I have to give the grand 5 stars just based on the managers and how they have helped me out many times. Once I was out of town, and my roommate was taking care of my cat. She had an emergency, so one of the managers helped to look after my cat until I returned. I've also had important mail sent to a wrong apartment number, and my manager helped retrieve it for me quickly. These things mean a lot for management. There are a few drawbacks that I hope management will see when reading this. My rent recently increased in February of this year by $200 a month which is a HUGE increase. Since then, they are renovating the property. So I am paying $200 extra a month to have no pool access (it is shut down since April of this year- which is horrible timing to close a pool), no gym access (the gym has been closed around the same time because they are moving the location), and they are re-doing water pipelines in my parking garage. The new pipes they built are taking up space in my parking spot so my roommate and I have to park our cars sideways. Also, the pipes run very low in the area we walk through to get inside the building. Once my friend didn't see the pipe and she walked right into it, hitting her head really hard. It's just a huge safety issue. So in conclusion, the managers are really helpful and will go out of their way when you need them, which has been amazing. And the location is great. But paying $200 extra a month and having to park sideways and duck under a pipe thanks to the new pipeline totally sucks. Plus, paying that huge increase in rent just to have no gym and no pool during the summer totally sucks. read more

Quick update. Everything is still awful there and I still have not received my deposit or even a notice about it since moving last August. The few times I've reached out I've been told that they don't know. Avoid this place at all costs, they will overcharge your, they will not help you, and your "luxury" apartment will be worse than section 8 housing. read more

I live in this apartment for almost a year. And this is a terrible apartment, I mean the managers of this apartment.A tap broke in my apartment and I could not take a shower for 5 days, because the building manager simply did not send a master to me. Explaining this by the fact that they have many other prioritized cases. At the moment in my apartment there are bed bugs or other insects that bite me at night. I can not sleep for 2 weeks, because my whole body itches and hurts. I told the manager about it and showed photos of my bites. The manager said that on Tuesday will come pest control. I waited for this moment a week, slept badly because of insect bites, took a day off at work, but no one came to me on Tuesday. The building manager could not explain why. Probably he just forgot to call disinsectors.I can not tell how these managers do not care about the tenants !!! It's horrible!!!It should not be! In addition to these problems in the house, many other problems are broken elevators, frequent plumbing failures and doors that do not close. But the attitude of managers is a huge problem. They just don't want to do anything. read more

No large apartment complex has perfect management, but I can say they try very hard here and have impressed me thoroughly. I have lived in previous IMMACULATE buildings with 300 units and they are incompetent, have no sense of urgency or pride in their work/job. At VEDA, I feel comfortable knowing the staff will be vigilant in attending to issues that I bring forth. Specifically ALVARO of the maintenance staff and Hasti of the leasing staff as well as the leasing manager, Ed, have all gone to great lengths to make sure issues are rectified in a very timely manner. read more

