One word. Cigarettes. The foods good don't get me wrong. Although I cannot stand the stench of disgusting cigarettes, especially when it's inside of a restaurant where people and children come to sit down and eat. My only complaint about the entire menu is that it seems like more than half the menu is just frozen vegan meals from the food store just reheated and sprinkled with seaseme seeds and called homemade. Also paid for Avacado on a wrap to go, was charged 1$ extra for it. No Avacado on the wrap to be found. Oh well. read more

So I've tried their crispy rolls, scallion pancake, pot stickers and wonton soup. Two thumbs up from this vegan girl! Seriously tasty. I go there on my lunch break and never make it back to work with all of my food lol. Half of it gets eaten during the car ride. So excited to have a great vegan restaurant so close to my job. We are visiting family and we're excited to try a local vegan place for lunch. Unfortunately when my daughter and I went in today we were not greeted by anyone and there was no one to be seen after waiting a few minutes. We may have waited a bit longer but the restaurant also smelled strongly of cigarettes so we chose to leave. Disappointing. read more

We used to enjoy The Loving Hut and were very disappointed they closed. Thankfully The Vegan Tree is here. We love the veggie wraps and the Philadelphia cheesesteak and the Mushroom Philadelphia cheesesteak. The sweet potato fries are great too. Looking forward to trying more options in the near future! We get take out and have not had any issues with the service being slow like I've seen in previous reviews. I guess they got that under control after being open awhile now. read more

This restaurant was recommended by a neighbor and just got to eat there. The food was wonderful! It was different, tasty and felt good after eating a full meal. The Cesar salad is terrific. The vegan philly cheese steak, while it doesn't taste exactly like its namesake, is great. The prices are very reasonable. read more

I had previously given this establishment one star, this restaurant was owned by someone else and when it changed hands they took off favorite items off the menu and changed the ingredients. The wait time for a meal was long, and I felt like the place wasn't as tidy as it used to be. Well I have to say that after listening to customers complaints they are back to their former glory! They re did their menu and returned the fan favorite dishes, changed ingredients back and became more efficient. Absolutely must go! I'm very impressed and I hope they continue on this path. A bit of a hit or miss restaurant. Some food has been tasty (like the sriracha burger). Other items have not (like the hot pot). I appreciate the menu variety and the fact that it's so close but it just doesn't hold-up to some of the other competitors further aw. I am not a vegan. I often come here because the food is delicious. However, the employees are very careless. Every time I place an online order they manage to mess up the sandwiches every time. It's a clearly written format of what I want and do not want and they still ALWAYS mess something up. My friend has a tomato and onion allergy and each time they put both ingredients on her sandwich. I do not like mayo and they always put mayo on mine and we have to end up switching. I feel like if I am paying $10 for a sandwich and like, 4 french fries, the least they can do is make it correctly. I know veganism isn't popular and neither is this restaurant, so I always return to give them my business. But, I am starting to get annoyed with my orders being wrong every. single. time. I really enjoy the food, so I will give them another chance. I just feel like it's not hard to make a chik'n sandwich.. read more

Whatever you do, do not order the cheese steak. They didn't have anything in it really, Idk if the chef was having a rough day or something. The hotpot was very filling but not spicy enough for me. I'd have to say vegan tree is my favorite vegan restaurant. I've ordered a good amount of different meals and I've never been disappointed. All of their sauces i.e.; cheese, mayo, ketchup are all homemade. Prices are in my opinion very fair compared to other vegan places in the surrounding areas. Even if you aren't vegan, you can enjoy the delicious food they have to offer. read more

The first time I came here, they had like half the things on the menu. Waiter was like, "only food we have is this, this, & that". Ended up getting fries and a decent wrap. Food came out in a different order and took forever. Honestly HORRENDOUS service. Drove 45mins to get here a second time to give them a second chance & sure enough, I go to order golden nuggets & waiter goes "we don't have any of that today, only apps we have are onion rings, fries, & fish" so for the second time, they had 3 out of the 7 options on their apps list, and only a few of the options were available on the rest of the menu. Extremely disapointed & will not be coming here again. Normally I honestly really do support local businesses who spread a positive message, but this is ridiculous and I felt it was my responsibility to advise others not to waste their time, especially if it's a bit of a drive. There's honestly a plethora of other great vegan restaurants who actually know how run a business with good, ATTENTIVE servers. (Only ones in the restaurant right now and the waiter disappeared, happened last time too. Ridiculous) DO NOT COME HERE period. read more

Had an early dinner with the huz and we had a great quick meal. I had the wonton and it was huge and delicious. My husband raved about his soup and rice dish. Simple but well executed. Also the desserts were excellent! We went here a couple of years ago when it was the loving hut and were not as enthusiastic about our meal. Service was excellent with our waters constantly refilled. I really suggest trying this place again if you did not have a great experience in the past! read more

My experience at the Vegan Tree was one of the best experiences eating at a vegan restaurant. I am so glad I followed the good advice from the reviews I read. I had the happy buddha with the purple rice, broccoli and seitan. The entire meal was filling and delicious. My husband had the sirachi chicken sandwich and fries and my daughter had the Philly cheesesteak and fries. I tasted my daughters Philly cheesesteak and I can tell you it is so much better than the Philly cheesesteak I tasted at hip city veg in philly. Even the bread on the steak sandwich is better. We ordered our food to go and the wait was about 10-15 mins top. Based on the reviews I ordered the wonton soup but was too full to eat it. The soup will be enjoyed tomorrow. We also ordered the brownie topped with a creamy peanut butter for desert. All I can say is the food was sooooo good and filling and I can't wait for a return trip to this city to enjoy this food again. read more

I loved the fried rice at the Loving Hut. Not only was it delicious but I easily had enough for a second meal. I thought I would give the Vegan Tree a chance and ordered the dish the waitress said was cloest to the Loving Hut's fried rice. I was very surprised when she sat the most bizarre looking plate of purple mush and saffron yellow mush in front of me. I am not even sure if it was rice but only the purple mush was the least bit edible. I choked down a few bites, paid my bill and left. I will never set foot in this place again and predict they won't be around for long. read more

The first time I came here after the new owners- it was absolutely horrible. Greasy and inedible. Also all of the nuggets/patties on the menu are GARDEIN!!! I gave it another shot and ordered a rice dish. It was much better. The first time I ordered chicken tenders. They were the gardein ones. So this time I ordered the nuggets- same exact gardein tenders. Identical. It makes no sense. Why have two identical items on your menu with two different names? The food was edible and more tasty this time. But my friends burger was also a gardein patty. Very frustrating. With a few more small changes this place could be enjoyable and feel like way less of a rip off. read more

I had the "Philly Mushroom Cheese Steak" sandwich. Way too much salt & served on a soft white roll. Sandwich was soggy & mushy when served. The guy was nice & substituted a small green salad instead of the fries at no extra charge however it too was extremely salty--they served the salad drowning in some (ultra-salty) mustard dressing.
