The name is simple and the food is fresh & delicious. Some interesting salads: one with so many cashews that they cannot possibly be making any money on it! My favorite entree is the Green creamy Curry with Tofu and the freshest veggies ever. The vegetable soup has a very flavorful, but not overdone broth. I always love their delicious vegan blueberry & strawberry custard cups, complete with a crumble topping. I am always full when I leave here as the portions are generous. The place is small & very cozy. The owner & his wife are very friendly, inviting and quietly attentive. Super attentive actually. I am a klutz and spilled my drink. The owner was there in 2 seconds helping me clean up (and replacing my now drenched plate.

Milk Tea And Cashew Nut Combo

Had some good stuff recently at this all vegan restaurant specializing in Thai and other Asian food. It looks like it may have been some dumpy Chinese restaurant at some other time, for sure it doesn't look like a hipster hangout. Vegan Plate has a pretty big menu for a small place like this. Get drinks such as smoothies and boba tea, all non dairy. The food has noodle and rice based entrees. A good thing is tofu isn't the only meat substitute, so it gives a chance to get something else plant based. It has pretend beef, chicken, and even fish. These are mostly based of soy, but these don't have the softness of tofu. Also there's non dairy drinks. It's about $4 for Milk Tea. This comes with boba for a little extra, and they put a lot of boba in this. It was boba in every sip pretty much. We liked this, but the food was the main thing. It's about $16 for the All Day Combo. This is a good way to get a few things. It comes with brown rice, house salad, and spring rolls. Then you choose the combo and protein to go with this. I got the Cashew Nut with the soy chicken. The soy chicken seemed like extra dried tofu that was then marinated in a sauce. Had a pretty light spiciness to it. There was a good a duet of vegetables including carrots and mushrooms. Good enough we have to try it some time again. It has a lot on the menu for a small place. This is on Fullerton near Ashland located close to a few other vegan places, but if you like Thai, you should try here though.

4.5 stars: One of the few completely vegan Thai spots in Chicago, and it was pretty solid! I came on a weekday for lunch and it was completely empty. It's a medium-sized space cutely decorated with holiday-themed, festive decor. The service was very quick and friendly. I ordered the Spicy Eggplant with Soy Beef which I really enjoyed! The staff noted that soy chicken and beef tend to be the most popular proteins ordered, and especially recommended the soy beef. The soy beef was tender and flavorful. The eggplant and veggies were also cooked very well: the eggplant was soft and tender and the veggies were crisp and fresh. I ordered it medium spicy and it definitely packed a bit of spice in there, but wasn't too spicy overall. It also came with purple rice, which was a little hard but good when mixed in with the flavorful entree sauce. Before the entree came out, they also served a small cup of miso soup, but it was a little cold. The dessert selection on the menu looked really good and creative, but unfortunately they only had one of the 5 options available on that day, so we didn't choose to get it. The prices were also okay-- not that expensive but also not that inexpensive (~$16 per entree).

The service was quick and the food was great! It was a super cute restaurant. the Thai iced tea was flavorful and the two tofu appetizers I had were very flavorful.

Pad Kee Mao

I walked in here for lunch as a solo diner during my work break and during the week (a Wednesday) and the place was dead. They had a few take out orders though. I told the girl who greeted me that I wanted to dine in and it seemed like she had to check with the other staff in the kitchen if that would be ok; I found that to be a bit interesting. Either way, sat down, ordered a Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) plate with vegan beef, and it came out in a timely matter. I believe I got a combo cause it came with a side salad and some vegan rolls. I'd say considering it wasn't real meat, the place was pretty tasty. I didn't absolutely love the way the noodles were cooked. They were slightly tasteless, but not the worst ever. I'd say I would come back to try their other things, but this is absolutely a great option if you're craving Thai food but don't want to consume meat nor rely on tofu or veggie options only.

Shumai, one of my favorite specials they have.

I have been coming to this place for years and I've never had a bad experience; I have familiarized myself with the owner and she is precious, makes customers feel so welcomed. The server Kai is also a sweetheart, I love the staff dearly. The food is amazing, the vegetable drunken noodle is my go to. They have many specials that I thought I could never eat again: crab Rangoon, shumai. The chicken satay has a great texture and is one of my favorite appetizers. I always order extra cucumber salad because the small portion served alongside is never enough. I go to other restaurants and try their cucumber salad, it's never as good. They always ask for spice level which is something I know many would appreciate. The Thai tea is always a must have which is great; I never found vegan Thai tea elsewhere, but they have it here! I love going here because it truly feels like my money is appreciated and it has become like a second home to me. If you ever wanna give it a try, I may just be sitting at the table next to you. We love Vegan Plate, always and forever. Best vegan Asian food Chicago has to offer.

Papaya Salad

Absolutely wonderful all-vegan Thai food, with a high authenticity factor. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday around 12:30pm, and the place was empty. They have a large menu of Thai specialty items, plus some non-Thai dishes. You can customize the spiciness level to your liking, as well as adding your protein of choice (tofu, soy chicken, soy beef, soy fish, seitan, or just veggies; or pay extra for soy shrimp, soy pepper steak, or soy chicken nuggets). We ordered: -Papaya Salad (spicy; $12.50 plus tax). Wonderfully done, with a quite sweet sauce, but balanced well with acidity and lots of spiciness. The papaya was very crunchy, and was complemented by cherry tomatoes and crunchy green beans, on a bed of lettuce. Very spicy but wonderful way to start the meal. 5/5 -Red Curry with Soy Chicken (extra spicy; $15.50 plus tax). Rich red curry with great depth, cooked with a nice soy chicken, eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and basil, accompanied by brown rice. Top-notch curry. 5/5 -Pad See-ew with Tofu (spicy; $15.50 plus tax). This came with perfectly cooked very wide rice noodles, as it should, with tofu and broccoli. The sauce seemed like a black peppery soy sauce that was very satisfying. Excellent. 5/5 Friendly and fast service, no frills environment. Decent value for money. Most highly recommended.