I will start off by saying I have Never left a negative review for anyone (and have taken pride in that), but the management at Veda and Greystar have unfortunately left me no choice. I feel like I owe it to the broader resident community and potential future renters to warn others just like I wish someone could have potentially warned me. DO NOT come to Veda if you value your sleep in your life and require peace and quiet at night. This building unfortunately has a rampant fire alarm problem that seems to only get worse and worse. I've also spoken to other residents who have been here longer than me, this has always been an issue. Randomly (and at all hours of the day and night) the fire alarm system will loudly turn on and wake up all residents from their sleep and then force us to wait outside as we wait for the fire department to repetitively come back and then shut the system down. Also since this is a pet friendly apartment complex my poor dog will wail when the alarms go off (because it's so loud- it also hurts my ears) forcing me to wait outside in the middle of the night, cold waiting for it to turn off. Just recently, on the night of Sunday May 22nd, this alarm went off 4 TIMES between the hours of 10pm and 2am. The last time was so disruptive and long, that my fiancé and I actually had to book a hotel in order to get some hours of sleep for our next day of work. We've told management about these incremental costs and they have yet to offer to reimburse for this hotel costs or any of the other costs from the incessant fire alarms. I've pleaded with management many times and they have yet to come to us with a workable solution. Whenever Veda sends an email in regards to the problem they will blame it on the residents either pulling the alarms or smoking in the building (which is ridiculous). Their excuses are unfortunately just their way of avoiding fixing the actual problem which is clearly within the fire alarm system. The most frustrating thing about this all is just the lack of respect and consideration from VEDA and Greystar's management. My fiancé and I have been consistently complaining about these fire alarms since last November. Rather than truly make things right, all they do is say that it's being "handled by a third party" and that their sorry. And then, inevitably it happens again and again. We continue to complain and they still say it's been handled by a third party when it clearly has not. Rather than leave it to a "third party" VEDA and Greystar should do the right thing and OVERHAUL the fire system. But they refuse to do so and so us residents are left to suffer. Like I said, absolutely do not come here if you value your sleep and rest for work. The building is pretty and the amenities are nice but it is absolutely not worth it if you're not allowed to sleep at night and don't even get enough respect from management to be reimbursed and compensated for all the damage created from their incompetence. Manager is worthless and has attitude. The building shuts off the water for 9 hours a day at least once every few weeks since I've lived here. Constant water leaks and floods in the building. Forget about ordering things online to your apartment. FedEx, Amazon, ups constantly cant access the building so packages are always being rerouted or undeliverable. If you order food to be delivered or invite a guest over you have to leave your apt and go down to the all the way to the lobby to let them up or get your food. They can't come to your door. And it's it's after 6pm. You have to even open the main door of the building for them because there is no way for them to even buzz in. if you have a baby good luck! You'll have to bring your whole family down! The most inconvenient set up I have ever seen! Everyone that lives here all complain about how much we hate it here when u bump into someone in the elevator. It's almost a joke at this point. read more

I move into this apartment towards the end of June. So far my experience has been wonderful. The management sends out emails regularly notifying us of anything going in in the apartment complex. All of the staff have been very helpful throughout this moving process. Hastea was very informative and kind. After we moved in she even stopped by to meet our cats. I can't even explain how much of a blessing this place has been so far. The gym and pool are gorgeous and the entire building makes me feel safe. Every one of our neighbors I have met have been friendly, easy-going people. Since I moved in I haven't had any issues with plumbing or anything like that. I'm 6 months in & dreading the fact that I have to throw a TON of money at this dump for another 6 months until my lease is up. The amount of money we are paying to live in this SHITHOLE is ridiculous!! From day one, it has been a disaster. On move in day, our keys weren't ready & our ac wasn't working so we were moving all our furniture & boxes up to the fourth floor to a 100 degree apartment in the middle of June. If I had the option to move out right then, I would have. Here's what else is wrong with this place: -water is CONSTANTLY getting shut off, with no notice. Like all the time!! -obnoxious fire alarm goes off often in the middle of the night (it's really loud & terrifying to wake up to) -there is a huge fruit fly infestation & in every unit I'm pretty sure because I've talked to other tenants & they all have the same problem. -people leave their dog shit all over the hallways & in the elevators. It's disgusting!! I've stepped in it AND found poop in one of the washers!! Soo gross!!!!!!!!! -they tore out all the pretty stuff in the lobby that attracted us to this place in the first place promising renovations, but nothing is happening. -we were promised upon signing a lease that we were getting washers & dryers in every unit by August. It's now December & we haven't heard anything else about that. The list goes on & on!! Just read the other yelp reviews. I wish I would have believed the bad reviews before moving in but I was blinded by the charm that I thought this place had & I regret it 100%. This is the worst living situation I have ever been in & almost double the price of much nicer complexes that I've lived in. I've lived here for a little bit now and first off the walls are thin and I can hear my neighbors clear as day all the time when I'm in my bedroom and I know when they are showering. It's driving me insane. Also the pool isn't open yet and it was supposed to be done by September. We were also supposed to have washer/dryer units installed in unit by September, they are in the units just not installed. People also dump a ton of furniture in the back alley and it sits there for months, getting moldy and sometimes homeless people sleep on it. The apartments themselves are nice and maintenance is usually good, but essentially there's no visitor parking so they have find street parking which is tough. read more

