:30am so I will take a leap and guess that if you get there in the later afternoon you may miss out! It seems they also change up their menu daily. Can't wait to eat here again!

I really like this place - it's one of the few places that actually carries ackee patties. I LOVE ackee but usually I only find it on menus, coupled with saltfish. Ackee is quite expensive (I've seen 14oz cans of it go for $7 or $8!) so I think that is what deters restaurants from serving it and customers from buying it. The ackee patties here run $3.50, which is significantly more expensive than the $2 callaloo, peas, tofu, or other patties, but I think they are worth it. I also had some food from the hot bar last time and it was pretty similar to the hot bars in all the Bronx Jamaican places - curried tofu, lots of faux meats, white pasta (similar to Chinese lo mein), and rice. I went with the BBQ tofu, which was good, the potato salad, which was also really good (so glad they have a vegan, mayo-based salad), and the eggplant, which was okay. The store is pretty well stocked with all sorts of canned, packaged, and frozen foods, plus lots of teas, protein powers, and vitamins. Like most small health food stores, the prices are a little high but it's the only option in the area so I am very glad they are here and offer so many items. NOTE: There is no dining area. You can only get your food to go.

Curry seitan W/ stew lentils Brown rice and peas potato salad and dasheen
Bell Air B.

I was in Colorado for a while and got exposed to vegan food so when I came back to The Bronx I was in search for vegan spot to raid and to my surprise I found one not too far from my house the food was amazing I got the Curry seitan W/ stew lentils Brown rice and peas potato salad and dasheen also with a soy patty The second I bit into the Patty I knew I should've gotten more food The service is what you expect from older West Indians kind a snobby and rude but that's how you know the food is great all around

This place is charming and totally unexpected in this neighborhood. Came in to kill some time before work one day and munched on their ackee patty and ordered a kale patty for later. They were really delicious and light yet filling. Most people come here for takeout but they have a small counter seating section by the window with an accessible outlet for charging devices and what not.

Patties have no flavor. Close whenever they feel like it, prices are over the top for basic things you can buy at Trader Joe's

I had the torched fig and feta salad, which is an unusual choice for me but it just looked so good! It lived up to the expectation -- a delicious, perfectly dressed salad and who doesn't love a fig? The house-made raviolis were just great and perfectly filled with savory vegan sausage. (I know it's assumed that everything here is vegan but I can't help but clarify. ) For desert, I had the panna cotta and my bf had the chocolate hazelnut dome. Both were so great and the staff sang happy birthday to me *in harmony*. Overall, an exquisite experience at a place that is now my go to for special occasions. Damn. Don't sleep on this place!

We are veg/vegan and were really looking forward to coming to abcV for dinner having heard so much about it. SERVICE - located in Chelsea…read more - spacious interior with tables for groups of 2-4 people - reservations are not required though could be helpful if you do not want to risk waiting - great service! our waiter provided us with comprehensive descriptions of the dishes and drinks - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi formal meal MENU - french American bistro food - all vegan/vegetarian - slightly pricey FOOD - French dip (7/10): vegan grilled steak with provolone cheese, goat cheese, caramelized onion, and horseradish aioli on a toasted baguette served with a side of au jus dip and fries. This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.