I got the garlic pepper with tofu combo. The sauce was good and I enjoyed all the flavors. The iced Thai tea is delicious and refreshing! The service was good too. It is small inside but comfortable.

Sweet Chili Gyoza

a really cozy small spot right on fullerton and clybourn, and the food was so good!!! it reminded me of Urban Vegan, another fav vegan place in the city, but Vegan Plate is a lot more accessible to me so i will be back more often! The sweet chilli gyoza was amazing, a perfect balance of sweet and spicy in the sauce. i also had the drunken noodle with tofu, which was the perfect amount of spice and the tofu + veggies were refreshing amidst that. the flavor was not lacking, there was plenty of flavor to back up the spiciness as well. service was pretty standard, i appreciate their attentiveness!

VEGAN SUSHI IN CHICAGO!! they just released their summer sushi menu and it was by far the best vegan sushi I've ever had! rockstar, spicy summer, crunchy roll were phenomenal!

One comes to Chicago for the pizza, usually, but when my target restaurant was packed, I was glad I had a backup nearby in my bookmarks, namely this vegan Thai restaurant, which was not packed, but should be. Ordering my dumplings with green curry was excessive, but I really like green curry and I rarely get the chance where I'm sure it doesn't have something in it I don't want to eat. My drunken noodles I ordered with tofu, which seems kind of basic, but I felt like their numerous meat substitutes were just going to be more processed and less healthy. I also ordered them extra spicy. Someone popped out of the kitchen after a bit, ostensibly to grab a drink from the fridge out there, but I got a vibe like they were checking to see if they had killed me. Don't get me wrong, I like the spice. Even a ghost pepper now and then. But these noodles delivered a persistent, furious heat, for which I had to drink a couple of bottled waters (which thankfully they did not charge for). They eventually brought me some sort of coconut bar which I did not ask for to cool me down, I think out of pity. It was nice. They had also brought a little extra serving of chili sauce on the side, which I did not finish, which is out of character for me. Anyway, it was delicious, but I would recommend that the average person should order with caution.

This warm ambiance small business deserves all the love, patience, and good reviews! The food is always fresh and tastes so so yummy. I recommend everything because the service is awesome, but Kai is very good at suggesting items when you tell her what type of food you're in the mood for! It's near DePauls Lincoln Park campus and not far from the Webster movie theater. I cannot recommend enough!

There are window views from the restaurant, making for good people watching. Mainly metered parking available Medium to large sized place with dedicated sections for thai food (about 8 tables and 2 rows of bar style seats) vs for sushi and ramen but all under the same place/owner, can order from any menu - the decor on that side is super cute, fish cutouts, anime/manga decorated walls, decked out bars Got the scuba diving chicken from the chefs faves and must say it was pretty good - a bit on the greasier side but the aroma of the herbs and the spices from the curry really pull through, chicken is cooked very well, super tender and juicy. I got the "No turning back" spice level and theres a hefty kick - halfway into the dish my mouth def feels it but nothing too extreme (FYI theres a slight mala-like numbingness to it) The traditional papaya salad was crunchy and refreshing, sauce is tangy but not too overwhelming. The peanuts add a nice nutty element to it. There were hardly any dried shrimp, so wouldve like to see a bit more of that. Be sure to give it a good mix as the sauce and topping fall to bottom of the bowl To top it off, the service was great. Albert was really attentive and helpful - would come back if im in the gold coast area again to try the other menu offerings

Seating was a little tight like at Phodega, but not terrible. To view menu, you scan a QR code at the table. My husband & I ordered the following: - Grilled Squid This was really good! I thought it was going to come out like little calamari rings, but it was actually a decently sized whole squid, sliced with the tentacles on the side. It was cooked perfectly as it was not chewy or rubbery. The flavor was great, especially with the paired Thai-spicy seafood sauce. - Crab Meat Fried Rice Loved that this was with real crab! & not the imitation crab. There were bits of crab meat throughout the rice and then topped with a big lump of crab meat. It came served with a lime & yummy fish sauce with fresh Thai chili's. - Bamee Noodles with BBQ Pork without broth This bowl of egg noodles had a slightly sweet flavor to it, served with a fox amount of BBQ Pork which was also nice & tender! Slurped it all up! - Jina's Fried Chicken This was good, but not anything like out of this world. It was fried chicken leg quarter, served with black sticky rice. - Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango LOVED this! It was a great way to end our meal! I loved that it came with extra sweet sauce! - Taro Tapioca in Coconut Milk Cream This was great too! It was actually a warm dessert. The menu described it as "Tapioca pearls" so I was expecting the tiny little clear boba balls, but it was cubes of like glutinous rice. Which was not bad! I liked it a lot; it reminded me of Ginataang Bilo Bilo (#iykyk if you're Filipino)! Overall, a delicious experience! We would eat here again!