I would give zero stars if I could...I was obsessed with The Grand after touring and knew it was the home for me. (This was around June 25, and I was to move in on July 1.) I put down the $500 holding deposit, and started my application process. I submitted the application 25 minutes after touring (I was still in the lobby) and then was told that someone else JUST turned in their application before me, but that if theirs didn't get approved I would be good to go. Okay, fine. I get that. Well, the person was approved so I lost out on that unit. Again, not their fault. However, Marlo, the girl helping me, told me that they had another unit available just a few days later, and although it was the EXACT SAME layout as the one I toured and intended on leasing, it was 500 more a month. Um...what? Okay. I really like this place, and I need to move (I had looked at SO MANY apartments at this point and just needed to move) so I decided on just leasing that unit even though it was over my budget and honestly way too much for the unit. I sent my application over (had to do another one?) and was told a couple of days later that it was approved except my credit history was lacking (I've only had a credit card for just over a year..) so I would have to pay a larger deposit (nearly $3000). I was pissed, understandably, because I've never missed a credit payment and my prior landlord was happy with me as a resident, AND I made the minimum 3x rent to qualify. I put down the hefty deposit and prepared to also have to pay first month's rent upon move in. By July 2nd, I still haven't heard back. July 4th comes, nothing. On July 5, I get an email saying that the deposit I made actually wouldn't work to cover the unit. I'm not kidding you...I worked until July 28th with this place (and Marlo, who never freakin' responded to my emails or calls) to try to get this all settled. At this point I've paid so much money to this place and they are feeding me so many excuses. (The unit that I was going to move into, the SECOND and more expensive unit, apparently was no longer available because the tenant decided to stay. They didn't tell me this and instead tried to make excuses and put blame on me.) I finally told her forget it. I'm not living here, I just spent a month and thousands of dollars extra trying to secure this place and you're just screwing me. I needed to get out of my apartment because the carbon monoxide made me very sick (long story...my carbon monoxide/fire alarm didn't have a battery in it for the 14 MONTHS that I lived there, and I ended up with poisoning..) and I ended up just wasting so much time that I could have used to find a good place to stay and SO MUCH MONEY! Now, the main reason for the one star is because as of today, November 20, I STILL have not received my holding deposit back. I was told by Marlo that it would arrive to me no more than 6 weeks later, but probably closer to 3 or 4. Ha! It's literally been 5 months. I've emailed several times, called and left several messages because I'm never able to get through, etc. I emailed Marlo around the middle of September asking for an update on my deposit...she emailed back and said that she no longer worked for The Grand and gave me contact info to get in touch with someone. Well, I've been trying to get in touch with that someone for months to no avail. I'd drive up there if it wasn't so damn far from where I currently live, and I shouldn't have to do that... TLDR; The Grand stole my holding deposit ($500) and refuses to get back to me after putting me through a month long hassle because they screwed up. I'm in the process of filing a small claim since I can't get anyone to freaking respond to me and give my money back. They'll be out A LOT more than $500. read more

Our $1352 deposit was completely taken by these guys. I just had another friend asked if they should move in here because of the renovations after touring today... They promised us THAT upon moving in. They never came through on any promise... Made living conditions UNBEARABLE.. Horrendous security.. Horrendous maintenance.. And then take our entire security deposit for a place that was almost like new. Over $1352!!!! These guys are total and complete crooks ****** **** There are so so so many places around for the exact same price that are SOOOOOO much better. We just got a townhouse at the Plaza and couldn't be happier... From the worst situation ever at the grand to this. Don't put yourself in that situation **** The worst thing about paying almost $3,000 a month for an apartment is... NOT BEING ABLE TO LIVE THERE BECAUSE OF THE CONDITIONS!!! I will be posting pictures on a daily basis to show you the conditions that are acceptable for the management and ownership of this building. My roommate and myself could not even LIVE in our apartment for 1 month because of a BUG INFESTATION caused because of neglect to our continuous calls for our garbage disposal to be repaired. We could not use our sink for 3 weeks so the bugs moved in and hatched in our pipes connected to our sink. This led to hundreds if not 1000s of bugs infesting our apartment. We called and called.. Emailed and emailed... They finally sent exterminators who came by after first canceling their appointment because of rain then show up a few days later. He did a quick inspection of the place and stated he had no idea where the bugs were coming from because there was no food in the entire place. He told us to make home made bug traps and would come back in a week. We continued to complain (while not being able to live in our place for that time period might I add) but nothing was done. He comes back the following week and it was even worse. He then said he'd come by the NEXT WEEK to spray our place. Week 3 - he comes by and sprays the place. This was the first time they went away... For a few days. Then... Guess what.. They came back! Why? They found some crevice in the pipes. Keep in mind we still have not had a maintenance guy come up to check the pipes like we have asked connected to the sink . Week 4 - the exterminator brings back some special "apple cider vinegar" traps and tells us there's nothing else he can really do because it has to be something in the pipes. Later that week we FINALLY FINALLY get a visit from maintenance for the building and they do a treatment for the sink.... Please note... We are now 7 weeks from the original bug problem and are still dealing with it. We have contacted management so many times it's ridiculous. When you're not able to live in your apartment but still expected to pay close to $3,000 per month in rent, it's ludicrous. We contacted management and now ownership for just that ONE month in rental reimbursement... But guess what... DENIED! Seems like a reasonable request when you are not even able to live in the place right?? I spoke with the manager Aaron yesterday who has not been helpful WHATSOEVER and tried to blame the bug infestation on us yesterday for having food left out when both the exterminator and his staff have told me and my roommate they know there is no food in the place. The manager then told me "my disposal wasn't broken for weeks and I didn't have that problem." For one, how is that even acceptable... But main point is... How can that be your reasoning? Ludicrous This situation just goes to show you that management does not care about their tenants. They blame the problems of the building on their guests. I feel BAD for Sean and Godson who work for these guys because they have TRIED to help but have no power. Here are a few other issues with the building: 1) the pipes to your showers are so backed up... Expect to take a shower in at least 8 inches of water. They have tried to fix this about 3-4 times. 2) the area is not safe. It is next to a motel that has interesting clientele. I've had to contact security many times because female guests are scared to come here 3) the place is dirty. There was an old pizza outside an elevator last week for the entire week. 4) the place is extremely noisy. Parties go on all night every night so don't expect a good night's sleep. 5) to be continued.... Almost everyone who moves here leaves when their lease ends. The management is great and the location is perfect with quick access to Sepulveda and Ventura Boulevards, access to Mulholland, access to the beachy Westside, and of course, access to Downtown. Moved into the Veda Apartments in February and absolutely love it! The new renovations are amazing, the gym is state of the art, and all of the amenities make this a beautiful place to live. Melissa at the front desk is incredible and is always there for any questions or issues we may have. Can wait to live here for another year! read more

Incredibly unresponsive and unprofessional. Do you even want people to live here? Was set to move into this complex some time ago, but any time I tried to call the front office to get my lease, my move in information, anything, the leasing agents were unreachable. It took ages to get my information approved and it felt like I was ghosted due to the slow response times. I waited close to a week to be able to contact the leasing office. I left voicemails, called multiple times a day, even after they left a voicemail and got nothing. My previously agreed upon move in date came and went with no response, until I later got a call attempting to confirm my move in date. I had to find a new place to live entirely. I was lucky to be in a situation that made it easier to find a different place with no worries, because this is irresponsible and frustrating to no end. I should have looked at the reviews online before attempting to apply, but I'm glad I still dodged this bullet. read more

The front desk staff goes through so many different employees, except for Roxy or whatever her name is, dont know how she hasn't been fired since she could care less about you or any issue you may have. Ohhh thats why, because the Grand doesn't care about anything you have to say after they get you to sign a lease and they're taking your money. She's rude and thinks she's better than anyone who dares comes up to her...sorry for bothering you DURING YOUR WORKING HOURS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN IT'S OKAY TO SPEAK TO YOU WITHOUT YOUR CRAPPY ATTITUDE. The maintenance team is the only good thing about the employees here, if it wasn't for them, this place would have fallen apart...more than it already has. When I was looking for an apartment, I was sold on the washer and dryer in unit and the pool being done "in time for summer". 9 months later....still have NO working washer and dryer, which might I add is why I was okay with paying a higher price for rent, and the pool area is barley about to be done, in November. When I moved in, I did a walk through and was informed that the cracked tiles could not be replaced because they dont carry them anymore.....SO HOW ABOUT CHANGING THE TILES AND NOT RENTING AN APARTMENT WITH CRACKED TILES EVERYWHERE. The paint job was horrible but they said it was fine....apparently dried up paint dripping down the cabinets and walls is fine to them. The closet doors were not put on the track evenly, my bathroom was not updated at all.... and they painted over all the holes in the wall from the previous tenant, without bothering to fill it...so I have a bunch of holes in the walls :) The water is shut off at least once a month and the stupid fire alarms go off every 5 minutes....DOESNT MATTER THE TIME OF DAY, OR NIGHT. The elevators are always broken, and if you don't use the two main ones in the lobby... there's a high possibility you might pass out from the stench in all of the other elevators. its absolutely disgusting how bad they smell and look, but as long as the main ones are fixed up and nice, thats all that matters to bring in new residents. Do your self a favor and stay far away from this place, no matter how pretty the building may look...the Grand, or Veda, whatever they would like to call themselves is the WORST place to live. Cannot wait til this lease is over....and yes I made this account to post about how crappy this place is because I don't need management to be even more rude the remainder of my lease here. The worst place to live. management is bad. They do not care about the tenants, There has been so many inconveniences since we moved here. Place is dirty. They advertise luxury apartment living and that is not what this place is. The place has been sold to convert them into condos. There are no considerations for tenants. Construction workers can get in your apartment and still things from you. This has happened to myself. The small walking closet I had, was even reduced to make room for washer and dryer which left me without space for my things. There are no amenities here as well. Their excuse is that they don't charge for amenities and if we don't pay, who pays for it? Warning. Kitchen space is very limited, there are no cabinets to store dishes and if there are some, are very small. NOT WORTH THE PRICE read more

Hey guys! I normally don't do Yelp reviews, but I feel the need to share my experience so I can help future renters beware of a few things... 1. Don't expect on getting your security deposit back After my initial walk through I was told I'd be charged a $150 repaint fee (the walls were spotless--no marks, etc) I repainted the entire unit myself, left the apt spotlessly clean (not to mention over the time I lived there I was OCD clean). I was told in the final walk through they would waive the painting fee. Conveniently the office girl doing the final walk through (Ericka) didn't have the appropriate paper to give me stating what potential charges would be even after I asked specifically so I could avoid being slapped with charges that weren't discussed. Low and behold I received a check for $88 out of my $500 with no breakdown or any explanation. 2. There's no security and we had multiple break-ins During my year and a half we had two major break ins to the gated garage--the first time my roommate had her rims stolen off her car. The office said they couldn't do anything and told her to call the cops--they wouldn't even help! They have security cameras around the building, but they're just for show and don't actually work...awesome huh?! While my roommate was dealing with the Police we found out another tenants entire car was lifted!!! So if you don't have a newer model with GPS good luck... The second time there was a break in we weren't affected personally, but over 20 cars had items stolen out of them. 3. They raise the rent crazy high After my first year I decided to extend my lease and the rent went up $500! 4. The water is constantly on and off as in shut off, as in if you want to shower you can't, so if you need to get to work at a specific time it's not always...convenient... Overall, I loved my actual apartment. The space was large and cozy, but as far as worrying if your car is safe every night and getting ripped off with your security deposit I would look elsewhere! read more

This place is a dump! - The carpets are stained from pet poop and pee throughout the building - the apartments need remodeling. Drawers and fixtures falling part - the walls and doors need paint job and attention to - management doesn't give a rip. I had a ONLY a bamboo shade on my deck like everyone else. Nothing else on my deck at all! I use it for sun shade and I have to take it down - management has raised our rent over the last year and has not yet done any improvements to the apartments - more middle easterners or Israelis live here and the good smells good but stinks the halls everyday You need to red everyone else's reviews here. I am a current resident and wish I had better thing to say about this place since I am stuck here for a little while still. To people looking for an apartment: DON'T LIVE HERE. The location is nice and my unit itself was livable but the management sucks. The people in the leasing office are little more than robots spouting out customer service bullshit that they are supposed to say as a way to make you think they care about more than just taking your money. And the complex itself is nothing to brag about. Yes, there is a swimming pool, a hot tub and a gym, but beyond that this place doesn't have much to offer. The hallway carpets are disgusting, every week there is something within the apartment that needs to be fixed and if you are going to move in here for some reason, make sure you bring a level to make sure your floors aren't uneven (seriously). And the fees they charge on top of the rent every month (especially if you have a pet) are infuriating when you add them up over the course of a year. My roommate and I moved out of one unit and into another--and even though they told us we would receive nearly our entire security deposit back if you cleaned the apartment ourselves, they still took out nearly $200 even though we only lived there for less than three months. Nothing about my experience here so far as been something I would brag about. The management is a pain in the ass, I feel like I've been screwed out of a decent amount of cash and I can't wait to move out when my lease is up. While I'm here I will be able to enjoy the location and the gym....that's pretty much it. read more

My good friend lived here about a year ago, so when my boyfriend was looking for a place in Sherman Oaks, The Grand seemed like a great idea given that it's convenient to the 405, 101, and the Galleria is walking distance. When we first came to sign the paper work, we were given an amazing tour around the building and were shown all the amazing facilities such as the pool, jacuzzi, move theater, gym, sauna, and beautiful lobby. Needless to say he was impressed and agreed to sign the papers immediately and move in ASAP. Then 2 days before move-in (mind you, moving truck scheduled, help hired for move in), the NEW management team informs us that the tenant in the apartment he was scheduled to move in to had decided to stay longer, thereby leaving my bf without a place. They then inform him his only option to move in within the next month would be to take a 2 bedroom apt. Given that he was starting school in a week, he needed a place and begrudgingly paid more money to take the 2 bedroom. Since he's lived here (only 2 months now), we've had the water shut off 3 times, the hot water turned off at least 6 times, the dishwasher leaked into the living room hallway, the second bathroom toilet still wont stop running, and the elevators are always breaking down. The maintenance guy is AMAZING and always responds immediately so we know it is the management team to blame. As we sit here now in the living room waiting (for 2 1/2 hours now) for the hot water to be turned on so we can shower and go to work, someone comes by to do an apartment inspection, which we got notification would be Friday, not Tuesday. I just called my friend who lived here to complain about our current situation and she informed me one day her roommate came home to find the upstairs apartment bathroom had caved into her's, showering her whole room. Basically this apartment building is deceivingly beautiful with many false promises by Management and huge underlying plumbing problems. read more

I have been here for nearly a miserable year. I feel like I live in Tijuana. My water is incessantly turned off; therefore I can't shower when I want to or wash my dishes. The water is not hot, so I actually prefer to shower at my gym. The front part of the building is filled with dog poop because the tenants don't pick up after their dogs, and the parking area is filled with trash. I feel like on live in a college dorm because on the weekends my neighbors are blasting their music and the smell of pot is a normalcy. This place is the worst apartment I have lived in my entire existence, and although the staff is friendly and well intentioned, they seem poorly organized. Don't live here. Whatever you do. Just don't. I thought the new management was better, but another poster was right. They are d*cks. I just had a guy be so rude to me I couldn't believe it. Ever heard of customer service? I don't care if I'm upset or not. It is your job to listen to my concerns, not tell me go take it up with someone else and have a condescending attitude. I've dealt with the construction for months (starting at 8 am right next to the wall where I sleep), I've dealt with the poor wiring, the shower that's only tall enough to reach my chin (I'm 5'11"), the lights exploding in my bathroom, the lack of reliable hot water, the several water shut offs that happen on the regular (which they were supposed to fix but we still had another shutoff because of yet another massive leak), the tilted apartment (the whole apartment is physically slightly tilted), the crappy laundry cards, leaky ceiling, elevators that are outdated and super terrifying (if they're working at all), and during all this you raising the rent. And don't get my started on the pet crap and piss in the halls and elevators... Yet you get to be a jerk to me? I don't think so. Not without everyone knowing. 5 stars to the maintenance crew. You guys are awesome. That is the only positive. If you see a review more than 2 starts, it's gotta be a friend of an employee. They aren't legit. Trust me. read more

My year at the Grand Apartments has been one of the worst years of my life. I honestly don't even know where to start. (Side Note) *****LEARN YOUR RIGHTS AS TENANTS******. Lets start with the issues with the actual apartment. During my year here I experienced a gas leak, an electrical spark box issue, the air conditioning and leaking for 2 weeks, oh and lets not forget the roach problem. That was really exciting. The laundry amenities are a joke, The laundry machines were always having some sort of issue or the laundry cards. One time I put $30 on my laundry card and then went to use and sure enough it wasn't working! Shocking! So went down to the office where I asked Godson what I should do he rudely handed me a number saying its not their problem and to call this number. Called that number still haven't been refunded. However the rudeness of the staff doest stop there. They all seem to think the very highly of themselves, every time I asked about something I was constantly met with a condescending response or attitude. Considering your just a leasing agent which doesn't even require a Real Estate license. Just today I actually called to ask about my refund and was put on hold. No one has gotten back to me yet . All I can say is what a bunch of power tripping (place explicit language here) they are. Now that I am officially gone and done with The Grand it has been over 21 days I have not yet received any amount or itemized receipt for my deposit. So that now means I have the right to Sue for 3x the amount of the deposit. If anyone decides to live in this hell hole I would strongly suggest knowing your rights as a tenant. read more

I'm going to start with, going through renovations in this building there has absolutely been several trials and tribulations. Yes, things are not always the most convenient during construction and that can be annoying. With that said, I can't thank Roxanne enough for helping me through the hiccups that come with living through construction, maintenance issues or silly little mistakes like locking myself out. Every time I have had any issue she has gone out of her way to help me. I know there are several resident here, so that fact that she takes time out of her clearly busy schedule means a lot and makes me feel like a valued resident. Had it not been for her, I might have moved out a year ago. Living through renovations can be extremely trying on anyone, but it definitely helps to have front desk that actually cares and listens. Thank you! ...Also, BE NICE! They deal with a lot and most of the things that go wrong are out of their hands. Kindness and consideration can go a long way people. read more

--------- 2016 revised: DO NOT MOVE HERE, we have been here for 8 Y E A R S and over that period of time: 1.) the management has changed NOT FOR THE BETTER there are now 2 decent people out of the 5 that come in and out of the "management office" that isn't the greatest of odds realize. 2.) the refurbishing has changed, carpets, apartment doors, hallways, elevators, the people who reside here, the maintenance staff, and NOT FOR THE BETTER the carpet pattern looks like the carpet itself has scabies, chicken pox, measles its just WRONG looking. 3.) the water gets shut down at LEAST once every other week 4.) the staff is R U D E 5.) the interior design is awful 6.) we plan on moving soon 7.) the rent continues to go up because of the refurbs (which again, BAD) 8.) the garage clickers often don't work and to get a replacement, they cost $50 EACH 9.) the washers and dryers MAYBE work twice a week. 2016 revision: 10.) the tenants are low in quality, people who might or might not actually live here stand at the main entrance door and knock and knock and knock until someone lets them in, then they sit in our common room, watch our common room tv, drink our complimentary coffee, wait until someone uses the gym, follows them in and takes advantage of our gym area, and our pool area, did I mention they do not PAY RENT. If you LIVE HERE you should have a key to the building. A key to your apartment. A key to your garage. A key to your mail. WHY are you standing at our lobby door knocking and waiting for someone to let you in?!? Maybe, cause YOU DON'T LIVE HERE. YOU DON'T PAY RENT = you are not entitled to the facilities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER YELPER, and they are 100% Correct/Accurate TERRIBLE -- The water is off once or twice a week. They have increased our rent DURING the year long process of complete RENOVATIONS. Super old, poorly managed building; so mold, mildew, holes & YEARS of ignored ware & tare had to be redone. We are living here for almost 2 years now. In the past two years this building changes 3 management companies, one worst that the other one. We constantly have problems in our apartment. But the worst is knowing that our and our children's lives are in danger since we have been dealing with robberies and breaking into cars. Its been 2 ties already in one year!!!!! that someone broke into our car and stole our belongings. Can you imagine living in a place that you don't feel safe and the management does nothing to protect you and your belonging. We needed to waste 3 days of work in order to find a place to fix our car, to call our insurances, to find a replacement car and then to take the replacement car back an our car back and dealing with the insurance. I have 2 small babies. Can you imagine loosing working days and not having a car to take them to daycare and to do arraigns. Besides that, we constantly don't have hot water in one of our showers. They stopped the water for maybe 5 days in different occasions to fix it. but guess what? yes they didn't fix anything. Our washing machine didn't have hot water for a month. so i needed to wash my babies whites by hand since no hot water were there. Also our dish washer got so many problems and it took forever until they realized they needed to just replace it. Another issue is with the elevators in the building. They constantly stop working so you needs to walk into different areas to have one elevator work and you cant go up to your apartment for the parking since the elevator doesn't work, therefore need to walk with tons of groceries miles until you get into your place. Moreover, the people they send seem to have no experience of how to fix things and we need them to come over and over to solve the same issue. I none of the times, the door fell in my babies room, they could be dead if it wasn't during the night. Imagine them playing in their room and suddenly the door is falling on them... horrible! Also - they took the door and said a new door will be i a few days. It took them 3 weeks to bring a new door. those were the worst 3 weeks since the kids had problems falling a sleep and we needed to be so quite all the time. and why? i believe if someone read it, they had enough reasons why not signing any contract with this building. read more

The Grand Apartments, adjacent to The Galleria is a cool place to call home. (Yep, used to live here). I did always appreciate the activities they had planned, from pool parties to movie nights to Monday night Football screenings. This huge, maze-like complex also features a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym and a movie room. The units themselves are very nice and spacious. The one thing I always hated about this place was their ancient and broken down elevators. With all the money they charge, you think they would have upgraded their elevators, here's hoping they will, soon! read more

Let's just say I am EXCITED beyond relief to be moving out of this place. It's been months since getting access to my MAILBOX. Insanity right? Since august I have not be able to get new keys to my mailbox, I've complained several times, have paid them 100$ extra for keys and still no help. I've come downstairs where several people have tried accessing the mailbox w the wrong set of keys and all they say is come back tomorrow and we'll fix it. This has been ongoing for months- they DONT respond to my emails or answer phone calls- and it's beyond frustrating. I would not recommend anyone who likes good hospitality to move here, please find somewhere else to go cause this place sucksssssss! It's finally December and I move out in a few days, and still no damn key to my mailbox. I've even had banks and other businesses call me saying I have mail that I have not responded too. Moved in pretty recently, there's been some kinks here and there but the leasing office seems to go out of their way to fix any issues we seemed to have. Hastea helped us get through the application process and answered all my (many many) questions. We had some issues (on our end) with the application process and Hastea was so kind in helping us through it and explaining everything in detail to us. She's extremely professional, kind, and pleasant! So far we have loved being here and all the wonderful amenities this place has to offer!!! read more

you could notice that all the 5 star reviews are based Manuel and the maintenance team. A summary of my terrible experience at the grand: - Car was broken in and the "security guard" who you'd typically see sleeping somewhere had no idea. And of course there were no cameras. - They lied about the renovation saying it would only take 6-9 months. Here we are now, almost two years in and still no significant changes. -clogged trash chutes that wouldn't get unclogged until it smells terrible in the hallways. -Very unprofessional and rude management, don't get fooled by the friendly tour, I fell for that trap too. - get used to cold showers, hot water is rare commodity at the grand. - some elevators have been out of service for at least 4 months now. - your "urgent" maintenance request will take at least 3-4 days to be addressed. - too expensive compared to what they offer. I'm a yelp lurker and created this account only to advise people not to make my mistake of living here.
